We called a few days ago to see if we could come with 28 people and we just said come. Yesterday everything was closed.

Good pasta, a little overcooked for my taste.

Amazing service and pasta, as always in Vapiano. The service here was very polite, fast and welcoming.

Delicious Reef n' beef and Caesar salads. Ordered an extra portion of chicken for the Caesar salad, but portions are very small for the price. Rucola-senf sauce is a must for the Reef n' beef salad. Cleaning of the tables can improve. Good service.

It was my first time in a Vapiano and I was really impressed. Despite the fact that we weren't familiar with the ordering system there, the employee there took the time to calmly explain everything to us. There is a very large selection of food and there is something for everyone. Also highly recommended for vegetarians and vegans! The food is freshly prepared, tastes very tasty and the portions are very large. The ambience here is also very great, there is a large selection of seats. Only recommended!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant after my visit last week. First of all, our order came way too late despite the restaurant being empty, which left a bad impression. Unfortunately, the taste of the dishes was only average and in no way corresponded to the high prices charged here. However, what bothered us the most was the lack of cleanliness. The floor was sticky and the toilets were in an unkempt condition, which negatively affected the entire experience. The only thing that should be highlighted positively is the friendliness of the staff, but unfortunately that alone is not enough to overlook the many shortcomings.

After numerous inspiring visits, I am confidently giving the Vapiano in Freiburg the top rating of 5 stars. The modern, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant captivates you from the start. The self-service restaurant concept creates a pleasantly relaxed and uncomplicated dining culture. But above all, the quality of the food always impresses me. No matter whether you choose a delicious pizza, an aromatic pasta or a fresh salad - everything is prepared here with the freshest ingredients and impresses with its authentic taste. The kitchen team really knows how to skilfully showcase the tradition of Italian cuisine. The service at Vapiano Freiburg is also exemplary. The employees are always friendly, attentive and competent. Even when there are larger crowds, you feel well looked after. Overall, the Vapiano offers a really successful dining experience that inspires me every time.

If I need something quick to eat in Freiburg, Vapiano is one of my favorite places to go. The pasta is delicious and the prices are more than fair. The restaurant offers the typical Vapiano standard that is also known from the branches in other cities.

Waited 10 minutes inside at the reception, no greeting, no hello, then left and went somewhere else, as the Vapiano probably doesn't need to greet or serve potential guests.

One of the worst Vapiano branches is that you order through a cashier and then wait until the order is finished. Do not speak directly to the order preparer for any instructions of your own. The quality of the food is much lower than the branches in Austria and the surrounding areas.

A nice restaurant on the edge of the beach. Usually designed for a Vapiano, there is also seating outside. However, the seats inside are much nicer than the seats outside. The food was ready quickly and tasted good. However, the ambience outside was not optimal. Located close to the road and quite restless.

The food itself is good, but two people in service sell the lunch (correct emphasis! One could have understood) for 15.15 euros instead of 12.50. I've experienced this twice

Quite tasty, BUT when ordering to go, despite asking, the Chicken Delight Salad turned into "without black olives" and "with olives, no risotto, no onions, no peppers", without pretty much everything that sets it apart from the simple Chicken Mango very disappointing The money is too good for that

Interesting place serving pizza and pasta. Order at the bar, collect when ready and pay when you leave. Was a dry haven on a wet afternoon in Freiburg.

We have been customers since opening more than 15 years ago. Today we had our last meal at Viapiano Freiburg. Unappetizing food, overpriced drinks, unqualified staff, dirty toilets. We waited about 5 minutes to pay because the person who had to cash us preferred to fill his boxes with used dishes. He had seen us but preferred to let us wait. We are a long way from the friendly students and appetizing plates of the early days of the Viapiano concept. Freiburg has many nice little restaurants so I advise you to avoid Viapiano. Notice to the owner: spend a little more time in your restaurant and sit down instead of the customer.

The food was decent but it was super hot inside. Probably because the building has a glass window facing the street.

For me it's a wonderful mix of restaurant and canteen. The dishes were excellent every time. The atmosphere is cozy and encourages you to stay longer. Unfortunately there were still slight communication difficulties at the counter. I'd love to come back.

