Gastronomy has the charm of the last century.

My husband and I spontaneously went to the restaurant for dinner today. We were lucky and got a place. The restaurant was well attended. The service was very friendly and we were served quickly. We had two cordon bleu with spaetzle, salad and sauce. Both the spaetzle and the cordon bleu were delicious. Spaetzle were homemade. Nothing to complain about! Portion was also sufficient. No card payment possible. Happy to come back!

It's best to walk from Freudenstadt to Christophstal and then enjoy the view of the valley again on the short climb until the next time at the Gasthof zum Bad.

A rare find. The hosts where we stayed at Hotel Hohenried highly recommended we try this authentic restaurant. Here, the dishes and drinks take the vintage decor as inspiration and allow you to return to the foundation of great hospitality. We enjoyed the knödel with chanterelles and the gnocchi with wild garlic. Both were outstanding and each accompanied by a small fresh side salad. To close off the evening, we were served a delicious lemon basil sorbet. A success through and though. We look forward to returning soon! To ensure a dinner table, be sure to reserve!

A simply furnished inn, no frills, tasteful, linoleum floors, no music. The food is as honest as the room: very tasty, best quality, attractively served. Price-performance ratio very good. Small, diverse menu, regional dishes. We have hardly ever eaten better: Maultauschen and onion roast.

Auf der Durchreise haben wir dieses Restaurant aufgesucht, ohne Reservierung haben sie uns den letzten freien Tisch angeboten 👍🏻 das Essen einmal Spaghetti Bärlauch Pesto mit Salat und Wiener Schnitzel mit Salat war phantastisch, alles frisch und lecker. Bärlauch war auch Bärlauch und keine gestreckte, grüne Knoblauch Soße. Service:obwohl er alleine war und das Restaurant ausgebucht, war er flott, umsichtig, gut gelaunt, freundlich und wirkte nicht gestresst. Alles in allem 5 Punkte absolut verdient 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Es grüßt das Camping Paar aus Freiburg :-)

Even from the outside, the building is enchantingly beautiful to look at, elegant, picturesque and tastefully decorated. A few stairs lead upstairs, and in the long hallway you can admire historical pictures of the property. The restaurant itself is rustically furnished, you feel like you've been transported back to old times - the furnishings are stylish and comfortable. The owner is an extremely friendly, charming, attentive and humorous man. You immediately feel welcome and comfortable. The food is fantastic: veal schnitzel so tender that it almost melts in your mouth, hand-scraped spaetzle, great in consistency and delicate taste, and the homemade cranberries are also recommended. The gravy is also excellent. The mixed salad is also super tasty, a fine salad dressing and colorful varieties. The potato salad in it is extremely successful, great consistency, very seasoned. Everything is fresh, no artificial flavor enhancers noticeable. If you wish, you can also get the dish as a small portion; the owner is very attentive and friendly and responds to customer requests. There was also room for a small dessert. They even have walnut ice cream (my favorite) which is served beautifully presented - see picture. Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the other meal, but it was a visual and culinary highlight. Thank you very much and hopefully see you again soon!

Super tasty “home cooking” prepared by professionals with a lot of love. The service is warm. The building is a historical gem.

We stopped there after a hike. The food is super delicious, everything cleaned up 😋. The landlord is very nice, it's cozy there, we were thrilled. We'll stop by there again on our next hike.

Overall, it's consistent, so no 4 stars, certainly not 1 star rating, but quite clearly: 5 stars in A and B ratings. Delicious FlädleSupp, a flavor explosion in bar garlic soup, mixed salad with the best lentil salad portion ever, followed by tender ox cheeks with the finest hand-scraped spaetzle. Plus a thick painter. What more does the exiled Swabian want? We will be back!

