We went there for dinner. They had goose. It was really delicious and very nice. Friendly service and a great atmosphere.

After Sunday brunch, we made a reservation for the game buffet. It was fantastic. Everything was cooked to perfection, each piece of game prepared to perfection. It was also well-seasoned; we didn't even need to add any extra seasoning – simply superb!

My wife and I ate here for the first time yesterday, October 25th, 2025, at 7:30 pm, and what we ate was fantastic. My wife had braised ox cheeks with mashed potatoes, and I had the Tyrolean schnitzel with fried potatoes, which were definitely too small for the price. But everything was very tasty. As a complimentary appetizer, we had pretzels with goose and onion lard, which were also very delicious. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. The portions could be larger, especially the fried potatoes. The service was simply superb, very attentive and friendly. The gentleman behind the counter came to our table after the meal (the owner?) to ask about us and if everything was alright with the food—a really nice guy, there's no other way to describe him. A young woman who hadn't been there long was also very nice and attentive; she did a great job. We will definitely come back again. And what can I say? We went back to eat at the Weiss family's restaurant the next day, this time with our son. Everything was delicious again. My wife had the braised ox cheeks with mashed potatoes, and I had the turkey cordon bleu. The portion was a good size, served with fried potatoes and the homemade salad with homemade dressing – by the way, the dressing is really delicious. My son had half a duck with red cabbage, and for a starter, he had the goose cream soup, which was also delicious. So, all in all, it was really, really delicious. One drawback, or rather a major drawback, was the very meager portion of side dishes like fried potatoes or red cabbage. If you're really hungry, you should order a starter and dessert; unfortunately, the main course alone isn't enough, despite the high price, in my opinion. The fried potatoes could also be a bit crispier, and they should really add at least a handful more. It shouldn't be a deal-breaker, though. We'll come back and try again to see if the side dishes have increased in size; otherwise, the price is really not justified. It's simply unaffordable for the average working person. Personally, I'd prefer good, traditional German food with something substantial on the plate. Best regards.

An absolute recommendation for anyone who wants the following: - very good food - very good service - pleasant ambiance - "Ruhr area charm" (not meant negatively) - trying unusual cuisine - eating beautifully presented dishes - enjoying a pleasant dinner for two or even a family celebration The themed weekends are definitely worth checking out – such as the fish buffet on Good Friday and much more... We enjoy being guests there.

Shame on me... unfortunately, we rarely go to this GREAT INN... unfortunately, we always realize this when we're actually there... it was, as always, simply magnificent... great conditions with fantastic food in such a beautiful inn. We thank you for the wonderful time...

Contrary to the typical trend, this is an absolute bright spot in the Ruhr region's gastronomy scene. The food is simply enjoyable, the chef's inventiveness is outstanding, the service is highly professional and attentive, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. We'll be back again and again.

I was invited to brunch at Gasthaus Weiß, and I have to say it was absolutely amazing 🤩 The breakfast was very filling, the bread mmm... the crust was very crispy, the inside was nice and soft. Everything was very fresh and beautifully presented. It started off well, the service was very attentive and not annoying. Then, around 12:00 PM, the hot food arrived (if only I'd known that beforehand 🫣) The hot buffet was also excellent and varied (unfortunately, I was almost full by then) And then there were delicious desserts too 🥰 It was a very successful Sunday. The asparagus buffet (June 2025) left nothing to be desired. The asparagus variations were all incredibly delicious, with various meat and fish dishes. The dessert selection was equally appealing. Everything was harmonious and beautifully presented. 🌞 The goose dinner was very good. Friendly and attentive service. A cozy atmosphere and great decor. The Bavarian buffet, which I've visited several times in the past, and the spare ribs, as well as the holiday pick-up specials, are also highly recommended. I'd be happy to go back anytime.

