The food was great, but it arrived within 5 minutes. It was a quick visit.

Good beer & roast, very nice service

Ate here during our first night in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and loved it! Everyone was very nice and welcoming despite our limited German, and the food was very delicious. Very great choice for authentic Bavarian.

We ate here three times in 8 days, that says it all. Gladly again😊

We regularly stop at Schranne when we're passing through and have always been very satisfied - friendly service, always a seat available, cozy atmosphere and delicious food. This time we were unfortunately a bit disappointed: the meat pan was quite greasy and consisted almost exclusively of sauerkraut, the spinach dumplings were also dry and didn't have enough butter, and the schnitzel was a bit tough and the rösti were unfortunately also a bit too fatty. It's a shame, because we were looking forward to the food as always.

Gemütliches Restaurant mit schönem Innenbereich und nettem Außenbereich. Auf der Karte finden sich eine gute Auswahl an Standardgerichten und eine saisonale Wochenkarte. Von dieser haben wir Spargelgerichte gewählt, beide waren ausgezeichnet. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend, wir werden bei unserem nächsten Garmisch-Besuch bestimmt wieder vorbeischauen.

Delicious! The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very nice with a short live music interlude at the end ☺️ We had the liver dumpling and wedding soup as a starter, both very tasty, and the main course was the schnitzel, which was also very filling. The dessert was also very tasty! Absolutely recommended and will come back when we are in Garmisch 🥰

Bavarian cosiness as you imagine it. Great guesthouse in the middle of Garmisch. Nice service, hearty menu and at decent prices. Gladly again next time.

We had booked a table for 7 p.m. and had it confirmed. When we arrived we were informed that our table was available for 1 hour and 15. We rejected that and left again. When you want to eat dinner, I don't want to look at the clock. Maybe the innkeeper should get a drive-thru, or perhaps the guest should leave the innkeeper's money directly on the stairs so he doesn't have to bend down. We are extremely disappointed because we were looking forward to this evening.

Unfortunately I can't rate the food here, only the service. Yesterday evening we tried to get a table for 4 people without a reservation. We asked politely whether there was anything available even without a reservation, then the restaurant checked to see if there was anything available for us, and we heard another colleague comment: "They have a small child with them." Then the lady came back and told us that there were no tables left. As we were about to leave the restaurant, the next visitors were asked if they had a reservation, they answered the question with "no", there were also 4 people... Finally they were asked into the restaurant and we stood at the exit quite frustrated! More discrimination is not possible... What a shame, we would have liked to have tried the food and rated it!

We booked a table for an early dinner on Easter Sunday. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table, and the wonderful server Naomi, took great care of us throughout the meal. We each had a delicious dish, I took advantage of spargel season and had absolutely the best Hollandaise sance, light, fluffy, lemony, absolutely wonderful. My partner had his favorite Zwiebel Rostbraten, very tender and flavorful. Good wine list, and of course, Bavarian beer. A very satisfying meal.

For the 3rd time here and as always, good food, friendly service and the local people from the Kartln. Oh good 👍👍🙌🙌

My boyfriend and I are very enthusiastic about the food and the friendly staff! I had the onion roast and can definitely recommend it. A dream 😊 We'll be back!

Quaint restaurant with great service

Everything was just great. Food was tasty, big menu, there are special options like farm goose that need to be ordered in advance and also seasonal menu. Selection of local beers that are fresh and tasty. Food was delivered fast, friendly service, big tables, enough space. Nice authentic design.

Highly recommended. My daughter cannot tolerate gluten. There is an extra card. Not much choice though. Super friendly.

The Gasthaus zur Schranne has a very rustic interior and serves Bavarian specialties and seasonal dishes. The dishes eaten were all very tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the Kaiserschmarren. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.

We have already made reservations in the Schranne twice for our vacation from home (based on the good reviews). It was worth it. The food is a poem. Everything we ordered was a positive surprise. We were incredibly happy every evening. Rarely do you find such good taste combined with a relaxed atmosphere without chichi. We would be available for a branch in Berlin. 🙃

Unfortunately it wasn't even that good - the main course was forgotten, service was unfortunately difficult to get to the table and the schnitzel breading was so soggy that unfortunately even the frozen product from the microwave is better. It's a shame, we were hoping for something better for Easter Sunday.

