Gasthof Vorderbrand in Schönau a.Königssee

Der weite Weg lohnt leider nicht. Viel zu teuer, nichts besonderes und die Möhren im Salat waren aus dem Glas. 1 Minigläschen Preiselbeermarmelade zum Schnitzel wurde tatsächlich mit 1,50 Euro berechnet. Absolut keine Empfehlung für dieses Restaurant.

Bester Kaiserschmarrn der Region

Apfelstrudel war sehr lecker, Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Wir waren zu zweit zum Abendessen dort. Der Kaiserschmarrn war soooo lecker! Den feinen Ziegenkäse vorweg mit Salat hätte es nicht gebraucht. Die Reste vom Schmarrn konnten wir für den nächsten Tag mitnehmen. Die Anreise zum Alpengasthof ist ein Erlebnis für sich auf der kurvenreichen Straße- aber jeden Meter wert! Die Stille und das Panorana waren wunderschön! Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam! Unbedingt vorher anrufen und reservieren!

Tolle Lage! Man sitzt unter Bäumen und guckt in die Berge! Das Essen war top! Portionen groß, qualitativ gut und Service sehr nett. Man hat sich dauerhaft wohl gefühlt. Ich bleibe selten in einem Restaurant so lange sitzen wie hier.

Das Essen Speckknödel mit Kraut und Schweinekrustenbraten waren hervorragend, nur der Kaiserschmarrn war eher ein Kuchen als ein richtiger Kaiserschmarrn . Das war etwas schade. Der Service war sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend.

Die Lage der Gaststätte ist einfach Traumhaft.Es sie rund um der Gaststätte ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden.Man hat einen Super blick auf die wunderschöne Bergwelt.Die Küche ist sehr gut und zügig Bedienung sehr Freundlich und schnell die Betreiber sehr Freundlich.Es gibt gut bürgerliche Küche es gibt aber auch etwas hochpreisiger Gerichte wie Bio-Rinder-Filet bzw auch Zander-Filet.Die Portionen sind recht groß und reichhaltig.Ich kann diese Gaststätte zu 100prozent empfehlen würde auch jederzeit wieder dort einkehren schon allein wegen der Aussicht vom Biergarten einfach Traumhaft.Außerdem hat die Gaststätte ein Behinderten-Wc und einen Kinderspielplatz.Sowie einen Platz um sein Kleinkind zu wickeln.Die Toiletten sind sauber und modeniesiert und sehr Ordentlich. 😊👍🏻😊👍🏻

Ein sehr schönes Lokal mit freundlichem Personal. Trotz kleinerer Sprachbarrieren verlief alles reibungslos und gut gelaunt. Und der Kaiserschmarrn ist einfach himmlisch. Vielen Dank!

Wunderschön super Kaiserschmarrn

Essen war herausragend, Kaiserschmarrn zum Nachtisch gegessen, dieser war phänomenal. Die Bedienung super nett und freundlich. Aussicht top. Wir haben uns rundum sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr empfehlenswert dort einzukehren.

Waren Abends zum Essen mit zwei kleinen Kindern. Freundlich, sehr leckeres Essen, einfach zum wohlfühlen! Die Bratkartoffeln und Kässspatzen sind der Hammer!

Dezember 2025: Ein weiterer Besuch im Gasthof. Die Karte war sehr klein und mehrere Gerichte waren bereits aus, was den Gästen sichtlich nicht gut gefallen hat. Es gab Gulaschsuppe Leberknödelsuppe und Käsespätzle. Beides war max ok, mehr nicht. Leider geht hier die Qualität stark abwärts und wir werden wohl in Zukunft anderweitig essen gehen. Sehr schade. Wir waren viele Jahre bei euch aber so leider nicht mehr. Sorry. Dezember 2024: Wir waren wieder einmal bei euch zum Abendessen. Diesmal im Winter. Zugegebenermaßen hatten wir aufgrund unserer vorherigen Besuch gute Erfahrungen gemacht und dadurch eine gewisse Erwartung. Meine Frau hatte Lachs und war damit sehr zufrieden. Ich hatte Schäufele braten, mit Rotkohl und Klöße. Dazu Bratensauce. Vorweg gab es eine Leberknödelsuppe. Leider war ich von meinem Essen total enttäuscht. Der Schäufele braten war in Ordnung und hat mir gut geschmeckt. Das bedarf jedoch keine großen Kochkunst. Der Rotkohl war jedoch gar nichts. Völlig geschmacklos. Leider war die Sauce so flüssig, dass es eher Suppe war. Die Leberknödelsuppe war leider auch nichts. Die Suppe schmeckt danach gar nichts genau wie der Leberknödel. Ich habe im Urlaub mehrere Male Leberknödelsuppe gegessen und keine war so schlecht wie diese. Geschmacklich hätte man das auch besser machen können. Vielleicht sollte man an diesem Dingen noch mal arbeiten. Da sind wir besseres gewohnt im Restaurant. Wir waren in unserem Urlaub nicht noch einmal bei euch, obwohl wir das sonst gerne zwei bis dreimal gemacht haben. Diesmal haben wir anderen Restaurants dem Vorzug gegeben, die deutlich besser sind. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch werden wir wieder bei euch speisen, in der Hoffnung, dass es dann besser ist. - Vorherige Bewertung: Gut bürgerliche und typische bayrische Küche. Tolle Aussicht. Sehr netter Service. Das Essen ist hervorragend 😊. Wieder einmal ein Besuch beim Vorderbrand mit der gewohnten Freundlichkeit und einem tollen Essen. Immer wieder gerne und unbedingt ein Muss. Eine Reservierung ist jedoch erforderlich, wie auch in allen anderen lokalen im Umland. Einen schönen Abend oder Nachmittag steht somit nichts entgegen, denn auch hier gibt es leckere Nachspeisen oder Süßspeisen Die man auch am frühen Nachmittag schon genießen darf. UPDATE Dezember 2025: Wir hatten hier ein tolles Weihnachtsessen. Alles wirklich sehr lecker. Top Service und sehr freundlich. Juli 2021: Wir waren hier während unseres Aufenthaltes im angrenzenden Almdorf mehrfach zu Gast. Fazit: sehr leckeres Essen, freundliches Personal und eine sehr nette und herzliche Wirtin. Dazu ein typisch bayerisches Ambiente. Sehr gut!

