Stylish hotel directly on the lake with excellent cuisine and very friendly service – ideal for a short break or business trip

The hotel is located directly on the lake. Our room even had a balcony overlooking the lake, which we hadn't booked. We were very happy that we didn't have to pay any parking fees (regularly €20 per day). The staff was competent and friendly, and the breakfast was good and plentiful. The dogs in the breakfast room were a nuisance. You can smell them now and then – and that spoils the breakfast. In addition, the total amount for the three rooms was charged to my Visa card on the first evening without any warning. So I had to ask my fellow travelers to transfer the hotel fees to me.

Restaurant: We ordered appetizers, and they arrived at different times, even after the first course was ready. Unfortunately, the same thing happened with the main course. It's a shame, because we actually wanted to eat everything together. It's bordering on rude. Sometimes we waited up to 45 minutes for drinks, and the wait for the food was correspondingly longer. The staff was really friendly, but extremely inattentive. The kitchen is very inflexible. Requests for a different side dish cannot be accommodated. At this price level, the kitchen should also be professional and responsive to guests. The prices are insane. For example, Aperol 0.3L €12.50 Quite nice, but I'd prefer other restaurants in the area. I don't know what happened here; perhaps a change of ownership.

Very friendly welcome and service, good sleeping comfort, quiet, the food selection and quality in the Steg32 restaurant left nothing to be desired, breakfast was a bit chaotic in terms of the arrangement of the dishes, pancakes were not produced despite requesting them an hour before breakfast service.

A very nice, well-located hotel. Super friendly staff. The price-performance ratio is no longer good. They try to compensate for the problem of the beds being too soft with toppers every time, but unfortunately it only works semi-effectively. Reception is friendly and very helpful, but there were some problems in other areas at the beginning. The restaurant staff weren't so attentive at first. But with Alberta, things improved. The cleaning staff in the room initially forgot to refill soap and toilet paper several times. After we pointed this out to reception, things improved. Parking now costs €20 per day. That's far too expensive. They want to match the restaurants in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, they don't do that with the beer prices, which are about €1 more expensive. In my opinion, they need to get back down to earth.

This is the third time we've stayed at this hotel, and overall, we've always been satisfied. The location is first-class, and the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Egg dishes made to order (even unusual requests are fulfilled whenever possible!). The staff is helpful and very friendly. However, there has been a disproportionate price increase compared to our last stays, which made me gasp for breath when I paid. Starting with the parking. I'm certainly willing to pay a certain fee for the (previously free) hotel parking. However, €20/day seems very high to me (for comparison: in a hotel in Cologne city center with a prime location, I pay €14/day for a video-monitored underground garage!). Furthermore, there's no guarantee that a parking space will actually be available in the evening. Room rates have also increased, although no significant changes/improvements have been made. Whether the price increase is related to a change in hotel management or the increased cost of living is debatable. Unfortunately, at these prices, a spontaneous vacation without calculating everything beforehand is no longer an option for me at this hotel. What a shame!

Tastefully furnished. A dream location right on the lake. A negative was the high parking fee: €20 per day. The wellness area is relatively small.

Upon arrival, we found a room filled with dust and cigarette smoke. Cobwebs and spiders were only removed after three requests. No apology or even compensation! The three-course meal was served by an arrogant waiter, the appetizer was missing ingredients (as we noticed when we looked at the neighboring table), the dessert was missing a spoon, and we waited in vain for the beer we ordered... On the positive side, the location and the breakfast were good. Conclusion: For this price, we expect more quality!

The hotel is in a great location, but the rooms, and especially the bathrooms, are showing their age. Overall, the hotel could be better maintained (e.g., there are a lot of spiders inside and out, etc.). The wellness area is small but comfortable. Breakfast is very good.

We spent an unforgettable weekend at the Ammersee Hotel for our small wedding. The direct lakeside location, the modern yet inviting ambiance, and the excellent restaurant made our celebration truly special. The entire team was friendly and extremely accommodating at all times and took all our worries away on the day of the celebration. A particularly lovely feature was a lovingly decorated table away from the hustle and bustle, allowing us to fully concentrate on our family and guests. A real highlight was the dog-friendliness: Our Australian Shepherd was allowed to accompany us everywhere (except for the dog-free spa area). We were delighted to see the harmonious interaction with other dog owners, which is by no means to be taken for granted. The breakfast was fantastic – with freshly squeezed juices, a large selection of coffee specialties, sparkling wine, a variety of egg dishes à la carte, and a stunning view of the lake. We also particularly appreciated the hotel's private jetty, which is perfect for swimming, relaxing, and sunbathing. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Dechantsreiter, who was always available to us, the friendly and attentive reception team, the dedicated restaurant team led by Mr. Juri, and the kitchen staff, who prepared our meals superbly. We will definitely be back!

A me e ai miei colleghi non sono stati pagati gli stipendi guadagnati. A molti sono state tolte 50–60 ore lavorative, senza spiegazioni. Gli straordinari non sono mai stati pagati, si lavorava nei weekend e nei giorni festivi, senza contratto e senza rispetto. I lavoratori vengono trattati senza dignità. La direzione lo sa – e non fa nulla. This is a disaster: stay all the way. This is a disaster: shoot us with your support. .............. CATASTROPHE - WARNING FOR EMPLOYEES AND GUESTS! The Hotel Ammersee in Herrsching am Ammersee is one of the worst employers I have ever encountered. I say this from personal experience. My colleagues and I were not paid the money we earned. Many employees "lost" 50-60 working hours. Overtime is not paid, people are forced to work on weekends and holidays without a contract or respect. Employees are not respected and are humiliated here. The management knows everything - and does nothing. If you are looking for a job - stay away. If you are a guest - think about whether it is worth supporting such exploitation. ...........