You can easily reserve online in advance. The guest room impresses with its size and has great pictures and paintings, making it really charming. The conditions are attentive and absolutely on point. We decided on an asparagus cream soup and then cheese spaetzle and pike perch with risotto. Sufficiently large portions and the taste was absolutely good. The beer also tastes great. A visit is definitely recommended.

We stayed at the inn based on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Super nice service, delicious food and the typical Bavarian ambience. Simply fantastic. If we go on vacation to Garmisch or the surrounding area again, we will definitely come back.

Food tasted great. First of all, mixed salad, which was served in a mason jar; Extra dressing (so the salad wasn't soaked in the dressing and you could dose it yourself) and a cream of asparagus soup; also very tasty. Main course “Garmischer Bauernschmaus@” and “Pumpkin Bagel”. The taste was very good - but unfortunately not enough to fill you up...despite the starters. For dessert there was the Kaiserschmarrn and the apple strudel...both ok. The ambience is more reminiscent of a large company canteen than of a rustic Bavarian restaurant.

Very good inn with a very good menu. As a large group, we ordered a variety of dishes and can recommend everything.

Hier durften wir heute spontan richtig gutes Essen zu fairen Preisen genießen. Der Service war toll und das Essen liebevoll und sehr gut zubereitet. Und ich glaube wir hatten noch nie einen besseren Kaiserschmarren!! Ohne diesen hier probiert zu haben sollte man das Restaurant nicht verlassen.

I don’t know whether It was just an off day, but the food was not good. Many dishes tasted like it was missing ingredients, or maybe they just make it like that, due to all the tourism and food demand. As a Bavarian, I expected more. The service was nice .

We had dinner here two days and will come back, as service and meals were excellent. The pre-ordered „Lachsforelle“ was outstanding.

We had such a delicious meal there. The staff is also very friendly and the atmosphere is typically Bavarian. We were thrilled.

There were two of us at dinner and we ordered two soups as a starter and two main courses. We asked for a separate plate, which was charged at €2.50. Unfortunately, this type of money-grabbing is becoming more and more widespread

Unfortunately, my dish was a very subpar finished meal. The waitress then offered me a free dessert as an apology. I would have expected much better quality from my bakery. For this reason I probably won't come back.

I was dazzled by an overall rating of 4.7. Unfortunately everything is just average. Käsespätzle were dry and €18 was a proud price. Service is rather hectic, you don't really feel comfortable there.

The food was ready-made. At least I didn't get sick, so it gets one star. Very expensive for almost the lowest quality.

Very nice rustic restaurant with tasty Bavarian dishes.

In Garmisch, this restaurant is our children's favorite restaurant. Very child-friendly (including free food up to 6). If the children are louder, it will be lost in the spacious rooms.

So I totally loved this place. I think the servers name was Anna and she was very nice and helpful. I went to dinner with my father in law and he also loved it. It was quite when we got there but my understanding is about 7pm it gets retry wild. I really enjoyed the golosh and the farmers treat! Plus it’s a German beer hall so the beer was fantastic

I don't recommend it. We were 3 people and no one liked it. The roast is hard and tasteless. The zander tasted like I was eating paper, and the risotto was swimming in fat. All dishes were slightly seasoned. The prices are quite high for such quality.

On our way back from our holiday in Austria we stopped at GAP and visited this restaurant. The nice decor and promise of regional cuisine enticed us. Unfortunately the appearance does not match the taste of the dishes. The food was bland, the meat tough, the risotto overcooked and the whole thing bathed in a large amount of fat. The fat still belched in our belches for a long time after the meal. During the meal no one came up to us to ask how the dishes tasted. I do not recommend.

