We celebrated our son's confirmation at the Gasthaus zur Post – and it was a complete success. The pre-arranged menu was not only excellently prepared, but the appetizers were even spontaneously adjusted on the day of the celebration – so everyone could try everything. The food was consistently delicious, top-quality, and lovingly prepared. The service? Absolutely attentive, friendly, and professional – yet always warm and welcoming. You immediately feel at home at the Gasthaus zur Post. The entire team exudes genuine hospitality – exactly what you want for a family celebration. We stopped there for a drink during our bike tour. Unfortunately, it had rained shortly before, so we couldn't sit outside. But the conservatory is also very nice. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We'd be happy to come back.

I was in Cranz for the first time in decades and stopped in for dinner. Luckily, we had a reservation, as the place was very busy. Despite that, none of the service staff seemed rushed or stressed. Simply wonderful. We had a table overlooking the Este River 👍 The food was really excellent; we had an aperitif, plaice, and dessert.

We live in one right now wonderful holiday apartment in the house and asked about the corn plaice today after returning from downtown Hamburg. This was one of the best fish dishes we have ever eaten! Friendly, competent and at the same time unobtrusive service. It couldn't be better! Absolutely within the price range.

Yesterday we were very spontaneous in this great inn. The family that runs this inn gave us a really nice welcome with “It’s nice that you’re here!” The plaice and the potato salad are a poem! Everything homemade, nice terrace by the water and the staff is very attentive. Big recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

Quarter to 11 and all the tables in the garden are free, but apparently there is no room, not even for a quick coffee. Customers don't seem to need it, it's better to walk a kilometer to Hintze for coffee

I came across the restaurant via Instagram. We spent a wonderful afternoon there. The service was exceptional and very friendly and accommodating from the start. You immediately feel welcome. The corn plaice was unbeatably delicious and personal conversations, house-made drinks and not forgetting the rhubarb crumble were incredibly good. A 100% recommendation. We'll be back.

Unfortunately I have to give one star so that I can write a review. We took a nice bike ride into the old country and set this restaurant as a reward destination. Tables were free and I waited to be seated. Then a gentleman from 10 meters away shouted that we couldn't sit as they wouldn't come after us without asking if we wanted to drink or eat. We weren't wearing cycling gear or anything like that and we looked clean and tidy. That couldn't have been the reason. We will definitely never come here again and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thanks for nothing.

A family-run inn. The service was excellent and the staff took their time with the guests and sometimes gave a personal note. The plaice I ate was the best I had ever eaten. Guests come regularly just to eat the plaice. The host also had time to chat with us after dinner. We'll be back.

A very nice restaurant with typical cuisine and fantastic fish dishes. Finally not dead fried fish, less is more. The fried potatoes were great, even though we have a fried potato trauma. Grandma's cucumber salad is not rocket science but delicious.❤️ The reception was great, the ambience, the service was great and the waiters were very good salespeople. Sometimes annoying and intrusive. You have to be careful, say no thank you three times, otherwise you'll be told something you don't want. The asparagus soup tasted great as a starter. A small cup for 9.90 euros is already hefty. Because there were hardly any pieces of asparagus in the soup. We were approached with extra eel as an insert for an additional charge of 3.50 euros. Unfortunately I had to search hard for the eel in the soup. Only a small piece of eel was found. A small tablespoon full. Two three thin slices of asparagus. Otherwise a good restaurant.

I was there today with my partner. We each ordered a bratwurst. We both expected a regular bratwurst, but it was definitely not what you'd expect. Incredibly delicious. We were totally surprised when we were served this very good-looking plate. It came with fried potatoes, which also tasted excellent. Highly recommended! We'll be back and will be sure to dig in!

Cute old building in HH Cranz with a terrace at the back on the Este. We were there for a delicious meal. Fresh and crispy, plus a friendly and very nice team. That only rarely happens anymore. We are looking forward to the warmer days and the garden.

We were greeted at the entrance by the friendly senior manager, who could tell we were hungry. The stint was excellent including the side dishes. We were served very friendly and attentively. This wasn't our last visit to this beautiful place in the "last corner of Hamburg"!

An inn that you could only wish for. Very friendly owner family, very friendly staff. Attentive. Leaves nothing to be desired. Very cozy and great location. And the food is exceptionally good too. I eat smelt annually. I've already been to Wendland, Jork or Winsen. That was good too. Nevertheless: Here in Cranz it is even better. Class, instead of quantity. For example, instead of serving a bunch of smelt like the competitors, you are served small portions. Time-consuming, but it's always crispy. Thank you very much! Oh yes: they are also child-friendly, which is not a given.

Such a cozy inn. We were thrilled. Like every year, we wanted to eat a stint here and had reserved a comfortable seating area for 4 people. We received a very warm welcome here, everyone was happy, in a good mood and the staff were very committed, quick and attentive. Food, we all had fish, excellent, very appetizing to the eye. It was full, which made it a little louder, but when everyone is so happy, it's easy to deal with it. We look forward to next time.

Unfortunately our visit did not live up to our expectations. The stint was fresh, but unfortunately quite greasy. What was particularly disappointing was that the portions were counted precisely - 5 stints per round - and the first two portions were served cold or only lukewarm. Only the last portion was somewhat okay. The side dish, the fried potatoes, was also weighed, which seems quite petty given the price of 30.00 euros (without drinks). Although we were able to order more stints twice, unfortunately my father and I didn't get enough. Overall it wasn't bad, but nothing special either. We expected more for the price and unfortunately we won't be coming back. It's a shame because we were looking forward to a nice meal.

The preparation was still according to old traditions. There are also things that you shouldn't necessarily change. And Scholle Finkenwerder Art or Stint there is nothing you can do about it. Both dishes were very good and tasty. And rich too. During the stint there were 3x 5 pieces and also fried potatoes or another potato variant. And a cucumber salad like I remember from my childhood in the 1970s. 👌 My wife had a second plaice. And also together with a potato variant and cucumber salad. We will definitely come back.

It's like "coming home". In November 2024 I was on a business trip in Hamburg for 10 days and was very lucky to have found a wonderful hostel with the best care from the Kramer family. As soon as I entered the restaurant for the first time, I had the feeling that I was in very good hands. I haven't experienced such a warm, friendly and, above all, authentic welcome in a long time. Living family tradition paired with a lot of passion can be felt in every corner. The food is simply delicious - the best duck and fish I have ever tasted. The apartment "Grandma's Stube" was very comfortably furnished - nothing was missing and the idea that grandma once lived here was a very nice one.