This was our third time in this hotel, but this is also the last time. The accommodation and service have become significantly worse since our first stay. This time (in March) we got an ice-cold room with cobwebs on the ceilings, mold in the bathroom and a lumpy mattress. When pointed out about the cobwebs and mold there was no comment and no apology. Unfortunately, the investment backlog is making this hotel increasingly unattractive. The bathrooms in the rooms in particular are as good as they were 30 years ago. The cushions in the dining area are extremely dirty. During our last stay, the hotel wanted 60 euros for a late check-out for 1 hour (12 p.m. instead of 11 a.m.).

A very nice and helpful crew and a perfect location on the lake

We spent two nights here and were super satisfied. Checking in and out was very easy. Hotel parking lot directly opposite is great. Breakfast top. Very very nice staff. We can also recommend the spa area and its massage treatments to everyone! All in all, it is highly recommended!

A beautiful hotel directly on Lake Ammersee – a real place to feel good! The staff are extremely friendly and warm, you can tell that they do everything they can to ensure that their guests have an unforgettable time. The dinner was delicious and left nothing to be desired. I was particularly impressed by the lovingly designed wellness area: stylishly furnished, with refreshing lemon water and tea - simply perfect for relaxing. Thank you for the great stay, I would love to come back!

The hotel has a fantastic location and is well equipped. The rooms are clean and modern. Dogs are also welcome here, we had everything ready for the dog in the room, including a culinary welcome for them. The dog was also immediately brought water in the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Very highly recommended! We'll be back!

The Ammersee Hotel is simply a dream! You are warmly welcomed upon arrival and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. The location directly on Lake Ammersee is perfect – with a breathtaking view over the water and beautiful sunsets. The rooms are modern, stylish and very clean, and you immediately feel at home. The breakfast is rich and leaves nothing to be desired - from fresh fruit to pastries to savory options. The restaurant is particularly impressive: regional and seasonal ingredients are used to create real culinary delights, and the team is extremely attentive and friendly.

Ammersee hotel My judgment only based on what I saw when passing by. The hotel not really big. Their room had balcony facing the lake. Ground floor is restaurant and full of people which facing the lake as well. Beautiful view. In front of hotel a path for people to walk and there are people picnic at lake side. There are many boats parking outdoor and also have houseboat. The lake extremely big. I didn’t finish the walk. This hotel has many things to offer for those who went there for holiday. Surrounded with many restaurants and beautiful view.

Chose this hotel for a short weekend. Our expectations were exceeded - everything was just right. About the friendliness and warmth of the staff, as well as the great, large room. Just the whole ambience. There is also nothing but the best to say about the in-house restaurant. The food was a dream. The breakfast buffet is so plentiful, there is everything your heart desires, from many different types of bread to an equally large selection of sausages and cheeses, as well as countless types of tea, etc. A gourmet dream. And of course I have to mention this great location right on Lake Ammersee. The great lounge is also worth mentioning - you can sit comfortably in the evening with a delicious cocktail directly on Lake Ammersee, what more could you want?? We will definitely come back. A small note on the side: there is no small refrigerator in the rooms. Would be better.

We were looking for an enjoyable break with an overnight stay and the 5-course menu. The kitchen is good and flexible. However, there is a lack of competence around the room. The room controller for the underfloor heating seal was fixed at 30C* and cannot be adjusted. When we left we found out that the heating was only done with the air conditioning and that the underfloor heating seal was no longer working. We both woke up independently at 4am as it was completely steamy. Here we noticed that the plate valve for the ventilation around the dark bathroom was clogged with dust and didn't work. You couldn't tilt the window because of the street noise. When the multiple split air conditioning system was switched off, it made clearly audible flow noises. You could have left out the bathroom sliding door, as you felt like your partner was there when you went to the toilet. What's sad, however, is that the 5-course gourmet menu doesn't even include 2 drinks in 3 hours. The bottom line is that the poor room and its lack of maintenance ruined our stay, which is why you can't speak of a recovery here

We spent three very nice days at the Hotel Ammersee. The location by the lake is fantastic, we really liked our room with a balcony and lake view. I would like to highlight the excellent service from all hotel and restaurant employees. The breakfast was very good and we were also completely impressed by the dinner in the associated restaurant. In addition, our dog was treated extremely friendly, which is another plus point for the hotel. The spa area is quite small and includes a sauna and a steam room, but is well maintained and clean. The relaxation area is really limited with only 5 loungers, so you might want to invest a little more here. A small point of criticism is that the room service was in the hallways quite early in the morning and some rumbling could be heard. The beds are also quite soft. But that didn't detract from the great stay, we'd love to come back 😌

We stayed there for one night at the end of November. The hotel itself is beautifully located and the room with a lake view was really great. The 6-course menu also left nothing to be desired… BUT: Apparently the heating system failed this weekend. We were completely cold while eating the entire evening, despite the restaurants being full. So much so that we had to wear thicker boots and continued to freeze despite the poncho. Some ladies even wore their winter coats to eat. Unfortunately, despite suggestions, no attempt was made to change the extremely unpleasant situation. Even at breakfast it was still relatively cool. When checking out, I once again made it very clear how much this incident had dampened the mood of the evening. Unfortunately, all that was expressed was regret and no accommodation in any way :o(…. I think the less than 24 hour stay was definitely too expensive for that.
