Gasthof Zum Anker in Bad Staffelstein

The restaurant has been beautifully renovated. The service was very prompt and appropriately professional and friendly. The food is visually quite nicely presented. The local drinks and beers on the menu are very well chosen. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were cold in an instant; a warm plate would have helped. Unfortunately, this isn't common practice in many restaurants. However, they are trying to stand out from the crowd, and this would be a suitable measure. While the asparagus season is well advanced, if it's still on the menu, it shouldn't be woody. Otherwise, the liver and schnitzel were delicious and well prepared.

The soup as an appetizer was unfortunately a bit too salty, but the goose breast was very tasty. Unfortunately, it was very drafty in the restaurant as soon as the front door opened (mid-January), and the window behind me was no longer properly sealed. The glass cases outside, however, look fantastic.

Ich war nun schon zum 4. oder 5. Mal in diesem Gasthof und finde ihn noch immer top. An einem schönen warmen Sommerabend habe ich draußen auf einer Bank Platz gefunden, ein leckeres Bio-Weisse erhalten und dann ein Pfannenschnitzel bestellt. Zum Schnitzel wurden Pommes und ein toller Salatteller serviert. Es hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Since we were here for the first time (it was recommended to us), we have been totally thrilled and regular guests 😊 The owners and staff are always super friendly! You are served quickly and don't have to wait long for your order. The food is a mix of good Franconian with a modern influence. I would at least describe it. Must be a young chef who has already seen a bit of the world (or so I was told) and she really does a really good job ❤️ And there is always something vegan to eat. And it's not run-of-the-mill and also changing. And you won't be able to get rid of it anytime soon 🙃 YOU ARE GREAT 🫶🍀

I had dinner at this inn today with my family and friends (9 people). There are some parking spaces and in case of emergency you can also park in the village nearby. I was familiar with the restaurant as I had had lunch there several times, but on a summer evening during the week the ambience exceeded all expectations. If you reserve early and stay in the “winter gardens” with your companion, you will be surprised by subtle fairy lights and the sunset from dusk onwards. The menu is lavishly filled with everything your heart desires, there are vegetarian dishes, fish and meat of every kind. We all had different dishes and everyone loved it. I had a baked char which tasted so fresh, you could think it was fished straight from the river that flows alongside the restaurant. Each of us was thrilled with the starter, main course and dessert. I am a very critical person when it comes to food in terms of the appearance, taste, freshness and origin of meat and fish. The origin (regional) of almost every ingredient is described on the menu. There is no flaw and I usually always find something I didn't like. The service is very accommodating, quick and friendly even though the restaurant was full even during the week. A really big compliment to the young team at the inn. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures to confirm the whole thing even better. But I will come back soon and add to it.

The restaurant 'Zum Anker' is definitely worth a stop. I was a guest at a small family celebration in the outdoor area (greenhouse on the Main). The service was very friendly and pleasantly quick. The dishes were prepared with a lot of love. I personally enjoyed an onion roast made from Unnerdorfer Angus fillet. Tenderly fried, juicy, incredibly tasty. Crispy fried onions, tasty beans. Delicious out. The cooking course at Lucki Maurer, which was exhibited indoors, has definitely left its mark on the kitchen. I think the variety of local suppliers is great.

Had scoops with dumplings, wasn't really my thing, meat was cured and the crust was better, could be improved

You can sit outside in small, heated greenhouses, directly on the Main with a view of the Staffelberg or in the inn. Very good food and great, friendly service.

We happened by today and were lucky to get lunch. The restaurant was very busy; Nevertheless, we were served quickly, friendly and courteously. The food tasted excellent and the selection on the menu was very varied for our taste, not unnecessarily large, with regional products, lovingly selected and homemade. We'll definitely be back.

