Gaststätte Urschelhöhe in Schneeberg

First of all, thank you so much for the spontaneous reservation for three people just under an hour before dinner. The restaurant's interior was cozy, if a bit dark. Our food (rump steak with mushrooms, breaded schnitzel, and cauliflower with hollandaise sauce) arrived about 30 minutes after ordering. If I may offer a suggestion regarding the rump steak I ordered, it's important to ask the guest how they would like their steak cooked (rare, medium, or well-done). Furthermore, the meat seemed somewhat sinewy with small patches of fat, which more discerning diners might not appreciate. The other two dishes were fine, and the waitress was always attentive and helpful. However, the rump steak only cost just under twenty euros, which explains why it might have been more of a tenderloin than a rump steak. In my opinion, it's also important to ask whether the guest would like to pay by cash or card. Otherwise, the restaurant might be less appealing to young adults. Nevertheless, the waitress was very friendly and, as I said, attentive to the guests.

We were in the area on vacation. While driving through the country, we saw this restaurant. Since we were hungry, we stopped here. It's a good, home-style restaurant. The menu had a lot to offer. The food was nicely presented. The portions were average, but it tasted wonderful. The service was also very friendly and attentive. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely eat here again.

Very pleasant staff in a great atmosphere and very good food.

On December 26th, our family visited this restaurant to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere with a cozy lunch. Although we don't usually write reviews, we wanted to share our experience in the hope that this criticism might contribute to improving the restaurant's offerings. We were the first guests in the restaurant and were only greeted from a distance, without being shown to our reserved table. Unfortunately, a Christmas atmosphere was completely lacking, as the background music was reminiscent of a pub. It quickly became clear to us why the restaurant wasn't fully booked during the Christmas season compared to other groups in Schneeberg. In addition, the salad we ordered as an appetizer was as dry as a desert, with only a few drops of dressing covering the leaves. After a lengthy discussion, our daughter's dish was delivered incorrectly, and the remaining dishes tasted like ready-made meals. This was completely unacceptable for what was advertised as a festive meal, a fact also reflected in the spelling on the menu. Finally, we had to light the candle on the table ourselves to bring some warmth to the room. Finally, we quickly ate our planned "feast" to avoid catching a cold. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend it.

The owners are very friendly, the food tastes great, and with a pre-order you don't have to wait long. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is very warm and welcoming.
