Gegeten op een zonnige zaterdag met heel mooi weer. Vooraf hadden we gereserveerd en binnen een mooi plekje gekregen, overigens kun je niet reserveren voor een plekje op het terras. Er loopt genoeg personeel rond om de boel vlot te laten verlopen, wij hadden een ober die ook een beetje Nederlands sprak. Heel leuk. Het eten kan ik kort over zijn, heel erg goed. Zelf koos ik voor de Schweinehaxe of Eisbein. Deze was super mals bereid en niet te zout, niet vaak heb ik deze zo lekker gegeten. De puree en bij geserveerde zuurkool waren heel zacht. Als nagerecht bessen met vanillesaus, daar kan weinig verkeerd aan zijn.

Wir kommen schon ziemlich lange ins Gasthaus Schumacher. So auch jetzt am Samstag. Wir freuen uns auf ein leckeres Essen und tolle Biere. Auch die Mitarbeiter vom Gasthaus Stuhlmacher sind immer freundlich-schnell und man hat sehr zügig Getränke und Essen auf dem Tisch. Verdursten und verhungern muss hier niemand.

Unterirdischer, unverschämter Service! unser Besuch im Stuhlmacher endete nach 30 Minuten sehr unbefriedigend: nachdem der Ober uns die Karten auf den Tisch "pfefferte" bestellte ich ein Wasser u bat um einen Probierschluck Wein, mein Mann konnte gar nichts bestellen... dann ignorierte der Ober uns 15 Min. völlig...nach 30 Minuten haben wir am Empfang Bescheid gegeben, dass wir gehen würden - da kam er mit Wasser, 1 Glas Wein u 1 Bier. Mein Mann sagte, das hätten wir so nicht bestellt, da beschimpfte er uns massiv und wir sollten umgehend das Lokal verlassen! ein solches Verhalten haben wir nie zuvor irgenwo auf der Welt erlebt...

Es ist eine eigenartige Kombination aus „Kitsch“ (Zinnteller auf dem Regal, Kleiderhaken in Jagdzimmer in Form von Jagdhörnern), „Kunst“ („ 10 x 4 Meter großes Wandgemälde des Lambertusspiels vor der münsterischen Lambertikirche“), Restaurant (mit fünf individuell gestaltete Gasträumen und einer großen Terrasse) oder einfach nur „urige Kneipe“ (der große Schankraum spricht für sich). „Das Stuhlmacher kann auf eine traditionsreiche Geschichte, die im Jahre 1890, mit dem Gastronomen Louis Stuhlmacher, begann, zurückblicken. Seit dieser Zeit befindet sich das Stuhlmacher im Familienbesitz und wird auch heute noch von Familie Feldhaus, mittlerweile in der 4. Generation, geführt.“ - so steht es im Historienteil der Speisekarte, welche solide, aber sehr gute Hausmannskost bietet (Westfälisches Krüstchen für 21,90 Euro oder Westfälisches Zwiebelfleisch für 24,90 Euro). Nicht nur bei Touristen sehr beliebt, daher sicherheitshalber Tisch reservieren.

During a stay at the Atlantic Hotel in Munster we discovered this truly extraordinary place. During the day it has a wonderful traditional Pub atmosphere, and offers excellent food served by very friendly, smiling Staff. We ended up visiting every afternoon to have a drink and eat their marvellous Apfel Strudel. In the evening, upstairs there is a Restaurant that I would categorise as 'Fine Dining'. The food was truly excellent, as was the service, in a wonderful homely atmosphere. But, book a table, as it is popular! I think that we will return to Munster one day, just to spend afternoons in this quaint establishment; and Dine in the evenings, once again.

Das war toll, am Nachmittag hier einzukehren. Wir hatten westfälisches Zwiebelfleisch und Spargel. Das Essen kam zügig und die Bedienung war zuvorkommend.