If you like it relaxed, this is the place for you. If you look around a little unsure because you are not yet familiar with the concept, you will be spoken to in a friendly manner and provided with enough menus and plastic cards. It is kindly pointed out that you can choose a seat of your choice and that self-service is recommended. You use the plastic card to get a drink at the bar and study the menu, which shows you the composition of your dishes. With this and your plastic card you go to the order taker, who also accepts special requests such as “a little spicier and garlic”. When the provided “beeper” answers, the food is ready to be picked up. It met my expectations, there was nothing to complain about. Our orders were correctly recorded on the plastic card and we paid on the way out. It was very stress-free, no "snapping of fingers" after service. Anyone who needed something just got it. P.S. We were there with a dog, which didn't cause any problems.

Food good, staff seems chaotic when ordering/serving food. However worth recommending!

We had to wait a very long time to be served even though the restaurant was empty. The staff was uninterested and we had to wait a long time for the food. The food was so-so. The pinsa dough was very hard and generally lacked flavor. This is no longer comparable to Vapiano's previous standard.

Really tasty and aesthetically pleasing dishes. In terms of price it was also absolutely fair. We can definitely recommend a visit here! The service employee behind the counter (because self-service) was also very friendly.

Very good gluten free pizza. No air conditioning in the restaurant. The cocktail was simple and I could barely feel the alcohol.

We decided to visit Vapiano because they also offer gluten-free dishes. The employees are trained in dealing with intolerances/celiac disease, which gives you a feeling of security. The price-performance ratio for the food is okay. Small children can be “parked” in the play area. We are pleased that we have found a place to go for gluten-free dishes here. Unfortunately, these are rare in Freiburg.

It was our first time at Vapiano and it was a 10 out of 10 in everything. I think it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever tasted. Absolutely recommended. The staff is also super nice and helpful. Ambiance and toilets great. Definitely not the last time there. Only recommended

The salad was not fresh and pasta was overcooked, very disappointed for the price

Great if you're traveling with children. They can play in a spacious area while the parents can (usually) eat in peace. You keep an eye on the children. The service staff don't seem to mind if children are a little louder or get in the way. On the contrary, there was a present for the little ones. But I have one question: Onions in spaghetti carbonara??? Which was very pleasant, since I could already read that when I ordered, I ordered my dish without onions, which wasn't a problem. So you can be sure that everything is freshly prepared! The spaghetti was a bit too al dente for me. For this reason and because of the onions, which don't belong in the original recipe, a (half) star deduction.

The location is pretty good. What I don't like about the “pizza” Diavolo is that it was too dry and way too small for a “pizza” that costs almost €16. The tables are not always clean, the cutlery and plates from the previous person are lying around for ages. Looks a bit messy. Staff is friendly.

Actually everything was good. Unfortunately the waiting time was a bit long for lunch. From the time we entered the restaurant until we had our food, it took at least 30 to 45 minutes. That was quite long. The taste and service are top notch. So if you have some time, highly recommended.

Tastes good here. Lots of pasta sauces to choose from. Very toddler-friendly because of the play area and extra children's meals.

Fresh goods, homemade pasta, but it took forever and unfortunately the taste was nothing special, rather very poor. Hardly any minced meat in the bolo, noodles totally stuck together and hardly any sauce. Not very convincing for the amount paid.

A typical Vapiano from the past. Except now you stand in line at a checkout and order. Then you have to get the food when it's ready. So it's a mix of a fast food restaurant and a normal restaurant. But there are still the good Vapiano dishes. If the weather is nice you can also sit outside. All in all a very solid restaurant and recommended

I used to like it, but on my last visit I was disappointed. Not many choices of pasta shape available. A woman that wasn't a customer was able to enter, and started to annoy us, had to ask her to leave us alone (I had to say rude words in German to her as she wasn't stopping annoying us), I would expect the restaurant to take care of it, and better control who gets inside. Anyway I won't visit anymore, already they stopped making calzone pizza, and pasta quality started to decrease.

Hello folks. We were at the Vapiano in Freiburg today. Staff very nice. Food was good, but portions were too small. The drinks are way too expensive for a self-service restaurant. To charge €5.60 for a 0.5l wheat beer and €3.30 for a 0.25l water is very cheeky. I definitely won't eat there with my wife again unless the drink prices go down again

If pasta is no longer available shortly after 8 p.m., you shouldn't be surprised why you're in bankruptcy proceedings again. Response to the owner's response: How my recession can be interpreted as a “desire to fail” is a mystery to me. A guest who wishes your company to fail would hardly be a customer anymore. But perhaps your answer can explain the past economically turbulent years. Addendum: In order to fulfill the owner's wish for a friendlier review, it should be mentioned that if there is pasta, it is really good!

