We went to this restaurant for lunch today. We chose it based on the good reviews. We both ordered the original Viennese Kaiserschnitzel with fried potatoes and a small salad on the side. The schnitzel was completely unseasoned, meaning no salt or pepper. The breading completely fell off the first time we cut it, leaving us with only a two-millimeter-thick piece of meat. The fried potatoes were just boiled potatoes that had been tossed in a pan. They don't deserve to be called fried potatoes. Now for the small salad: it had two slices of cucumber and two slices of tomato on it. The rest was lettuce. And all that for €6.90. The price-performance ratio doesn't do it justice. The schnitzel came for just under €28. The service was also very slow at first. The drinks order and delivery were quite quick. But we had to wait about 30 minutes for the food order. We then asked for someone, who arrived 10 minutes later. The food delivery was quick. Our conclusion: This was our first and last time at this restaurant. I have no problem spending money on a good meal, but this meal was simply bad.

Exceptional quality of the dishes, excellent service, the best of the last years

We were here for the first time (Sunday - Friday) and it was absolutely top-top-top. The breakfast was very, very good, with a huge selection. The food in the restaurant was amazing. A 1 out of 100 stars. We haven't eaten this well in a long time, no matter what the menu was, it was simply top-top-top. The only thing is, there's nothing going on in Herrsching. A desolate place!!!! Not a place for a vacation. The town could rethink that. But the post office is taking care of that. It's nice to be in the post office. Very, very friendly staff. We would come back just for the post office, but not for Herrsching. Boring. Please keep up the good work, you're great!

I'm only reviewing the restaurant, not the hotel. It was our first time there, and I couldn't believe they actually had a gluten-free schnitzel. It was delicious and well-made, and they could definitely list it more prominently on the menu. Service was okay, probably because it was busy.

We received a very friendly welcome at this centrally located hotel and felt very comfortable. The entire staff was very friendly and cheerful! We would like to highlight the breakfast, which was a top-notch! An extremely pleasant stay for us, and thanks also to the very friendly manager 🙋‍♂️😉👌

We were there for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast itself was an absolute delight. There's a breakfast buffet until 10 a.m., and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a la carte breakfast is available, which is also sufficient.

I was just turned away with my severely disabled wife. The tables had gotten wet due to a shower. The dark-haired waitress was apparently overwhelmed by the task of quickly drying the tables. Our daughter was crying. I am deeply disappointed; we have been regular customers here on vacation for years. This was the last time. Very sad....

Highly recommended!! (if you don't necessarily want to stay right by the lake) Very nice and comfortably furnished rooms in this inn with a 500-year tradition. Lots of details and goodies for guests, such as mineral water and a Nespresso machine always available in the hallway. Great beds! The friendliness of the staff is unbeatable!! Very guest-oriented, funny, warm, and professional, especially the ladies. A lovely menu and a superb breakfast! Enjoy it on the terrace if you like. Great rustic beer garden. I'm a regular here. It's a very family-run inn with a consistent manager who, in my opinion, represents a great philosophy. Guests and employees are treated as equals and each other with respect. Perhaps this also helps her retain motivated, albeit non-specialist, service staff, which is currently a real challenge in the industry. The opening hours are also unique, something hardly any other inn in the region can offer. I like to go there often, partly because it exudes a cozy atmosphere, both inside and out. This is a different review without a focus on the food, but I think these aspects are precisely what make the inn unique. Edit: Unfortunately, according to a server, they no longer serve daily newspapers. It's a shame for me as a regular. It was a nice service that other inns don't offer.

The ambience of the restaurant, terrace, and beer garden are appealing and inviting. The menu sounded promising, but the portions were disappointingly small—especially considering the prices. While the food tasted good, the value for money left much to be desired—which is why it loses one star. The service team is impeccable, extremely friendly, and attentive. We were given detailed information about the daily specials, served promptly, and looked after with exceptional friendliness. Overall, a good impression—with potential for improvement if the portion sizes are improved. P.S.: We've eaten at GH Post several times; a few weeks ago, the portion sizes were more reasonable. Our impression is that the restaurant has reduced the portion sizes and kept the prices the same.

We can't comment on the room. The meal was incredibly good, with 3 large schnitzels and roast pork. The waiter was amazing, positively! My dog ​​doesn't get any water; he deserves better than champagne! Of course, there was water in the champagne bottle that filled the bowl. We laughed a lot.

I really shouldn't give it a star. I had reserved for one night, but my reservation couldn't be found even though I had a confirmation. There were no rooms available either. I slept in the car that night. I definitely won't be back.

I wish the menu and jokes on the board in the beergarden weren't so sexist. Reading that feels like they still live in the middle ages. Service and location is great though, especially sitting outside with nice weather.

We've been to the Gasthof zur Post several times before. But the way we were approached today was reason enough to go again. We simply asked if we could sit outside for the lunch menu. The response was very rude. There were only two waiters, and that just wasn't possible. We then stood in the entrance area without being assigned a seat or even being spoken to further. The two ladies continued to chat privately. We then left. Considering the high prices at the Post Office, the staff should show a bit more sensitivity.

