Good beer nice shop! Unfortunately the burger is a bit expensive! For just twice the meat, 7 euros more, I would only try it once! But it still tasted good! The waitresses were nice and friendly! Please change the bread from the sausage salad. That was so dry.

Jan 2025 Another great trip skiing and eating at Schranne. Aug 2024. Still the friendliest place to be. Great food & helles. Well done Team. Feb 2024. Back again for fasching. The Augustiner Brau is still at its finest. It is essential to check the quality regularly. Back again in February 2023 for fasching. Frau Hike looked after us very well again with fassbier. Yes, this is helles heaven. The food is also of high quality. The locals also made us feel very welcomed, especially Sebb. This is now my go-to place in GAP. I am in bier heaven! Fresh from the barrel. Zum wohl!

The food was fantastic! We once had the Bavarian onion roast. The meat is so tender and the sauce goes well with it. The cheese spaetzle with it was also a dream! Another dish we had was the mountain rösti, which was really delicious 😮‍💨 The service is also super friendly and the food comes really quickly! Can only be recommended!

We really liked the rustic ambience of the country inn. The food was also very nicely prepared. It was just a shame that the spinach dumplings weren't available in small portions. Otherwise there would have been room for a cheese soup. I always think it's a shame when restaurants don't offer small portions. In this case it would have been quite easy to just put 2 dumplings on the plate instead of 3. Small portions also help prevent food waste. I also missed a pepper mill on the table. Overall, I can definitely recommend the restaurant.

Very tasty food - I thought it was particularly great that, despite traditional food, several vegetarian dishes and even a very tasty vegan one (unfortunately rarely found in Bavarian restaurants) made it onto the menu and it wasn't just the classic cheese spaetzle. However, I have one comment: vegetarian dishes should ideally not have Parmesan on them as standard or even included in them, as they usually contain animal rennet. Otherwise, the service was very friendly and overall you felt very comfortable there

It was my first time as a guest there and I absolutely loved it! Surprisingly - I was able to briefly enjoy the accompanying live music! The atmosphere, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful! Although there was a lot of traffic, the waitresses were very friendly, had everything under control and the food was at the table quickly! The roast pork was VERY GOOD!

Great service, would be placed on the first floor and the noise collision was more pleasant there than downstairs. Cheese spaetzle was okay but there could have been more strings of cheese and the creaminess could have been a little more

Big disappointment 😳. Meat was dry, sauerkraut like it came from a jar: hard and unseasoned. Hardly any sauce. Stupid table upstairs despite reservation. The only bright spot was the friendly service.

It's just a typical tourist bar. Large selection of food. Friendly service. Not enough sauce when roasting pork. Potato and coleslaw from the bucket. Quaint economy.

Unfortunately, the reservation was not entirely successful. We were offered a table at 4pm for 2 hours and when we got there we were told the table was reserved for 3pm. When we said so, the receptionist no longer had a friendly face for us. We found that very unfortunate. The other ladies serving at the table, however, were very friendly. The food was very tasty and was served quickly. The rooms seemed a bit big and not that comfortable.

Great restaurant with authentic German food and feel. It’s great to experience a true German restaurant with great food. Try the speck noodle soup and the schnitzel with their red wine. And the waitresses are exceptional. We went there twice during our 5 days.

Wir waren über Silvester in Garmisch. 2x zum Abendessen in der Schranne. Trotzdem der Gasthof sehr voll war,gingen Essen und Getränke besteelungen sehr flott. DasPersonal ist mehr als freundlich,machr Späße mit!! Und nun zum Essen : Schmeckt hervorragend und Preis Leistung sind TOP. Da komm ich/wir sicher wieder mal hin !!!

old brewery, great and rustic ambience, very lovingly renovated. We complained about the Kaiserschmarrn during service on site and praised the main course. We had the impression it was just warmed up and way too firm/chewy. The employees in the kitchen can improve this.

Kaiserschmarren is hardly sweet, more like classic egg tart Schmarren. The topping: melon and pear? Oh well Cheese soup was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was friendly and in a good mood.

Very grateful to have eaten here on Christmas. Food is just ok and service is slow but we were happy to be welcomed in on a holiday. Mountain cheese soup was the best thing I had.

Great atmosphere: Large and lively restaurant with plenty of seating and a large selection of delicious beer. The only downside was that we walked into an empty room, placed our order and, after the room was full, everyone else received their orders - except us. However, other than that, the food was very tasty and the portions are quite large. Dogs are allowed, which is also a plus.

Everything has changed for the better! Great rustic and traditional Bavarian restaurant in a Bavarian brewery style. Good cuisine, excellent service, everyone was very friendly. The prices are not cheap but not overpriced either. Anyone in Garmisch should definitely take a look

Very nice Bavarian atmosphere. At Christmas time there is a beautifully decorated, large Christmas tree in the guest room. You will be accompanied to your seat and there is also a high chair and the opportunity for children to play. The employees are very friendly and open. The food selection is good and there is even a vegan dish. I personally had the onion roast. The food was very good and freshly prepared. When visiting Garmisch-Patenkirchen, if you are interested in Bavarian cuisine, you should stop here.

Despite the busy booth, we were given a “reserve” spot. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The ambience is super nice. The food was also tasteful. We will come back on our next planned vacation.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and absolutely loved it! Despite the well-filled restaurant, everything ran extremely professionally. We were warmly welcomed and the long waiting time was bridged with a free first drink - a really nice gesture. The food was delicious, the service was exceptionally fast, friendly and professional. It felt like you were truly welcomed and valued as a guest. All in all, an absolute recommendation! We would love to come back. Thank you for the warmth and the great service!

