The salad was very good and quite large for a small portion. However, the serving staff was rude, insulting and completely incompetent. The waiter to whom this applies should first take a course on how to behave towards guests. (terrible).

The prices here are unnormal expensive and the stuff didnt want to tell me how big the portions are, then i saw why (very small portions) the stuff was very unprofessional and very very rude, when i asked if they can answer me little more quite because they were very loud, the waiter started to yell at me in his language (i think macedonian) and he pushed me out of the bar

Home cooking of good quality at high prices. Very friendly and fast service staff. Parking space directly in front of the beautiful, shady guest garden behind the house.

Unfortunately, I was overwhelmed by the interaction with the guest, i.e. very disappointed with the Bavarian hospitality in your house. My daughter-in-law invited me to a beer garden and wanted to offer me something very special. So we drove specifically to Obermeier. I've never been so unfriendly and dismissive before, Not in any restaurant, let alone at a chip shop. It was very embarrassing for me to see how my daughter-in-law, who wanted to give me something special, and I were treated like that. Saturday, August 24th 2024 around 5:30 p.m., from the lady in the light blue dirndl at the door I was embarrassed, and you can't feel comfortable at a reception like that. We didn't get an answer to the question of whether the beer garden was open and we weren't even given a glance. It's a real shame about the beautiful property.

I ate here for dinner, excellent Bavarian food, we ordered 3 different dishes, the schnitzel with roast potatoes and lingonberry jam, the super soft pork neck with caramelized onions, fried onions and mashed potatoes and finally some frankfurters with sauerkraut... everything of quality... friendly and welcoming staff, the next time I return to Munich I will definitely return to this restaurant!!

Two of us came here because one of us had to eat gluten-free. What is very positive is that it is guaranteed to be gluten-free. The gluten free food was very good. The normal spaetzle was okay but nothing special. The selection of gluten-free beer is also very nice. The service was quick, but not particularly friendly. You can be a little friendlier, especially when assigning tables. The normal dishes are reasonably priced. There is an additional charge for gluten-free meals. Here you can quickly get 40 euros with 2 beers. Everyone has to know for themselves whether it's worth it. We would still like to come back!

We were staying in a hotel locally and were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. The food was absolutely outstanding - we had the pork neck and half duck - both brilliant but the pork (see picture) was by far the best pork we have ever had. Would highly recommend for the food and the service, although booking is advisable!

The food is very tasteful and good. The service: one of them lets a dog lick her hands and then continues to serve... Our waiter referred to me as darling and was relatively loud. I imagine service orientation and politeness to be different. Also take in the food. A real shame!

Nice place. Duck was disappointment.

After the drinks were incorrectly distributed at the table and this was noticed by the affected guests, the waitress asked them to simply swap the drinks. This is a glimpse into the unpleasant atmosphere I endured here. With incredibly overpriced prices and only one vegan dish on the menu. Which consists of noodles in oil and doesn't taste good. I have the impression that this store lives from what was once a good reputation and has become comfortable in its current design.

Bedienung unfreundlich und unaufmerksam, Essen höchstens Kantinenniveau. Biergarten war nicht einmal zu einem Viertel gefüllt und trotzdem durfte man sich sn einem sehr heißen Tag nicht unter die Bäume setzen dondern musste unter der Markise Platz nehmen. Nicht empfehlenswert!

Dear team from Gasthof Obermaier, You actually deserve 6 stars. My wife has a gluten intolerance, which all too often poses challenges for us. My wife ordered the Wienerschnitzel with spaetzle and sauce - I emphasize GLUTEN FREE! It was simply world class!!! More of this please and we'll be back.

Portions a bit small compared to other inns in Munich. Didn't convince me 100%

Since we stayed in the hotel and didn't really want to go into the city center due to the hustle and bustle surrounding the European Championships, we decided to have a snack on arrival as well as dinner on site, and it has to be said, we did have not regretted this decision! Despite the stress and the full house, the ladies in the catering team were nice and tried hard (only one waiter gave the impression of massive unfriendliness, but OK, maybe he just had a bad day or hadn't quite digested the 5-1 win against Scotland the night before.. 🤪 ... no matter, you still get full points for the service!) To eat: Both the cold dishes for snacks (sausage salad and Obazda) and the dinner (roast pork, cordon bleu, hunter's steak, fried chicken) were decent portions and absolutely tasty! A matching beer and the culinary pleasure was perfect! Unfortunately, we were no longer able to test the very good-sounding dessert offering (in terms of capacity).... In any case, the Gasthof Obermaier is a top tip and can only be recommended!

The food was ok, quite tasteless and the raw cabbage tasted like soap. I am celiac and there was a 2,50€ overprice for each meal, bread included (taken out of a schar plastic bag, that costed 1,80€ per slice + overprice). When we went up to pay the waiter asked if we wanted to leave a tip (but with the gluten free overprice I thought it wasn't the case) and we kindly refused. He laughed in our face and as soon as we were leaving he insulted us in german.

