Augustiner Bräustuben in München

We died of thirst in the brewery! We just wanted to have a quick beer or two. Unfortunately, we weren't served for a hand-timed 20 minutes, but were instead put off ("give me another 5 minutes"). The only waiter apparently assigned to us had to serve two huge tables, while all the other waiters had almost nothing to do (but weren't "in charge"). We sat 1 meter from the beer keg and didn't get anything to drink. Why we were seated at that particular table remains a mystery. When we complained to our colleagues as we left, all we got was a disinterested shrug. Thank goodness there are enough alternatives in the city...

The Radler was very good...packed to the roof and therefore quite loud but I thought it was quaint, normal prices, food was good, just a kid's portion...waiter quick and friendly...would go back..

No wonder why the Augustiner Bräustuben is a popular place. The food was excellent and served up quickly. The atmosphere speaks of a long tradition.

Crowded place, but good food and drinks

A real brewery feel. The beer was good, of course, and the Obazda (traditional sausage) was tasty, too. There's also a beer garden.

A Munich original. You can come anytime, for any occasion. You should generally like beer and enjoy it in a traditional setting. If you have the opportunity, you should take advantage of the roof terrace.

The waiter offered me the different meal from my order so I had another different Bavarian meal...It's worth of it tho.Also it's very vibrant local restaurant with so many customers there...very affordable nice beer there!Very cool experience!

We went to this typical Bavarian restaurant, good food. The staff was very negative, as soon as they heard that we spoke Italian they didn't consider us anymore, this happened in the room on the right when you enter. In the room on the left instead we found a very kind waiter who spoke a little Italian and helped us choose the food. We went to pay and another waiter treated us very badly as soon as he heard that we spoke Italian. So we turned to the waiter who served us and everything went well. I strongly advise Italians NOT TO GO TO THIS PLACE.

Authentic inn in the Augustiner Brewery with unbeatable prices. Very loud, but that's to be expected in a brewery.

Worst experience. This is my first 1-star review. - When I told them I wanted to pay with a card, they reacted unpleasantly, - When I paid, they tried to charge me 4.6 euros more than the amount on the receipt, - When I brought up the issue, they were rude and threw 2 euro coins on the table during the meal. - In the end, I tipped them for the unsatisfactory service, but in return, they treated me badly. The overall level of service was also very disappointing. - Even though there was plenty of seating in the restaurant, they didn't show me the way right away, - They turned around and brought out the menu I didn't want before I finished ordering my beer. - I could feel a clear difference in their attitude from local customers. Since the food was also below par, there was absolutely no reason to endure all this unpleasantness.

No matter how drunk you are, remember what you ate! I just passed it by because it was vague, but it turned out not to be, so I went back and checked! I didn't think it was intentional and passed it by (they even showed me a picture), but I don't know if it was a calculation mistake or intentional, so Koreans should definitely check thoroughly! The atmosphere is good. I found that the people who eat a lot of delicious food, the German culture is very interesting, they tend to eat a lot and sometimes even eat a lot, but they always eat a lot. But the language doesn't always make sense, so they don't ignore it or give up.

Someone took our booked table so we ended up squeezing on with strangers for a catch up after nearly 20 years! Hopefully they didn't mind us joining them. Other than giving our table to another party the staff were attentive and the food was lovely.

Great place for a simple beer or to eat. Competitive prices. It is a fixed stop for us every year for the unmissable Bavarian summer or Christmas vacation. However, it is necessary to book if you want to take a table for lunch or dinner. At other times we sat down immediately and were served immediately from the menu. One evening, however, without a reservation and with the place full, they did not tell us to wait for a table to become free, they told us that the beer hall was full, we went elsewhere.

Great service and delicious authentic German food. Go for a beer, stay for the atmosphere!

We arrived at 10:30 p.m., and it's actually open until midnight. We weren't allowed to sit at the tables; they were already set up for the next day, so we sat at the bar. We got a beer there, were then rudely asked to pay after only half of it, and then the bar was "cleaned" with a hose, meaning it was sprayed down, so we were all drenched with cleaning water... I've honestly never experienced such bad service.