Absolutely great. Except for the limited parking situation. We parked on the first dirt road on the left over the bridge. If you go generously, you'll be there in 5 minutes. Food and service as well as the glass houses made us 12 people happy. Very liked. Would come here again at any time

Super Essen im tollen Ambiente. Wir waren zu12 Personen dort. Das Essen war bei allen hervorragend. Bedienung sehr geduldig und freundlich. Perfekt. Einzig die Parkplätze waren zu wenig....wir haben über die Brücke die nächste Einfahrt links am Feldweg geparkt.

I have rarely eaten so well. I had an anchor spear. It was really tasty. My wife had the sauerbraten. That was a gingerbread sauce for Christmas that deserved its name. Never tried such a delicious sauerbraten. The service was top. It all happened very quickly. We will definitely come more often.

I can highly recommend it! We had reserved such a “glass house”! It was totally cozy and lovingly decorated! The food was great! Also very child friendly! Great service and super friendly staff. Everything just worked! We'll definitely be back!

The meat is of excellent quality and tastes great. The side dishes are also really good. Unfortunately I can't give it 5 stars because the doneness of the steak wasn't right. Ordered medium, delivered in English, that can happen, but I'll pass it on, I don't expect that when I complain. Maybe a, I'm sorry, or sorry doesn't usually happen would have helped more. Therefore only 4 stars.

Wow, that's the most accurate description, we had beef tartare, baked liver and anchor skewer, all three dishes were extremely delicious. The veal liver was so soft, simply a dream, I have never eaten better prepared liver, on great dishes, lovingly prepared, we were thrilled. A young team that is very friendly and competent. The inn looks rather inconspicuous from the outside, but the furnishings inside are simple, yet beautiful and spiced up with modern decoration. The glass houses outside, which are heated and can therefore also be used in winter, are fantastically beautiful, right on the Main. We would love to come back.

The location on the Main is great. The outdoor area is beautifully designed with glass cabins. I had the best meal on my vacation here, really amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant is rather unobtrusive and the menu is also rather clear, but what we ate was clearly above average. A recommendation from me for food

We were there for lunch today. Very nice service staff and great cuisine. We had the business menu twice: beef broth (which deserves its name) with liver dumplings and schnitzel with fries. Once the veal liver with homemade puree and port wine jus, blended. Apples and fried onions. The chef knows his craft. We can only recommend it

The children also had schnitzel with fries, even though this isn't listed on the lunch menu on Sundays 👍 The location right on the Main with a view of the Staffelberg was the icing on the cake in the sunny autumn weather 😃

Very very good!!! A young team works here, efficiently and extremely organized. The food is excellent, the beers are tasty and the young staff are very friendly and service-oriented. At a time when most restaurants in the area are closed, the Anker is open and pampers guests in the restaurant, in the courtyard or in very attractive glassworks. The only problem right now is that the restaurant is quickly booked up. My recommendation: make an appointment immediately for the near future, go there, eat and drink, feel good and happy. Discovered by chance via Google and it couldn't have been better! It's not that easy to find a good restaurant around Bad Staffelstein that is open on Monday lunchtime during the summer holidays. The service is very quick, very nice, attentive and responds to individual requests. The food is super tasty and attractively prepared. The lunch menu is very varied and sufficient. The glass houses outside are great for sitting in, a really great idea, I've never seen anything like it anywhere. Plus the view of the Main and protected from the wind. We'll definitely be back!!!

Addendum: you should definitely make a reservation. Absolute insider tip: Outstanding cuisine. I really have to say, the quality is exceptionally good. Nice people and really very good food. I would never have expected this in a rural area. A must for foodies in the region!

The Zum Anker restaurant in Unnersdorf is convincing across the board. The young, very friendly and courteous staff ensure a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The dishes are not only typically Franconian, but also small works of art that delight both the eye and the palate. The cozy atmosphere extends not only to the interior of the restaurant, but also to the glass pavilions and the outdoor area under the trees. A visit here is an absolute must for anyone who appreciates good food and pleasant surroundings.

