We love this place. We have come a few times now. Food is typical German fare, fresh food , good salads, pork dishes . Knoedel. Reasonable prices. We all had the pork knuckle and the apfel strudel which was wonderful. Only complaint was the vanilla ice cream was not great quality. They are accommodating if you want to substitute things as well. Service is a bit fast , but they didn’t rush is out. There was music the evening we were there and a large group enjoying festive dancing. Made our evening complete.

Unfortunately, our visit to this Bavarian-German restaurant was a bitter disappointment. The food had no taste at all - neither the meat nor the vegetarian dishes were seasoned. Both were also dry. For a price of around €20 you only get a small, tasteless sample. Both the quality and quantity of the food are well below what you would expect for this price. Even the fries would have been better and cheaper at McDonald's. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Aug 2024. Still the friendliest place to be. Great food & helles. Well done Team. Feb 2024. Back again for fasching. The Augustiner Brau is still at its finest. It is essential to check the quality regularly. Back again in February 2023 for fasching. Frau Hike looked after us very well again with fassbier. Yes, this is helles heaven. The food is also of high quality. The locals also made us feel very welcomed, especially Sebb. This is now my go-to place in GAP. I am in bier heaven! Fresh from the barrel. Zum wohl!

It was a completely successful evening. What should be highlighted here is the service.

You come into the great quaint and yet rustic restaurant and you can already smell the smell of wood, red cabbage and dumplings in your nose. And you immediately know that I'm in the right place. The staff was just super nice and friendly and our dog was also very welcome. The food was simply delicious. The red cabbage like mom's. Simply a dream. We'll be back!

Service and drinks were good. Unfortunately not the food. Everything was just warmed up and not freshly cooked. Rösti made with rancid oil. Far too expensive for that.

Positiv: - Bedienung ein junges Mädchen war sehr nett und höflich -Sauberkeit, Atmosphäre (wir saßen oben) war gelungen (Kerze wurde auch angemacht) Negativ - der Grund des Besuches das Essen. Wir hatten einen Schweinebraten. Kruste war vorhanden, das Fleisch in Ordnung. Die Soße war enttäuschend leider aus der Packung… Knödel war in Ordnung wobei es zwei wirklich kleine Knödel sind Was aber für knapp 28€ eine Frechheit war, war das Kalbsschnitzel. Ich bereue es kein Foto gemacht zu haben das hätte alles erklärt. Statt eines hauchdünnen Schnitzels bei dem sich die Panade durch das ausbacken wellt bekamen wir ein Stück Schnitzel wie aus der Schnitzelsemmel am Bahnhof. Es macht den Eindruck als wäre es schon Mittags in die Pfanne geworfen worden und kurz vor dem servieren nochmal zum warmmachen in der Pfanne gelandet ist (so dunkel war es auch) Sehr schade!! Bin nicht das erst mal da gewesen aber nun leider zum letzten mal

An old Bavarian inn, which is somewhat reminiscent of a Cologne brewery. Delicious Augustiner and a wide selection of Bavarian specialties, the quality is okay, but not outstanding. We felt comfortable and would come back. The roast pork is definitely a recommendation.

We took a Schnitzel and Backhendl, both were super tasty. The servers are very nice and thoughtful (we were sitting outside during the storm, and they helped people to not get wet). Desert (hot chocolate cake) was medium quality, but the main dish makes up for that personally.

Despite the low occupancy, we waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. When we pointed out an error during payment, we were treated rudely and unprofessionally. Other than that, unfortunately the food wasn't worth the money.

Delicious and mischievous food. Great, tapped and fresh Augustiner beer. Very good schnapps. It's worth trying the whole range. Our service was quick and very attentive. She didn't let us die of thirst. The atmosphere is cozy. We were satisfied and will come back when the opportunity arises.

Cozy Restaurant in the center of town. Traditional Bavarian food and very welcoming service. The Inn is several Hundred years old and has outside seating wheather permitting.

Top restaurant in Garmisch. Typical German restaurant with friendly people, great beer and fine Bavarian cuisine, all for good prices. After our meal we immediately made a reservation here for the next day, we liked it that much. Look no further for a decent tent in this beautiful town.

We have been coming to Schranne again and again for several years. This year we were disappointed: the prices went up quite a bit and the food was just average, the meat was relatively dry and the sauces were bland. A pity. At least the Augustiner beer is good.

Very good food. As well as a large portion. Service very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back here on our next visit to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

I ordered beef steak, it tasted okay, we ordered delicious and large salmon, and fried chicken, it was okay to eat. I give it 8/10. The cooking method is very traditional. Anyone who likes traditional German food will like it.