I really enjoyed this experience. I went to another well-known place, but I liked this one much more, because of the service and also because I was at the bar. Fantastic, the waiter who is serving the beers is a real work machine. My sincere congratulations

I paid in cash, but they said they didn't have change and took a tip without permission.

We were there with a larger group. Half of the food (roast) was cold. Otherwise, the food was rather poor. Highway service station standard. The Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) and the onion roast beef were mediocre. Otherwise, at least the beer was tasty. A shame for Munich and its tradition.

You'll enjoy this place so much, I can't tell you how good the beer is. Nowhere else will you drink beer like this, nowhere else experience such an atmosphere, and nowhere else eat such good food. Anyone who comes to Munich should definitely experience the hospitality of German guests, the German ambiance, and German flavors, beers, and food. You will enter a world of wonder.

It seems they only serve Germans. I said hello and politely asked for a table for one. They gave me directions in barely understandable German. I sat down and waited at least 20 minutes without any attention. I approached another waiter to ask, but I almost lost my temper. I had to approach the bartender. He ironically pointed me to a table because according to him, they were all available. When it came time to ask for the bill, I had to ring twice. The food looked tastier than it was. The beer was good.

Only the adjoining room is good. The crowd is too loud, but the 10-beer menu is great.

Augustiner really needs no lengthy introduction; it's even widely known, partly thanks to Oktoberfest. So, it's important to know that it gets very loud inside. I also don't need to elaborate on the first-class beer here; they have one of the world's best beers, and their non-alcoholic option is also highly recommended. Augustiner offers traditional Bavarian delicacies and fresh, draft Augustiner beer from wooden barrels, backed by an experience that dates back to the 14th century. I can only recommend it!

I stumbled into this Augustiner 10 years ago and had a fantastic time on the rooftop with my family, we even chatted up a few locals! I recently came back for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint. This location is cool because the brewery is right next door!

A very bavarishe atmosphere, great local beers and wonderful food and service! You could not get wrong here!

If you are looking for a real German experience this place is a must. We came here unplanned and eventhough we didn't have a reservation they squeezed us in on a Saturday morning. Very greatful! Thank you so much. Service was very quick eventhough the place was packed shortly after we arrived. We enjoyed a traditional Bavarian breakfast with Weißwurst, Brezel and of course Bier. The pretzel was fresh and warm. I certainly plan on visiting again and would love to tour the brewery.

Beer 🍻 Delicious, lots to choose from Price is not expensive 50cl. 3.70€ Pork leg is very crispy. Too bad for us, it's a bit salty. German beer hall atmosphere, don't miss it, highly recommended.

Wir waren mit einer großen Gruppe > 250 Personen zu einer Abendveranstaltung dort zu Gast. Der Festsaal ist sehr gemütlich, gutes Essen, leckeres Bier, da passt alles. Es ist allerdings ziemlich laut - es herrscht Oktoberfest-Atmosphäre - das ist ganz schön, auch die Life Musik war ausgezeichnet. Man konnte sich allerdings kaum unterhalten, da die Bayerische Festkapelle ununterbrochen und dann auch sehr kräftig die Blasinstrumente nutzte. Auch wenn die Musi Pause hatte, kam keine Unterhaltung in Gang, da sich die „Hörknöchelchen“ erst mal wieder erholen mussten. Es war schön, ein Erlebnis!

Situado a pocos pasos de la estación central de Múnich, es una joya escondida repleta de lugareños y viajeros inteligentes por igual. Las porciones son generosas, los precios son muy justos, y la calidad de la comida es de primera categoría. Pedí el Schweinshaxe (nudillo de cerdo asado) y fue absolutamente increíble: crujiente por fuera, tierno por dentro. Marida con su casa - cerveza Augustiner elaborada, que era una comida perfecta. El ambiente de la sala de cerveza es animado y encantador, con mesas largas, paredes de madera y paneles, y personal amable. Puede abarrotarse durante la cena, pero el ambiente es parte de la experiencia. Fui solo y todavía me sentía totalmente bienvenido. Muy recomendable para los viajeros de presupuesto que quieren un sabor real de Baviera sin gastar una fortuna.