We stayed at the Hotel Obermaier and had dinner here on the last day. Both dishes were excellent. Hunter steak (photo) and fried chicken. The waiter was extremely nice and very on the ball!

Very angry and immediately aggressive waiter (team leader?!) on Thursday, May 30, 24 afternoon. Of course the Lord overboards! Even his colleagues stood speechless when we, as a small group of 10 people, just wanted to stop for a beer in the afternoon and sang ONE song as a male choir. The individual guests around were also very surprised and could not understand the “misstep”. Open-minded hospitality looks different! PS: and without exception, the beer glasses were all filled at least 2 cm below the calibration mark. With such a rustic service you probably have to factor in the tip in advance...?!

This is local cuisine culture but GLUTEN FREE as well!!! Really delicious, qualitative products and safe from gluten! It is a little bit expensive but, each time I visit Munich, we eat here!!! I recommend the apple scramble pancake (I don't know the exact German name, sorry)

Very good home cooking. Roast venison and Kaiserschmarrn were very tasty! The ambience is rustic and also quite loud as it was very fully booked by hotel guests with children, but the atmosphere is nice and familiar. The service staff has a lot to do, which is why they are sometimes a bit abrupt but very quick and committed. Reservation rather required.

We were there a few weeks ago for the medieval dance ball and for the first time at Obermair. The ballroom is very beautiful and beautifully decorated, the floor is parquet and good for dancing. The food was absolutely great. There was soup, which was absolutely delicious and the main course was neck ridge in onion sauce with potatoes, super hearty and delicious. There was also a vegetarian meal to choose from. It was baked goat cheese on a really great salad - I was allowed to try it by my companion and it was also very tasty. The food tastes really good and, in my opinion, is all homemade and the meat - I'm crazy about this - tastes of quality. First there is dancing and then there is the 1st course and then there is dancing and then there is the 2nd course etc. What struck me as very positive was that both courses were served very quickly and skilfully, so that everyone had the food in front of them quickly. The food arrived at the tables really hot (which is sometimes a problem in dining halls). The waitress and waiter were both super friendly and nice and also quick and attentive. You never sat in front of an empty glass :) We've been going to the Historical Dance Festival for a long time and it's been at various different locations over the years. In any case, the inn was a great fit here.

We were at the inn last night and were very satisfied. We had pre-ordered in the morning and were able to get a table in the evening, which otherwise would have been tight. The colleague who served us was very friendly and, even though the inn was full, she arrived quickly. The food was fresh and plentiful and tasted excellent. I took the train from Central Munich to this place, which is on a lovely suburban neighbourhood street worthy of exploration itself. My waitress was very well versed in the language of GF (gluten free) and I had total confidence in the kitchen. The schnitzel came, and with the potatoes and vegetables (and a nice glass of wine), was amazing. It's worth the trip especially for any celiacs or those with gluten allergies. I am super-sensitive and had to reaction at all! Go there, you won't be sorry.

The food was the best we had in over two weeks of travel around 8 countries in Europe. Consistently, we find the best food is in Germany, despite the seeming obsession with Italian and French cuisine. Find those smaller traditional restaurants and give different dishes a try! We had pork schnitzel with Spargel (white asparagus) with hollandaise sauce and potatoes, and 4 of us had roast duck with a delicious red cabbage, dumpling and gravy. The Spargel soup was also excellent! Of course a Weißbier made everything taste even a little bit better.

Everything is good, the food is delicious, the beer is the best.

Very traditional looking restaurant. For my meal (asparagus with potatoes and Viennese veal schnitzel) I expected more for the price. The potatoes could have done with another 5 minutes, the asparagus was a bit bitter and the schnitzel was really very thin and quite small. The waiting time was okay and the service was friendly.

We ate there twice and twice were great. Bavarian cuisine very tasty. The staff was very nice and there was water for the dog without asking. The beer garden is also very cozy. The atmosphere is typically Bavarian and very cozy.

We were here again for the monthly get-together and every time it got worse. But today was the crowning moment. The table was reserved for 10 people over 3 weeks ago. When we arrived there were reserved tables in the dining room, but we were quickly seated in the back room where the table had to be cleared and cleaned first. In addition, there was a children's birthday party there. The food wasn't good last time, salad with turkey breast, it was turkey cold cuts (Herta) whole 3 wafer-thin slices!!! Craziness! You couldn't get enough of it. Especially since the salad was more of an appetizer size. Today I had onion roast, the meat was almost bloody, fatty and didn't taste good. The service was hardly noticeable. And from 10 p.m. they started rearranging the tables, cleaning, etc. They were "cleaned out" of them by 10:30 p.m. at the latest. This is what Bavarian hospitality is supposed to be? No thanks. We won't be coming back. Apparently Obermaier no longer needs the gastro's money.

