Gaststätte Hubertus in Weiden i.d.OPf.

Unfortunately, many things went wrong during our visit over the weekend. We had a reservation for 12:30 pm for 16 people, including 5 children between the ages of 2 and 11. The restaurant was full, but the atmosphere was lovely. It took a while before we could order drinks, which we found acceptable; they arrived shortly before 1:00 pm. At 1:09 pm, as the server later confirmed, the food order was taken. The first main course (the soup arrived a little earlier) came shortly before 2:00 pm – but not for the children, who had to watch the adults eat (they shared ;-) ). Even the portion of dumplings with gravy arrived later, unfortunately only after we asked the server for it. So we had to enjoy our food bit by bit – while the first few had already finished their salad and main course, the rest of us didn't get our salad until 15 minutes later. Drinks were completely forgotten. The roast beef with onions looked delicious. Unfortunately, the fish didn't arrive medium as ordered, but was very dry. When we spoke to the staff about the situation, there was neither regret nor apology, but rather comments like, "Large groups have to wait," "Waiting 45 minutes for a meal is fine," "The table next to us got their food before us because there were only two of them," and so on. As we were leaving, one server turned away from us without even saying goodbye. The second server was talking about us and complaining to other guests. It was an outrageous experience that we won't soon forget. What a shame.

The worst service I've had in a restaurant in ages. Food was served after 1 hour and 20 minutes, even though we had asked for the children to be served sooner. Everyone else in the restaurant was being served, but not us. When we asked, they said the food was coming right up, then another 20 minutes passed... absolutely awful.

The food here is really, really good. I highly recommend it. Excellent value for money! 👍👍👍👍👍 I tried everything. The potato salad is very good, and the Schnitzel Milano is also top-notch. The bread rolls were super crispy and simply delicious. The roast beef with onions wasn't cooked medium, but it was still fantastic, and the sauce was divine. The portions are large and perfectly proportioned. The staff is very friendly; you feel very comfortable. 👍👍👍👍

We eat here at least once a week because we simply love the food. The portions are large and plentiful, and the food is truly delicious. I dare say they have the best fries in all of Weiden. The owners are very friendly and a dream come true, fulfilling every wish. The food is top-notch, as is the service. In the summer, there's a lovely beer garden with great music. A truly wonderful, quaint, and cozy restaurant. The food was delicious, piping hot, and filling. The staff were friendly, even though there was a large group next door.

We had a reservation for 10 people. It was full, but everything went relatively quickly and without any problems. Small extra requests were no problem. Our waitress was really attentive, friendly, and personable. We had liver dumpling soup, onion roast beef, pork, sour and veal roast, schnitzel Milano, and a simple breaded schnitzel. Ice cream and Kaiserschmarrn. And really, everything was absolutely delicious. Everyone in the family was happy with the meal. The roast beef was wonderfully tender. The dumplings were fresh and fluffy. I had the onion roast beef, which was really worth its 23.90. It was so good. The meat was nice and pink, the fries were fresh, and, above all, the fried onions weren't bitter. The sauce was a dream, without being over the top. My uncle is a fan of sauerbraten, and it completely won him over. The desserts were also perfectly fine. Especially, finally, someone who offers a single scoop of ice cream. Because sometimes you just want a little something. The wine spritzer was also quite tasty. A good selection of schnapps, too. We left happy and full, and our love handles were happy too 😉😄

Hello, I ate at your place yesterday with a larger group of 12 people. Unfortunately, I didn't get my food until about 15 minutes later, after everyone else had already received theirs. Also, the dish was only lukewarm – a little warmer would have been nice, but it was still okay. What was a bit inconvenient, however, was that only two people could pay the bill by card, which made the payment process quite long. When paying in cash, we also wanted a receipt, which wasn't possible at first. After some back and forth with the staff, we finally got it, but it took a while. The 2 stars go to the food and the payment method in general. I waited an extra 15 minutes, and it still wasn't warm enough. I didn't see the point in complaining again and waiting another 15 minutes.

We called and made a reservation, specifically mentioning that we were coming with a toddler under 2 years old. They said it wouldn't be a problem, it would be a good fit. Then, when we arrived, the "boss" seemed so stressed and irritated, it was really unpleasant to watch. And then, at our table, she came back in an irritated tone, saying that the meal would take at least an hour. That wouldn't have been a problem in itself, but it was unreasonable with a toddler. Instead of telling us this over the phone! We would have gone somewhere else! Definitely not family-friendly, and I won't be visiting this restaurant again, especially because of the "boss's" unfriendly, stressed manner!

It took a little longer during our evening visit but the food was freshly prepared and very tasty.

A truly beautiful and quaint restaurant. The food is delicious Bavarian style, and the staff is very friendly. A mixed salad is included with the meal. Prices are fair, and the portions are generous. It took a while for the food to arrive, but we were informed of this from the start. If I lived in this area, I would definitely come here more often.

