Diergardts "Kühler Grund" in Hattingen

Das war alles sehr überzeugend mit einem stimmigen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Vorspeisen, Hauptgänge und Desserts ließen keine Wünsche offen. Schön, dass es noch Küchen gibt, in denen mit frischen Kräutern gewürzt wird und dass auch die Präsentation der Speisen mit deren Qualität mithält. Auch ließ es sich auf der Außenterrasse angenehm sitzen.

Mal wieder ein sehr schöner Abend in einem wirklich guten Restaurant Wir waren mit 8 Personen vor Ort und hatten einen schönen Tisch aussen. Der Service ist wirklich Top, obwohl das Restaurant sehr gut besucht war. Alle 8 Personen waren mit der Qualität der Speisen, Vorspeise und Hauptgericht super zufrieden. Für so eine tolle Qualität und Freundlichkeit müssen wir nicht nach K oder Ddorf, das gibt es heir vor Ort Macht weiter so, ich bin seit über 30 Jahren Fan

Zur Feier unseres Hochzeitstages haben wir vor einer Woche einen Tisch im Diergardts reserviert. Kurz gesagt, Essen und Service waren Klasse, wir hatten einen tollen Abend. Sehr lobend erwähnen muss ich noch die köstliche Bouillabaisse, die ich als Hauptgang hatte. Wir freuen uns aufs nächste Mal.

Nach langer Zeit hatten wir endlich wieder das Gefühl, wirklich hochwertige Speisen und liebevoll zubereitete Gerichte genießen zu dürfen. Vom ersten Moment an fühlten wir uns willkommen. Das Ambiente ist wunderschön, stilvoll und lädt sofort zum Wohlfühlen ein. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Die Speisen waren durchweg hervorragend – geschmacklich ein Genuss, perfekt zubereitet und mit viel Liebe zum Detail angerichtet. Man merkt, dass hier Wert auf Qualität gelegt wird. Für uns war dieser Besuch wie eine kleine Auszeit vom Alltag, fast wie ein kurzer Urlaub. Genau solche Orte sind selten geworden. Wir haben unsere standesamtliche Hochzeit im kleinen Kreis bei Diergardts in Hattingen gefeiert und hätten uns keinen schöneren Ort dafür wünschen können. Von der ersten Vorbesprechung über den aufmerksamen Service bis hin zum unfassbar guten Essen war einfach alles rundum gelungen. Man merkt sofort, mit wie viel Herz, Professionalität und Liebe zum Detail dort gearbeitet wird. Wir und unsere Gäste haben uns den ganzen Tag über bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die eine besondere Feier planen – egal ob im kleinen oder großen Rahmen. Umso mehr freuen wir uns schon darauf, nächstes Jahr auch unsere kirchliche Hochzeit dort feiern zu dürfen!

Leider kann ich die guten Bewertungen nicht teilen. Der Spargel mit Kartoffel für 26€ war hart und faserig. Das Wiener Schnitzel dazu für zusätzliche 18€ unprofessionell gebraten, mit Öl vollgesogen. Die Bedienung kam nicht hinterher. Für diese Preisklasse viel zu wenig.

Wir waren das erste Mal im Kühler Grund und es war einfach großartig. Fischbuffet am Gründonnerstag. Preis Leistung war top. Das Ambiente sowie auch das Serviceteam waren vorbildlich und somit waren an diesem Abend unsere Erwartungen mehr als übertroffen. Danke für diesen schönen Abend und die tolle Erfahrung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr netter Ort um gut zu essen und zu feiern.

Wir waren gestern mit 5 Personen zum ersten aber nicht zum letzten Mal in diesem schönen Restaurant. Bisher fiel es uns immer im Vorbeifahren über die Blankensteiner Straße auf. So ansprechend, wie es sich von außen präsentiert, so ansprechend ist es auch von innen. Mein Wunsch, bei der Reservierung nach einem schönen Tisch nicht mittendrin, wurde 100% entsprochen. Vom Entree bis hin zum Tisch, vom liebenswürdigen und aufmerksamen Personal und nicht zuletzt vom Angebot leckerer Speisen und ausgesuchten Produkten, war dieser Abend sehr gelungen und ist von uns rundum positiv zu bewerten. Und wer sich vielleicht an den Preisen stört, so kann ich hier nur sagen " Qualität hat seinen Preis." Für uns war es gut investiertes Geld in einen entspannten Restaurant Besuch den wir so, sehr lange nicht gefunden hatten. Wir danken dem Personal und dem Küchenteam für den schönen Abend. Denn nicht alles lässt sich mit Geld kaufen. Das Engagement, das Herzblut als auch die Freundlichkeit waren bei jeder/m Mitarbeiter/in zu spüren.

