We had an absolutely perfect evening there. Food very tasty, great service and ambience. Only recommended!

What a lovely evening at this restaurant! We were lucky to reserve one of the last tables on a Saturday evening - the place seems to be quite popular and rightly so. You are welcomed by a friendly and dimly lit and cosy atmosphere. The service is good and the waiters were very attentive. The food was delicious, we had the schnitzel and the steak with the kaiserschmarrn as desert. Everything was freshly prepared. This dinner was definitely a highlight of our trip to Hamburg!

Very nice restaurant in the basement. The food is really top and the waiter Ingmar does everything for the well-being of the guest. I also think the non-alcoholic drinks are rated 1. I can only recommend this place. It is also known for its schnitzel, which is really top is.

Very nice and stylish restaurant in the vaulted cellar at Langen Reihe 39. Difficult to find, only a small sign indicates it and you can easily overlook the small outside staircase to the cellar. But once you're in it, it feels like you've been transported to another world and time. The very nice service takes care of every wish, the food was super tasty and arrived very quickly, I can only warmly recommend it.

We are in love! Ingmar and his lovely colleague and everyone were just great! We felt so, so comfortable and would love to celebrate our anniversary in the 'village' every day. But that would be nothing for our line and the liver :-)). The food was delicious 😋 and the extensive wine list contributed to the wonderful evening. As soon as we are in Hamburg again, we will come back. Thank you so much for this warm, attentive, delicious and great time that you gave us!

We sat near the toilet so it always smelled like Febreze. The dumplings were cold and the portions weren't particularly large. Unfortunately not enough for the price. Ultimately, you also had the impression that you should pay as quickly as possible at the end. All in all a nice location, but given the possibilities in Hamburg we probably won't be coming back.

My new favourite restaurant in Hamburg! The food is great, staff is attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is super cozy! Loved the antique/rustic interior. Definitely recommend it if you want to try some traditional German food and local dishes.

The last time I was there was about 10 years ago. Not that much has changed, and that's a good thing. Still good home-style cooking, with a real price-performance ratio.... Wiener Schnitzel is a "must" and, as back then, with very good fires. You feel welcome as a guest

Hermosa comida y servicio atento pero no forzado. La ensalada de pepino era sabrosa y ligera. La sopa de castañas estaba caliente y muy sabrosa. Mejilla de buey... para morir. Hermoso puré cremoso, verdes crujientes y sabrosos, la mejilla de buey simplemente se desmoronó y la salsa era para morirse! El desmoronamiento de la plomada era agradable, aunque una porción relativamente pequeña dado el costo. El helado estaba delicioso. Nos hicieron sentir tan bienvenidos y nos enviaron con una toma de Hamburgo de algo u otro. Sin duda recomendable. Un sabor encantador de Hamburgo.

Today the four of us had a lovely evening in the village, a lovely location that makes you feel good. The staff is attentive and friendly, and Ingmar, who served us at the table, always took time for a little small talk and the odd joke. The food was good, I had the beef tartare - quite good - and the Wiener schnitzel. Whether it is the best in Hamburg remains to be seen, but it is definitely delicious and the taste reminds me a lot of my adopted home of Vienna, although in direct comparison it is a little lacking in size! I will also remember the really delicious salad dressing! Afterwards we tried all the desserts, which were delicious but don't necessarily have to be considered a revelation. I would be happy to come back and give 4 stars for a successful evening, which - even if the food was delicious - will be remembered as a little bit expensive in terms of price. The overall impression is definitely positive and is particularly reinforced by the friendly and competent staff! Thanks...

Delicious, rather special food in a great ambience. However, the prices are very steep. 7.80 for still water, which was put on the table in advance, is somehow unpleasant.

Perfekter Aufenthalt! Waren mit einer Gruppe im Restaurant. Super nettes Personal, welches auch gern berät. Das originale Schnitzel ist einfach überragend, doch die „Au-Backe“ (Ochsenbacke) war ein purer Genuss. Perfekt gekocht, ebenso die Beilagen. Ein absolutes Muss beim Hamburg Aufenthalt.

Very intimate place and fantastic food

Unfortunately we come here far too rarely, it's always so delicious with you! Overall, top service and a relaxed atmosphere.