Bedienung sehr freundlich, Essen durchnittlich. Wir wurden leider nachdrücklich und unfreundlich aufgefordert das Lokal zu verlassen da andere Gäste kommen würden. Wir waren 5 Personen inklusive unserem Enkel im Rollstuhl. Bei Beschwerde wäre es beinahe mit dem Restaurantleiter gekommen. Wir haben einen sehr guten Umsatz gemacht. Sowas macht man nicht mit Kunden

We were there for lunch on a Sunday. Super friendly welcome and got the perfect place with a stroller and dog. Good selection of vegetarian dishes and everything was served very quickly. The service girls did a perfect job. Only recommended.

Waren anlässlich meines Geburtstags mit der Familie (10 Personen) beim Essen. Wurden in einem ruhigen Nebenzimmer platziert und mussten trotz der gleichzeitigen Faschingsveranstaltung nicht lange auf unser Essen warten. Qualität des Essen durchwegs gut. Freundliche und nette Bedienung.

My favorite pub. Super nice service, delicious food and delicious Augustiner. Garmisch without a visit to the Schranne? It doesn't work at all. 5 stars plus from me for the Schranne.

A very nice traditional Bavarian style restaurant with exquisite food, english speaking and friendly staff, cozy ambient, and ubique decoration.

Food was great (pork medallions & veal schnitzel) and the service was impeccable. The acoustics are a bit difficult when there is a full crowd. Still full recommendation.

GREAT food with Bavarian flair.

A time-honored, typically Bavarian inn that we visited twice because we simply love the atmosphere. The young waitresses are quick, hard-working and make the guests enjoy their jobs. The food was very tasty and served quickly. We made reservations in advance and can highly recommend the inn, which is why we would like to come back.

We came here by accident and walked in without a reservation. They very kindly assigned us to a table where there was a reservation in an hour and a half (we promised that we would leave in good time). The pleasant surprises continued with the excellently cooked dishes. I recommend the calf's tail!! It was perfectly cooked. As well as schnitzel, burger and steak!! The white beer (my favorite) did not disappoint me this time either. We will definitely be back!!

The food was amazing, a good selection of Bavarian food and delicious desserts. The food prices are fair, with good options under 20€. I went for the Veal Schnitzel, totally worth it. Also there is a wide selection of delicious digestifs :D

Excellent and attentive service. The Zwiebelrostbratten was absolutely delicious and literally melted in the mouth it was so tender, the Schweinbraten was also delicious. Served Augustinerbrau beer which may be in my top 5 beers I have ever drank! Good value, good atmosphere. Had English menus.

Man wird super herzlich empfangen, wie man es sich in einem typisch Bayerischen Gasthof vorstellt. Das Essen war super lecker, wir hatten die Ente und den Zwiebelrostbraten, beide Essen sind sehr zu empfehlen. Außerdem war der Service ausgezeichnet.

What a great evening!!! Thank you for the “rescue” after the debacle at Wildschütz!!! Great food, fine beer and a thoughtful waitress like you rarely see!!! The house music rounded off the evening. It was a great pleasure for us to have been your guests. Recommendation: the Beuscherl belongs in the classics department... so so good. Praise to the kitchen, you know how to make people happy with flavors!!!

Pasta for goulash... sauce watered down by pasta water! Should have had a schnitzel or dumplings as a side dish! Service was very nice and made things right with an espresso!

Good beer nice shop! Unfortunately the burger is a bit expensive! For just twice the meat, 7 euros more, I would only try it once! But it still tasted good! The waitresses were nice and friendly! Please change the bread from the sausage salad. That was so dry.

Jan 2025 Another great trip skiing and eating at Schranne. Aug 2024. Still the friendliest place to be. Great food & helles. Well done Team. Feb 2024. Back again for fasching. The Augustiner Brau is still at its finest. It is essential to check the quality regularly. Back again in February 2023 for fasching. Frau Hike looked after us very well again with fassbier. Yes, this is helles heaven. The food is also of high quality. The locals also made us feel very welcomed, especially Sebb. This is now my go-to place in GAP. I am in bier heaven! Fresh from the barrel. Zum wohl!
