We stayed at the RadlRast inn on the way home from our vacation in the Bavarian Forest. We were the only guests on a Wednesday afternoon and were able to choose a nice spot in the large garden. Our children had a lot of fun in the small playground. The service was completely self-service, but that didn't bother us. Not surprising given the general shortage of staff in the catering industry. The food was freshly cooked and was delicious. The trucker schnitzel with the delicious homemade potato salad is highly recommended. Also the homemade chicken nuggets. We can only recommend the restaurant to everyone.

Nice beer garden, delicious food and nice staff.

The first positive thing to mention is the Augustiner Hell on tap. I had a schnitzel with fries, after about 2 hours of waiting it finally came. Looked good at first (a bit few fries) but was unfortunately disabused after the first fries. Unfortunately, the fries were completely cold, the schnitzel was okay, but nothing more. After I waited 2 hours and my friend was put off because they gave him the wrong food and said it would take some time until the right one was ready, I didn't complain about the fries because I was already very hungry. They brought my friend goulash instead of cordeun bleu & as already written above, they just told him if he wanted what he ordered it would now take some time. We thought it was a shame because they only paid him the difference. No apologies, no beer on the house, no discount, unfortunately nothing.

Great beer garden with great homemade food and very nice to sit in!

The beer garden is a diamond in the rough! Big old fruit trees, lots of space, but very unkempt. Hundreds of rotten apples lie on the floor, really completely rotten, which is unpleasant. My currywurst seemed warmed up, of course I can't prove it, but that was my impression. The idea of ​​the whole thing used to be nice, but unfortunately it's no longer recommended.

We had a spontaneous meal at RadlRast this evening after having driven past many times. The goulash with homemade noodles was excellent. My husband had the trucker schnitzel...very tasty. The beer garden with the old, large trees is simply beautiful. We particularly liked the lovely innkeepers. We'll definitely be back.

We met three families with children there. An ideal place where the children can stay busy for hours in the large playground and garden (they can't run away either) and parents can chat in peace without the constant pressure to consume. The food is fresh and tasty, but the portions are a bit small for vegetarians. Fair prices. Then the house even gave out ice cream for the kids, which made them even happier. Thanks to the nice owners.

Nice beer garden, but its potential is not fully exploited. Prices for self-service are way too expensive and you wait a long time for your food, even when there is very little going on. Portions small, but tasted quite good.

Top service, very child-friendly, good hearty food, rustic atmosphere

Super nice staff. BUT: Unfortunately, hygiene measures are a foreign word. Dogs run around in the kitchen, the drink bottles are open at the bar and there are lots of flies buzzing around in the hot temperatures. When pouring, you lick your fingers and the drink runs down your fingers into the glass. As a highlight, my beer glass not only had lipstick residue but also dirt on the inside, which I unfortunately realized too late. After that I was sick for a week. Very unfortunate and very grossly negligent.

We were looking for a “restaurant with a playground” for a stopover with children. Because of the good reviews it was the RadlRast and we were not disappointed. The little one was able to let off steam in the large outdoor area, but we can't say anything about staying indoors with a child in bad weather. Swings, a small carousel and a (according to the host, brand new) large sandpit with sun protection and an endless amount of sand toys could be used, but the slide from earlier pictures seems to have passed away. We got drinks straight away, the food took a while, but it was completely appropriate given that everything didn't seem to have been pre-cooked and it wasn't a snack bar. Everything is always warm and genuinely friendly with a little chat. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by. Until then, we'll keep our fingers crossed that things go well, that the host's commitment pays off and that they can organize a day or two of rest for themselves.

Beautiful beer garden, good food, cold beer and very friendly and funny hosts - what more could you want? Toys were brought out for the children and there was also something to snack on, very nice. We will be happy to come back! Update 2024: have been there several times recently with children and friends and always had a great time. The food is still good and the host thinks for himself - when I ordered for the children, the fries were divided into several plates independently instead of having to pay for two additional portions - just great! Large new sandpit and a new children's carousel are very nice. Children are welcome and the ice cream is on the house. Now come regularly because it is the most beautiful beer garden in Ansbach. And it has to be clearly stated that the two operators manage it without staff! You also have to be understanding if it takes longer (which hasn't been the case so far!).

