They know how to make really good fried potatoes. It's a real shame the place is located in the middle of this cycling hell called Münster.

The Töddenhoek restaurant is a place that perfectly reflects the Münster atmosphere. The friendly staff and the small details inside, reminiscent of a bygone era, create a very cozy atmosphere. The food we ordered was simply delicious! The menu also included vegetarian dishes. I highly recommend the Töddenhoek restaurant. The food was excellent, and we will definitely be back! Tip: To ensure a table, especially on weekends, it's best to make a reservation in advance!

Completely overrated. Very small portions. Only of limited interest to tourists. There are much better options in the city, both traditional and modern. Tradition and location. Nothing else.

One of the most beautiful restaurants ever! Rustic, with great attention to detail, fantastic, typical Münsterland dishes, a wonderful selection of drinks, and friendly service. I've been coming here for 35 years now – unfortunately, I'm in Münster far too rarely.

Traditional restaurant in Münster's city center. On this Saturday afternoon, we didn't have to wait for a table. Another time, however, I was turned away at the door because they were at capacity. Friendly and prompt service. And very tasty German cuisine at reasonable prices. The schnitzel is highly recommended, as is the mushroom ragout, a vegetarian dish!

We were here with a small group and enjoyed an excellent meal and a relaxing nightcap after a city tour. Very friendly staff and good food.

I give it 5 stars in all three categories! It's a quaint restaurant with a sophisticated bar. We sat in the "cellar" because we were a private party. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is interesting: Westphalian specialties you're not used to. I ordered a Westphalian onion-flavored beef, which was delicious and very plentiful. The value for money was also okay. The only drawback: They don't serve Münster beers, but they do serve Westphalian beers.

Prima gegeten. Ruim aanbod aan schnitzels en lekkere biertjes. Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is top. Vriendelijk personeel en de service ging over het algemeen vlot. Ligt zeer goed gelegen in het centrum van Münster.

Quaint restaurant with a really nice, rustic atmosphere - you immediately feel at home in the Töddenhoek inn. The service was very friendly and attentive, even as a larger group we were served quickly and well. The food was really tasty – I can especially recommend the meatball with fried potatoes. Overall, a good selection of Westphalian, regional cuisine. The location in the middle of the old town is ideal, and the beer selection is also large. It's just a shame that there's no regional brewery - that would have made the whole thing even better. Still absolutely recommended!

Wir waren hier zum Abendessen mit 4 Personen und hatten im Vorfeld reserviert. Vorab: Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich, der Service sehr freundlich. Leider ist das Essen (jedenfalls nach unserem Geschmack) allenfalls durchschnittlich. Schade, weil das Restaurant sehr viel Potenzial hat und wirklich schön ist. Vielleicht haben wir auch einfach einen "falschen" Tag erwischt...

The Töddenhoek restaurant is a great place to hang out - cozy, warm and just makes you feel good. The staff was super nice and attentive. I was particularly happy about the small Mettwurst with the beer - a nice gesture that you don't get everywhere. I would definitely like to come back!

A great, quaint restaurant that you should definitely visit. The food is high-quality and very tasty. You should especially try the "Töttchen" (small bun) when you visit—it may not look particularly delicious, but it is. The service was very friendly and accommodating, and we generally always feel very comfortable here. The decor is very traditional, and you can find items from bygone times everywhere.

We stumbled into the restaurant today by chance and got the last seat. We received a very warm and friendly welcome. Here's a big compliment to the super friendly and authentic conditions that do their job excellently. The food (meatball, savoy cabbage roulade and the vegetarian mushroom pan) were really tasty. We will definitely come back again when we are in Münster.

Sehr leckeres, reichhaltiges Essen. Hier schmeckt man die Tradition. Das spiegelt sich auch in der Einrichtung wider. Die Bestellung wurde zwar nicht richtig aufgenommen, aber der Service ist damit super umgegangen. Bei unserem nächsten Münsterbesuch werden wir hier wieder einkehren.

Very nice historical restaurant! The food tastes very good, the staff is very friendly. I only have to deduct a star for the beer prices: 0.4l 5.40 Eu or 0.5l 6.60 Eu are off.

Very friendly service. Has Offer of the day and change of side dish offered without asking. Very attentive. The food and drinks were brought quickly and the request for payment was also quickly fulfilled. Highly recommended.