Diergardt`s Kühler Grund selber ist urgemütlich, es ist geräumig, man sitzt nicht eng, kann sich gut unterhalten, egal, in welcher Gruppenstärke man Platz benötigt, es gibt immer einen schönen Tisch, auch, wenn man z.B. etwas separierter sitzen möchte. Im Sommer gibt es eine große Außenterrasse, auf der man sehr schön sitzen kann. Das ganze Team ist ausnehmend freundlich, herzlich, serviceorientiert und locker.Ganz besonders schön ist es, dass dort, neben der Familie, auch langjährige Mitarbeiter anzutreffen sind. Man merkt, dass ausnahmslos jeder auf den Gast fokussiert ist und darauf, dem Gast den schönsten Abend zu realisieren. Das Essen ist immer kreativ, saisonal passend, abwechslungsreich, aufwändig zubereitet und köstlich. Egal, ob Suppe, Salat, Fisch, Fleisch, vegetarisch - jedes Gericht ist einfallsreich und großartig. Dazu gibt es eine enorm umfangreiche und sehr gut zusammen gestellte Weinkarte, tolle Aperitifs und Absacker. Die besonderen Abende, z.B. die Küchenparty, das Fischbüffet, Locanda, das Spargelbüffet oder das Gänsemenü sind zu Recht weit im voraus ausgebucht. Es gibt dort enorm kreative, köstliche Gerichte in großer Auswahl zum Thema. Philipp Diergardt versteht es, immer wieder neue Ideen auf den Tisch zu bringen und müßte eigentlich schon längst einen Stern bekommen haben. Um es kurz zu machen: kann man nicht besser machen ! Wir freuen uns schon auf ein leckeres 2026 ;o)

Wir waren mit 9 Personen zum traditionellen Weihnachtsessen dort. Zuerst das Positive: Ausreichend Parkplätze und unsere Reservierung war bekannt. Aber dann: Wir bekommen einen Raum zugewiesen, der vom Ambiente nicht unbedingt der vorweihnachtlichen Stimmung entsprach. Die erste Bestellung der Getränke lief normal, bis auf meinen Kir. Ich hatte extra darauf hingewiesen keinen Kir Royal zu wollen. Was kam, na ja, die uns zugewiesene Servicekraft war definitiv noch in der Ausbildung, also sei es verziehen. Während ein Mann mit einem kurzen Jacket immer wieder in den Raum stürmte um eine Flasche Wein aus dem Schrank zu holen lief es bei der Bedienung leider nicht so gut. Meine Frau bekam nach der Vorspeise nicht sofort ein neues Besteck. Erst nach Nachfrage und als die Hauptspeise schon serviert wurde. Wenn man eine Edelfischplatte bestellt, erwartet man was? Richtig, ein Fischmesser. Leider auch erst nach Nachfrage. Auch der Wein wurde erst immer bei Nachfrage nachgeschenkt. Das junge Menschen eine Ausbildung machen und noch nicht alles beherrschen ist klar, klar ist aber auch, das eine erfahrene Servicekraft sie unauffällig betreut und auf Versäumnisse hinweist. Das Essen war salzarm und übersichtlich. Dafür waren die Preise in der Endabrechnung nicht zu übersehen. Für ein Haus mit dieser Tradition und preislichen Ansprüchen erwarte ich einfach mehr. Wie es meinen Freunden erging habe ich zwar verfolgt. Es ist aber nicht meine Aufgabe das zu kommentieren. Wann der nächste Besuch stattfinden wird, kann ich aber schon sagen. Wahrscheinlich nie. Wir hatten Anfang Oktober für eine Familien Weihnachtsfeier einen Tisch reserviert. Da wir eine ganze Gans vorbestellen wollten, hatten wir noch einmal eine Woche vor dem Termin angerufen. Erkenntnis: die Tischreservierung war nicht eingetragen worden und wir sollten uns nach einer Alternative umsehen. Danke - nie wieder!!

