Today, August 3, 2025, I went out to eat. They had creamed chanterelle mushrooms with bread dumplings. The dumplings were completely overcooked, and they were chanterelle mushrooms from a jar. I only ate half because I was hungry. The food was a disgrace.

The Wolfsschlucht is highly recommended, top prices and very, very good food, really top, have been here twice already and would love to come back 😊

If you want to spend your time in a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, this cafe is perfect for you! The prices for the dishes at this cafe are quite reasonable, but the portions are so large that most people don't finish everything, even though it's delicious. The staff is very nice, friendly, and attentive. This cafe also has rooms; there are two exits to the street where you can sit, and there's also a space for guests inside. The owners of this restaurant are very friendly, attentive, and nice people. If you want to have a great time, eat well, and pay a reasonable price, then this cafe is perfect for you. I recommend you visit!

Nine of us went to dinner and were very satisfied. The shoulder of pork was really tender with super crispy rind, the asparagus, and the other dishes were very good, and the other dishes were also very good and good value for money. The service was also very friendly.

The food was very good and, above all, it was really hot. Often, you only get half-warm food. We haven't had this good food in a long time.

The salad wasn't good, but the Wiener Schnitzel was even better. The breading was just as thick as the meat and accordingly dry, but the potato salad was good.

We were here for lunch. Pumpkin goulash with potato rosti: it looked great and tasted great. Schnitzel with fries: tender, nice and thin, also very tasty. They were large portions. We will come back here 😀

We felt very comfortable at the Gasthof zur Wolfschlucht.

I actually didn't want to write a review. I thought about it for a long time, but I was really annoyed about the food. I'm from this area and have never heard of the place. That's why I was surprised by the many positive reviews. We went for lunch during the week. 2x pork loin. The meat is as hard as pimples!! The schnitzel (2 pieces) was good (3 out of 5). The liver was served with sauce (?). I don't know that, but it was OK. We asked the waitress (probably the boss) about the hard loins. She was very nice and bought two espressos. So we definitely won't be coming back. Unfortunately, there are only a few good restaurants left, even in Franconian Switzerland. In my opinion, the Gasthof zur Wolfsschlucht is not one of them.

We were here for dinner. When the weather is nice you can sit comfortably outside. The service was nice and quick. We had horseradish and loin. Both dishes were fresh, well portioned, served quickly and very tasty.. Good price/performance ratio Clear recommendation 👍🏻

Small selection of typical Franconian cuisine. The food was very good, we enjoyed it. After 4 days of relaxation in Franconian Switzerland, this was our highlight. Economies everywhere have shot down and a decline in culture can be felt. Unfortunately, gradually. But keep it up until next time.

Food was great, rooms were just very unfriendly to us

Rooms were clean and OK. In the evening we had a lovely meal and enjoyed cheap beer. Staff very friendly. Unfortunately the breakfast buffet was already very thin…

We have just spent two weeks in the Wolfsschlucht holiday apartment and are very satisfied. The care was simply top; Great breakfast with a rich buffet and fresh fruit. In the restaurant there was always great Franconian food that was always well seasoned. The boss contributed to cookbooks and gave us numerous useful cooking tips. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back there.

We had a room for 2 nights and unfortunately can't say we would come back. We were warmly greeted at reception; However, we couldn't feel comfortable at all in the room. The entire facility is very old. Half of the toilet fell apart. The bathtub had old, yellow traces of limescale (and other things). However, the biggest negative point comes from the fact that there are strong smells of grease/food throughout the house and room almost all day long. This is because the kitchen is directly connected to the stairwell and no separation was provided. If you also have a room directly above the guest house/kitchen, you get hit twice by the balcony and the windows. We also noticed how other guests had to deal with various problems and how accommodation was only possible after major discussions. It would also have been great if there had been a sign telling the staff not to enter the room (as is usual in other hotels). Even though it was certainly well-intentioned, our room was tidied up a little too meticulously while we were away, for our taste - various personal and private items were taken into our hands and put away in our own suitcases, etc. The location is good. You're not actually in the countryside; But beautiful places can be reached quickly and on foot. We didn't test the inn.

Im Urlaub kamen wir hier her. Wurden freundlich Empfangen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und aus regionalen Produkten. Kinderportionen sehr groß. Sehr ordentlich in allen Bereichen.

Sind nach einer längeren Wanderung zum Essen dort gelandet. Leckere Essen und fränkisches Bier. Wirkte alles sehr sauber und draußen sitzt man sehr ruhig mit Blick auf die Metzgerei der hier beliefert.

Wir waren heute durch Zufall nach einer Kajaktour hier zum Abendessen. Es war alles sehr lecker. Sehr gute fränkische Hausmannskost und sehr freundliche Wirtsleute. Die Schnitzel werden noch frisch zubereitet und man hört es klopfen 😊. Das Schäufele konnte nicht mehr fotografiert werden, da aufgegessen 🤣 Die Spinatknödel waren auch sehr lecker. Danke für die Bewirtung!