Not bad or good in itself, but unfortunately just too expensive. For the price (we paid €100 for two people in the evening, including drinks and dessert) I would have expected an excellent meal and it wasn't. The Kaiserschmarrn was yesterday's news. It wasn't bad, but just not fresh. Half a duck gets you one (!) dumpling. But these are just the austerity measures because everything is generally becoming more expensive, the question is who can be blamed?

Despite a large group (approx. 30 people) making a reservation in good time, the food only arrived after more than 2 hours, and the drinks also came extremely slowly. The food was okay, but the beef shoulder was sometimes very tough. There won't be a second time for me.

Amazing place that doesn’t need a review, a very delicious variety that you don’t know what to choose from, with great portions and very tasty food. We had the grilled goat cheese salad and the Schnitzel and everything was right the food and the dressing. We also enjoyed the beer and other verity of drinks which also seemed good but we didn’t try. For sure we will try to make it one more time before we leave here specially to enjoy the friendly service that combines privacy with attentiveness. I have to thank Dario for his great hospitality and service.

Unfortunately we are disappointed with this inn. Although there were 2 free, unreserved tables (April 3, 2024, around 7:30 p.m.), they didn't want to offer us space for two people - not even for a later period. We should find free seats in the guest room ourselves. With such warm hospitality, we'd rather look for another restaurant.

This beautifully and authentically renovated inn presents me with an ambivalent picture: on the one hand, there are always reports of very good service and on the other hand of subpar service. I have the same impression when I visit. Last time everything was fine: friendly reception, fast service, committed, professional and friendly. You can quickly tell that the restaurant is very popular by the completely occupied tables and, unfortunately, by the stressed-out staff. The prices are also high for Munich. One or two outliers in the food are surprising. The Käsespätzle (Knöpfle) would be world class if fried fried onions from the convenience bag didn't spoil the impression. The onion roast, pithy and tender and perfectly fried, also suffers from this. The pepper steak, which I had already eaten here once, this time a shoe sole despite the best meat quality. The dumplings with gravy: heavenly! It's nice that there is a children's menu and that children are really welcome. The friendly, humorous waitress Olga is great. The rest of the staff was stressed and sometimes even rude and impatient. Great: plenty of parking spaces in the hotel's courtyard and absolutely exemplary toilets. The wonderfully classic village atmosphere rightly attracts many guests. If the quality of the kitchen and service were consistent and there were a few more original veggies on the menu, then this inn would attract whole crowds of pilgrims.

Extremely friendly and rustic restaurant with very tasty Bavarian specialties. The pork shovel on the weekend is a hit. Be very hungry, otherwise you won't be able to handle the amount.

The three main dishes ordered were all delicious, and the draft beer was delicious! The service staff are also very good. This is a German restaurant that makes people want to come back!

Online table reservations are ignored at the inn. Despite email confirmation, we were turned away with 8 people because the online reservation was not taken into account on the weekend (Friday). That's what the waitress said. It was super embarrassing

Today we had lunch again at Obermaier's in Trudering. There is “Franconian Schäuferla” on the weekend. Simply super delicious. Portion almost impossible to manage. Price is really reasonable. Condition friendly and nimble. Waiting time for food under 10 minutes. It doesn't get any better. It's a long journey if you don't live right around the corner like we do. Be sure to reserve in advance. “The place is packed.”

Nice Bavarian inn with good food and friendly Bavarian conditions. Schäufele was great, the salad was also good. Star deduction because the veal cream slices could have tasted a bit more like meat due to the sauce and could have used more cream. Price performance but excellent.

Ordered fried potatoes and Wiener Schnitzel. Salad and Köstritzer with a cola top, but the schnitzel is as thin as the sole of a shoe. The fried potatoes had the taste of old boiled potatoes from the cold store. From the outside it looked very nice. The selection was also rather modest.

We were at a Schafkopf tournament. The meal, a roast pork, was very good. Unfortunately, the service was overloaded. That's why I was only allowed to drink two wheat beers.

We spontaneously made a reservation for 8 and all sat there enthusiastically - the waiters arrived quickly and attentively, all orders were served flawlessly in a short time and left us speechless at the table. Across the menu we tried everything from onion roast, schnitzel and planters to vegetarian platters such as goat cheese on walnut and pancakes and were completely in love. The desserts and drinks were also on point. Our praise to the cook can be renewed every day! The atmosphere was exuberantly good, the furnishings were rustic and we got along brilliantly with the entire service. From now on Obermaier will certainly be a regular address for dinner! We were 25 people and had dinner there and the bill was 2500 euros. I calculated a tip of 4 euros for each guest and wanted to tip 100 euros in total, but I was asked to tip 250 euros. I think a 4 euro tip per person is not a small amount. Besides, tipping should be voluntary, right? In the end I was forced to pay 200 euros as a tip. I consider this to be outrageous behavior or an unjustified demand due to my foreign origins.