We had a generally pleasant evening in the restaurant. The service was very courteous and friendly, which I would like to emphasize as a positive. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the initially promised bread with the dips placed on the table never reached our table. The ambience was also calm and cozy and appropriate to the menu. My main criticism is the price-performance ratio. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, which has a good reputation in the house and was priced accordingly. On the plate there were two small schnitzels with a size that was no larger than frozen schnitzels. The taste was good, but certainly nothing special. Combined with the manageable bowl of fried potatoes, I wasn't full after the 35 EUR dish. I also felt the need to dip the schnitzel in the juice of the - very tasty - cucumber salad, which doesn't necessarily speak for the schnitzel. In connection with the price, the performance is definitely worth it in my opinion. disappointed. Another absolute bad habit among restaurateurs is to sell the 19% VAT as a “political decision”, as if they had consciously decided to make things more difficult for restaurateurs at the turn of the year 2024. No! The VAT, which was previously temporarily reduced to ease the burden on the catering industry, has - as was ALWAYS planned - simply been set back to its normal level. I think it would be unfair to suggest otherwise in the menu on page 1. Even though it is explained there that they supposedly did not increase the prices due to inflation, I suspect that the inflation is definitely noticeable in the schnitzels. With my schnitzel yesterday, I can't imagine how the restaurant earned its reputation for schnitzels in Hamburg.

Unfortunately, we cannot share all the positive reviews. 33€ for two small schnitzels and cranberries costs an extra 2.50€… Also, two of us had stomach problems after eating!

The food doesn't justify the price for me. I find the prices very excessive. The food was average! The dessert (Kaiserschmarrn) also didn't taste fresh. I won't eat here again.

Quiero decir, es subterráneo, así que mantén un ojo agudo abierto para una señal discreta en una farola para la pista singular que has llegado. Bueno, baje unos pasos cortos y luego a través de una puerta indescriptible para entrar en este cálido y acogedor establecimiento. “Mejor schnitzel” en Hamburgo es el reclamo de su versión hamburguesa de este plato austriaco. Posiblemente sí, pero el pescado frito en una salsa de mostaza era fabuloso. Una botella de Bauer Riesling a un precio razonable ocupaba los platos de pescado. Nuestros amigos expatriados que viven en Hamburgo cenaron con nosotros. Es uno de sus lugares favoritos. Estaba lleno, así que se recomienda reservar. El anfitrión, el camarero y el factótum general se ocuparon excelentemente de nuestro 4 top. No te preocupes el personal no solo habla inglés, hay menús en inglés para los menos aventureros.

Este restaurante está situado en el sótano y muy estrecho. Casi no pudimos encontrarlo. Los platos principales y postres son muy deliciosos y el servicio es excelente. Estos vienen con el alto precio de los alimentos y propinas de al menos el 12 %. Para hacer la reserva es ponerse en contacto directamente con el restaurante de lo contrario terminaría con 2 posibles franjas horarias: 17 : 30 o 20 : 00 horas.

We had a very delicious dinner here. The staff was amazing and even let us slip by without a reservation. Everything was delicious.

Do you really want to go to a restaurant that can't handle constructive criticism and has bad reviews deleted? Actually a nice restaurant. Nice ambience. Food was good too. Unfortunately the service wasn't quite right. We weren't asked if we wanted something to drink with our meal. It wasn't until we complained twice that we were served. We also didn't get the greeting from the kitchen, even though it was served at other tables. The prices are also excessive. Price/performance ratio doesn't fit.

The restaurant in the basement can be reached via a staircase and is a bit narrow and dark inside: i.e. it is cozy once you get used to it. However, this is difficult for some guests (those with walking or visual impairments). The people in service are exceptionally nice and naturally impatient, so it's easy to forgive anything that might go wrong: we were seated at the wrong table, which wasn't enough for our reservation; The seating varies in comfort; at first I even had a worn-out wobbly chair; the drinks arrived very late; Even in front of the toilet entrance and behind it, it smelled extremely like a motorway service station - but that's probably the guests' fault because they can't aim properly (I don't want the space at the back in front of the entrance door, though)! The food is good, lovingly prepared, visually very attractive and beautifully presented, even the homemade bread as a welcome treat was a pleasure (unfortunately a little low in dip!) and special requests were all taken into account without an eyebrow comment, just as our allergy-related queries were nicely answered: Great! The prices are high and the menu is “clear” (tip: look online beforehand), but in my opinion everyone can find something (assuming they have a wallet: around €33 for a schnitzel…). I understand why others give five stars here, because we also felt very comfortable for more than three hours - thank you!

I was traveling here with my husband and friends. I am vegetarian and they had many options to accommodate me. The others got the schnitzel and said it was incredibly delightful and traditional. It was pounded very thin with a perfect amount of breading. The vegetarian option I got included spinach dumplings and a beet purée with spinach and both mustard and butter sauces. The chocolate lava cake omg. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming. I’ve never felt more embraced by our servers and ended the nights with hugs! We ended with aperitif’s and dessert which were phenomenal.

