We recently ate at the Krone for the first time. The terrace was absolutely beautiful, the service was very friendly and prompt, and the highlight was the delicious Greek food. Everything was fresh, very well seasoned, and beautifully presented. The value for money was simply outstanding. We'll definitely be back.

We were here for dinner. We reserved a table and received very quick and friendly service. The ambiance is truly wonderful. The garden restaurant is sheltered from the street amidst flowers and shrubs. It's very cozy. The food was, unfortunately, only average. Some of the meat was a bit dry, although the smoky flavor from the grill added a good flavor. The skewer was advertised as coming with vegetables, but this was limited to five pieces (onion and pepper) between the pieces of meat. The plate was filled with the less expensive potato slices. And I found the price too high for that. Therefore, despite the cozy atmosphere, I only give it 4 stars.

A lovely restaurant in Märkt, recently revived. In summer, you can sit in the garden, shaded by the chestnut trees. The cuisine is highly recommended, with a focus on Greek dishes.

Good food, pleasant atmosphere – prices a bit higher We usually come to the Hotel Krone for dinner. The food is very tasty and of good quality. The prices are a bit high, but that's normal in the area, probably due to its proximity to Switzerland. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy, and the service is always very friendly and attentive. Overall, a lovely place for a relaxed meal.

The gyros in Metaxa sauce were good, the taramas were excellent, and the potatoes were super tasty 😋 The beer was great 🍺 Would go again

Beautiful restaurant, very friendly staff

After a miserable drive through Switzerland with numerous traffic jams, we looked for a hotel and ended up here. Nice hotel, friendly owner, the restaurant (Greek Mediterranean) was to our surprise really but really super tasty, all in all good and nice food (and especially the beer) was very good, we will definitely come back again.

We stayed there overnight and were very satisfied. The hotel is old, as is the furnishings, but everything is clean and fine for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good, everything fresh and plentiful. Unfortunately, we couldn't try the restaurant because we were there on their day off. We highly recommend it.

All 6 people were very satisfied with the food; there was nothing but praise for the dishes. Der neue Wirt ist weder Koch, noch Grieche. Essen ist alles das Gleiche, wird auch vermutlich auf dem selben Grill gemacht. Scampis z.B. nicht den Darm entfernt, Fleisch schmeckt nach Fisch. Zudem ist er unfreundlich.

On our way back from Italy, a good place to stay overnight, just a short drive from the highway. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the delicious food due to the quiet day! The room was neat and clean. Breakfast: plenty of choice, in a cozy atmosphere! Friendly owner/staff. Gas station and possibly Lidl nearby. Too bad there wasn't an elevator.

I can only rate the restaurant. The food is delicious, but the portions are small, the prices are reasonable, and the service is okay. Let's just say we often had to wait quite a long time, and our side salad was completely forgotten. When we asked, another waiter asked if we were absolutely sure we hadn't already had a salad, which bothered me personally. We did get the side salad after all. They eventually found the mistake somewhere and even apologized, but the insinuation beforehand dampened my mood 🤷 Hence only two stars for service. The food easily deserved four stars, five for the taste, but the portions were really small for a big eater. The truly delicious tzatziki in particular was more of a decoration than anything else.

The best Greek food I've had in a long time. The outdoor restaurant is pleasantly shady and airy in hot weather thanks to the large chestnut trees. The service was excellent. There was even popular Greek music playing in the background. I'd be happy to go again.

A lovely hotel with incredibly attentive staff. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good, and special requests are catered for immediately, but the in-house restaurant deserves special mention. It's world-class. I've rarely eaten so well (especially for this price). Unfortunately, fraud. I booked a room for €160 on Booking.com. However, the Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in Basel this weekend and the hosts have clearly missed the fact that they can make more money from the room. Despite booking confirmation and a note from Booking that everything was done correctly, the hotel continued to demand that I cancel and get the room for €800! book a new one (i.e. five times the price). The old price was blamed on a “system error”.

Après une balade au bord du Vieux Rhin, en partant du barrage germano-français, nous sommes allés mangé à ce restaurant grec situé sur la route principale de Märkt. La carte est on ne peut plus fournie, des pages de recettes plus alléchantes les une que les autres. J'ai commandé le 79 : Bifteki gratiné de viande hachée mixte, fourré au fromage de brebis, sauce Metaxa + Tranches de pommes de terre et salade d'accompagnement. Pour l'apéro, on nous a offert un verre d'Ouzo en plus de ce que nous avions commandé. La salade était très bonne et rafraichissante. Le repas était vraiment copieux et excellent. Le service était sobre et sympathique. Je vous recommande cette adresse.

Today we were in the restaurant without a hotel, there is also a garden restaurant outside in summer. It is a cozy guest room with comfortable upholstered chairs and very attentive and friendly staff. There is a wide selection of delicious dishes and desserts. Good day, I travel a lot and stay in hotels a lot. I am delighted with this hotel, it is clean and tidy, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, nice surroundings for a walk, near the river Rhine and you can cross the bridge to France, shops are not far away. By the way, even large buses and coaches can be accommodated in the parking lot, so I can safely recommend this hotel!!