Based on my experiences, I immediately asked if there was gluten-free food and he immediately told me what was possible. Confident, friendly and helpful! My wife and I were guests at the Gasthof Zur Post from Thursday to Sunday. Breakfast was very good, there was everything you need for a good breakfast. Delicious whole grain bread, fresh fruits, salmon, etc. Staff super nice. Dinner with a good selection. The schnitzels with cucumber and potato salad are a must. The prices are not out of the ordinary. With the redfish I would like 2 slices of fish because it tastes very tasty, even if it would cost more. Overall, an original Bavarian. Inn that offers guests a piece of an ideal world with a lot of love and ideas. We will definitely come back, especially since the Ammersee is beautiful. Thanks and greetings to everyone.

The post office in Herrsching is definitely worth a visit! The food was great, and the atmosphere was just right. The experience in the restroom was particularly unexpectedly funny—a real eye-catcher! I'd love to come back.

Beautiful, typically Bavarian inn. The food was very, very good and the service too! I'm really excited! There were meat patties with creamed kohlrabi (not in the picture) and salad! I came here with my girlfriend on a recommendation. All I can say is it was super delicious. The schnitzel is a poem and you can tell the chef is apparently in love. The gravy was well salted but not over salted. One thing I can say is that it was my first but not my last visit. All in all it is recommended.

I went for dinner with my wife. The staff was very friendly and the food was really good. The meat was perfect, crispy on the outside and slightly pink on the inside. My wife's Wiener schnitzel was also very tasty! We'd be happy to go back anytime.

This clean and great Bavarian hotel is a 7-minute walk from the S-Bahn station. I would actually like to give the hotel 7 stars because as a guest you will be perfectly pampered by the very, very friendly staff, whose aim seems to be that you spend your days there beaming with joy (which has clearly been successful). In the outside and entrance area you can already see that there are lovingly surprising little things that will sweeten your stay. I don't want to tell you more about this because you should definitely experience it for yourself!! The breakfast buffet contains everything your heart desires, home-baked bread, various types of rolls and toppings, fresh scrambled eggs, fried eggs, fruit, yoghurts, milk slices etc. etc. The kitchen also prepares delicious Bavarian dishes at lunch and dinner! We ate here at the inn and were fascinated by the hospitality and the great service! The restaurant is run in a really warm and family way, but never lacks professionalism. We were served by Angi and Ahmet and felt very comfortable! Compliment! The food was delicious and the portions were really larger than average! Compliments to the kitchen at this point! Our dog was also very welcome. There was even a treat for them and, at the end, homemade dog liver sausage to take home. Thanks for the great experience.

I can't say anything about the rooms. We only went to the restaurant to eat. The waiters are very friendly, we had a small dog with us and were given water and treats for her straight away. The suckling pig and the Kaiserschmarren were very tasty. We have been coming from Munich for dinner about 1-2 times a year for several years. Always very satisfied ☺️

We sat in the large beer garden and it was completely overloaded with non-beer garden accessories such as gondolas, pavilions, etc. Leather pants hung on the toilet door and pretzels dangled over the urinals. It's supposed to be an adventure inn. Food and service were okay, but we won't be coming back.

Unfortunately I can't really say anything about the location as we were only here for one night as we were on our way home. Because it was raining and we weren't particularly weatherproof, we unfortunately weren't able to see the small town. But now I come to the hotel view. We arrived there super spontaneously and yet we received a very friendly welcome. Luckily there was still a room available. We were introduced once and then sat down in the “restaurant” and ate something. The service was great and it was a really delicious dinner. The breakfast is so good too. We already knew that hotels had to pay extra for tea or cappuccino, for example, but that was included in the price. There were a lot of homemade things that you could also buy, among other things. What we ate and tried was really delicious. We would definitely come back! :-) At the end I can only say that we felt that everything was done with a lot of love. (Small self-described signs also at the front of the door, in the hotel room and so on) This is something that many people would like to see more of and some owners could take a lesson from this. Therefore, even if it was only a small and very short stay, we would say that the friendliness should definitely remain and can be passed on to everyone. Best regards

I can't comment on the food or the rooms. However, very much about the friendliness, helpfulness and compassion. I provided senior care for an elderly disabled lady at her request. Since I had to move on straight away, we asked the staff to call a taxi for the lady to take her home to Breitbrunn after dinner. The employee who was first approached was hesitant, but willing to do so. But then a young lady from the team came and made it very clear to us that it would NOT be done!!! A lady from the team came to reinforce us and explained to us in a snotty, very clear tone that the staff didn't have time to arrange a taxi for their guests. I think it's an impudence to treat your guests, ESPECIALLY ELDERLY THOSE WHO WALK HEAVY ON THE CRUTCHES, in such an unfriendly, negative and disrespectful manner!!! I am aware that there is a shortage of staff everywhere and that the job is no walk in the park. But such behavior towards elderly people in need of help who are also paying guests is the VERY LAST THING!!!!! How would you think if YOUR PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS were rejected, rejected and treated like that?????? Dear Ms. Walch, Thank you for your reply. Basically, I understand your point of view. I stayed here completely by chance. My car broke down and I was desperately looking for a room in an otherwise fully booked place that evening. Actually, this hotel was also fully booked, but ...... The price was very reasonable, the room was cozy, the breakfast was phenomenal, the staff were friendly.