Great brewery with great food, and it's also super affordable. Our server was very charismatic and prompt. The atmosphere is very authentic, and the beer tastes delicious! 🍻 We'll be back.

All four beers weren't filled to the fill line. The third beer didn't taste good at all (stale). We returned it after a brief discussion and got a new one. The food is very tasty, but the portions are rather small. The restaurant's ambiance is characterized by its spacious rooms and traditional Bavarian surroundings.

Whenever I'm in Munich, the Augustiner Bräustuben is an absolute MUST for me. That was also the case two weeks ago when I visited with three friends. Due to the cool weather, the roof terrace was closed, so we were seated with other people. That was fine for us. What I didn't like, and I wasn't used to seeing that from you, was that the mugs were no more than two-thirds full. Not just mine, but the others' as well, and the same for the next round. I then politely but directly told the waiter. Unfortunately, the mugs weren't up to the mark for the next round either. Two days later, we went back, and it was the same as always. Wonderfully fresh, cold beer at a very reasonable price. If this had been my first visit and not the twentieth or thirtieth, it would certainly have been my last, although the "surroundings" and the food were, as always, top-notch. Best wishes! PS: I'm coming to you at the beginning of June with a friend from northern Germany. He's never been to a Bavarian brewery. I expect everything will be great again! Best regards

Great experience, delicious food, friendly service

I traveled a long way just to enjoy a knuckle of pork. Unfortunately, I was significantly disappointed. The meat was not only dry, but also almost impossible to chew. In summary, this was not a positive experience.

The beers are half full, the rest is foam. The manager was extremely rude when we tried to point this out to him, despite having the waiter's support. The chicken was very dry. Not recommended

Roast pork was really good - spinach dumplings were not good!

Unfortunately, everything is rushed, and the food tastes accordingly. The cheese spaetzle isn't very loving. The cheese is run-of-the-mill... you can tell it's become a tourist destination.

They couldn't provide a paper menu in English. The Leberknödelsuppe was too salty and the crust of the Apfelstrudel was doughy instead of flaky. At the end, the head waiter was rude to my husband because he didn 't want to separate the checks.

A true classic that delivers on its promise! I had the pork knuckle – wonderfully crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. It was accompanied by a couple of Augustiner Hell beers, as it should be: fresh, drinkable, and at the perfect temperature. The combination was simply unbeatable. The ambiance is rustic Bavarian without being pretentious – exactly what you'd expect from a traditional brewery. The service was friendly and prompt, despite the crowds. If you're in Munich and looking for an authentic pub experience with excellent beer and hearty food, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

I honestly do not recommend it. The store is too distracting and the staff took my order 30 minutes after I sat down. After that, I received my food 30 minutes later. If you scan the QR on the menu, you can see the English menu. I ordered chicken schnitzel and received it with french fries. I think they used frozen ones, but the texture was like double fried chicken nuggets. It was very dry and the sauce they gave me was mustard and ketchup, but it was ready-made. The stout was smooth and edible, but the quality of the schnitzel was quite poor, making for an unsatisfactory meal. I was forced to tip and I will never go back.

Wir waren in der Augustiner Braustuben zum Mittagessen und wirklich begeistert. Das Essen sehr lecker, die Bedienung hätte zwar freundlicher sein können, aber echt auf Zack, das Ambiente urig, bayrisch, gemütlich und Bier vom Fass 0,5 Liter 3,70 € -> sehr lecker und ein Traum. Auf Anfrage wird es sogar aus dem Holzfass gezapft. Wir können es 100%ig weiter empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder :)!!!

Very good local cuisine. The kartoffelsalat and beer is excellent. However, upon arrival, we asked for assistance with ordering and the server raised his eyebrows, ignored us while we were talking, and turned around to talk to other customers who had just arrived, even though we had been waiting for our service for about 10 minutes. Luckily we got great service from a second server.