Heute hat's gebrummt im Kühlen Grund, Nikolaustag ! Trotzdem: aufmerksamer Service und einmal mehr wirklich gut gemachtes Essen. Nicht billig, aber letztlich " preiswert "

Reichlich Parkplätze. Stilvoller Eingang. Netter Empfang. Man wird zum Tisch begleitet. Schönes Ambiente und tolle Einrichtung. Sehr zuvorkommend und freundliches Personal. Wunderbare Speisen von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert. Klassisches Gänsegericht und Zimteis mit warmen Pflaumen waren der Hit. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Service war gut,sehr höflich und sehr aufmerksam. Danke dafür. Essen [ wir hatten das gans Menü) war leider nicht zufriedenstellend. Salat war gut fehlte aber so der letzte pfiff. Die Gans und leider muss ich das sagen, war nicht gut. Viel zu trocken nicht hundert Prozent heiß. Teilweise zäh. Dies empfanden wir alle drei. Beilagen waren lecker. Das Dessert war wiederum sehr lecker. Warum habe wir nichts gesagt?!. Ganz einfach es kann passieren. Bei den anderen male war immer alles top. Wir kommen natürlich sehr gerne wieder. Sorry ihr Lieben

It's always been a lovely restaurant. The new building is perfect for weddings. Owner Friedel and his staff cook good, delicious food. The service is very attentive. Unfortunately, prices have risen so dramatically recently that going out is no longer fun.

Top-class gastronomy with excellent service and an upscale atmosphere.

We celebrated a small wedding here this summer (about 14 people). Before and during the ceremony, every one of our wishes was catered to. We had a wonderful celebration with a wonderful and intimate atmosphere. The food was delicious, and we were perfectly looked after. In the end, they even gave us a good price. This celebration exceeded all our expectations, and it was a successful day for everyone. Thank you so much!

A very successful evening. We were very satisfied with the service. The eggnog could have been more prominent with dessert. The prices for the dishes are a bit higher, but this correlates with the quality. We found the prices for spirits a bit high, especially since we've had a few of them and are also familiar with the bottle prices.

High expectations were unfortunately dashed by the main course – excellent service A multi-award-winning restaurant with a great reputation that receives praise year after year. My expectations for lunch were accordingly high. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the main course, the one I was most looking forward to. The so-called "Tränchen vom Bürgermeister" (The Mayor's Teardrop) with Jack's Creek Black Angus beef was a disappointment in several respects. The first plate was returned because the meat was already starting to get cold. The second portion came back warmer, but in even worse condition. The meat was coarsely shredded, riddled with tendons, and difficult to cut with a steak knife. It seemed more like it had been torn from the whole than expertly cut. The visual presentation was also careless and arranged without any apparent effort. Absolutely inadequate for a dish in this price range. The service, on the other hand, was completely different. Two servers were on duty in our area that lunchtime, both very attentive and professional. One accompanied our entire visit with calm friendliness and a confident demeanor. The other reacted immediately when she noticed the inadequate condition of the plate during clearing and spontaneously offered a replacement dish, a model of genuine commitment and good sense. The appetizer and dessert were in keeping with fine dining, well-crafted and visually appealing. Nevertheless, my focus was clearly on the main course, the supposed flagship of the establishment. This was precisely where the biggest weakness lay. It was the most disappointing main course I've been served in a long time. The ambiance was pleasant and calm. The atmosphere lived up to the establishment's standards: attentive but unobtrusive staff, a well-kept dining room, and a pleasant lunchtime atmosphere. My conclusion A restaurant with a good reputation and excellent service, which unfortunately didn't impress in the kitchen on this day. I hope it was a rare slip-up. In any case, the service team did everything they could to ensure the experience was as enjoyable as possible. Hence the three stars instead of one. We ordered a purely vegetarian catering service for 30 people for a birthday party. It was absolutely delicious – the service was perfect! We say THANK YOU and would love to see these dishes appear more often on the menu.

I ate at Diergardt's "Bochum Kulinarisch" for the first time. Unfortunately, both the tuna and the salmon were cold (should it be?!) – in any case, the tuna in particular was quite tough. When you attend an event like this and use it as a showcase, you'd expect the dishes to be "on point." The fact that it was due to the slow order-taking and the prepared or "waiting" plates seems like a sufficient explanation to me. The kitchen staff also seemed unhappy about the slow order-taking, as much of the food seemed to be prepared "in advance." Overall, it's a shame, because I believe the food is certainly excellent. But for €31, I expect a different quality for a bite of salmon and tuna. Apart from that, it was similar at the other restaurants… A shame for "Bochum Kulinarisch" overall.