Der Standort ist einfach traumhaft. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt. Das Essen war super lecker, die Bedienung freundlich und flink. Innen war es auch sehr schön. Ein Besuch hier ist sehr empfehlenswert.

We're currently on vacation in Schönau am Königssee and wanted to enjoy some delicious Bavarian food again. We were more than thrilled. We didn't have a reservation and still had a lovely spot. The service was super friendly and fast. The food was excellent and piping hot until the last bite. They asked us every now and then if we wanted some more sauce. Very good value for money. We'll be back here again, even as a guest on vacation. This inn more than deserves a 5-star rating from us...it's just not enough 😊👍

The best food in the area can be found at Vorderbrand. Traditional cuisine with a creative twist – always worth a visit.

Super delicious food! The Wiener schnitzel with fried potatoes was a dream, and the cheese spaetzle was so delicious! The pumpkin cream soup is also highly recommended. We've eaten there a few times and will definitely be back! The team was also very warm and accommodating. Thank you again, and we hope to see you very soon!

A fantastically authentic restaurant with delicious food. Delicious cheese spaetzle and legendary rump steak. You can sit in the wonderful parlor, just like 50 years ago, or by the house or under the chestnut trees. Very friendly service!

Unfortunately, there isn't much positive to report here. We've never been treated as unfriendly as we were at this inn. Only the elderly lady was friendly; the waiter should be fired immediately. The food was okay; the steak and pasta were good, and the Wiener Schnitzel was one of the worst I've ever had. The location is great, with a beautiful view, but the staff definitely prevented a second visit.

Best Kaiserschmarrn ever... We stumbled upon this mountain inn quite by chance. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, and we couldn't really enjoy the view. However, we were compensated for this by the delicious food, exceptionally friendly service, and fair prices. The Kaiserschmarrn was the best I've ever eaten. If you're in the area, you should definitely visit this mountain inn.

I can only speak for the restaurant, and I was extremely surprised by it. Here, you'll find what one would typically call "homestyle" fare, and at a high level. The service is friendly, fast, and reliable; everyone enjoyed everything, the portions are generous, the value for money is right, the rooms are quaint, and there's also lovely outdoor seating, including a mini beer garden.

Traditional, cozy inn, lovingly furnished and with a warm and attentive landlady. Delicious food comes in large portions. If the weather is good, be sure to sit on the sun terrace and enjoy the view!

Unfortunately, we experienced rejection and unfriendliness from the staff here. Unfortunately, the entrance to the parking lot was blocked, so we couldn't get through and had to stand in the paid parking lot 400m away. The restaurant can't help it, I completely understand that, but of course it doesn't help you improve your mood if you don't receive friendly service. Unfortunately for me and my friend no further recommendation and definitely not worth the journey (in our case 30 minutes by car)!

We got breakfast from there. You can pre-order and pick it up in the morning. Super tasty and rich. You can book a table for lunch and dinner (but also coffee and cake). We lived in the alpine huts right next door.

What can I say… that's exactly how I imagine a Bavarian inn in the Alps. Super friendly and down to earth service. Great local food and an amazing view! We also thought it was great that snacks were offered if you weren't that hungry in the evening. Highly recommended

That's exactly how it should be! We found a very cozy traditional restaurant. It was incredibly delicious! We had saddle of venison fillet. The prices are okay. Compared to other restaurants in the good average range, compared to a few years ago, the price level is of course already steep. Nevertheless: everything was great here. Service was courteous and very friendly, the location is good. Back to the food: I haven't eaten so well in a really long time. We also treated ourselves to a small dessert. If you want to complain then I can only find one small point. It was slightly cool in the room. But we explained this by saying that we were expecting a lot of guests in the evening (New Year's Eve) and with appropriate additional heating a sauna would probably have been created. We would love to come back!!

We celebrated our civil wedding there with the closest circle on the last weekend in September. The boss (Hildegard) arranged everything really well and nicely. The food was excellent and the price was great. The staff was very accommodating, discreet and always ready if you wanted to reorder. My personal highlight was the perfect venison steak with fresh chanterelles and red wine jus and the snacks with Obazda and crackling lard. Great inn, great location for hiking tours and a super nice atmosphere for celebrations.

Special praise goes to the chef for the heavenly Kaiserschmarrn, which is truly to die for. The portions are generous so it's easy to share. Families with children will get their money's worth here, as there is a great playground where the little ones can let off steam. Overall, the Gasthof Vorderbrand offers a perfect mix of a cozy atmosphere, excellent cuisine and a fantastic location. A visit here is highly recommended for anyone who wants to fully enjoy the beauty of the Berchtesgaden Alps.