We celebrated our birthday here and were just thrilled. Very nice service staff, first class food with loving design and the location is cozy and modernly furnished. We will definitely go back. We were just pleasantly surprised.

Great menu that offers both delicious classics and creative, fun experiments. Prices range from normal to upscale. There were 17 of us and we ALL ate deliciously - including our vegetarians. A top recommendation from me.

The inn offers innovative German cuisine with changing seasonal dishes. Outside you can sit directly on the Main, either on beer benches or in small, illuminated glass houses. Really designed with a lot of love and a great idea. The service is fast, attentive and friendly. You should definitely reserve a table, even if it's just a quick call an hour in advance. It can spontaneously happen that there is no space left. The food is a bit expensive, but also very tasty, beautifully presented and you will be surprised with extraordinary flavor combinations. All in all, definitely recommended.

The two of us were there today at 5:00 p.m. and wanted food. Almost all seats in the beer garden were free. It was said that everything would be reserved. When I asked that we would be gone again at 6 p.m., we were told the kitchen couldn't do that. Strange for us, not all reservations were at 6:00 p.m. or earlier. Staff seems overwhelmed, owner probably not on site, we won't go there anymore. To be fair, we were offered a seat in the not so cozy restaurant inside!

We got the information from the service that if someone pre-orders, they can't know whether the guests want to sit inside or outside and so they reserve the seats inside and outside. 🥴

Food was super tasty 😋 And the prices were okay too. We also drank a good beer 🍺 And the view of the river from the beer garden rounded everything off.

You shouldn't overuse your good reputation with further price increases. Price-performance has exceeded its limit! The food was good, the prices are now way too high. You simply move along because the others are also raising. Just because the house is always full, the prices are raised. “You can do it, people will still come.” The only question is how much longer. Portions could be a bit more generous. The taste of some dishes is only “average”. The anchor spear is great! A little bit for men, however, and could have used a few more bites. Unfortunately, the parking situation is also extremely difficult. It's best to come on foot from Bad Staffelstein.

Super tasty, great ambience outside in the Glashäusla...

We were at the “Anker” for the company party. Anti Pasti platters were set up for starters, and everyone had a choice of main course and dessert. Food and service were excellent. The selection of food and drinks is also well thought out and there is enough to choose from for every taste. If you're looking for good food and a nice stay, this is the place for you.

Nice place actually, unfortunately the service gives off an atmosphere like in a Deutsche Bahn lounge - impersonal, you don't feel like you're being addressed, tap water costs extra, naaaa yesss... You get the feeling: it would have been just as good if you had stayed at home. It's a shame, the food is OK, but it's not good when you don't know where to go...

Ich habe die kleine Lokalität etwas außerhalb von Bad Staffelstein zum Abendessen aufgesucht und war ganz schwer begeistert davon. Schade, dass ich diesen Gasthof nicht schon früher "entdeckt" habe. Der Gasthof hat eine gemütliche, bayerische Einrichtung mit Holztischen ohne Tischdecken. Alles sehr solide. Ich habe ein 0,3 l Nothelfer Trunk (dunkles + kräftiges Bier) bestellt was sehr gut schmeckte und zum Essen ein gefülltes Schnitzel bestellt. Dieses wurde mit Pommes serviert. Das Schnitzel war 1A gebraten mit krosser Kruste und ganz lecker mit einem kräftigen Bergkäse und Speck gefüllt. Ich habe das Schnitzel echt genossen, es war aber selbst für jemanden mit ordentlich Hunger schon ausreichend, also reichlich. Preislich war die Kombi mit ca. 20,- Euro absolut in Ordnung. Ich werde sehr gerne wiederkommen.

The Wiener Schnitzel was to die for!! Tender inside and breading crispy, as it should be. Small tasty salad with it and a reasonable price. I'm already looking forward to the next time. Very nice waiter!

Ambiance in the greenhouses is an absolute 10/10. Truffle ravioli and the fresh tagliatelle were very tasty! The desserts were a 12/10! Only recommended!