The beer garden in Ansbach is really great! The entire area is beautifully landscaped and well maintained, which immediately catches the eye. The lawn is perfectly trimmed short and framed by a thick hedge, giving the place a very welcoming atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the large, self-built sandpit, which was great for my grandson to keep busy. There are even beach chairs around the sandpit where you can relax and enjoy an Aperol Spritz while keeping an eye on the children. The entire beer garden is shaded and lies under large, old trees, which is very pleasant on hot summer days. It is completely fenced, which provides additional security and allows children to play carefree. There is plenty of space for children to run around, making the visit particularly attractive for families. Overall, the beer garden leaves an excellent impression. Everything is very well maintained, there is enough space for play and relaxation, and the little details like the relaxation armchairs make the stay particularly pleasant. A recommended place for a relaxing day outdoors! Thank you for the great experience – we will definitely be back!

Unfortunately not like it used to be. Eating relatively small portions for the price and mediocre quality. Dumpling with sauce for the junior (sauce tasted very strongly of wine and the dumpling was half raw. The finished schnitzel was “ok”. Drinks partly without carbonic acid. The large meadow could be used much better for play equipment (slides, swings, trampolines, etc.) Tenants are nice

Very rustic beer garden where children are also welcome. Operator very humorous and funny. The Trucker Schnlizel is amazing. Large schnitzel with 4 fried eggs, bacon, potato salad and mixed salad as a side dish, very tasty. Parking spaces in front of the Lockal and playground where you can let your children run freely and always have them in view no matter where you sit.

I can honestly recommend this Restaurant and especially the Biergarden! The owner speaks english so no problem ordering for foreigners! Enjoy!

We can't understand the many good reviews. Simple pub with moderately good food, not necessarily cheap as everyone eats without salad. The toilets are not particularly clean, only the owners are friendly.

Idyllic beer garden with warm Franconian hospitality! We came by here with our motorhome and were immediately invited to stay in the yard overnight. The garden behind the house is nice and green and cozy and there is a playground for the kids. We made ourselves comfortable under the trees with delicious food and freshly tapped Augustiner and enjoyed the atmosphere. Thank you for the lovely evening and the opportunity to use the toilets. We had a relaxing night in the yard and would love to come back!

By chance we passed by here and stopped in. A very nice innkeeper served us, the boss is in the kitchen. The food came in a reasonable time, the portions were large and very tasty. Unfortunately the beer garden was still closed - we'll take a look at it.

The beer garden behind the house, with the playground for children, is very nice. Unfortunately it was the worst meal I've ever been served in Ansbach. The currywurst, for example, was served with Asian sweet and sour instead of the usual currywurst sauce. The knuckle tasted like older meat, the sauce was probably from the package. There is no service as it is self-service. The innkeeper was nice.

Nice personel. Only self-service in the beer garden. Side salad portion size very small. Waited over 1 hour for the food. Schnitzel tasty, but very thin. Personally, fries weren't my thing.

So the food is very good and also the ambience of the beer garden. But unfortunately I have to say if you come around lunchtime, the whole staff seems a bit overwhelmed and the waiting times for food and drinks increase significantly. It's a shame because the beer garden is really great.

After a mostly cold and wet Sunday in Ansbach, we were looking for a cozy place to stop off, Google showed us the RadlRast. As soon as we got out we were greeted warmly by the innkeeper. The beautiful, handwritten menu didn't make choosing dishes easy; everything sounded delicious. In the end it was bratwurst and brawn, both highly recommended. The prices are extremely down-to-earth, especially given the very good and personal service. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

It's been a long time since we've been back to our old hometown and stopped for dinner at RadlRast. It was super good and the innkeepers were super nice! We will definitely come back there next time.

Very close to Katterbach! Great food and affordable prices, socialable staff and very dog friendly. Their Biergarten is open as of this weekend, but have options for indoor seating too. Limited parking available on site, but easy enough to find street parking. They open early and close late! Worth a trip.

Great food, the trucker schnitzel is the perfect size and tastes very tasty. The fresh carp is just as tasty and large, both dishes are perfect for hungry men. The service is great and I would recommend it to everyone.

Finally a good tenant with really good food, surprisingly extensive menu with always new weekly dishes... outside very lovingly decorated for Easter/spring. Small, clean and cozy inside...always live music...so an absolute recommendation...go and try it out...you can always find parking on the street

I was there yesterday at lunchtime with my little daughter. The cordon bleu was delicious, the fries were nice and crispy, in short: it really tasted very good. The service is warm and familiar, there are toys for children and we felt very comfortable in the rustic ambience of the inn and would be happy to come back.
