We really enjoyed the Gasthaus zur Schranne! The schnitzel was excellent, and the knuckle of pork was also delicious, albeit just a little too salty. The service and ambiance were also top-notch. We'd love to come back!

I passed by this restaurant on my way to Konstanz. The food is great and the service is excellent.

A great restaurant with, once again, very attentive and prompt staff. The food selection was extensive, and the dishes served were very filling. Absolutely fair value. Reservations are recommended, although there were still a few tables available inside and outside during our visit. Only the ambiance of the "beer garden" or outdoor area deserves a slight deduction. The high wooden walls made it feel a bit cramped and less inviting. The intention behind this is probably to separate the actual forecourt of the restaurant from the sidewalk, but perhaps a more pleasant atmosphere could be created here with planters or similar.

The restaurant is highly recommended. The food was delicious. It was also good value for money. Unfortunately, the pretzel was a bit dry, but the rest was even better. We had an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The apple strudel was very good. We were served by a very friendly waiter who was attentive at all times and made our visit even more enjoyable.

A culinary experience with charm and character In a world that all too often loses itself in haste, this house of hospitality offered us an oasis of enjoyment and warmth. The evening was carried by an atmosphere characterized by both professionalism and subtle warmth – the service, in particular, provided by a single gentleman, was a prime example of attentiveness, friendliness, and well-balanced restraint. His keen sense of the moment and his attentive manner remained in our fondest memories and were met with sincere praise. Culinary-wise, the menu revealed itself as a lovingly orchestrated composition of regionality and refinement. The pork fillet presented itself in tender perfection – it practically melted in the mouth, a poem in meat form. The cheese spaetzle, a house classic, proved to be a delicious revelation, rich in flavor yet lightly prepared. The beer – expertly tapped – was a delight for connoisseurs and laymen alike: golden-clear, with a head of impressive consistency and elegance. Even the apple strudel, though not entirely my personal favorite, left no doubt as to its quality and craftsmanship. The appetizer was also convincing – creamy, flavorful Obazda (traditional German cheese) with remarkable richness. Only the pretzel was a little dry, but this did not detract from the overall impression. An additional slice of bread to harmoniously balance the spread and the base would have been desirable, but this remains an almost forgivable flaw in an otherwise flawless dish. All in all, this experience was more than just a dinner – it was a moment of contemplation, joy, and deliciousness. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Absolutely recommended!!! It's best to reserve a table in advance, as the restaurant is incredibly popular. The selection of dishes is fantastic. Prices are reasonable. The service was very attentive and friendly. We had the pork medallions with spaetzle and the rösti with mountain cheese and bacon. Both dishes were simply fantastic. The desserts (chocolate cake and chocolate mousse) were the perfect end to a very enjoyable evening. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Super delicious food. The staff is friendly and attentive. "Unfortunately," it gets very busy, so you should definitely make a reservation in advance. We sat at a high table in the hallway to the restroom, and unfortunately, it was quite loud due to the large number of guests.

The food was a disaster! The lamb ragout tasted like nothing, the pork medallions were still rare, and the rest of the food wasn't tasty either. Service was good, the atmosphere was cozy but too loud.

The roast pork was a sloppy little thing—not a nutty piece—cheap meat. It was a cut from the outside and not exactly generous (the second slice was dry). The premium quality arrived late and was lackluster.

The dining room is quite large, and therefore quite loud. And then there are the unruly children. But that's not the restaurant's fault. The prices, like almost everywhere else, are completely inflated.

Very good food. Service was prompt at all times. I personally found the dining room a bit too large—it was almost like a train station concourse. The prices are quite high, but you get quality for that.

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food or the ambiance; we didn't get that far. We had booked a table online, and that was fine. On the last evening, we were told we had 1 hour 15 minutes. We declined, as we wanted to enjoy our meal in peace and quiet. So, we can't recommend it unless you're looking to eat in a hurry.