Very timely and traditional Bavarian restaurant. Varied menu. Food tasty and sufficient portions. Good selection of drinks too. Staff quick and service oriented. With a reservation, our group of 15 people accommodated well in a second, smaller guest room. You could have a good time there. Restaurant is within walking distance of the city center. Parking garages not far from the restaurant. Bringing our two dogs was no problem.

The food was to die for. The onion roast roast is buttery soft. The only negative point was that my companion received his food much later, which is why eating together was only partially possible.

Everything was almost perfect, except the Wienerschnitzel and the Venison goulash. Schade.

Schöne Location und trotz der Größe gemütlich. Kleine kostenfreie Karte für Kinder unter 6 Jahren und separate Kindergerichte. Personal freundlich und auch sehr zuvorkommend zu einem Kleinkind.

The stop is worth it: freshly tapped Augustiner, down-to-earth, delicious food. Unfortunately, points were deducted for the bacon fried potatoes because they were warmed up for too long. Special recommendation, however, is the crispy 1/4 duck - excellent! Very friendly and attentive service. The guest room: Lovingly decorated for Christmas. with a magnificent Christmas tree. We felt very comfortable here and would love to come back!

Went there based on recommendation and good reviews. Very nice service, nice restaurant and decoration, but...... The roast venison was indefinable apart from the color and consistency - that is, it tasted like nothing - unfortunately. Dumplings and Brussels sprouts very firm. Sauce-lack....really a shame for the food.....and the price. Looking forward to it for free.

Had an excellent dinner at Gasthaus zur Schranne this evening. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was outstanding. Very nice staff and also very friendly and engaging local patrons. The menu was quite extensive, leaving opportunity for plenty of return trips. The food I did have was delicious. I would definitely recommend for anyone in the area looking for a nice spot to finish out a day in Garmisch. Note: recommend making a reservation, which was very easy to do from their website or open table. “PROST”

We ate classic game dishes and were only disappointed! Without cranberries or similar. served, it was not possible to reorder the sauce because it was pre-portioned. The food is served quickly, indicating warmed dishes and the amount of people to handle.

The pike perch fillet was excellent! Tender, juicy and perfectly prepared. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Very nice staff, reserved but also attentive. The food is simply brilliant. Pumpkin cream soup is great Venison goulash topped with a Bavarian cream at the end - simply a poem. It was just beautiful for me.

Food: we had the half duck and cheese spaetzle as well as Obazda with bread. Everything was excellent and cooked to perfection. Service: typically Bavarian, a super nice waitress who basically knew what we wanted. Very accommodating and great company. Ambiance: a listed building, very nicely and rustically furnished on the inside. Already decorated for Christmas. Clear 5 stars for us, we would be happy to come back at any time.

The ambience of the restaurant is appealing, but unfortunately the food was not convincing. Both my dish and that of our table neighbors were served cold. The hot chocolate had a slightly burnt taste, which spoiled the enjoyment. In addition, the portions were disappointingly small. What should be highlighted positively, however, is that the service was very friendly and professional. Overall, the place is nice, but the dining experience left a lot to be desired.

We were guests here yesterday. We made a short-term reservation for 2 people through Homeoage and didn't regret it. Nice Bavarian ambience (there was live music on Friday) and nice waiters who were attentive. For dinner we chose a dish on the special menu + regular food. Roast venison + onion roast. The food was good and fresh. Both pieces of meat were prepared as requested. Portion was very good and prices were reasonable. Will come back if we are here again. THANKS:)

We came without a reservation and got 2 seats straight away. Very friendly and competent service. Old Bavarian economy with a nice atmosphere, great service and the finest food! In the pictures: cheese soup, small side salad and 1/2 farmer's duck. Super good! I can only recommend it! Top inn.

Of all the restaurants we went to in Garmisch, we liked the Gasthaus zur Schranne the best! Very friendly staff! Great food and a menu where everyone is sure to find something 😇 Rustic, beautifully located and with a great ambience. We will definitely come back the next time we visit Garmisch!

Why so many pictures of us? Because we fell in love with this place on the first day of our vacation. And when asked “Where are we going to eat tonight?” the Schranne was always chosen :-) Even without a reservation, a place is always found for you. Great service, delicious food, typical Bavarian atmosphere. Some evenings there is even live music. We are already looking forward to our next visit when we are in Garmisch again.

Yes, there are still these rustic old Bavarian inns with tradition and the Schranne in Garmisch is one of them with typical regional specialties and of course Augustiner beer. We didn't have a reservation and were greeted in a very friendly manner, the smart ladies and gentlemen in service are very attentive and friendly. We had roast pork with crust, the sauce was very delicious, and Schlutzkrapfen, which were also very, very tasty, and the portion size was very good. We were amused by the Rhinelanders at the next table who had also ordered roast pork and a small beer. There are things...!

Star deduction because we had reserved for 2 and unfortunately this was forgotten. Then we had to sit at a table with other people in the middle of the large hall. It wasn't that great but we were hungry so we stayed. The food was great as was the service at the table. Food and drinks came super quickly and were great.

The best German restaurant! Had to come here a second time on my short trip. Service, ambience and quality was fantastic!

We were there in transit. We were seated in the large dining area. There was live music, but it was extremely loud. We had 2x schnitzel, 1x with fries, 1x with fried potatoes. They were veal schnitzels at a high price. However, it wasn't a highlight. A bit bland without decorations and cranberries. On request, ketchup was also available free of charge. Drinks and service impeccable. The waitresses were very nice and on point.

We had lunch with 5 people. Never again! The best thing was at least the staff. Everyone ordered schnitzel for dinner. The schnitzels were comparable to shoe soles - and the fried potatoes were partly burnt, or raw. The best thing was the cranberries - but they are yes from a glass.