Staff very friendly and attentive. Food very tasty, meat juicy, nice smoky aroma, fried potatoes nice and crispy. Salad nice, salad dressing unfortunately a bit watery. Dessert was also ok, although I wouldn't use the figs anymore, no taste, maybe they weren't ripe enough. Overall, we (6 people) enjoyed it and we will definitely come back

Great Greek restaurant at fair prices. We had dinner with the family and were pleasantly surprised, as there are one or two negative reviews here. We received a very friendly welcome and excellent service throughout, even though the restaurant was fully booked. We had a starter platter and 3 different dishes and 2 children's dishes for the main course. All dishes were very tasty and more than sufficient. The lamb shank was worth highlighting; almost no knife was needed here. We found the prices to be absolutely fair, especially when you look at what other Greek restaurants charge.

Good food (ready cordon bleu) Service rather messed up

On Saturday evening we visited the beer garden, which we appreciate as being beautifully located in summer. There has been a new tenant for about 3 months who specializes in Greek cuisine. The menu is huge, so you wonder how this could be possible with fresh items. The salad tastes like it came from a can, both the ingredients and the salad dressing seem to be of very cheap quality, but large (if you like it). Likewise the gyros plate with potato slices - this is a large portion, but simple in terms of quality and taste. Both plates cost just under 20 euros each. The waitress barely speaks German (and no Greek), which is fine with us, we managed well in English. However, the entire service was unprofessional and overwhelmed. I hope that the Krone team will take the feedback constructively and maybe we'll try again next summer if the tenant is still there by then...

The food was tasty, the prices were average and the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff is friendly, but very rude. Very long waiting times… you wait 30 minutes just to get a card. If you want to eat here you definitely have to have a lot of time and patience. Special requests such as potato slices instead of tomato rice could also NOT be implemented. Somehow the staff just doesn't have it together yet. It takes ages until you can order, ages until the food comes and the bill also takes at least 30 minutes to arrive. Despite the friendliness, you don't really feel welcome. Nevertheless, the food tastes delicious. We didn't get any stomach pains either, only my husband was very thirsty that night and had to drink several bottles of water. But it was tasty, you can't say anything about it.

Just awful. It's been with a new tenant since the beginning of July and it's an absolute disaster. We were still able to laugh about the chaos, the overwhelmed staff and the lack of German language skills. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing and completely demotivated and disinterested family members of the owners were on duty. Taking orders without a menu and appetizers without cutlery were also an interesting type of service. Some people left without having accomplished anything because they simply weren't served. Really a bizarre show the whole thing. But when my son's chicken nuggets (which he had already eaten) turned out to be completely raw inside, we couldn't help but laugh. The absolute real life Frank Rosin episode. The restaurant won't last a year. Completely wrong!

Mr Tafani's service is heart-warming. We stayed here twice on the way to and back from Italy. Excellent location just off the highway. A very nice garden/terrace for a nice meal or a beer in the evening.

Greece in markets. We were there on Saturday lunchtime, alone in the beer garden. According to the sign outside, warm food from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Somehow there were internal problems or organizational complications. Unfortunately, the menu didn't appeal to us, the selection was far too large, freshness was probably a priority. We were looking forward to the perch fillet, unfortunately this is no longer available. Food below average, we couldn't recognize any creativity (it's a copy paste menu), garlic was annoying, potato slices smelled like fish. Will probably be prepared in the same without notice. Prices are not that cheap for the quality you get. Large portions. There are good Greeks not far away. After a short conversation with the host, it turned out that he was not from Greece. 1 star is given for the courageous decision to become self-employed as a restaurateur during such a difficult time that the catering industry is going through. It won't be easy, keep your fingers crossed. Come back in 1-2 months and see how things develop. Best regards K.S

We were here for dinner. We're not sure what went wrong here, but unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable. The waitress (probably the owner) tried hard, but unfortunately she only spoke our language very brokenly and we had to order using numbers. The new service, on the other hand, is very friendly and attentive. That doesn't feel that great given the price level and you would expect more here. The water bottle and two glasses were simply placed on the table and not poured. The starter salad was dressed with a ready-made sauce and tasted ok. The cordon bleu was a convenience product and tasteless. Unfortunately a no-go for over €20. The vegetarian grill plate consisted mostly of just peppers smeared with an inedible garlic sauce that my wife had to scrape down. We love garlic, but unfortunately this was inedible. For €18 (vegetable plate) we would have expected much more. We thought nothing could go wrong with an ice cream order and the evening could be saved somehow. Unfortunately, the two sundaes were the opposite of the crowning glory. Convenience at its finest with a careless sideboard and collapsed ready-made spray cream for just under €7 per cup. The cup of vanilla ice cream with hot raspberries was a mush with a huge wad of cream on top. A two year old would have done better. The service was friendly, although rarely seen. We wanted to have our food packed, but unfortunately the tzatziki and salad were forgotten. We won't be coming back and unfortunately we can't recommend the restaurant and can't understand the good reviews. We can't say anything about the hotel.

Lammkeule mit Bohnen lecker, Krautsalat vorher etwas essiglastig. Grillteller Krone auch gut. Speisenpreise i.O. Flaschenweine zu teuer. Biergarten gepflegt und einladend. Hoffentlich bleibt es so wie es anfängt...