Update: July 5, 2025 We were here again today. And we have to say, everything was great, even very good! Every single meal tasted excellent. Miriam, our server, was in a great mood, friendly, and on the ball :) The beer garden is great, and the playground was fantastic for the kids. So we absolutely recommend both the food and the ambiance. Now we'd love to come back more often <3 We were unfortunately a little disappointed with the food. We had the finger food plate for €9 for the kids... unfortunately, it was fried far too long, making it extremely dark and dry. The kids didn't want to eat it. When we complained about it, we were simply told it was the breading. The Milanese schnitzel tasted good, though. Nevertheless, we won't be coming back anytime soon because €9 for a few fries was simply too much. The service was a bit out of sorts, but friendly!

Tucked away in the woods and farms outside of Weiden. They have everything… all of the traditional German food you could want. And Zoigl.

We stopped in spontaneously. Super nice, great atmosphere, and excellent service. The food was delicious, and we even used aluminum foil to take the leftovers home. Highly recommended.

Very tasty schnitzel and interesting variations, especially the schnitzel with cranberries and Camembert. The side dishes were also good, although a bit less than expected. The side salad wasn't so great; I have no idea who likes cold green beans ;) I also appreciate that they serve hot food as early as 4 pm on some days. Nicely furnished dining room.

We always enjoy coming back to this charming restaurant for a meal. There's also outdoor seating, which is covered and offers shade in the summer. The service is attentive and friendly; usually, the drinks and food arrive quickly. My personal favorite is the roast beef with onions, fries, and salad.

Waiting time for a reserved table. Waited two hours for the food. The service was completely indifferent. Ordered food was partially canceled at short notice because they had run out. We had to choose alternatives. First and last visit.

We went to Hubertus on Friday after a long absence and had shashlik with homemade sauce and fries. The food was really very good! But the service!!! First, the overcrowded table had to be cleared by the previous guests. The first drink and the shashlik were served quite quickly. We would have liked a second, maybe a third beer, and dessert, but even after ordering and reminding them several times, the waiter simply didn't come out. Other guests also went back to the bar several times to remind them. It's a shame, we won't be coming back anytime soon, because you look forward to a cozy evening with two or three good beers and then you get nothing...

Very long extreme waiting time for a schnitzel with fries over an hour waiting time....that's too much

We were completely satisfied with everything. Schnitzel day on Monday. Great value for money. They also have many interesting schnitzel variations. The service was quick and friendly. Everything was clean. We'll definitely be back!

We were there on a Sunday (after making a reservation by phone) and were warmly welcomed. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and perfectly plentiful. They also offer vegan options, which my daughter really enjoyed. I'd be happy to come back.

After only being here once for a Christmas party, I absolutely wanted to come back. The food at that Christmas party was absolutely delicious. The four of us came and made a last-minute reservation (which was really necessary, because otherwise every table would have been full). The drinks came quickly, the food took a little longer, but that wasn't a problem; everything was freshly made and absolutely delicious. The men ate their fill of the schnitzel/cordon bleu variations, while my sister ordered a daily special (fried mushrooms with salad, a delicious dip, and baguette), and I ordered a currywurst. We were all incredibly satisfied and happy. We will definitely come back. Very friendly, welcoming, delicious, lovely, cozy atmosphere...

Wir waren sehr enttäuscht, wir waren mit mehreren Personen zum Abendessen verabredet. Bei der Ankunft in der Gaststätte Hubertus stand am Eingang auf der Terrasse ein riesengroßer Ständer, darauf stand, dass ab sofort keine Hunde mehr erlaubt sind. Bei der Tischreservierung wurde nicht auf die Änderung hingewiesen, so dass man davon ausgehen konnte, dass wir bisher Hunde erlaubt sind. Natürlich sehr ärgerlich, denn wenn man den Hund bereits dabei hat, kann man ihn auch nicht bei Minusgraden im Auto lassen! Wir haben dann mit befreundeten Familien ein anderes gutes Lokal gewählt, dort war nicht nur unser Geld gerne gesehen, sondern auch unsere Hunde willkommen. Wir werden natürlich auch ohne Hund nicht wieder kommen.

We reserved tables for Christmas Day at the end of October according to the current menu. The prices changed three times before the day of our meal! Furthermore, there was no Christmas decoration. Side dishes, although pre-ordered, were unavailable. Some of the staff seemed overwhelmed. Merry Christmas! Never again!

We were there on December 7, 2024, with 20-25 people for a Christmas party. The service and the food were excellent! The food was exceptionally delicious! The service was very friendly and always smiling, and they were also very kind to the children at the table across the hall. The manager was also very nice and friendly. Thank you for the lovely evening; we will definitely be back! :-)

Very nice and cozy inn. The food is excellent, tastes very good and is affordable. There are also enough parking spaces, I would like to come back.

We ate here because of its proximity to the highway. It is a typical regional restaurant with a tendency towards a tavern. Therefore it can be quite loud when other guests are talking. We were served friendly and quickly. We enjoyed the food and were pleasantly surprised by the value for money.

We ate very well yesterday. The schnitzels were incredibly tasty 😋 and the ice cream sundae at the end left nothing to be desired.