Terrible, the schnitzel wasn't even cooked through, just breadcrumbs. Waiters shit on each other. Not honest at all.

Had a Augustiner Edelstoff followed by Crispy Backhendl and Augustiner Hefeweissbier. Food is great and beer as usual is nice in Germany. Went to the rooftop for this meal and everything is perfect.

Awesome place!!! As a torista you come here and see lots of movement, languages you do not understand and the a waiter full of great attitude ask you what do you want? Good service, food and drinks were served quickly. However the food is made more in bulk and it shows. The beer is not expensive here even though it's an established brand.

Toilets are terrible, smell of urine...too many staff standing around.

Delicious food, good service, value for money

The atmosphere is nice. To be frank, this place is a hidden gem. It's in a rather lonely place, in the exact opposite direction from downtown Munich, but there were many customers sitting at the many tables with reservation tags... mostly 4-5 friends or families. There were only a few solo customers left. I don't see any continental groups making loud noises...I guess it's natural given the location lol I tried saying Beer Bitte and Oz's "duck" here too lol However, the meter looked at me with a puzzled expression and shook its head lol. Three Weisswurst bottles with a gentle herbal scent and a slightly spicy feel. A pretzel with a chewy texture and a slightly firm texture. It has a strong salty taste. There's no way this beer can't be good. In Germany, the Beer Purity Law was enacted in 1516, which stipulated that only barley, hops, water, and yeast could be added to beer, and it is still strictly adhered to. Beer made according to this law is not suitable for long-term storage or long-distance transportation, so there are no breweries that cover all of Germany. Therefore, the fresh beer made in small breweries scattered around the country can be considered the true German beer. Am I the only one who thinks that German beer in Japan doesn't taste good at all?

Food cold, promotional beer (Maibock) empty. Unfortunately, there was an event in the large room at the same time and the waiters and the kitchen were completely overworked. The beer took a long time to be served (I was completely finished before the one I ordered with the meal arrived) and some of it was sold out. The food was cold and had the character of upscale cafeteria food. Very unfortunate. We'll try it another time on the roof terrace, hoping there won't be an event then. Unfortunately not recommended at the moment.

The Bräustubem are a classic place for groups and tourists to celebrate and experience the Bavarian beer culture. Everything from half a barrel to a barrel of beer at the table is possible. The hearty food rounds it all off. Service and food are rather average - no offense intended - for this type of entertainment you can't imagine it being any other way, and for that it's very good.

While the Bräustuben used to be a place where you could comfortably go and spend a sociable evening, it is now really just a tourist rip-off. Mediocre food, waitresses who take forever, have no overview, and when they are there, they only take the drinks. The colleague takes the food. We sat for half an hour recently before we could even order our food. Repeatedly asking, waving and even going to one of the waiters had no success. Everything was very indifferent and unloving.

Very good WW breakfast, unfortunately the mustard is only available individually packaged. Service is good, we like to come back again and again.

Nice traditional and large brewery. The half of the barrel tastes good, as usual for Augustinians, and the price is unbeatable for Munich. Unfortunately, I would now describe the food as average. In our group, at least two people were disappointed with their dish on every visit (e.g. Münchner Schnitzel is a dry, run-of-the-mill schnitzel without any horseradish taste; meat/sauces are sometimes extremely salty, some dishes are almost cold when served, etc.). Looking at the information on the menu, unfortunately a lot of cooking uses flavor enhancers, preservatives and E numbers.