Coming originally from Hattingen and for 42 years living in Ireland, I phoned Diergardt from here and enquired about a “tasting menu” as this was not on their card. I wanted this to celebrate a very special occasion and to give my family the chance to experience German food at its best. Diergardt’s staff went out of their way to oblige and this dinner proved to be an experience not to be missed. Over the years I have eaten in many excellent restaurants with great wine lists, but Diergardt wine list is exceptional. Unfortunately, their sommelier had got up with the wrong foot and proved to be the only disappointment on an otherwise exceptional evening. I lost count of how many different courses were served, but it left nothing to desire. While the final bill for three people (including an excellent bottle of wine) was over 500€ it was money well spent as the food and service was noteworthy and I can whole heatedly recommend this place.

A restaurant where you can't help but feel at home. From the food to the hosts to the ambiance, simply perfect. We'll be back, for sure.

As always, very, very good food! Summer dishes wonderfully paired with excellent wine by the glass. The friendly, attentive service and the long-standing staff speak for themselves. Despite the prices, the value for money is very good; while many similar dishes are available in the surrounding area, they are not served with this quality in such a refined ambiance. One could almost say that Diergardt is one of the last of its kind. Thankfully, the junior chef is running the kitchen, and the next generation is already growing up. Grateful for the food!

A very nice location. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The outdoor seating is wonderful. Six of us went, and everyone enjoyed the food. The prices are a bit high, but it's definitely worth it. We'll be back.

A very elegant restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive. The rooms are spacious, so you don't feel cramped and it's not too noisy from other guests. The layout is also great. At first glance, the restaurant seems huge, and you might think you're lost, but that's not the case. The restrooms are also very clean. All in all, a very warm, inviting atmosphere. The outdoor area was also well-maintained. There was plenty of seating. The food was also very tasty, and everything came quickly. The portions were the perfect size, and the time between courses was pleasant enough to pause and enjoy.

A wonderful evening at Diergardt's "Kühlen Grund." The Yard Menu and accompanying wines were "extra class" and no match for Michelin-starred cuisine. The service was competent and very polite. In short...we'd be happy to return.

From planning to execution, it was simply top-notch. In addition to excellent food and service, it was also very child-friendly. If anyone is planning a celebration, trust Mr. Diergardt's recommendation. The price/performance ratio is also at least 5 stars.

World class! The evening with you was fantastic – we haven't had such a good meal in a long time, and in such a wonderful atmosphere. The service was first-class, attentive, and more than friendly. The appetizers were phenomenal, and the Bürgermeisterstück (bread and butter) – I have no words for it – was on cloud nine. We visited this wonderful restaurant again for lunch today. After a truly minor complaint, we were treated with the utmost professionalism and charm. The dishes were original, fresh, and simply fantastic. We would love to return.

Very nice atmosphere, nice staff, but for me a really bad price-performance ratio. For 4 sticks of asparagus 26€ is an announcement, and also poorly peeled. You have to want it... We weren't happy today.

Everything was excellent from reception to finish! The very friendly and experienced service was unobtrusive but attentive when it came to refilling the good wine or other requests, the food was of excellent quality, in our case the tasty starter salad, the beautifully fried mayor's piece that melted in the mouth with vegetable side dishes and delicious Bernaise, as well as the various sorbets for dessert, all top class. The ambience is dignified and very fitting for this long-established restaurant. Great recommendation!

Wir kommen oft und gerne und sind noch nie enttäuscht worden. Wir schwören auf die Weihnachtsgans. Die Bouillabaisse ist umwerfend. Aber auch Schnitzeltag ist nicht zu verachten. Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

Excellent cuisine, rustic-classy ambience, plenty of parking spaces

The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, our impression was greatly marred by the service right from the start. The waitress was unfriendly, seemed listless and not trying hard. There was a lack of attention and a minimum of hospitality. It's a shame, because with better service there would have been a significantly higher rating.

We come here regularly to eat as a family and are thrilled every time. Our two children accompany us on every visit – one aged nine months and the other aged four. The waitresses always treat us with great friendliness and warmth. What is particularly noteworthy is that not only the palate is taken into account, but also the needs of the little ones. Our children are lovingly cared for, given a little tour of the kitchen and we even make sure that their own little bedside table is brought out. The food impresses with its first-class taste and high quality. We can fully recommend this place.

I was in the restaurant as part of a tourism event. My previously stated allergies and intolerances were taken into account when preparing the food without any problems. When greeting me, the receptionist talked me through my meals again. Absolutely professional. The food was great. Thanks again to the kitchen. Absolutely recommended.