The food was very tasty and was visibly freshly cooked. Clean toilets, nice large and open rooms, everything is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great price for the quality. Can recommend vapiano without reservation! It's best to travel by public transport, then you can not only enjoy a great meal, but also take a walk through the old town afterwards.

I can say that some of the employees are friendly, some are sullen. Pizza presentation, taste and quality of ingredients are good. The seating areas are unique, but the lack of reclining facilities is disturbing. These may need to be revised. We ate pizza and pasta and we liked it very much. Waiting time was approximately 10 minutes. Sinks are located downstairs. There is also a pub area. I can say that the tables were clean. The ambiance was also perfect as it was full glass area and the ceiling was high.

It used to be very good. Currently no longer recommended at all. Employees do not follow the recipe instructions and are always in a bad mood. It's no longer fun and it's not worth the money. There are always new and better alternatives.

Unfortunately, Vapiano has changed and is no longer what it once was. It seems that there are cuts in personnel; This was particularly noticeable during lunchtime, when only a single person was responsible for both taking orders and checking out.

It's actually a really tasty salad, but I had a piece of chicken in a "vegan" salad and that doesn't work at all. A pity.

How can it be that I order a vegan pasta and I get it with real cheese?! This isn't the first time I've seen this. There was then another new pasta, but with the most burnt and black pine nuts that I could have gotten. The shift/restaurant manager had no understanding, did not understand the problem due to a lack of knowledge of German and only apologized when asked.

No longer the efficient Vapiano concept that you know, where the food is prepared right in front of you. Instead, you have to stand in line to order and then wait at your seat for over 20 minutes for the food before you can pick it up yourself. There are enough staff, but they would rather devote themselves to other things. The toilet, for example, is still not clean. Not surprisingly, the chain is dying out. A pity.

Has lost a lot of its former charm with the new setup. Food was ok. But the new system is not customer friendly. You stand in line, order food for three people while standing and then get three tickets even though you only need one. Then you pick up the food yourself and you're done. This is miles away from what Vapiano used to be and had a uniqueness that made the customer experience unique. Today it is an expensive self-service restaurant...nothing more, nothing less.

A few years ago, the place was spotless the last time we visited, it’s really changed, it’s a shame. I had the impression that the place was abandoned, very very very dirty, for a very dirty piano. Damage

Portions are significantly smaller, the taste is okay, prices are increased (you understand this aspect due to the current situation) One employee was very unfriendly and seemed very tired (12 noon). Toilet was just cleaned, floors were still wet, condition and cleanliness very disgusting 🤢. There is a lot that can be improved here!

Gut organisiert, wobei wir auch frühzeitig da waren. Ab 19 Uhr stand man Schlange… leckere Pinsa, frische Zutaten, nicht günstig aber lecker.

Der Mann der meine Bestellung aufnahm war so nett, dass ich die nicht gewischten Tische, die nicht so saubere Toilette und die Tatsache, dass ich über 5 Minuten gebraucht habe um den Eingang zu finden gerne vergesse🥰 das Essen war auch sehr lecker und das WLAN funktioniert gut😄

War eher ein schlechter Vapiano. Keine lokale guten Bierspezialitäten. Falsche Nudeln gekocht und da es ein Feiertag war, gab es kein Salat und hat 30 min. gedauert. Apfelsaftschorle war auch ausverkauft.

Ich kann diesen Laden nicht gerade empfehlen wenn man hungrig ist, denn die Wartzeiten auf das Essen können schon so in Richtung von einer Stunde gehen. Das Essen ist auch sehr fettig und kommt kalt an - nicht empfehlenswert!!!!!