You were at the Gasthaus Weiss for the first time on May 1st. Asparagus buffet. Excellent food. Have tried many dishes. All very tasty. Very attentive, fast and friendly service. You immediately notice that this is an owner-managed restaurant. Small drawback: no parking spaces and the terrace faces the Aldi parking lot. But that's complaining at a high level. Dear Gasthaus Weiss: you have new regular customers. See you soon

Beautiful restaurant in Hattingen. The brunch is amazing with a huge selection of food. The bread is homemade and delicious. If you book brunch, be careful not to eat too much because lunch is included and starts shortly afterwards.

We recently celebrated an unforgettable family celebration at the Gasthaus Weiß in Hattingen. Absolutely recommended. This time I was there for Schnitzel Day (Thursday). But whether it's brunch or any of the other events on offer are great.

We've been here several times for brunch with the family and we simply love it. Nothing is missing. Very tasty bread. Lots of selection of sausage, cheese, jam etc. Scrambled eggs are freshly prepared. Lunch was also always good and there was something for everyone. Unfortunately the price is getting more and more expensive.

Service friendly, accommodating. Plenty of choice of food. Ordered dishes served tasty and quickly. Ambience rather conservative. The menu is rather meat-heavy and not suitable for mixed groups with veggies.

Once again we ate very well. It will probably really be our traditional Christmas restaurant from now on. Beautiful ambience. Thanks to the very friendly, helpful and personable waiter who endured even the most chaotic orders from our children and answered the most curious questions from our gourmets with calm and enormous kindness. We've been here before, but for the first time with family and it won't be the last time.

Despite postponing our reservation twice to a later date that same evening, we received a very warm welcome. We also got the food as ordered á la carte. It was also very tasty. The Gasthaus Weiß is worth recommending. Friendly service and excellent food.

We had booked a table for Friday and were there on time. Unfortunately the table was given to someone else, so we had to leave! No other solution was found, even though my husband had to use crutches and obviously couldn't stand for long. Should we wait that long at the bar???? This has never happened to me! It's a shame because we really appreciate the cuisine there! Unfortunately it was also very loud in the dining room!!

Very unfriendly older waitress and unfortunately had really inedible food! When I asked what the food was like, I said it wasn't possible, but I didn't get anything else/new. The chicken strips were partly undercooked and completely gristly. Some of the salad was totally rotten. Had to pay for everything. Are super disappointed!!! Now lying flat with stomach pain from bad food. Really a shame!

A very stylish restaurant with top staff. This time I was here for the wild buffet and was thrilled with the food on offer. Taste and quality top. (What wasn't so nice was the table decoration with plastic flowers, not quite suitable.)

Unfortunately the tables are all very close together. The food was mixed - my schnitzels consisted of as much breading as meat, which wasn't particularly tasty.

Simply great food, the best fried potatoes ever and the Matjes Hausfrau style was fresh and plentiful. My husband had spare ribs, all you can eat, with three dips, rosemary potatoes, garlic bread, baked tomatoes and onions, with coleslaw. Even the Radler was fresher, cooler, tastier and more drinkable! A clear recommendation! Here we still create magic in the kitchen with a lot of heart and mind! Masterful!

We celebrated our 70th birthday at the Gasthaus Weiß with around 50 people. The food (asparagus buffet) was simply terrific. The selection was so wide that there was something for every taste. In addition, the always attentive and friendly service staff must be mentioned. All of our guests commented very positively. It was an all-round successful evening and we are always happy to come back.

A hidden little restaurant with great cuisine, quick and funny female waitresses. Thanks for the dark chocolate at the end. For our first visit we chose the schnitzel day, we also ordered the African cheese burger made from Namibian pastured beef and were totally impressed. We will be back.

We visited the Gasthaus Weiß for the first time at the Karussell menu. When I made a reservation by telephone at short notice, I immediately noticed the extremely friendly communication. The following evening was very nice, the food was excellent, the staff was more than attentive and friendly. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback was as welcome as we were. Due to the good experience, we booked brunch directly on Good Friday and were given a very friendly welcome a second time. The buffet and service were again perfect. We will definitely come back again!!!

