A classic German restaurant with a very attentive and friendly owner. The food was as delicious as "Mom's cooking." I highly recommend a visit to this establishment.

Forty years ago, during our school days in Weimar, we went to the Waldschlösschen. For our class reunion in 2025, we thought we'd go again. It was a wonderful evening. We received a very warm welcome and were well looked after throughout the evening. The small but excellent menu offered something for everyone, including a starter and dessert. At the end, the owners bid us an equally warm farewell. We'd love to come back anytime. What a fantastic place you have!

There were two of us without a reservation. The price/performance ratio was good. The portions were decent. We really enjoyed our meal. The service was friendly. We can recommend it.

Very authentic! A quaint restaurant serving traditional Thuringian cuisine in a cozy, old-fashioned atmosphere. The dumplings and roasts are excellent, everything tastes homemade. Friendly service, pleasant staff, and fair prices – highly recommended! My absolute favorite: the terrace – a reminder of my childhood good times!

Despite the high demand, we still managed to get a seat and were very satisfied. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly.

We were just outside for coffee. It's a nice place, but Sundays are a no-go in the summer.

Definitely recommended! We got a seat outside even without a reservation. The beer and shandy were served quickly, and then we ordered right away. Since we're in Thuringia, I had to get something local, so I had Thuringian Rostbrätle with fried onions, roasted potatoes, and a side salad. My husband had venison leg with red cabbage and Thuringian dumplings. Both were delicious! It's a shame we're only here for one day, or rather one night. So we treated ourselves to dessert: vanilla ice cream with strawberries and a Swedish sundae (vanilla ice cream with applesauce, eggnog, and whipped cream). If we ever come back to Weimar, we'll definitely stop at the Waldschlösschen again.

Good, home-style cooking at fair prices. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff friendly and efficient. Update: We were here again on January 4, 2025, and what can I say, it's still very good. 👍😋👏 Update: We were here again on June 7, 2025, and the food was always very good. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great enough to finally have lunch in the beer garden, but it's nice inside too. 😋😋😋👌

We celebrated our wedding in the Waldschlösschen! The best decision we made after saying YES ;) The food was delicious, as always, great service, everything was just perfect for us. We would like to thank this great team and can only recommend it to everyone! 5 stars are not enough!

When you enter the restaurant, you think the clock stopped shortly after the reunification. Everything seems a bit dusty and outdated. The food was very mixed. The game goulash is quite good. But the rump steak shouldn't actually be called that. Far too thin and only one of the three I ordered came close to the level of doneness ordered. Even the fries without any additives don't work that way. No sophistication, nothing that wouldn't have been served 30 years ago. However, the staff is very friendly and quick.

So I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. According to the recession, the Thuringian dumplings are a delicacy, ugh I'm just saying that the restaurant has a 4.5 star rating. I had Mediterranean vegetable rabbit leg with dumplings, it makes me so sick. The dumplings tasted sour and were really hard and floury on the inside, a very strange taste. And the vegetables consisted of an onion, zucchini and canned tomatoes topped off with letsch sauce. A restaurant comparable to a snack bar. The atmosphere is rustic, in need of renovation and not very harmonious. The best thing was the service. I don't recommend anyone who believes in enjoyment, fresh cooking without ready-made products to go out to eat.

We were served nicely shortly before the kitchen closed, fresh salad was out, no problem for us, everything was delicious and the price for the salad was deducted from the bill. I haven't had the Waldschlösschen on my radar for a long time, but I can continue with it with a clear conscience recommend.

Okay, the food, here leg of game and herring, was delicious and already prepared. But venison leg is not “sliced ​​meat”. The apple strudel is made in-house every two weeks, then we would have the last piece two weeks old... it tasted like it had been thawed from the frozen food store after two years... Sent back and we still had to pay for it, and I also know this "discussing quality of the service man" not even from the worst cubicle in Berlin.... Hard Real... Ambiance, like at the opening in the good old GDR... If you like it... Well, but they can do Swedish ice cream sundaes. .. I'm still shaking my head against visiting the establishment again...

Were there on Saturday for an 85th birthday and everything was beautifully arranged, the ladies were very welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious, we will definitely visit again. 😊😊

100% Thuringia since 1877, family business in one hand since 1965, EVERYTHING!!! homemade. Fantastic food, super friendly service, a hiking trail (Napoleon hiking trail) right next to the house, plenty of parking spaces, local beer, traditional and loving ambience and also an excellent price/performance ratio - everything is just right here. Insider tip: the smallest Christmas market in Thuringia takes place here on the 3rd of Advent. definitely visit.

Gaststätte wieder entdeckt, schon 3 x wieder dort gewesen, auch für Vegetarier gibt es lecker Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung, keine lange Wartezeit, alles frisch zubereitet, flexibel in der Zusammenstellung, wir gehen definitiv wieder hin

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, das Ambiente ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Nun zum Essen, hier tun sich Entwicklungspotentiale auf. Preis - Leistungsverhältnis ist u ausgewogen. Wir hatten Wildgulasch mit Klößen und Sauerbraten. Der Wildgulasch war als solcher nicht zu schmecken, obwohl Wild einen guten Eigengeschmack mitbringt. Das Fleisch beim Sauerbraten war in Ordnung die Klöße auch. Beide Essen waren lieblos angerichtet der Salatteller war nicht besser. Für 18,50 € darf man eine ordentliche Qualität erwarten dürfen. Wir werden hier nicht wieder einkehren.