Very good food. Because of the good quality, we like to eat a nice piece of meat every now and then. We come regularly from the neighborhood. However, the service has been suffering lately… No drink or food at the table after an hour. “There are only two of us in service” is an understandable answer, but a relaxed lunch looks different.

Letztes Mal Backhendlsalat- schrecklich. Vorspeisenportion genauso groß wie Hauptspeisenportion, fertig panierte Stücke, Kartoffelsalat gerade so essbar. Letzte Woche dann die Überraschung: solide Suppe mit Einlage, danach sowohl der Schweinsbraten mit Knödel und Krautsalat als auch das Schnitzel mit Pommes sehr ordentlich und schmackhaft. Service in Ordnung. Leider sehr zugig.

Wir haben eine längere Anfahrt auf uns genommen, weil ich trotz Glutenunverträglichkeit endlich mal wieder ein Schnitzel essen wollte, und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Ein herrliches glutenfreies Radler, sogar Bio, von der Brauerei Schleicher, von der ich noch nie gehört hatte, rundete den Genuss ab. Mein Mann, der aus Nürnberg kommt, freute sich wie ein Kind über sein fränkisches Schäuferla, auch selten zu bekommen in München. Der Service dazu ausgesprochen freundlich. Wir kommen wieder.

Nie wieder. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert Essen kam gleichzeitig mit der Suppe. Über die Beschwerde und das das Essen lauwarm war wurde sich nur lustig gemacht. Dafür wurde nann dann rausgeschmissen, weil Leute die sich beschweren nicht erwünscht sind. Absolute Arroganz und Überheblichkeit vom Kellner lassen zu wünschen übrig. Es gibt's zum Glück bessere Wirtschaften in Trudering

Volevamo andare in un tipico posto bavarese, in effetti lo è, purtroppo i pasti non mi sono piaciuti, c'è troppo grasso, cibo abbastanza pesante, invece la birra è il top. Non so se è normale ma il cameriere ha sottolineato più volte che il conto non era compreso di servizio per avere la mancia....

Die Wienerschnitzel hatte überhaupt keine richtige Panade und das Backhendl hat absolut nichts mit Backhendl zu tun. Jedes Kantine-Essen schmeckt besser, als hier. Meiner Meinung nach ist da nichts frisch oder selbstgemacht! Einmal und nie wieder!

Die Speisen waren sehr gut, das Service freundlich und schnell. Absolut negativ bewerte ich die Tatsache, dass uns €3 pro 0.5l Leitungswasser verrechnet wurden. Prinzipiell sollte selbstverständlich sein, dass Wasser als Weinbegleitung serviert wird; zumindest muss es auf der Speisekarte ausgewiesen werden, wenn dem nicht so ist. Wir haben uns so geärgert, dass wir leider nicht wiederkommen werden.

Das Essen war super lecker, das Ambiente angenehm rustikal.

Die Ambiente war wie es in einem gut Bayrischen Restaurant sein soll. Service war höflich und zuvorkommend. Leider ist das Essen nicht was es mal vor 10 Jahren war. Die Spätzle waren warm aber in einer kalten Schale serviert. Schweinebraten war trocken. Die Ente war in der Mikrowelle heiß gemacht. Kaiserschmarrn war teilweise trocken und teils sabschig.

Aus den ganzen Vorjahren ist die Weihnachtsgans für daheim uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Mit den ganzen Beilagen einfach nur köstlich. Freue mich schon auf dieses Jahr.

Naja. Das Münchner Schnitzel war kein Schnitzel und hat eher fad geschmeckt. Der Kartoffelsalat war sehr sauer. Für fast 16€ zu teuer. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Eigentlich eine schöne typische Wirtschaft. Schade.

Ich war hier schon lange nicht mehr. Wir hatten 40-Jährige Abiturfeier. Das Essen war hervorragend, allerdings die Bedienung etwas überfordert. Auf die Bestellung meines Essens musste ich eine halbe Stunde warten, auf meinen Nachtisch ebenso und die letzte Dreiviertelstunde saß ich ohne Getränk da, weil sich niemand mehr blicken ließ. Sie war aber sehr freundlich, war vielleicht ein Ausrutscher.

We were invited to a 70th birthday and were told we would have a smaller room to ourselves. About 25 relatives and friends were there - but also about 30 strangers celebrating a high school meeting, extremely loud. Only one waitress was supposed to fill in all orders. A plea to the restaurant owner was met with indifference, the other waiters came to the rescue. The food was fine, but the salad was too large with little dressing and half the mousse would have sufficed. The hosts apologized profusely for a planning that the owner had done out of greed. What a shame.