The Christmas menu 2024 was delicious including children's meals and vegetarian options. Requests were also responded to 100% patiently. The service was very courteous, including Mr. Diergardt Senior, who greeted the guests and gave the children little surprises. The ambience was upscale without being too overwhelming. All in all, a successful 2nd Christmas afternoon. THANKS

The best restaurant in town. We have been to Diergardts Kühler Grund a few times - on special occasions - eat, most recently on Christmas Day. The four of us enjoyed a delicious menu in a great ambience, with courteous service. We are already looking forward to the New Year's Eve menu.

Fuimos 16 personas de mi familia alemana especialmente para probar el ganso. Habíamos estado ya seis años atrás y nos había gustado mucho. Esta vez nos ha gustado incluso más lo preparan de una forma exquisita con la piel crujiente varios acompañamientos a base de manzana lombarda, castañas, patata, etc. Unos vinos muy buenos y un servicio excelente nos facilitaron un reservado donde pasamos una tarde fantástica. Yo no he estado en muchos sitios en Alemania, comiendo ganso, pero desde luego todos los alemanes que venían conmigo coincidían que era el mejor que ellos habían probado. Cuando nos fuimos del restaurante, como había sobrado comida, nos lo pusieron todo en unas cajas monísimas todo correspondientemente etiquetado. Ver foto

It was an all-around delicious goose meal. Attentive, friendly staff with a boss who greets guests personally. We felt very comfortable.

We were there with a large group. Everyone had the offer including a complete menu including a buffet, which left nothing to be desired. Super versatile and very tasty.

Well, it's really not an insider tip, but for anyone who's never been there: definitely go if you like high-quality, exciting food without much fuss. And the wine list is almost legendary in my opinion. Our dog always feels great here and it's great to go for a walk in the area after a hearty lunch.

Thanks to the service team and the kitchen team, we had a very nice evening. The mayor piece cooked sous vide tasted very good and the Bernaise sauce and the side dishes were also very good. For dessert I chose the blackberry sorbet with gin espuma, which was also excellent. From the wine list we chose a Pinot Blanc from the Rudolf Fürst winery which tasted very good. The Diergardts deserved the highest rating in all categories, I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

My wife and I have already eaten at Diergardts Kühler Grund twice and were thrilled with the food and the service staff both times. These positive experiences led us to celebrate our wedding there in September 2024. Our expectations were even exceeded on this special day. Here are the highlights of our celebration: - The coach house as a cozy space. Parallel to our celebration, normal restaurant operations were running, but we didn't notice anything about it because the coach house can be easily separated from the rest of the restaurant. The buffet was set up in the adjacent anteroom, which later provided space for the DJ and the dance floor. - The service staff was always friendly, attentive and flexible, so that they easily responded to spontaneous program items and special requests. - The chef and his team conjured up a first-class buffet (starter, main course and dessert) and the chef took the time to explain the individual dishes to the guests in more detail. - There was also a changing facility for young parents, which we found very practical. Overall, we had a great evening and can fully recommend this restaurant for weddings of our size (around 30 people).

We were there for our 10th wedding anniversary, 10 years ago to the day we celebrated there with over 100 guests. But somehow no one was interested, I would have expected a little congratulations, but it was well known anyway. After half an hour we had to ask if we could order. They had probably assumed that we were still waiting for other guests, although I had said when making the reservation that we would come with or without our two children. You probably didn't want to ask. I had to think about how to eat my main course without a plate and my wife should drink a non-alcoholic aperitif with wine. The restaurant was busy, so maybe that's why we felt a bit run-of-the-mill.

Only recommended. Perfect atmosphere, especially for large groups. Outside, for example as a reception and then inside for celebrating and dining.

It's a shame, the food was great. I enjoyed the rabbit leg. Service was also excellent. Unfortunately, the espresso was one of the worst, totally watery, bitter and without crema and that was true for all four.

It couldn't be better! Been coming here for years, food service is simply top notch. Totally relaxed in terms of price. We really recommend the black pudding and also the Wiener Schnitzel. Or you can order potato pancakes in advance. The wine list is impressive across the board.

We sat outside here in a very nice atmosphere and had a really nice evening. The food was excellent. 😋 The service was friendly and accommodating. 👍 We will definitely come back.

We were there as part of a larger celebration and were completely satisfied. The staff is very attentive, friendly, helpful and always tries to fulfill all wishes.

Very nice, cozy atmosphere, we immediately felt at home. We had the summer menu and found the presentation and taste very appealing. We can only recommend the restaurant.