The food is great. I hadn't had such good veal cordon bleu in years. The room is small, quaint, wonderfully warm thanks to a small wood stove. Nothing special, but the food from the salad to the espresso - simply 5 stars 🌟

I have never had a better veal schnitzel in Freudenstadt and the surrounding area. The portions are large and the price is absolutely fair - this also applies to the drinks. Regardless of whether you are a guest as a couple or in a larger group, the food is of course presented to everyone at the table at the same time. The service staff is very courteous, attentive and always in a good mood. You should definitely reserve a table. And as a small drawback I have to mention that the guest room is not barrier-free on the first floor.

Went there with friends last night. Excellent food, from soup to dessert. It's been a long time since I've had such a perfect roast. Service friendly and with humor. The atmosphere is retro but clean and stylish. We recommend.

For us, “Das Bad” is number 1 for Freudenstadt and the surrounding area. A real insider tip! We always enjoy coming back and feel incredibly comfortable in the homely atmosphere. But more importantly: the food is always freshly prepared with a lot of love and excellent craftsmanship. It is worth it! Reservations by telephone are recommended.

Abseits gelegen, findet man nur schwer und bietet was einem wichtig ist: qualitativ hochwertige Speisen, geschmacklich topp, feine Auswahl und Authentizität wie sie wirklicher nicht sein kann. Wiederholungstäter, der es immer wieder tun wird, trotz Anreise von einer Stunde…

Sehr gemütliches, uriges, deutsches Restaurant. Der Kellner ist sehr nett und immer für einen Witz oder ein kurzes Gespräch zu haben. Das Essen ist meiner Meinung nach die beste deutsche Küche die es gibt. Immer abwechselnde Karte mit saisonalem Essen. Als Einheimischer geht man hier gerne essen.

Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und das Essen schmeckt hervorragend! Ich komme viel zu selten (ca 1-3x/Jahr). Die Ente schmeckt hervorragend, die Birnen Küchle sind wirklich frisch zubereitet und es gibt auch guten Wein statt wie bei den meisten Deutschen Restaurants nur Trollinger und Co. Es ist sehr sauber, der Service ist authentisch und sehr nett. Für Kartenzahler sei gesagt dass nur bar bezahlt werden kann. Ein Kritikpunkt ist, dass ich mittlerweile 30 Minuten fahren muss um das Restaurant zu erreichen... - Jammern auf hohem Niveau, hatten nie etwas auszusetzen! Auch für Weihnachtsfeiern sehr zu empfehlen! Bis zum nächsten Mal, vielen Dank für die schönen Abende!

Waren heute durch Zufall in diesem gemütlichen Gasthaus. Sind total überrascht gewesen, von der Gemütlichkeit und tollen Küche. Können wir auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Es hat hervorragend geschmeckt 👍

Nachdem meine Arbeitskollegen mir diese Stube wärmstens empfohlen haben, bin ich mit meiner Familie zum Abendessen dorthin gegangen. Wichtig ist es immer, einen Tisch im Voraus zu reservieren. Die Stube ist urig, das Essen mit einer sehr guten Qualität. Der frische Salat oder die halbe Ente waren sehr lecker. Das Preis Qualität Leistungsverhältnis passt. Wir werden wieder zum Essen kommen.

Der Gasthof zum Bad liegt versteckt in der Talstraße. Rustikales Restaurant mit sehr leckerer regionaler Küche. Essen war richtig toll. Preis/Leistung top. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Hier waren wir vor einiger Zeit schon mal und es hat uns damals schon gefallen. Nun sind wir für einige Tage in Freudenstadt und so war es für uns klar, dass wir hier wieder Essen gehen würden. Das Gasthaus gehört bestimmt zu den außergewöhnlichsten, die wir kennen, weil so ursprünglich geblieben ist. Das Gebäude, der Gastraum, das Essen - leider gibt es immer weniger von diesen gut-bürgerlichen Wirtshäusern. Es muss nicht immer Sterne-Gastronomie sein, um leckeres Essen zu bekommen. Wir hatten auf jeden Fall den Eindruck, dass hier mit Liebe gekocht wird. Da kommen wir gerne wieder. P.S. die Treppen hoch Richtung Marktplatz haben uns nach dem Essen den Schnaps erspart ;-)

Ein Tipp für gutes Bürgerliches Essen mit Pfiff. Eine kleine Zeitreise in die ,,gute alte Zeit,,. Wer nicht das Moderne Schnick Schnack sucht, und sich lieber auf handwerklich gute Küche freut ist hier genau richtig.