Leider ist es bei uns schief gelaufen. Der Laden war voll. Was absolut keine Ausrede sein soll. Wir haben ein Guiness Bier bestellt, der uns in schlimmste Kondition zum Tisch gebracht wurde. Meine Schwiegermutter ist mit dem Bier zur Theke gelaufen, und hat den Barkeeper gefragt, ob er der Guiness bitte austauschen kann, und richtig einschenken kann. (Guiness Trinker werden mich verstehen) Ihr wurde geantwortet, dass hier das beste Lokal im Münster für Guiness sei, und es wird hier nicht neu gemacht. Danke für nichts. Sie durfte mit gleichem Glass zurück zum Tisch. Das Essen kam nicht gleichzeitig, und meine Schwiegermutter durfte uns beim Essen angucken. Endlich kam ihr Gericht, wenn wir mit unseren Speisen fertig waren. Kein guter Eindruck, außer der nette Keller hatte Mitleid mit uns, konnte aber die Situation nicht retten. Shade!

Einfach der beste Ort in Münster zum Biertrinken und lecker Essen!

Sehr zu empfehlendes Restaurant. Gute deutsche Küche. Leider war unsere Portion etwas klein und wir sind nicht ganz satt geworden. Ansonsten super Ambiente, leckeres Essen und ein guter Service, so wie man es möchte.

Superbe cuisine authentique allemande tres bon

Sehr leckeres Essen, ich hatte das Rinderfilet mit Pfeffersauce. Es war super lecker, kann ich nur empfehlen! Das Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente ist gutbürgerlich und gemütlich. Das Essen ist etwas teurer, hat aber trotzdem ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Wir waren gestern an einem Dienstag spontan im Stuhlmacher und haben sehr lecker gegessen. Service sehr gut und angenehm. Ambiente sehr schön. Speisekarte nicht zu groß und gute Auswahl. Preislich vollkommen okay.

Tolles Ambiente, große Auswahl vom Fass, sehr aufmerksamer und netter Service. Danke dafür. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr gemütlich und leckeres Essen. Eine sehr aufmerksame Bedienung. Auch das Hausbesuche ist echt empfehlenswert.

Schönes und traditionelles Gasthaus, wo deftige Speisen serviert werden. Das Ambiente ist urig und hat wirklich Charme. Die Bedienungen sind schnell und immer wieder für Scherze aufgelegt, dabei akkurat und nett. Preislich in mittlerem Segment, aber man findet durchaus ein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis, gute Portionsgrößen und schmackhaftes Essen vor. Wir waren in einer Gruppe von 8 mit Reservierung in der Vorweihnachtszeit dort, diese wird dringend empfohlen! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Toller Ort...leckeres Essen...jeden Cent wert!

Rustikal und gemütlich. Das das Essen sehr gut, keine grosse Karte. Aber alles dabei was man sich wünscht für jeden was zu finden. Wünsche werden erfüllt. Sehr nettes Personal. Gutbürgerliche Küche.

Leckeres Essen und immer voll. Typische alteingesessene Kneipe mit freundlicher netter Bedienung, guten Portionen.

Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung - trotz vorweihnachtlichem Massenandrang. Das Essen war hervorragend und reichlich, die Preise sind absolut im Rahmen. Daumen hoch - und gerne wieder!

Das Gasthaus Stuhlmacher hat ein wunderbares Ambiente. Die Speisekarte hat Köstlichkeiten für jeden Gaumen und der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und sehr nett. Ich kehre hier gerne ein.

Die genervten Blicke der Kellner wenn man betont, dass man nur ein 0,2l Getränk haben möchte, waren unnötig. Das Essen war aber einfach top. 10/10

Ich habe selten eine so gute Sülze mit Bratkartoffeln gegessen. Auch die Kürbiscremesuppe war extrem lecker. Der Kellner war sehr aufmerksam und humorvoll. Rundum ein perfekter Abend. Vielen Dank.

Eine Institution in Münster. Sehr klassisch, sehr gediegen, sehe gepflegt. Gehobene westfälische Küche in einem Ambiente aus Omas Zeiten.

Münsters Gasthaus neben dem Rathaus. Geschichte und Lage verpflichten. Und man wird dem bestens gerecht. Immer gerne ins "Stuhls".

Leider war in der Bar kein Platz mehr, wir würden aber draußen auch sehr freundlich bedient.

Haben im hinteren Bereich gesessen dadurch Zugluft und ungemütlich kalt. Im vorderen Bereich sah es sehr einladend aus. Die Reservierung lässt Wünsche offen.

Man kann wunderschön vorm Gasthaus sitzen und hat einen schönen Blick auf die Stadt. Dabei genießt man Getränke und Essen.

