By chance we discovered the Töddenhoek and stopped by. We felt at home as soon as we were greeted by the super-friendly staff, and the rustic ambience and excellent food did the rest. We had savoy cabbage roulade, fried herring, cool shandy and a wonderful evening - we would love to come back!

Cozy pub with very fast and attentive service. The food is Westphalian and delicious, but still has room for improvement. (Get other plates, these large plates don't look nice and don't fit at all.)

We got a table for 4 people at short notice on Saturday evening. Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere. Service was quick. Drinks were quickly on the table. Ordered food, time until it was on the table was entertaining. The plates were well filled, i.e. portions were ok. A side salad came separately. There was nothing to complain about in terms of taste. It fit .

Their 16€ special was one of the best schnitzels I've had in a long time. The place looks a bit dated and rustic, which gives it quite a nice vibe, I liked it a lot. Service was fast and friendly.

Töddenhoek Schnitzel in the style of the house... A chewy dry schnitzel with a sauce, a few croquettes and a small bowl of salad for €22. You can get a better one in a snack bar. Drinks and food completely overpriced. Thank you never again.

There is always very tasty Westphalian cuisine here. Everyone really enjoyed it and there is a really nice and attentive service team here. You feel very comfortable and in good hands. The location right in downtown Münster is great. All in all a very tasty and lovely evening; We're always happy to come back.

The reviews convinced me to pay a visit to the restaurant on my first day of vacation in Münster. The food was fantastic and the service was quick. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I felt like I was in good hands because of the many fantastic and loving girls. That's how gastronomy works. 🥰

Unforgettable experience. Two very thick schnitzels with a good layer of champion cream sauce. Even my critical girlfriend said: 'this is exactly what I hoped for'. Highly recommended if you like traditional German schnitzels. Tschuss

Real Münster restaurant. The food, atmosphere and staff are great!

Definitely really great. However, you probably have to make a reservation weeks in advance, there were only two of us in Münster and at short notice and unfortunately we didn't get a place. Maybe next time. My tip: reserve online early enough.

Recommendation to anyone looking for something traditional to eat in a rustic atmosphere. I've walked past it so many times and finally stopped by. Beautifully rustic and somehow, as a native of Münster, I never went in. Shame on me. The restaurant delivers exactly what was expected and hoped for: good Westphalian cuisine, a cozy rustic atmosphere and very friendly staff. We really enjoyed the food and the portions were really big. It's a bit of a shame because we didn't manage to have dessert. Absolutely reasonable in price.

Classic German restaurant! Good portions, my grandparents really enjoyed it. The brawn in particular is something different. I'm a vegetarian myself and the selection is rather limited, otherwise the quality and service is top!

Delicious food, but the Toeddenhoek schnitzel with croquettes was a little underwhelming compared to the other dishes for the price.

The food was so delicious that I briefly considered camping in front of the door so I could go out and eat again the next day. The service was extremely friendly and attentive... All in all just awesome, very awesome, super awesome!!! I would recommend it but later all the tables are occupied when I want to eat so take it easy!!

I like the style of the furnishings. It's a really old German pub, but that's exactly what I was looking for. Waiters were very nice and quick.

We stumbled across this place while looking for something decent for lunch. An absolute stroke of luck! If you like good German cuisine, this is the place for you. When you looked at the menu it was hard to make a decision. The food tasted fantastic, I chose the smoked salmon with hash browns and salad with a herb dressing. The service was friendly and quick. Prices absolutely reasonable. The 5 stars are absolutely deserved.

After a long time I was back in Münster and near Töddenhoek. As always, it's worth a visit. Authentic, Westphalian restaurant. Service very nice and accommodating. Food excellent as always. We had pork medallions in pepper sauce, with very good fried potatoes and green beans. Can only be recommended. Price / offer: Very good.

Very cozy restaurant, nice staff... I've only been there for old women and key collection, but it was always full and there was a great atmosphere

The food was amazing! So good! It was a bit loud and busy but that's mostly because it is such a popular restaurant. The interior is really cozy and old school. Everything you expect from a traditional restaurant. The waiters checked in regularly and were very nice and polite. They speak English well and helped with the menu if we didn't know something. There is also an online menu in different languages. The food and drinks came fast and we didn't have to wait much. Not cheap but definitely worth the price.

Sorry, that was nothing! Service is different and I actually know what I'm talking about! If two adults ask nicely for a table, even if it's full, then I expect a little more than just a WE DON'T HAVE ONE. Alternative times or the incentive to stay the same would have been very helpful. Then the gentleman in his prime will be happy to spend his money elsewhere! A pity!

When we visit the city, we like to plan a stop at this restaurant. We also liked the lunch offer on Saturdays.

