Great pepper schnitzel...generally great cuisine, very nice people ..

Luckily we had reserved for 4 people, because after we were able to sit down in a pleasant atmosphere it became more and more crowded, which was good for a reason. To put it briefly: "Reasonable prices with very good food and service!"

We were there for a celebration, the order was taken quickly and the drinks came quite quickly. The food took a while, but I would like to say that everyone tasted really good and from the look of everything, it was freshly prepared. Would I go again? Yes definitely. But then I'll let myself go and try the large selection of whiskeys 😉.

Excellent schnitzels, nothing off the shelf. There is also a huge selection of whiskeys and delicious beers. The prices are very moderate. Highly recommended.

An extraordinary tasting of Japanese whiskeys! I had the pleasure of attending a Japanese whiskey tasting and it was a true voyage of discovery! The selection of whiskeys was impressive and demonstrated the versatility and sophistication of Japanese distillation. From light floral notes to deep, complex aromas of oak and dried fruits, each whiskey was unique and intriguing. The host was a true expert and not only conveyed the craft behind each whiskey, but also exciting insights into the traditions and philosophy behind the production of Japanese whiskeys.

Went there for dinner today and were lucky to get a table since we hadn't reserved a table. Service and food were great, we would love to come back.

Rustic atmosphere, but everything was clean! Very tasty food. I had a really great piece of meat on my plate, rump steak on point, great quality. The rest of the family had various schnitzels and everyone enjoyed them very much.

We were passing through, so we didn't make a reservation, but it was still possible to get something to eat. Delicious food! Friendly service. We will certainly remember this Gasthof for our next 'transit'. Thank you!

Unfortunately, we were tempted by the many positive reviews to reserve a table there. When we arrived we noticed that the atmosphere was run down and there was a musty smell. There were no menus, and you had to search for the dishes on the homepage using your cell phone - that didn't fit in with the rest. When the food came, we found that the schnitzels were burnt, the boiled potatoes had been stored in the refrigerator for a long time and were green and obviously were warmed up again... Bah. The sauce tasted like Maggi powder. The service was also just mediocre. All in all not recommended.

We were there spontaneously today without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. Nice, quiet outdoor atmosphere and very tasty schnitzel with pepper cream and mushroom sauce, side dishes of croquettes and French fries also very good and a fresh salad in advance..., everything was good and very tasty, drinks were well chilled and service was very friendly, parking spaces There are enough available and our little dog was also welcome...., we will definitely be back soon.....

Welcomed by very nice staff, delicious beer, schnitzel juicy and crispy with homemade mushroom sauce and so delicious crispy fried potatoes. Salad dressing 1a. Also worth mentioning is the friendly supply of water for my 🐕. Thanks for that I regret that I'm not a whiskey drinker. Rarely have I seen such an incredible selection. Connoisseurs should definitely stop by here.

Unfortunately, rustic German cuisine is becoming increasingly rare! Despite no reservation, the reception was friendly and we had a table after a few minutes. The map is well laid out, additional menus can be accessed via barcode. The food was excellent and is freshly prepared to order, so it comes to the table together. We had 2x schnitzel "Scottish", salad with turkey strips and the gold digger plate, all excellent! We stopped by again the next evening, which should be telling enough... This time we had the grill plate a la Ziegelhütte twice with extra Scottish sauce, Wienerschnitzel with fried potatoes and a Mediterranean vegetable pan, everything again to the point and damn tasty. Many dishes come with a salad plate, fresh and delicious. We'll be back in a few days, this time with a reservation. Here you can enjoy good Scottish whiskey or arrange a tasting. Great location. Absolute recommendation.

Been there again for a long time. SERVICE is super friendly, there was nothing to complain about. We made reservations and were allowed to choose whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. Food was ok, nothing special. But Pr2i's performance was good and 2 out of 4 people were full. The other two would have liked a little more. I found the side salad very good, croquettes very tasty. Schnitzel could have been a bit crispier. But overall satisfied with 13 out of 15 points.

The “Gasthof zur Ziegelhütte” in Idstein is definitely worth a visit. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a great restaurant with great food and excellent service.