Es war sehr schön hier der Biergarten war sehr gepflegt und sauber das Personal war freundlich und nett das Essen war sehr sehr gut und wurde schnell serviert ich werde mal wieder hin gehen es ist sehr zu empfehlen und die Preise sind in Ordnung

Das Krenfleischessen war wiedermal wundervoll am Kirchweih donnerstag

Sehr freundliche Wirtsleute, das Frühstück und unser Buffet am Abend (Catering) wie immer sehr reichhaltig, abwechslungsreich und gut. Die Salate waren etwas salzig, aber das kann auch an meinem Geschmack liegen.

Gut, gepflegt und preiswert haben wir den Gasthof zur Wolfsschlucht übers Wochenende erlebt. Er liegt perfekt für Ausflüge oder Kajakfahren auf der Wiesent. Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber, die Betten sehr bequem. Um etwas zu entschleunigen und gut erholt zu sein, genau das Richtige. Das Essen war typisch fränkisch und es hat uns so geschmeckt, dass wir mit 8 Personen auch den zweiten Abend zum Essen geblieben sind.

Hat nicht geschmeckt. Das krenfleisch war alt und nicht gewürzt. Der Kartoffelsalat versalzen. Die Nudeln zu teuer werde nie wieder kommen obwohl ich in der Nähe wohne. Glaube die guten Bewertungen kommen daher weil der Besitzer gewechselt wurde.

Gute Gastronomie, bemühter Service.

Das Personal war heute etwas verstreut. Das Schnitzel mit Spargel hat mir nicht geschmeckt. Der Spargel war geschmacklos, das Wasser stand unter dem Schnitzel und tränkte das Paniert. Das Kloß war alt .

Eine sehr gute Küche, typisch fränkische. Man fühlt sich wohl!

Sehr nette, freundliche, charmante Bedienung die auch Sonderwünsche erfüllt: ein Espresso mit einer Kugel Vanilleeis. Respekt!

Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer gebucht. Das Zimmer mit Balkon waren sauber mit sehr viel Platz für 2 Personen. Das Bad war ausreichend gross. Einzig allein das Mobiliar ist in die Jahre gekommen. Sehr freundliche Wirtsleute, die auch zum Frühstück einen Extrawunsch erfüllen. Im Restaurant können fränkische Spezialitäten bestellt werden. Für Liebhaber der Hausmannskost lohnt sich der Besuch. Fleisch und Wurstwaren stammen von der Metzgerei nebenan.

Essen top, waren schon ganz oft da und wurden nie enttäuscht. Service super, sehr nette Gastwirte, sehr sauberer Gastraum, nettes Ambiente. Kommen sehr gerne immer wieder.

Alles super gewesen, das Essen war lecker, die Bedienung freundlich und die Preise okay. Komme gerne wieder!

Essen war spitzenmäßig. Zimmer könnten mal wieder renoviert werden. Servicepersonal war allein und dementsprechend hat alles sehr lange gedauert

4 Tage zur Entspannung in Muggendorf in der Wolfsschlucht verbracht. Angenehmer Aufenthalt, Frühstück sehr gut, ausreichend. Essen für Abend reserviert, sehr nette, aufmerksame Bedienung trotz das fast alle Plätze besetzt waren. Sehr gutes, leckeres Essen, vorallem sooo große Portionen. Wer da nicht satt wird, dem kann man nicht helfen. Alles in Allem ... rund um zufrieden. Danke, dafür *****

Leckeres Bier, große Portionen mit sehr gutem Geschmack. Krenfleisch echt lecker mit frischem Kren und der Schweinebraten mit krosser Schwarte. Leckere Soße mit guten Knödeln. Der Junge war bei vollem Gastraum etwas überfordert, deshalb nur 4 Sterne

Wir waren nur im Restaurant und vollauf zufrieden. Das Rindfleisch mit Kren war super und auch das Rindertartar war Spitze. Auch das Bier war sehr lecker. Voll zu empfehlen.

Wir kamen zufällig an dem Gasthof vorbei. Die Chefin hat uns bereits 45 Minuten vor der Öffnung herzlich empfangen und wir durften im Gastraum mit Getränken bis zur Küchenöffnung warten. Das Ambiente ist rustikal, so wie man sich ein alt eingesessenes Gasthaus vorstellt. Das Essen war durch die Bank sehr lecker. Sowohl das Schäufele, als auch das Krenfleisch, die Lendchen und das Rumpsteak waren überzeugend. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es für die zwei Bedienungen, die weder freundlich, noch engagiert wirkten. Wir kommen trotzdem, aufgrund der leckeren Speisen, gerne wieder.

Gemütlich, Bedienung sehr freundlich. Essen wirklich lecker und auch das Bier hat geschmeckt. Empfehlenswert auch der Biergarten.