We felt very uncomfortable in the restaurant. The table reservation was on a Sunday at 1 p.m. We are happy to accept the longer waiting time for a table, drinks and food. However, 15 minutes after finally ordering the dishes (roast and soup), we were informed that apart from a portion of roast venison, there were no more roasts and that we would have to change our order to schnitzel. The service staff were very helpful. We continued to wait for our food. About 15 more minutes later the landlady came and told us that there was no more soup. The landlady reacted to our disappointment with the statement: "If there are no more roasts, she can't give us any more." We found the landlady's choice of words inappropriate and offensive. In retrospect, we should have left the restaurant because of the landlady's reaction. Since it was a birthday dinner and the service staff were at least very friendly, we stayed. Our schnitzels came at around 2:10 p.m. These weren't great, but quite ok.

We received a very friendly welcome upon arrival. We were 9 people and therefore needed 2 tables (we hadn't reserved). However, this wasn't a problem and the operation was and 2 together. We then ordered the drinks and shortly afterwards the food. My Viennese style schnitzel was very tasty and large. Would definitely come here again.

Schnitzel with fries was good. I had roast pork with bread dumplings and a potato dumpling. Bread dumplings were good, the meat was good, but the sauce wasn't that good to my taste.

The ambience and the service were great, the food was unfortunately only semi-good, the salad wasn't the freshest and unfortunately I had a little animal in the salad... the salad was only dressed with vinegar and water, not a drop of oil The main course made up for it, the onion grill was very tasty

Unfortunately it was messed up for the third time, Viennese style schnitzel, thin and dry like the soles of a shoe Mushrooms from the can, in the sauce and back then the pumpkin soup was similar to a vegetable broth. Won't be coming back, it's a shame

One of the best schnitzels I’ve had in Germany.

Went for lunch last Sunday. The location is great, staff friendly. I don't know when I've ever eaten so badly. The salad tasted and looked nothing special. The dumplings are a finished product, the sauce from Maggi is definitely stirred in, We honestly ask ourselves where the 4.5 stars come from?

It tasted great and the portions are large. It's worth going. When the weather is nice there is only a beer garden.

We had reserved a table at 7:30 p.m. and wanted to order ice cream for dessert later, shortly before 9 p.m. Unfortunately this was no longer possible as the kitchen had already closed. We decided on a cappuccino to finish. Also not possible because the machine had already been cleaned. We then went for a cup of coffee. It's best to reserve earlier if you plan to eat dessert. The food is good and the staff are friendly.

I was really impressed by the vegan offer - I hadn't even had the inn on my radar. I can finally go out to eat with my family without being handed a sad salad. Mandatory for vegans in the area, just as a matter of principle! Thanks for the culinary inclusion :)

The conditions were already overwhelming with a half-empty restaurant, drinks arrived after 20 minutes. Food not recommended: roast without crust and the meat, well, I'd rather not say anything more about that. The side salad tasteless, made with water and vinegar without oil, the beans were from a can. The potato salad in the other dish was ice cold and tasted just as bad as the other salad. Conclusion once and never again.

Overall it was okay but nothing special, as evidenced by the fact that only 3 of 20 tables were occupied on Saturday evening. The side dishes were frozen, the schnitzel was dry and lost all of its breading. The prices were overpriced compared to other restaurants but the portions were a bit too large. The modern ambience does not suit a restaurant with Bavarian cuisine.

Wanted to spontaneously eat something on Sunday evening. The waitress assigned us a table in the beer garden. After about 10 minutes we were kicked out by the very unfriendly boss - with the words "all tables are already reserved." We then left the beer garden without saying a word. No apology or anything - nothing. Hubertus NEVER AGAIN

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Weiden. A bit out of the way on the edge of the forest and no traffic noise. The food corresponds to slightly better Upper Palatinate standards. The salad is lightly seasoned, which is typical for Upper Palatinate, but you get everything you need to add more seasoning.

We've been there a few times now, we're super satisfied, the waitresses are very friendly and try to make everything possible. Also very friendly to the children

We spontaneously got a table in the outdoor area for 6 people. The order for the food and drinks was taken quickly, the 45 minute wait for the food was very long. The food was good, but the price was a bit too high. 6xfood 6xdrinks 120€

Older restaurant in the Bavarian tavern style with a beer garden. Service was very friendly, courteous and quick. Eat very good Bavarian cuisine. Reservations are advisable, especially on Sundays/public holidays. Also very informative via Facebook with the Sunday menu and events such as eating ribs, fish dinners and various music events. 😊🍽️👍

Unfortunately the service wasn't on point. The question about the allergen card was acknowledged but an allergen card was not brought. And a sausage salad for 9 euros that wasn't even close to that value isn't nice. The sausage was cut particularly thinly to make it look like more. The waiting time was also almost an hour.

Waren heute zum Mittagessen. Hab nichts zu meckern. Der Schweinebraten lecker wie zu Hause, der Rostbraten zart und auf den Punkt gebraten. Kompliment. Sehr zu empfehlen. Die Bedienungen freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Essen war gut und wirklich reichlich. Beim Salat könnte das Dressing geschmacklich noch verbessert werden. In Summe dennoch ein sehr gutes Angebot.