Got really really bad. The ambience is okay, but everything is very old - do you need to renovate? None. By Bavarian standards, the food is now only slightly above a snack bar; The last time I didn't manage to order because the waiter just stopped coming and at some point I didn't feel like it anymore. This time we had roast pork, the meat was dry, the dumplings were lukewarm on the inside, cold on the outside, the crust was like rubber, the sauce was generic but okay. As I said, this was the second time I was there in a few months and both times the service was non-existent. Although it wasn't that full (there were a bunch of empty tables), we waited for well over half an hour this time until an unfriendly waiter decided to take our order (at least we were able to order this time); During this time, several small groups sat down with us and each left because the (many!) waiters skillfully ignored them or didn't show up after saying "I'll be there immediately." It was only our repeated complaints to the presumed shift manager that ultimately led to an order being taken after around 40 minutes. At least the beer still tastes good - the Augustiner is just a bank. This used to be a really nice shop, but unfortunately it's now a low-profile place.

Was deducted by €90. Very unfriendly waiters. We immediately shouted at you because the waiter wanted another €10 after an additional €90 rip-off. Never again. The food was tasty but the service was terrible. We got money back from our boss plus additional money. So we paid less overall. Just threaten with a bad Google rating and it will work

Unfortunately the worst restaurant visit in a long time... At first the reservation wasn't found and we were seated somewhere, but unfortunately there were already others sitting there... After the seated people had moved, the next ones came 5 minutes later and we were told to leave, but we said no. After finding an alternative table for the waiting guests, the next highlight came, starter and main course almost at the same time... What ended it all: The food was COLD. Our neighboring table reported the same situation. Therefore only 1 star for service and food! The ambience is very nice, hence 4 stars

Es hat schon bei der Reservierung angefangen, denn unser Tisch wurde doppelt belegt und als die nachkommenden Gäste ankamen wurden wir blöd angemacht „warum wir denn hier sitzen“….Das Essen kam alles zur selben Zeit, sprich Suppe Vorspeise und Hauptgang mit der Begründung, dass es gerade Stress gibt. Zudem war das Essen sehr kalt und nicht nur bei uns sondern auch am Nachbartisch. Die Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich und pampig zu uns. Hier werde wir nicht mehr essen gehen. Der Einzige Pluspunkt heute ist, das Bier ist günstig…

Despite the lines on the beer mats, the waitress wanted to charge 12 people for 8 more beers than were drunk. So be careful with the bill, this has happened to us five times in the last 7 visits.

If you want a Hofbräuhaus atmosphere, but less intrusive, less touristy and with better beer (light beer from a wooden barrel), this is the place for you.

Awesome place to have a quick meal followed by one or more rounds of drink, either with a group of people or alone. Because of the placement of the tables, it’s easy to find someone to talk to. Also, quick service, both drinks and food!

Amazing lively atmosphere with good food. A must go-to place for anyone coming to Munich! The highlight was the traditional German platter featuring a succulent roasted pork knuckle, flavorful bratwurst and frankfurter sausages, tender roasted chicken, and a delightful potato dumpling, all drenched in a rich brown gravy. Each bite was a taste of authentic German cuisine. *though it can get quite loud and energetic, perfect for a fun evening out but not a romantic date

We (about 10 Augustiner fans) were there for the last time about 10 years ago. A lot seems to have changed since then. The service staff did a good job. However, the atmosphere in there was very loud and uncomfortable. The food was served quickly but lukewarm. At some point, very loud Ballermann-style party music blared from a huge loudspeaker and it smelled like vomit the whole time. Thankfully the billing was settled quickly so we could leave and look for another location.

Yesterday we were at the brewery with a group of eight people around 7:30 p.m. Despite a reservation, we were seated at a table with three strangers. The table smelled unpleasantly of vomit. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he said it couldn't be, at least from yesterday. He reluctantly brought us a cloth so that we could wipe the table again ourselves. The drinks came quickly, but there was still leftover food in a glass. When asked, the waiter said it had to be that way. The food also came promptly, some of it was very good, few were disappointed. After the other group left the table, a new group was also placed next to us. The atmosphere was very loud, other guests were always particularly loud and were warned for it. In summary, the prices were very good, the food was mostly tasty, but the service was subpar, and the waiters were very unfriendly. We will not visit the brewery again.

It's delicious. There are a variety of meats such as fish and chicken (because some restaurants only have schnitzel and pork legs haha).