It was the perfect German experience with a cozy feel and fantastic food and drinks.

Chestnut soup and asparagus soup first, 2 duck legs, red cabbage and dumplings as well as zander fillet on mashed potatoes for the main course. The chestnut soup was good, the duck legs tasted okay, the red cabbage was unfortunately so sweet that it should be on the menu as a dessert 😑 . The sauce mixed with the red cabbage ad infinitum; neither the taste nor the color of the sauce was recognizable. For me, people who like sauce with their food are simply insufficient and the taste is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the asparagus soup didn't taste like asparagus, but it did taste like milk, as did the mashed potatoes from the pike-perch dish. Unfortunately there was no potato taste, it just tasted like milk... the pike perch itself tasted ok but was way too small. Overall, the entire meal was such a big disappointment that we didn't feel like having dessert (and I had the sweet red cabbage as a 'dessert'). We live in Hamburg and would have liked to have had a good experience at the restaurant "Das Dorf" so that we could come back, but we were so disappointed with the food that we will stay at this one visit. With a tip of 130 euros and we leave disappointed and hungry, you have to do that first! No recommendation for the restaurant “Das Dorf”!

As a Hamburg resident, I come to the village once a year for a special occasion :) Here you treat yourself and you won't be disappointed. (reservation is an advantage) Ingmar guided us through the evening very courteously yesterday. :) Space was a bit tight at times as the restaurant was almost fully booked, but it wasn't a problem. The food: Was very tasty! We each had a cucumber salad, 1x ox cheek, 1x duck leg and for dessert Kaiserschmarrn and plum crumble. Everything perfect, nothing to complain about. (except that the portion could have been a little bigger) The prices are steep, but as I said: you come to treat yourself. I'd rather go to the village with excellent service than, for example, to the Tarantella, where you pay the same amount and are comparatively "handled". I was happy to leave a tip :)

Per noi italiani è una locanda ubicata in un seminterrato . Il locale si distribuisce su più piccole sale molto accoglienti , colori scuri del legno e rosso .Accogliente e caratteristico . Avventori locali , servizio familiare e attento sempre accompagnato da una parola gentile e un sorriso . Piatti della tradizione molto gustosi e ben curati . La cotoletta con patate saltate e insalatina di cetriolo non delude . Lista dei vini locali e austriaci . Nessuna critica solo cose belle ! 👍

Service was super friendly and very accommodating, we were able to spontaneously reserve a table by phone and it worked out really well. Burata was delicious as a starter, the spinach dumplings and schnitzel were a bit bland, I was just missing some salt.

We visited the restaurant as a couple and were given a really, very friendly welcome. A table was quickly organized and bread and spreads were served. The service and friendliness in terms of ordering etc. was really outstanding, it couldn't be better! My Wiener Schnitzel was well breaded, nicely beaten and tasted good. The side dish of fried potatoes and cucumber salad was tasty. Unfortunately, everything was barely salted, which could be fixed with the salt shaker. However, I would have liked cranberries with the schnitzel because it simply belongs to a Viennese schnitzel. The Kaiserschmarrn dessert was good, but I didn't like the combination with cherries as much as the original with applesauce or plum roaster. Overall, we found the restaurant, the authentic decor and the service really great. A visit is highly recommended, even if the prices are a little higher.

Wir wollten mal wieder ein gutes Wiener Schnitzel essen und hatten ein bisschen im Internet geforscht. Also landeten wir im Dorf. Um uns herum waren hauptsächlich Touris. Das Schnitzel war gut bis sehr gut, die winzige Portion Bratkartoffeln mittelmäßig, der Gurkensalat nicht nach meinem Geschmack. Das Preis für das Essen 33,90 Euro. Das ist nach meiner Meinung sehr überzogen. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Yesterday the two of us spontaneously went to the village at 9 p.m. Didn't reserve. However, we were treated extremely hospitably and were given the best seat in the store within 10 minutes. Where should I start? The employees who sing Musical Like, the great, open-minded guests or the fabulous food? For me a clear 12/10!

Top service, good food, nice wines. But you sit very tight, it's hot and loud. And I'm not a fan of the two-hour limit at all.

We ate the polarizing schnitzels here today. There's nothing to complain about, they're not the best in the world, but they're good. They were tasty and well fried. The potato salad wasn't my thing, but as we all know, you can't argue with taste. My companion thought he was great. The employees are really good, nice, courteous and do a great job. Thank you very much for that. I deducted one star because the door to the toilets, which they wanted to take care of a year ago, still doesn't close properly. If we're in Hamburg again, we'll be happy to come back.