Regular customers not welcome :( After spending many lovely and sociable evenings with good food at Toddenhoek every December as regular customers for almost 10 years with a group of 12, we are now no longer allowed to come back as a group. It wasn't until our fourth or fifth email with our reservation request (it wasn't possible to make a reservation in person or by phone) that the answer came that from now on they would only accept up to eight people in December. No explanation, no kind word and not a word of regret. When we tried to ask why over the phone, we were only briefly and unfriendlyly cut off. We were very annoyed by this impossible behavior and don't understand it. There is definitely no customer focus and no hospitality from the current Toddenhoek team. Too bad! The twelve of us will definitely never go to this place again.

We went with a group of Friends there. And were happy about a lovely, funny and good evening with meals and service! Absolutely recomenndable. Just the beer prices are a wee pricey. Nevertheless all other positive facts made it worth it being there for a nice evening.

Great ambience and friendly service

We came across Töddenhoek unexpectedly while visiting the Christmas market and were thrilled. A rustic, middle-class room that you can hardly find today, but without it seeming musty or old-fashioned, but rather nostalgic. The food was also perfect for us in terms of taste and portion size. Despite the stressful pre-Christmas period at lunchtime, the friendliness and service were also an A with stars. Definitely a visit worth repeating. 😊

Toddenhoek is a very nice and cozy restaurant in the city of Münster. Their schnitzels are amazing, and definitely a recommendation. Personnel is very friendly and food is delivered pretty quickly When we visit Münster in the future, we will definitely come here again to eat!

If you're in Münster, it doesn't have to be Kiepenkerl or Ratskeller. Discovered by chance in the rain. Every now and then something savory tastes good. If you have an appetite for home-style cooking, Töddenhoek is the right place for you. Service super friendly competent. Know the dishes by heart without having to ask. Good advice if you want a beer to match the dish. Such locations are rare in Germany. It's nice that the Töddenhoek exists, apparently in demand, because the two times we were there it was very well attended The next time you visit Münster, this will be our address.

An extraordinary old place that is more Dutch than German. Great service from a multigenerational family makes you feel welcome and well looked after. We were there twice - once for late night beers - limited, small glasses and quite pricey - and then back for hot chocolates the next day - warming, and better value. Great place to drop into on colder days to warm up and feel good. Recommended.

Update from October 5th, 2024: Staff totally overwhelmed and unsympathetic. Unfortunately, the first impression is deceiving. Therefore 3 stars instead of the original 5.

A bit pricey but the atmosphere is quite nice - very historical. Had their seasonal chanterelles schnitzel and peach beer, which was interesting and unusual!

Home-style cooking, good portions at fair prices. I would particularly like to emphasize the strikingly friendly and attentive service. We felt very comfortable today and were able to start our afternoon shopping afterwards. We will definitely be happy to come back on our next visit to Münster

It was cold, uncomfortable and smelled like a cellar. The meal was about the most average schnitzel I've ever eaten. It was by no means an “experience”. And even though it was announced, we still had to wait a long time for the food.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Das Essen (Frikadelle mit Schmorzwiebeln, Bratkartoffeln und Salat) war ausgezeichnet, hat sehr gut geschmeckt und war in Menge, Qualität und Preis absolut in Ordnung. Empfehlenswert, wenn man mal gut bürgerlich westfälisch speisen möchte und ordentlich Appetit mitbringt. Die urige Einrichtung ist noch positiv zu erwähnen. Kleines Manko: Die Toiletten sind ein wenig eng... Und die schönen alten Gemälde sollten evtl. mal gereinigt werden.... Ansonsten: Alles prima!

Looking for German cuisine, spontaneously stopped at Töddenhoek. Unfortunately only a very narrow map for our visit. We both had our schnitzels and they were really good. The salad had a fresh, delicious dressing and the fried potatoes were perfect with it. Absolutely clear recommendation!

From the ambience to the service to the food, it's just great. The service is super attentive and everyone is super friendly. We felt very comfortable.

Very original decor :) We eat well there. These are local specialties. Not just from Münster. The cuisine is plentiful.

Charming Traditional German restaurant. I tried 2 local beers, and the special weigh was schnitzel with tarragon gravy, croquettes, and salad. My friend had the bread dumpling with mushroom gravy. Hers was loaded with delicious fresh mushrooms. I ate all of it it was sehr lecher. Come and try if you are in the Munster shopping district. Staff was friendly and helped us, English speakers, from butchering the German language. Sehr Lecher!!!!!