A very honest, down-to-earth cuisine and not in a negative sense. We eat there on Sundays as often as possible. Please be sure to reserve in advance otherwise you won't have a chance of getting a table, it's really very busy and everything is freshly prepared!!! Price-performance is 1A+ I can only recommend whiskey testing ❤️. All in all a very great restaurant with good home cooking and nice owners.

We went to the Ziegelhütte for a whiskey tasting and also had dinner there. We are totally thrilled with the quality and taste of the food (schnitzel crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, crispy fries and homemade dressing for the fresh salad). More is not possible! Great service, cozy, rustic atmosphere. A harmonious overall concept. Top price-performance. Thank you for this wonderful evening! Not only was the food great, the whiskey tasting afterwards is also highly recommended. You are happy to accept a 3-hour journey for this. We'll definitely be back! Be sure to keep it up!

The food was very good. I had pork medallions and my companion was a schnitzel. The landlord was very friendly and accommodating...the highlight was a brilliant selection of whiskey! The first visit was certainly not the last.

Very friendly service and boss. Reservations recommended. The salad with an exceptionally delicious dressing and nicely presented. The steak with many other variants was very good and the schnitzel was also very tasty. Price performance good. The quality of the meat and side dishes are not included in the price like in some other Idstein restaurants. Vegetarian dishes are also offered. The waiting time was a little longer for the main course, but the chef had a lot to do alone in the full restaurant. We'd love to come back.

We have our VdK board meetings here and are always served very attentively. Had an end-of-year dinner today with delicious steaks.

Das Ambiente ist schön Urig. Wir hatten beide ein Schnitzel, einmal Tomate Mozzarella überbacken, was ein gutes leckeres Schnitzel war und einmal das Schnitzel mit Whisky Soße, welches mal was besonderes war und nur so auf der Zunge zergeht. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Nur zu empfehlen😊

Gemütliches gut besuchtes Restaurant. Der Salat mit Putenstreifen ist sehr lecker. Eher weniger für den Besuch mit Kindern ausgelegt.

Gestern tolles Essen, wohlschmeckendes Bier und klasse Service!

Am gestrigen Tag waren wir zum Whiskey-Tasting dort. Die ausgesuchten Whiskeys waren alle toll und die Darstellung und Erklärungen sehr gut. Atmosphäre und Ambiente sowohl als angebotenen Speisen waren klasse! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder und ich kann jedem Liebhaber und auch Anfänger auf dem Gebiet des Whiskeys einen Besuch nur dringend empfehlen! Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend!

War okay aber irgendwie auch nichts, wo man noch mal hingeht. Kann gar nicht genau sagen, warum. Es war nicht schlecht aber auch nicht herausragend. Würde sagen guter Durchschnitt.

Eine Kneipe, wie eine Kneipe ist...es duftet nach Bier und sie ist in die Jahre gekommen. Dunkel, trotzdem alle recht freundlich. Lecker Essen zu OK Preisen...eine gute Kneipe! Eben...gut!

Heerlijk gegeten tijdens een tussenstop. Gastvrij en goedlachse bediening. Zelfs de kinderen waren zeer te spreken over het eten en hadden alles op.

Wirklich leckeres Essen und echt klasse zubereitet. Dafür wirklich Schulnote 1. Ein kleines Manko, im Winter wenn man innen sitzt, riecht man nach dem Besuch stark nach essen. Aber sonst wirklich alles Weltklasse.

Gut bürgerliche Küche, die Rumpsteaks sind zu empfehlen (Kräuter -Chili-Honig unter anderem). Ein Muss: ein Tasting, wir waren beim Gin Tasting, absolut zu empfehlen.

So gut haben wir schon lange nicht mehr gegessen. Ein wunderbares Lokal, sehr nette Bedienung. Einfach nur zu empfehlen! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und werden den Gasthof zur Ziegelhütte auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Hier gisteren gegeten, salade was erg lekker en fris! De Holzsteiner schnitzel was ook perfect gebakken en lekker belegd met gebakken ei en spek! Ook de bediening was zeer vriendelijk! Al met al een aanrader!

Wir waren gestern Abend mit 8 Personen dort essen. Der Service sehr gut und das Essen wurde von allen sehr gelobt Gerne wieder.