Ate here during our first night in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and loved it! Everyone was very nice and welcoming despite our limited German, and the food was very delicious. Very great choice for authentic Bavarian.

We regularly stop at Schranne when we're passing through and have always been very satisfied - friendly service, always a seat available, cozy atmosphere and delicious food. This time we were unfortunately a bit disappointed: the meat pan was quite greasy and consisted almost exclusively of sauerkraut, the spinach dumplings were also dry and didn't have enough butter, and the schnitzel was a bit tough and the rösti were unfortunately also a bit too fatty. It's a shame, because we were looking forward to the food as always.

Gemütliches Restaurant mit schönem Innenbereich und nettem Außenbereich. Auf der Karte finden sich eine gute Auswahl an Standardgerichten und eine saisonale Wochenkarte. Von dieser haben wir Spargelgerichte gewählt, beide waren ausgezeichnet. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend, wir werden bei unserem nächsten Garmisch-Besuch bestimmt wieder vorbeischauen.

Delicious! The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very nice with a short live music interlude at the end ☺️ We had the liver dumpling and wedding soup as a starter, both very tasty, and the main course was the schnitzel, which was also very filling. We had booked a table for 7 p.m. and had it confirmed. When we arrived we were informed that our table was available for 1 hour and 15. We rejected that and left again. When you want to eat dinner, I don't want to look at the clock. Maybe the innkeeper should get a drive-thru, or perhaps the guest should leave the innkeeper's money directly on the stairs so he doesn't have to bend down. We are extremely disappointed because we were looking forward to this evening.

Unfortunately I can't rate the food here, only the service. Yesterday evening we tried to get a table for 4 people without a reservation. We asked politely whether there was anything available even without a reservation, then the restaurant checked to see if there was anything available for us, and we heard another colleague comment: "They have a small child with them." Then the lady came back and told us that there were no tables left. As we were about to leave the restaurant, the next visitors were asked if they had a reservation, they answered the question with "no", there were also 4 people... Finally they were asked into the restaurant and we stood at the exit quite frustrated! More discrimination is not possible... What a shame, we would have liked to have tried the food and rated it!

We booked a table for an early dinner on Easter Sunday. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table, and the wonderful server Naomi, took great care of us throughout the meal. We each had a delicious dish, I took advantage of spargel season and had absolutely the best Hollandaise sance, light, fluffy, lemony, absolutely wonderful. My partner had his favorite Zwiebel Rostbraten, very tender and flavorful. Good wine list, and of course, Bavarian beer. A very satisfying meal.

My boyfriend and I are very enthusiastic about the food and the friendly staff! I had the onion roast and can definitely recommend it. A dream 😊 We'll be back!

Everything was just great. Food was tasty, big menu, there are special options like farm goose that need to be ordered in advance and also seasonal menu. Selection of local beers that are fresh and tasty. Food was delivered fast, friendly service, big tables, enough space. Nice authentic design.

We have already made reservations in the Schranne twice for our vacation from home (based on the good reviews). It was worth it. The food is a poem. Everything we ordered was a positive surprise. We were incredibly happy every evening. Rarely do you find such good taste combined with a relaxed atmosphere without chichi. We would be available for a branch in Berlin. 🙃

The best roast onion I've ever eaten. Respect to the kitchen. The service was also great and the Augustiner on tap is simply delicious. 5 stars are still not enough. Thank you for the lovely evening!

The Gasthaus zur Schranne has a very rustic interior and serves Bavarian specialties and seasonal dishes. The dishes eaten were all very tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the Kaiserschmarren. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately it wasn't even that good - the main course was forgotten, service was unfortunately difficult to get to the table and the schnitzel breading was so soggy that unfortunately even the frozen product from the microwave is better. It's a shame, we were hoping for something better for Easter Sunday.

You can easily reserve online in advance. The guest room impresses with its size and has great pictures and paintings, making it really charming. The conditions are attentive and absolutely on point. We decided on an asparagus cream soup and then cheese spaetzle and pike perch with risotto. Sufficiently large portions and the taste was absolutely good. The beer also tastes great. A visit is definitely recommended.