Non facile da trovare, personale molto gentile e attento anche se a volte non presente. Il cibo non é male ma come sempre troppa cipolla x i miei gusti, prezzo rapportato al contesto un po caro...

Allein schon der Weg zur Gaststube im Obergeschoss ist schon ein Erlebnis. Das Essen ist ausgesprochen lecker und auch ausgefallene Speisen finden einen Weg auf die Karte. Wir wurden sehr gut und herzlich bedient und haben ausgezeichnete lokale Spezialitäten gegessen und getrunken. Das ganze zusätzlich in einem sehr gemütlichen, urigen Gastraum.

Ein Restaurant mit lokaler Küche, ueberschaubare Speisekarte mit super leckeren Gerichten. Das Cordon Bleu mit Pommes und gausfemachter Majo wie auch der Braten vom Duroc-Schwein ... super lecker. Dazu die hausgemachten Spaetzle, ein hervorragender gemischter Salat bei dem besonders der klasse Kartoffelsalat hervorsticht. Selten so einen zarten Schweinebraten gegessen! Ungewoehnliche Schorle wie Zwetschge oder Marille ... und das alles serviert von einem charmanten sehr sympathischen Service. Die zwei Brueder wissen wie sich Gaeste wohlfuehlen. Grosses Kompliment. Parkplatz vor der Tuere vorhanden.

Wir waren mal wieder in großer Runde im Bad. Und wieder war die Küchenleistung herausragend. Gut bürgerlich auf Top-Level. Klassiker, wie Cordon Bleu, Gänsebraten und Zwiebelrostbraten, dazu die unglaublich gute Ente haben die komplette Tafelrunde überzeugt.

Wir waren heute mit Freunden zu viert zum Mittagessen. Auf der Speisekarte findet man eine gute Auswahl an Speisen . Jeder von uns hat ein anderes Gericht gewählt (Gänsebraten, Entenbraten, Paniertes Schnitzel und Gaisburger Marsch). Alle waren von ihrem Gericht begeistert. Wir waren schon öfters zum Essen da und hatten jedes mal einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Das Gasthaus ist immer gut besucht und es empfiehlt sich eine Reservierung!

Das Essen und der Service waren erstklassig. Schwäbische Küche: Wiener Schnitzel, Maultaschen, Pfifferlinge & Semmelknödel, Schweinefilet & Spätzle. Ein absoluter Geheimtipp im Kreis Freudenstadt und immer einen Umweg wert.

Es war wieder alles sehr lecker, und wir sind sehr nett bedient worden! Die Salate sind großartig, Maultaschen hervorragend, Schnitzel toll, und es gab sogar eine super leckere Ente... alle unsere Erwartungen wurden wieder absolut erfüllt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren unter der Woche für einen Kurzurlaub in der Gegend und haben uns auf ein leckeres Essen nach all den Bewertungen gefreut Als wir ankamen, wurden wir mehr als verwundert vom Kellner angeschaut und mit einem "fragenden" hallo begrüßt - so nach dem Motto: was machen Sie hier? Wir fragten, ob noch ein Platz für 2 Personen frei sei Der Kellner verneinte es und meinte explizit, dass jeder Platz besetzt sei Dies stimmte aber definitiv nicht, da in der Ecke noch ein freier Tisch war! Wir fühlten uns als Touristen und Gäste unerwünscht und werden dieses Restaurant weder weiterempfehlen noch jemals wieder aufsuchen