We absolutely LOVE this place. The atmosphere and service were amazing. Our waiter knew exactly when we needed him. He was very gracious and super helpful. The food and beer was great. Spoiled New Yorkers were very happy.

You need a reservation!! Great atmosphere and absolutely fantastic food. The smoked trout was one of the finest meals I’ve had in a German restaurant. The salad was fresh and dressed to perfection. Roasted potatoes - yum! And the herbed scrambled eggs were the perfect accompaniment. Awesome!!

We had started our lunch around the corner with a bier, the service was slow so we paid the tab and stumbled into one of the best meals we have had in Germany! My husband had the German Pancakes and I had the Pea Soup and we shared the bread pudding..we ate every bite! The service was great! When we return to the area next, we will definitely will be exploring more of the menu!

It was hard to find a seat and equally hard to order drinks. When they eventually arrived the waiter becane friendlier and we chatted, some people just a little time to warm up! His colleague was obsessed with putting tables and chairs away, which at 17,00 seemed a little premature.

I visited this nice restaurant with a German friend who recommended the place and it was a good recommendation! Typical German and Westfalischen dishes, simply delicious. The waiter who served was very gentle and in general very good service. English spoken without any problem. A place to try!

Well... The food is indeed very, very tasty and it was brought with a friendly smile and in a timely manner, no complaintt there. The only problem seemed to be the roving wasps on the outdoor terrace. They seemed to like our food too and I witnessed the weidest kind of service, funny in a way, however, unusual for someone coming from a different culture. One of the wasps managed to drown in my friend's plate and when we called the waiter for help... he simply fished it out with a spoon and wished us to enjoy our meal. Was I expecting him to replace my friend's serving altogether? Silly me, he had no such ideas! I would not want to under-rate further this restaurant though. It has a too pleasant location and atmosphere otherwise.

The restaurant looks very aristocratic and exquisite but the dishes are normal prized for the center of a historical town. Everything was delicious and large portioned. The beer is also great. The waiter was very polite and helpful, and spoke remarkable English. Go to the second floor - it's more quiet there.

Excellent position on main street, the sun was out , lots of people marching and trumpets playing. All very festive. yes there was room for a Brit to sit and watch and I tried excellent alcohol-free beers with very friendly service. Cannot vouch for the food, but the place was very busy indeed. Friendly, good atmosphere. Recommended.

It's probably unevitable...right in the center of Muenster this Restaurant has to be too expensive in relation to its offer of food and beers. However, the trout fillets - rauchforelle - were a very positive surprise.

Came here for diner. First I sat in the cosy bar. After a few minuten decided tot go go the restaurant part. Didn't regret. Was early, So plenty of place. ordered a Weizen and a schnitzel. Schnitzel came with pommes and a salade. More than enough. Dessert a double espresso and something on the spirits list that made me curiuos. Cigar special, Korn Oder whisky? Well, I don't have an answer, but it sure tasted good!

We had lunch and the food was excellent. Everything we tried was of excellent quality. We ordered a pretzel and beers as appetizer and it home-made hot with butter, delicious. We ordered steak tartar which was excellent too, and a plate of sausages with sauerkraut (very good too). For dessert we had the apple strudel, which is the best one we have ever had! The Restaurant is bar in the front, and it had very good ambient too. The location is perfect right in the main boulevard very close to the Cathedral.

I have just left this restaurant after the most appalling rudeness I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The waiter (the only male) was rude, condescending and obnoxious to the point I asked for the manager and he refused my request. So we left. On the way out I spoke to the manager who profoundly apologised. I would not recommend this restaurant as long as this man works here. Try somewhere else there are many other places in Münster with much better service.

We were visiting Munster for the Christmas market and wanted to enjoy real German food; Stuhlmacher is the place to be. Great portions and nice service. To be recommended but if possible make reservations up front.

Place to look at Muenster’ Main Street and drink beer. Maybe tartare as well, but that’s it. Beer is good as everywhere in Germany, food ok, but nothing impressive, service a bit bored. Why so famous? I have no clue.

Dined in the restaurant. Warm and accommodating service. The food arrived promptly, the kitchen is unpretentious yet delicious. A fine choice for a quiet evening in the principle market.