Einmal Eisbeinsülze mit Bratkartoffeln und Salat und einmal Leberkäse mit Spiegelei und Bratkartoffeln gegessen. Beides sehr lecker und empfehlenswert. Urige alte Gaststätte, wo abends auch Stammtische sind und Doppelkopf oder Skat spielen. Das Servicepersonal war sehr nett und man kann hier sehr gut al wieder einkehren. Preise waren gut und nicht zu teuer.

Ondanks de Kerst drukte vond het personeel de tijd voor warmte en vriendelijkheid. Bovendien was het eten uitstekend!

Tolle Atmosphäre, gutes Essen, freundliche und schnelle Bedienung!

Fazit: Kann man machen, für rund 30€ pP inklusive Trinkgeld kann man aber anderswo besser essen. Empfehlung: Mit wenigen Kniffen und sehr geringen Mehrkosten könntet ihr deutlich mehr aus dem Essen rausholen. Der Grünkohl Eintopf war OK, aber schmeckte und sah aus wie aus dem Glas. Dazu gab’s eine Räuchermettwurst, Größe und Geschmack gut. Kasseler Fehlanzeige. Bratkartoffeln auch nicht, dafür Kartoffelstückchen unter den Grünkohl gemischt. Geht schneller und kostet dadurch natürlich auch weniger. Für 20€ pro Portion war uns das aber zu wenig Raffinesse. Satt wurde man von der Portion aber allemal. Das Pilzschnitzel für 22€ war zu stark paniert und dafür zu wenig scharf angebraten. Außerdem definitiv nicht in Butterschmalz, sondern in neutralem Öl - davor siffte auch die Panade, weshalb diese ab dem dritten Bissen dann auch labberig schmeckte. Darüber hinaus hätte das Schnitzel etwas flachgeklopft werden können. Lieber in einer unbeschichteten Pfanne bei stärkerer Hitze in ordentlich Butterschmalz anbraten, das gibt einen besseren Geschmack und lässt den Gast das Schnitzel auch nach dem dritten Bissen noch genießen. Großes Bier (0,5l) mit über 6€ auch ziemlich teuer, dafür frisch gezapft und sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich. Daran gibts nichts zu bemängeln. Letzter Punkt: Ambiente. Ihr könntet für gemütlicheres Licht sorgen, das Licht ist zu kaltweiss für einen so urigen Einrichtungsstil. Alles in allem: war ok aber nix besonderes. Wir werden wohl nicht nochmal wiederkommen.

Very nice and authentic german restaurant located in the city center. Service is great and they did the very best to accommodate us and to speak English. The menu is in german but upon request they can provide an English version too. Food is delicious and portions are big. Price are also ok. Staff is very polite and always smiling. Highly recommended!

Es war ein Besuch eines alten Münsteraner Wirtshaus, wie so oft und viele in Münster. Das Essen war sehr gut 👍, der Service war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Ambiente ist grundsätzlich sehr schön, leider zu Stoßzeiten sehr laut.

Ein westfälischens Gasthaus im typischen Stil trifft es am besten. Wer ein Krüstchen bestellt, der möchte ein kleines Schnitzel. Der riesige Salatberg passt gar nicht dazu! Aber geschmacklich gut! Die Schnitzel waren durch die Bank zu hell, hätten noch ein wenig mehr Röststoffe vertragen. Wir 10 Personen und insgesamt zufrieden mit den Gerichten, Geschmack und Größe. Getränke auf jeden Fall selbst notieren. Das machen wir grundsätzlich, da wir schon öfter im Barcelona Ärger mit der Rechnung hatten! Trotzdem sollten am Schluss 19!!! Bier offen gewesen sein. ??? Wir haben die großen Bier zu 5 getrunken, jeder einzelne hat Striche gemacht.

Wir haben in der Vorweihnachtszeit kurzfristig einen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen sah bei allen sehr schön angerichtet aus. Das Dressing am Salat war etwas sauer, Baguette zum Salat darf bei mir gern warm und knusprig sein. Insgesamt ein schöner Abend hier, nicht zu laut. Wartezeit war auch okay. Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder.

Visited with a bigger group on a Thursday evening. Kitchen is only open until 9 PM. Drinks: I had some “Pflaumen Spritz = Plum Spritzer” which was a bit sour and some “Weinschorle = Wine Spritzer” which was very sour. My colleagues had some beer which had been average. Food: I had some starter which was just small sausage and as main dish a plate with pork meat bacon and potatoes. The taste was good an the size of the portion as well. It came with a small bowl of salad. My colleagues had some other dishes which also tasted good. Especially the French Fries had a very good spice. Ambience Traditional. Huge people need to mind their head on the way to toilet….