Die Qualität hat sehr nachgelassen. Warum steht auf der Karte Riesengarnelen, wenn es gar keine sind. Aber bedenklich finde ich, dass die Preise stets steigen. Die Preisleistung stimmt meiner Meinung nach überhaupt nicht. Kein Wunder mussten so viele Filialen schliesse . Schade schade schade

Das Konzept ist offensichtlich völlig am Ende. Viel zu wenig Personal - und das wenige Personal ist offenbar sehr schlecht geschult. Das Barmann ist mit 4 Getränken überfordert. Bis die Tische mal abgeräumt werden, vergeht ungelogen über eine halbe Stunde. Man muss über 15 min anstehen um Essen zu bestellen und dann noch 20 min warten, bis mal es bekommt. Vapiano war echt mal eine tolle Sache. Aber so hat es leider keine Zukunft…

The food is good and the atmosphere is nice, but the service is really bad. I'm a tourist and I don't speak German, only English. Some employees didn't make a point of serving my wife and me well, even though they spoke English. It was possible to see that they spoke English, but that they weren't very willing to serve us well. Freiburg is a tourist city, so these employees shouldn't be bothered by this.

Super, dass es glutenfreie Gerichte gibt. Der Kräuter Tee war unerwartet super lecker, ruhige Atmosphäre, kein Problem den Hund mit zu nehmen, gerne wieder

Salat Nizza war zu kalt aber grundsätzlich ok. Soaghetti arrabiata mit Garnelen zu pampig. Schade, früher wars deutlich besser. Weiß nicht, woran es liegt, am allgemeinen Personalmangel???

Sehr gemütlich , die Pasta ist immer frisch und schmeckt sehr gut . Die Räumlichkeiten sind hell und ansprechend . Ich kann diese Lokalität wärmstens empfehlen !Absolut empfehlenswert.

Ich finde, dass dieser Vapiano und Vapiano generell doch irgendwie nachgelassen hat. Zu wenig Personal und deswegen überfordert, der Laden schmutzig. Das Essen wird nicht mehr vor deinen Augen zubereitet, was ich immer toll fand. Aber natürlich das Essen an sich ist gut, Pasta war lecker, da gibt es nichts zu meckern :)

Sowohl Essen als auch Location sind gut. (Bisschen Würze fehlt) Das Personal lässt mit seiner Unfreundlichkeit allerdings zu wünschen übrig.

Das Essen war super, ich hatte einen Salat. Der Service war langsam und wirkte desinteressiert.

Salate waren sehr lecker. Es gab keine Messer mehr und wir wurden etwas mürrisch zur Bar geschickt, damit wir dort das Besteck holen konnten. Zum bezahlen standen wir einige Minuten auf weiter Flur alleine, bis wir uns beim Personal am Ausgang bemerkbar gemacht haben. Vielleicht wären auch hier QR-Codes am Platz zum bestellen gut?! Danke !!

Gute Auswahl, nette Ausgabe und Essen schmackhaft. Tische sollten schneller abgeräumt und besser gereinigt werden.

Unfreundliche Angestellte, haben unser Essen an andere Kunden abgegeben, welche nach uns bestellten, als wir versucht haben das zu klären kam nur Unverständnis. Essen ist echt gut, leider lange Wartezeiten und nicht vorhandener Service. Edit: waren heute nochmal da, sind dieses Mal positiv überrascht vom Team, daher Anpassungen der Bewertung.

Die Bestellung war chaotisch, teilweise muss man sich drei Mal wiederholen. Die hauseigenen Gerichte kennen sie nicht. Für den Preis sind die Portionen winzig. Und 95% des Gerichts sind Nudeln. Nie wieder.

Vapiano ist eigentlich eine gute Adresse. Allerdings haben wir diesmal glutenfreie Pinsa bestellt, aber keine glutenfreie Pinsa erhalten wie sich im Nachhinein herausgestellt hat. Das Personal lachte uns einfach aus und haben sich weder entschuldigt noch sind sie auf dieses Thema näher eingegangen. Menschen mit Intoleranz = Absolute Vorsicht!!! Salat war überhaupt nicht frisch. Bedienung rannte meist planlos und verirrt im Laden rum. Toilette ist ein absoluter Wahnsinn = es stinkt wie auf einer Frankfurter Bahnhofstoilette. Der Uringeruch ist beissend und nicht tragbar für ein Restaurant. Das Ambiente ist toll, nur die Tische werden nicht sofort abgeräumt. Somit entsteht ein ein chaotischer Eindruck. Die deutsche Sprache ist dort nicht die führende Sprache. Schade insgesamt.....

Man begrüßte uns freundlich und erklärte meiner Begleitung das Konzept. Essen war schnell und zügig da & schmeckte auch sehr gut. Jedoch stand meine Pasta wohl schon länger, denn meine Soße hatte eine Haut gebildet und war etwas eingezogen in die Nudeln