Yesterday we were at the Gasthaus Weiß for the first but certainly not the last time. It started with the friendly reservation on the phone. When we arrived we received a very warm welcome with our Rhodesian Ridgeback. We became aware of the restaurant through the Menucarousel homepage. The menu was sensational. Honest cuisine, as my husband likes to say, with great taste. But on top of that there was a great service who knew what she was talking about and recommended. Rarely have I seen such attentive service. All-round warm service, great atmosphere and ambience, we will definitely be back 🤩✌🏼

A very Courteous, polite and attentive as well as charming service completed the extremely tasteful furnishings and underlined the appetizing courses with an endearing, African-themed decoration. Ich habe für Heiligabend Essen vorbestellt und abgeholt. Die Organisation zur Abholung sowie das Essen an sich waren top! Es gab Ente mit Backpflaumen Soße, Knödel und Rotkohl. Dat war lecker!

Ganz toll, wenn man in Hattingen sein sollte, sollte man dort essen. Echt.

Wir sind seit etlichen Jahren immer wieder im Gasthaus Weiss zu Gast. Das sagt an sich schon alles über das Essen und den Service aus. Mittlerweile fühle ich mich nicht mehr als Gast sondern als Freund der Betreiber UND des Service-Teams. Ich wünsche allen eine schöne Weihnachtszeit und einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr. Gruß Ingo

Nachdem wir schon mal vergangenes Jahr zu Ostern dort gebruncht haben, waren wir Weihnachten erneut im Haus Weiß zum Brunch. Es war Klasse. Das Essen war hervorragend, der Service sehr sympathisch und aufmerksam und alles stimmig und ansprechend dekoriert. Gesessen haben wir auch bequem. Zum Parken kann man den angrenzenden Aldi Parkplatz nutzen. Einziger Wermutstropfen: scheinbar gibt es andere Gäste, die blind oder blöd sind, die ihre benutzen Trockentücher auf der Toilette in den Schlitz mit den sauberen Tüchern stopfen statt in den Abfall daneben.

Wie immer ein perfekter Abend ..das Wheinachts Buffet wie immer super lecker und reichhaltig...sehr zu empfehlen..wir kommen gerne wieder..dann zum 3 .mal!

Gestern waren wir mit 4 Personen zum Gansessen. Es war ein perfekter Abend!!! Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend, das Personal ist sehr, sehr aufmerksam (trotz vollem Lokal war alles sehr gut organisiert ) und das Essen mal wieder sehr, sehr gut!!! Hier kann jeder für ein paar Stunden dem Alltag entfliehen und sich wirklich verwöhnen lassen. DANKE!!!

Wer gerne und gemütlich essen möchte, ist im Gasthaus Weiss sehr gut aufgehoben. Ein sehr gutes Gänseessen mit hervorragender Bedienung. Vielen lieben Dank für den schönen Abend.

Wir, Ehepaar, kamen ohne vorherige Reservierung an. Erwies sich dann als Fehler. Wollten schon wieder gehen. Ein kleiner Tisch für 2 Personen wäre noch möglich. Ob wir den kleinen Tisch akzeptieren könnten? Natürlich konnten wir, sogar sehr gerne. Wir genossen einen hervorragenden Service mit Herz und Verstand. Und, ach ja, deswegen gingen wir auch hin, erstklassigem Essen. Trotz des vollen Restaurants saßen wir etwas abseits vom Geschehen, Auch hier wurde das Unmögliche möglich: mittendrin und doch für uns. Toll! Danke für diesen Abend.

Unser Gansessen heute war hervorragend. Sehr lecker und reichlich mit einem tollen und aufmerksamen Service (Nicole ist spitze). Das Ambiente ist so schön, dass man sich sofort wohl fühlt.
