A very quaint restaurant with friendly service. We visited as a family and can definitely recommend it. In addition to the cozy vaulted cellar, there's also the option of outdoor seating. The kitchen specializes in regional German cuisine, but the menu is also appealing for those who don't like fish. We're very sorry that we didn't discover this restaurant until our last day, but if we're ever in Hamburg again, "Das Dorf" will definitely be on our "must-visit" list.

We went there on Monday without a reservation. We received a very friendly welcome. The really short wait for two free seats was bridged with a very good recommendation for an aperitif. The entire team "lives" gastronomy 👍 Our food was served quite quickly and tasted excellent. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Hamburg.

We weren’t able to visit this place because the waiter refused to seat us due to our not very good knowledge of English and German (spoken English was present, we also had a mobile translator with us (like it would be difficult for him to understand us)! This is the first time in my life that I’ve seen this, although I’ve traveled almost the whole world. Shame on the restaurant for having such wait staff!!!! There was no question of what you were writing in response, the waiter offered us a free table, and then refused due to lack of knowledge of the language. And we didn’t try to occupy any table, we stood and waited until the waiter decided where to seat us (we wanted to sit on the street) Why are you lying?

Das Dorf is a classic Hamburg restaurant featuring excellent German food. The restaurant is in the basement of the building and a bit tricky to spot at first glance. Once in side, you will enjoy the beautiful and cozy interior. The staff is very friendly and alert and you quickly get to order after sitting down. The menu is very good and features daily specials. We had the good fortune to visit during spargel season and our food was excellent. Das Dorf is a very well-known restaurant so you are best advised to make a reservation. One of the best German restaurants in Hamburg for sure.

We ate panfish and schnitzel with fried potatoes and leaf spinach or cucumber salad in a cozy atmosphere with friendly service. For me the leaf spinach was the taste highlight.

The ambience, service and food were excellent. Many thanks to the staff and especially to the chef. You really have to try the “Dorf Sprizzzz” aperitif, just like it says on the menu. Gladly again!

The schnitzel was good, but not among the best I've ever eaten. The breading was too greasy and not airy/souffléed. The cucumber salad lacked some seasoning. The service was very nice, but seemed a bit unskilled or unprofessional. We were served a warm bottle of water and after not ordering wine, the wine glasses were left uncovered. In addition, the menus were not taken away after we ordered and we were given different cutlery. I hope that the feedback helps to improve the service even further. Overall, we really liked it and would come back.

Reached the location and started searching for the entry as it wasnt visable. Apparently the placebisnin the lower level of the street meaning you go down from a small stairway and then enter. Atmosphere is very romantic, Lantil soup, interesting and surprising seasoning . Waited to get sweet tastes and received spicy yet miled. Red Bass, 3 pieces on potatoes and steamed spinach with white gravy surrounding it. Very delicate and very nice representation. Portion size was sufficient. Value for money, over priced. Viel schnitzel , tender meat well prepared. Small bowl of potato salad and one cucumber salad. Portion size sufficient. We came to the restaurant for a meal this week for dinner after looking for local German food. The staff were great and welcoming, the food was of a high standard, the schnitzel was made properly and in fact everything was delicious. I will definitely be back

A wonderful evening. Since there were six of us there and we shared some dishes, we were able to try many dishes from the magnificent menu. The atmosphere was perfect, the food was perfect, and the service staff were very friendly and attentive. Not only were the main courses impressive, but the aperitif drinks, dessert, and the espresso martini also ensured that we will definitely be back.

El restaurante se presenta como uno de los restaurantes alemanes en la ciudad de Hamburgo. Situado en una bodega y un acogedor ambiente interior de madera oscura del viejo mundo. Es acogedor. Menú limitado pero hecho muy bien. El servicio fue atento y genial. La mayoría de la gente probablemente va por el schnitzel de vena. Pedí la mejilla de vaca en puré y diré, la mejilla de vaca era muy superior al schnitzel. La carne es tan tierna y no necesita cuchillo para cortar. De postre pedimos el pastel de lava de chocolate, las tortitas y kein eiskaffe. Todos los postres eran perfectos.

Lovely servers who spoke to me in German and also in English to my partner, which was really considerate. Food was amazing. Great, wine selection and the atmosphere was amazingso cosy. Would recommend the Ox cheek or the Schnitzel, both were delicious.

Not the worst tourist trap. Food is OK, but when you get 0.5L cola when you order a regular cola you know you’re being scammed. The bread and water were charged heavily without being asked, and the waiter demands a tip. Would not recommend at all. Please go somewhere else.

I have to say I'm conflicted... First of all: It was really good, the atmosphere was harmonious, despite the small, winding rooms it wasn't too loud and the service was extremely friendly, had a certain pep and knew how to deal with guests. As a welcome there was an Amisgoule with two different spreads. The truffle/garlic spread was simple but brilliant. The food was good, the salmon tartare is really recommended, even if there was a laughable bread basket for the amount of salmon. Unfortunately, the soups were less my cup of tea. The ox cheek had an absolute “grandma” jus (that should be the highest possible praise) and was really super tender. In terms of taste, I would have liked the cheek to have more oomph. It would have either been braised in a sauce or vegetable stock. I understand the purist approach, but unfortunately it doesn't fit with the law. I also had the opportunity to try the Wiener Schnitzel and was unfortunately disappointed. The thickness is debatable, and I don't like that, but the breading... Just boring. Portion size, salads and side dishes are still great. The various desserts were consistently good, nothing to complain about. How do I finish now? I don't want to say more appearance than reality, but I have the feeling that the restaurant is not yet where it wants to be in terms of cuisine... We have a high-priced location here that delivers good food, but the price/performance ratio simply doesn't correspond very well. You have to take into account that many of the dishes are prepared (otherwise it wouldn't be possible) but charging such prices just for warming them up is not appropriate. The wine cabinet in front of the toilets or the open preparation kitchen are simply a no-go. Despite all the criticism, we were very satisfied with the evening, can absolutely recommend it, the prices are just for survival and I hope they continue to improve their process.