Such a lovely, rustic and cosy place. We had the classic schnitzel and it didn’t disappoint (possible a bit too much food but it was delicious)! Well worth the price, friendly service, and worked hard to accommodate a couple walking in off the street on a Friday night (!!). Highly recommended.

The two of us ate there. Because they said they had the "best schnitzel in Hamburg" (and because of the high prices), we had high expectations. So we ordered the schnitzel with fried potatoes and the paprika goulash. The homemade bread with truffle and pepper dip before the main course tasted good. However, when the main course arrived, the mood was rather sober. The portions were quite small. We didn't particularly like the food itself either. We've had better schnitzel in Hamburg. The paprika goulash could also have tasted better. At least the meat was nice and tender and there was plenty of sauce available. For dessert there was chocolate cake and Kaiserschmarrn. They weren't great in terms of taste, but they were tasty enough. After spending over €100, we still left the restaurant hungry thanks to the small portions. On the positive side, large drinks are actually very large (other restaurants could take a lesson from this). The service was nice and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy. However, it became very loud as the restaurant filled up and it was no longer possible to converse at a normal volume. The one stall in the women's restroom couldn't be locked and it could have been cleaner. Ultimately, this is not a restaurant we will visit again. The money is too good for us to leave the restaurant hungry. And since we know where we can get better schnitzel, we're not sad that this was our only visit.

A very attentive service impresses in a great ambience. The highly touted schnitzel dish was ok so far, but unfortunately not the taste highlight we were hoping for. The Kaiserschmarrn was also a bit disappointing to our taste. From our point of view, there is still room for improvement when it comes to food, otherwise a nice cellar restaurant with a good drinks menu.

I had three different types of fish. It was extraordinary. You can't prepare fish yourself like this. Gladly again.

The goulash was tough and unseasoned and the sauce was very watery. Maybe it should have cooked longer. The other dishes, schnitzel and fish were okay, but not outstanding either. The service and the ambience are really top class. The food (at least in our case) could be improved. Nevertheless, thank you for the lovely evening 🙂

The atmosphere is loud and incredibly warm there. Otherwise done quite well. Just coming here once is enough. Doesn't have to happen again.

We wanted to go out for dinner spontaneously and found The Village by chance. Unfortunately it was fully booked at the time, but the friendly waitress said we should come back in an hour. Had a drink in the meantime. We were assigned a table later. We had an excellent meal (schnitzel and panfish), accompanied by an excellent wine that was generously poured. We had a lovely evening all around, in a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again on our next visit to Hamburg

Atmosphere and service 10/10. Unfortunately, the food is below average, especially for the prices. The menu consists of only a few dishes, so one would assume that they are particularly good and balanced. Unfortunately, the goulash was tough and the Kaiserschmarrn was too eggy and tasteless.

Can't understand the good reviews, in other locations in the Long Range you start to get larger, tastier and significantly cheaper veal schnitzel. Our steaks also disappoint. Given the high prices, you should expect top quality, but unfortunately I didn't experience that, on the contrary.

Unfortunately it was just ok. We had dinner here with 6 people during the week and, despite a reservation, we were seated at a table that would actually have been suitable for a maximum of 4 people for a cozy meal. It was extremely cramped; we couldn't even eat properly with a knife and fork without constantly bumping the person sitting next to us with our elbows. In the end we had to press our arms against our upper body and hold our hands like a T-Rex. Anything but pleasant. It was also incredibly hot and stuffy, which only made the cramped seating situation even worse. The food was quite good, but we all had to add salt and pepper to everything. Service was nice and attentive, but seemed a bit shocked/surprised when we wanted to pay as soon as the plates were cleared without dessert or additional drinks. We just wanted to get out of the store. In this group we go out to eat regularly and we usually sit and chat all evening with dessert, other drinks, etc. Unfortunately we lost all desire to do this due to the seating situation. Very unfortunate. We then moved on to somewhere else and ended the evening there. The bottom line was unfortunately disappointing. Especially in this price range, you can actually expect a slightly more pleasant experience.

Rustic and tasty at fair prices.

We found the restaurant online before our trip to Hamburg as a “secret spot”. We were absolutely not disappointed. I haven't had such an unforgettable schnitzel in years. The side dishes were also impressive. The fish was fresh and tasty. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We sat outside, but also saw the restaurant from the inside. Totally small, sweet and cute. You would like to stay there longer. This schnitzel is rightly praised and praised so much! The prices are absolutely fair. A 33 out of 10!
