Gasthof Weegerhof in Solingen

I've eaten there several times and can wholeheartedly recommend it. The food is delicious. The chef knows his stuff; the liver was cooked to perfection. The service is also incredibly friendly, and you feel right at home.

Classic Rhineland home cooking. Not suitable for vegetarians.

Very nice owners and the shashlik skewer is fantastic. The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned, but okay.

Always happy to come back. Many beers and good food at a fair price. The owner of the house still cooks here herself.

We've been here again and can only say that the atmosphere and friendly service here was/is truly fantastic! That's how I imagine a guesthouse to be! They take great care of you and cater to your every need! I can only highly recommend it and highly recommend it to everyone!

The location is a little dated... The food is always plentiful and delicious. Steaks are cooked to perfection, just how it should be. Sometimes you have to be a little patient, but I haven't died of thirst or starvation yet.

The portions are large and inexpensive. The food tastes excellent, and the meat is cooked to perfection, very tender and juicy. The service is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there are several steps leading into the restaurant, but if you ask, people with walking difficulties can also enter through the back door, where there are only two steps. We ate there for the first time this evening. Unfortunately we weren't received very friendly. Well, we thought, let’s find our place. Then one of the two unfriendly ladies came with the menu and asked if we wanted something to drink. We said we'd take a look first. She waited until we decided. When the drinks came, she asked if we knew what to eat yet. We again no, we still have to look, people shook their heads and rolled their eyes. We actually wanted to get up and leave. That doesn't work at all. Well, we still ordered our food. We have nothing to complain about there. It was very tasty and sufficient. After that we weren't served at all and felt like we were being ignored. Other guests were able to pay at the table, but unfortunately no one came to our table so we went to the counter. We were asked what we wanted. Pay? Pay what? Yes, eat all that? Which table? Card or cash? When I answered with a card and held my card up to the device, I was cheekily told that Visa wasn't possible! Wow okay. At least there was a thank you at the end! I didn't know that we had ever been in contact before so that I would end up on first name terms, but perhaps I generally didn't like the annoyed mood of the waitresses. At the beginning I thought we were having fun here or something, but when the service staff at the other tables were like that too, it couldn't be fun. I think some people really missed the job. Too bad. It's so close and unfortunately we won't be setting foot there again. I'd rather spend my money on other great restaurants.

Sorry not, we ate grilled dishes twice today. Food was well, rump steak about 20g like leather. Neck steak very fatty and 3 meatballs with too much garlic. 1 time and never again. Service poor.

The pancake was clearly burnt from the bottom. The waiter said “that happens” and was only willing to offer a new one when asked, which was no longer convenient. He then charged half a fee...We definitely won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, the prices on the homepage do not match those on the menu and we find charging 2 euros for a change in the supplement to be completely excessive (1 euro is stated on the homepage) The food was very tasty.

I decided on the sauerbraten with potato dumplings, without applesauce. The food was ok, tasted good. Maybe very good, but if you are used to the local Thuringian cuisine, you are certainly not up to date when it comes to the regional cuisine of the other federal states. I enjoyed it. I was warmly welcomed and served in the Croatian restaurant. All in all, based on the short impression, I recommend it!

Unfortunately very disappointed with the food! It was obviously not freshly prepared and used ready-made sauces. In addition, the food arrived completely cold and the portions are tiny. Absolutely not recommended for the prices, the taste and quality of the food was reminiscent of hospital food. The service was friendly and absolutely fine.

Sehr netter Gasthof mit freundlichem Personal und gutem Essen. Es werden auch croatische Speisen serviert. Der Salat war knackig und frisch, der Grillteller ist zu empfehlen.

Hier gibt es leckere Schnitzel! Klassische Gaststätte, nettes Personal und lecker Schnitzel.

Mein Vater wollte unbedingt mit mir dort essen gehen, weil er das da so toll findet. Ich war vorher niemals dort. Für die Siedlung dort natürlich nicht schlecht, man hat nen Anlaufpunkt und kann dort nen netten Abend verbringen. Preis ist ok, Menge sehr viel. Allerdings habe ich mittlerweile lieber Restaurants, die nicht so riesige Portionen servieren, dafür aber hochwertiger. Mein persönlicher Geschmack ist ein anderer als rustikale Einrichtung, ein Wintergarten mit Grasteppich in dem geraucht werden darf und einem Kellner, der mich ignoriert hat. Während mein Vater und mein Bruder mehrfach nach neuen Getränken gefragt wurden, ignorierte man mich komplett. Das Essen war nicht schlecht, aber ich hab mich da einfach nicht wohl gefühlt und gehe lieber in andere Restaurants.

Ich kenne das Gasthaus Weegerhof und war immer sehr zufrieden, jedoch dieses Mal war es alles andere als gut. Das Personal konnte sich keine 4 Getränke merken und das Essen war so semi gut.

Eindeutig mein Lieblingsrestaurant 😍 Das Essen, der Service, einfach super. Wie haben schon einiges dort gefeiert, von Hochzeit bis Taufe und es war immer super. Alle haben ihr essen gleichzeitig und auch warm bekommen. Alle waren von den Speisen begeistert und sie Preise sind wirklich angemessen. Ich kann es mit besten Gewissen empfehlen 😍😍

Sehr schön eingerichtet. Kellner nett und aufmerksam. Essen bei beiden Besuchen sehr lecker. Große Portionen, Preise passen, Wartezeiten gut. Gibt nichts zu meckern, wir werden noch einige Male wieder kommen. Am besten einen Tisch reservieren, weil meistens ausgebucht.

Die Speisekarte hat von allem etwas. Die Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich. Wir Essen gerne Zünftig und das war immer sehr lecker. Die Speisen sind auch nicht zu Teuer. Wir gehen gerne in den Weegerhof zum Essen.

Wir haben vor kurzem für eine Familienfeier reserviert. Das Vorgespräch für die Reservierung und die Menüauswahl fand spontan statt. Man hat sich Zeit für uns genommen und ist zügig alles wichtige durchgegangen. Der Tisch wurde schön hergerichtet und für ausreichend Platz gesorgt. Die Vorspeise, das Hauptgericht und der Nachtisch waren super lecker. Der Service war super freundlich und herzlich. Preis- und Leistungsverhältnis war spitze.

On a short, evening trip to Solingen we decided to stay for dinner and selected the Gasthaus Weegerhof as our venue. We rang a couple of hours earlier to book a table for 4 . On arrival, shortly after 8 in the evening it was clear that the booking wouldn't necessarily have been needed. The place was quiet and we had the full attention of the friendly, chatty waiter. The menu was quite an extensive one based on German and Croatian cuisine. It was hard to make a final choice. I personally had a potato cream soup with chanterelles (pfifferlingen) as a starter followed by a very tasty veal liver presented in the "Berliner art" with mashed potatoes and cooked apple wedges with roasted onions on top. My first choice of a roasted pigs knuckle (Schweinshaxe") unfortunately wasn't available that evening. No problem. All of us enjoyed our various main courses and we particularly appreciated the willingness to adapt some of the items on the menu to fit our preferences. For dessert we shared nicely presented apple strudel and pancakes (Palatschinken) with ice cream. And as a special treat we were gifted little glasses of Croatian cherry liquor, Visnjevaca which was delicious. The whole experience was excellent. We can thoroughly recommend this place and I'm sure that we'll be back when we come this way again.