The rooms are quaint, everything is a bit winding and very cozy, a little journey into the past ☺️ The food was delicious, we ate the pan fish with spinach, fried potatoes and mustard sauce, and for dessert we had Kaiserschmarrn, all in all a real treat! Anni took care of our well-being at the table, she was very attentive and friendly, was able to answer all of our questions about the food and made us feel very welcome! We'll definitely be back.

Nice restaurant for German cuisine. There was a great selection and we felt comfortable. The salmon tartare was super tasty and the rib eye steak was also great! The cheese spaetzle was a bit salty. Most of the waiters were very friendly. I can definitely recommend it and would come back.

Super cozy, just 5 minutes from the main station in the trendy St. Georg district. Entrance to the restaurant is a bit hidden, it goes into an old cellar vault! Rustic furnishings, dark wood. Classics of German cuisine, interpreted in a slightly modern way. Good portions, nicely presented, everything cooked to perfection, very tasty! Top service, very friendly and fast, no long waiting times! Tasty open wine, friendly people, mixed crowd - it's not for nothing that it's been a hit for decades. Definitely make a reservation in advance, it's just too good for a spontaneous visit. Unreserved recommendation!!!

This was our second visit to the village and once again the enthusiasm was great. The atmosphere is rustic, cozy and special. The background music is at a pleasant volume, making it possible to have relaxed conversations. The waitress Michelle who was responsible for our table was magical, very attentive, authentically personal and made sure that we didn't miss anything. At this point I would particularly like to highlight the service, which clearly stands out from other restaurants. We noticed that all employees support each other and the atmosphere among each other is very collegial and friendly. The other employees were always there for us. Everyone seems very committed and you can tell that they enjoy their work. The food was also fantastic. The praise for the homemade bread is more than justified. I chose the Hamburger Panfish and was thrilled. (Perfectly cooked to perfection and tastes like a poem). Thanks. We will definitely come back.

What a lovely evening at this restaurant! We were lucky to reserve one of the last tables on a Saturday evening - the place seems to be quite popular and rightly so. You are welcomed by a friendly and dimly lit and cosy atmosphere. The service is good and the waiters were very attentive. The food was delicious, we had the schnitzel and the steak with the kaiserschmarrn as desert. Everything was freshly prepared. This dinner was definitely a highlight of our trip to Hamburg!

Very nice restaurant in the basement. The food is really top and the waiter Ingmar does everything for the well-being of the guest. I also think the non-alcoholic drinks are rated 1. I can only recommend this place. It is also known for its schnitzel, which is really top is.

We are in love! Ingmar and his lovely colleague and everyone were just great! We felt so, so comfortable and would love to celebrate our anniversary in the 'village' every day. But that would be nothing for our line and the liver :-)). The food was delicious 😋 and the extensive wine list contributed to the wonderful evening. Very nice and stylish restaurant in the vaulted cellar at Langen Reihe 39. Difficult to find, only a small sign indicates it and you can easily overlook the small outside staircase to the cellar. But once you're in it, it feels like you've been transported to another world and time. The very nice service takes care of every wish, the food was super tasty and arrived very quickly, I can only warmly recommend it.

We sat near the toilet so it always smelled like Febreze. The dumplings were cold and the portions weren't particularly large. Unfortunately not enough for the price. Ultimately, you also had the impression that you should pay as quickly as possible at the end. All in all a nice location, but given the possibilities in Hamburg we probably won't be coming back.

The last time I was there was about 10 years ago. Not that much has changed, and that's a good thing. Still good home-style cooking, with a real price-performance ratio.... Wiener Schnitzel is a "must" and, as back then, with very good fires. You feel welcome as a guest

Hermosa comida y servicio atento pero no forzado. La ensalada de pepino era sabrosa y ligera. La sopa de castañas estaba caliente y muy sabrosa. Mejilla de buey... para morir. Hermoso puré cremoso, verdes crujientes y sabrosos, la mejilla de buey simplemente se desmoronó y la salsa era para morirse! El desmoronamiento de la plomada era agradable, aunque una porción relativamente pequeña dado el costo. El helado estaba delicioso. Nos hicieron sentir tan bienvenidos y nos enviaron con una toma de Hamburgo de algo u otro. Sin duda recomendable. Un sabor encantador de Hamburgo.

Today the four of us had a lovely evening in the village, a lovely location that makes you feel good. The staff is attentive and friendly, and Ingmar, who served us at the table, always took time for a little small talk and the odd joke. The food was good, I had the beef tartare - quite good - and the Wiener schnitzel. Whether it is the best in Hamburg remains to be seen, but it is definitely delicious and the taste reminds me a lot of my adopted home of Vienna, although in direct comparison it is a little lacking in size! I will also remember the really delicious salad dressing! Afterwards we tried all the desserts, which were delicious but don't necessarily have to be considered a revelation. I would be happy to come back and give 4 stars for a successful evening, which - even if the food was delicious - will be remembered as a little bit expensive in terms of price. The overall impression is definitely positive and is particularly reinforced by the friendly and competent staff! Thanks...