I think it's a really nice beer garden, but when I look at the portions at the next table. To be honest, I was disappointed with the cheese dumplings. They tasted great but were much too small

Great typical Bavarian pub, excellent food, beer and amazing service 👍 We arrived at 19:30, a group of 7 people, the waiter seated us with a smile at a large table (there was a reservation sign), although we did not have a reservation 👍. The waitress was pleasant, she even knew a few Czech words, this is always a pleasure... The food is great, we haven't been there for the last time. I like to leave money in such a company, I enjoy this !!! I like Bavarians 😊

In particular, the knuckle, which you have to order in advance, was very tasty! The onion roast was also great in terms of taste, although a bit low for the price of just under €30 with spaetzle.

It was sooooo delicious and the service girls are super nice and make you laugh sometimes. The chefs are little gods and if I could I would move into the kitchen. Insanely delicious.

Classic Bavarian. A very good find and would recommend it to people who want to have classic Bavarian dishes. They also serve excellent beers.

Sorry, diesmal war das nix mit der halben Ente: Das Fleisch zwar zart, die Haut jedoch komplett labberig, kein Quadratzentimeter war hier knusprig, vermutlich stand die schon etwas länger in der Küche rum. Das Blaukraut war eher ein Blau/Rot/Braunkraut und hat so geschmeckt wie 10 mal aufgewärmt. Die Knödel ebenfalls nicht frisch, aber halbwegs genießbar.. zumindest besser als das scheußliche Blaukraut. Das Essen war nicht vergleichbar mit früheren Besuchen, sondern sah aus wie lieblos hingepfefferte Küchenreste (und so war es vermutlich auch).

Classic traditional Bavarian tavern with a beer garden. We were here specifically because of the Kaiserschmarn. Very tasty and highly recommended. The other dishes also looked very tasty. The service was exceptionally good. We felt very comfortable.

The ambience is like a typical Bavarian brewery with delicious beer. Unfortunately the service is very disrespectful. When I asked about my food, I was fobbed off with “You're unlucky, boy,” as a 35-year-old, even though I asked really nicely. Unfortunately, the quality of the veal schnitzel was only mediocre and very poorly prepared for a price of over 27 euros. You can go here to drink beer, but unfortunately it's not enough for more.

Nice, rustic atmosphere, food typical of the country, very tasty and good portion sizes. Staff very friendly and extremely attentive. A high chair for the granddaughter was brought without asking. The free toddler meals were also pointed out. For us, a restaurant that makes us feel comfortable. We'd love to come back.

Good Morning, I just have to say a lot of praise for the “Zur Schranne” inn in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. What a feast! My onion roast with cheese spaetzle was simply top - I haven't had such a tender piece of meat in a long time and the spaetzle was really great. My girlfriend treated herself to the oven-fresh roast pork and it was probably not from bad parents either. And the best thing: Despite it being 32 degrees outside, the hearty food was really good for us. Big portions, super tasty and the service was very friendly and always quickly recognized my thirst for beer. When you're down here, don't miss it. Clear thing: 5 stars from me!

Stopped by there spontaneously and got a spot. Food was very tasty (onion roast and roast pork). Operation and service was very nice and friendly.

There were four of us there. The service was quick and good. The onion roast was excellent! Unfortunately the bread on the burger was very dry.

First time in Garmisch - Partenkirchen and not having any recommendations about where to eat we decided on having our lunch here. It had a nice vibe. There weren’t many people there (cool weather) and the garden area was a bit too cold for us so we settled comfortably inside. The waitresses were great. Friendly, attentive and very helpful. The food was excellent. We were very happy that we were lucky enough to have chosen to eat here as there are very many restaurants here. Highly recommended and we will revisit next time we are in town.

Incredible taste and service. Super friendly and quick staff. We didn’t even wait 15 min to get drinks and food. Hint: Order “helles Augustiner” beer from a wood barrel only on weekends. It’s so good.

The service is super friendly, helpful, and accurate. The food was great - we had weiner schnitzel (pork), roast pork and gulasch as the main courses and chocolate cake and Bavarian cream as the desserts. The atmosphere and inside is very Bavarian and wonderful.

The food was delicious, I haven't eaten so well in a long time. The portions were just the right size. The waitresses are friendly and you didn't have to wait long for your food even though it was packed. I would like to give more stars, but unfortunately that's not possible.

Beautiful historic inn in the center of Garmisch. Large selection of food and drinks. Very friendly service. We left this inn very satisfied and will definitely come back again during our vacation and it will be the same in 2024. The Schranne is simply great.