We were served by the most personable waitress, Noemi, and had a wonderful time here. Very tasty food, super fast and staff simply unbeatable! Very happy again ♥️

Food tasted great. First of all, mixed salad, which was served in a mason jar; Extra dressing (so the salad wasn't soaked in the dressing and you could dose it yourself) and a cream of asparagus soup; also very tasty. Main course “Garmischer Bauernschmaus@” and “Pumpkin Bagel”. The taste was very good - but unfortunately not enough to fill you up...despite the starters. For dessert there was the Kaiserschmarrn and the apple strudel...both ok. The ambience is more reminiscent of a large company canteen than of a rustic Bavarian restaurant.

I don’t know whether It was just an off day, but the food was not good. Many dishes tasted like it was missing ingredients, or maybe they just make it like that, due to all the tourism and food demand. As a Bavarian, I expected more. The service was nice .

There were two of us at dinner and we ordered two soups as a starter and two main courses. We asked for a separate plate, which was charged at €2.50. Unfortunately, this type of money-grabbing is becoming more and more widespread

I was dazzled by an overall rating of 4.7. Unfortunately everything is just average. Käsespätzle were dry and €18 was a proud price. Service is rather hectic, you don't really feel comfortable there.

Unfortunately, my dish was a very subpar finished meal. The waitress then offered me a free dessert as an apology. I would have expected much better quality from my bakery. For this reason I probably won't come back.

The food was ready-made. At least I didn't get sick, so it gets one star. Very expensive for almost the lowest quality.

In Garmisch, this restaurant is our children's favorite restaurant. Very child-friendly (including free food up to 6). If the children are louder, it will be lost in the spacious rooms.

So I totally loved this place. I think the servers name was Anna and she was very nice and helpful. I went to dinner with my father in law and he also loved it. It was quite when we got there but my understanding is about 7pm it gets retry wild. I really enjoyed the golosh and the farmers treat! Plus it’s a German beer hall so the beer was fantastic

I don't recommend it. We were 3 people and no one liked it. The roast is hard and tasteless. The zander tasted like I was eating paper, and the risotto was swimming in fat. All dishes were slightly seasoned. The prices are quite high for such quality.

On our way back from our holiday in Austria we stopped at GAP and visited this restaurant. The nice decor and promise of regional cuisine enticed us. Unfortunately the appearance does not match the taste of the dishes. The food was bland, the meat tough, the risotto overcooked and the whole thing bathed in a large amount of fat. The fat still belched in our belches for a long time after the meal. During the meal no one came up to us to ask how the dishes tasted. I do not recommend.

Bedienung sehr freundlich, Essen durchnittlich. Wir wurden leider nachdrücklich und unfreundlich aufgefordert das Lokal zu verlassen da andere Gäste kommen würden. Wir waren 5 Personen inklusive unserem Enkel im Rollstuhl. Bei Beschwerde wäre es beinahe mit dem Restaurantleiter gekommen. Wir haben einen sehr guten Umsatz gemacht. GREAT food with Bavarian flair.

A time-honored, typically Bavarian inn that we visited twice because we simply love the atmosphere. The young waitresses are quick, hard-working and make the guests enjoy their jobs. The food was very tasty and served quickly. We made reservations in advance and can highly recommend the inn, which is why we would like to come back.

The food was amazing, a good selection of Bavarian food and delicious desserts. The food prices are fair, with good options under 20€. I went for the Veal Schnitzel, totally worth it. Also there is a wide selection of delicious digestifs :D

We came here by accident and walked in without a reservation. They very kindly assigned us to a table where there was a reservation in an hour and a half (we promised that we would leave in good time). The pleasant surprises continued with the excellently cooked dishes. I recommend the calf's tail!! It was perfectly cooked. As well as schnitzel, burger and steak!! The white beer (my favorite) did not disappoint me this time either. We will definitely be back!!
