A lovely hotel with incredibly attentive staff. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good, and special requests are catered for immediately, but the in-house restaurant deserves special mention. It's world-class. I've rarely eaten so well (especially for this price). All in all, highly recommended. P.S. They even sent me my forgotten charger. What service. Thank you very much, and I'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, fraud. I booked a room for €160 on Booking.com. However, the Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in Basel this weekend and the hosts have clearly missed the fact that they can make more money from the room. Despite booking confirmation and a note from Booking that everything was done correctly, the hotel continued to demand that I cancel and get the room for €800! book a new one (i.e. five times the price). The old price was blamed on a “system error”.

Après une balade au bord du Vieux Rhin, en partant du barrage germano-français, nous sommes allés mangé à ce restaurant grec situé sur la route principale de Märkt. La carte est on ne peut plus fournie, des pages de recettes plus alléchantes les une que les autres. J'ai commandé le 79 : Bifteki gratiné de viande hachée mixte, fourré au fromage de brebis, sauce Metaxa + Tranches de pommes de terre et salade d'accompagnement. Pour l'apéro, on nous a offert un verre d'Ouzo en plus de ce que nous avions commandé. La salade était très bonne et rafraichissante. Le repas était vraiment copieux et excellent. Le service était sobre et sympathique. Je vous recommande cette adresse.

Today we were in the restaurant without a hotel, there is also a garden restaurant outside in summer. It is a cozy guest room with comfortable upholstered chairs and very attentive and friendly staff. There is a wide selection of delicious dishes and desserts. Hat prima gestartet, mittlerweile mittagstisch ausgebucht. leider hat die qualität sehr gelitten. hatte dorfteller, das schweinesteak war hauchdünne trockene tielkühlware und der gyros stark verbrannt ! auch die bratkartoffeln sind nicht mehr von der ursprünlichen qualität sondern deutlich keiner und trocken. schade !!! war unser letzter besuch !!!!!

Good day, I travel a lot and stay in hotels a lot. I am delighted with this hotel, it is clean and tidy, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, nice surroundings for a walk, near the river Rhine and you can cross the bridge to France, shops are not far away. By the way, even large buses and coaches can be accommodated in the parking lot, so I can safely recommend this hotel!!

Staff very friendly and attentive. Food very tasty, meat juicy, nice smoky aroma, fried potatoes nice and crispy. Salad nice, salad dressing unfortunately a bit watery. Dessert was also ok, although I wouldn't use the figs anymore, no taste, maybe they weren't ripe enough. Overall, we (6 people) enjoyed it and we will definitely come back

Great Greek restaurant at fair prices. We had dinner with the family and were pleasantly surprised, as there are one or two negative reviews here. We received a very friendly welcome and excellent service throughout, even though the restaurant was fully booked. We had a starter platter and 3 different dishes and 2 children's dishes for the main course. All dishes were very tasty and more than sufficient. The lamb shank was worth highlighting; almost no knife was needed here. We found the prices to be absolutely fair, especially when you look at what other Greek restaurants charge.

Die Wartezeiten waren angenehm kurz, obwohl das Restaurant gut besucht war. Zusammenfassend kann ich das Restaurant Krone in Märkt nur wärmstens empfehlen. Wer auf der Suche nach authentischer griechischer Küche und einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre ist, wird hier auf jeden Fall fündig. Ein Muss für alle Liebhaber der griechischen Küche!

Good food (ready cordon bleu) Service rather messed up

On Saturday evening we visited the beer garden, which we appreciate as being beautifully located in summer. There has been a new tenant for about 3 months who specializes in Greek cuisine. The menu is huge, so you wonder how this could be possible with fresh items. The salad tastes like it came from a can, both the ingredients and the salad dressing seem to be of very cheap quality, but large (if you like it). Likewise the gyros plate with potato slices - this is a large portion, but simple in terms of quality and taste. Both plates cost just under 20 euros each. The waitress barely speaks German (and no Greek), which is fine with us, we managed well in English. However, the entire service was unprofessional and overwhelmed. I hope that the Krone team will take the feedback constructively and maybe we'll try again next summer if the tenant is still there by then...

Nice beer garden and delicious food. Rooms are already showing their age. We couldn't get breakfast. No bakery or possibility to get a coffee in the morning.

I tried moussaka and baklava, two special dishes which seemed very well cooked and not like in some other restaurants where nothing is prepared by yourself. Excellent service and very polite staff. can't wait to go back again to try other foods...congratulations👏

The food was tasty, the prices were average and the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff is friendly, but very rude. Very long waiting times… you wait 30 minutes just to get a card. If you want to eat here you definitely have to have a lot of time and patience. Special requests such as potato slices instead of tomato rice could also NOT be implemented. Somehow the staff just doesn't have it together yet. It takes ages until you can order, ages until the food comes and the bill also takes at least 30 minutes to arrive. Despite the friendliness, you don't really feel welcome. Nevertheless, the food tastes delicious. We didn't get any stomach pains either, only my husband was very thirsty that night and had to drink several bottles of water. But it was tasty, you can't say anything about it.

Just awful. It's been with a new tenant since the beginning of July and it's an absolute disaster. We were still able to laugh about the chaos, the overwhelmed staff and the lack of German language skills. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing and completely demotivated and disinterested family members of the owners were on duty. Taking orders without a menu and appetizers without cutlery were also an interesting type of service. Some people left without having accomplished anything because they simply weren't served. Really a bizarre show the whole thing. But when my son's chicken nuggets (which he had already eaten) turned out to be completely raw inside, we couldn't help but laugh. The absolute real life Frank Rosin episode. The restaurant won't last a year. Completely wrong!

Mr Tafani's service is heart-warming. We stayed here twice on the way to and back from Italy. Excellent location just off the highway. A very nice garden/terrace for a nice meal or a beer in the evening.

Greece in markets. We were there on Saturday lunchtime, alone in the beer garden. According to the sign outside, warm food from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Somehow there were internal problems or organizational complications. Unfortunately, the menu didn't appeal to us, the selection was far too large, freshness was probably a priority. We were looking forward to the perch fillet, unfortunately this is no longer available. Food below average, we couldn't recognize any creativity (it's a copy paste menu), garlic was annoying, potato slices smelled like fish. Will probably be prepared in the same without notice. Prices are not that cheap for the quality you get. Large portions. There are good Greeks not far away. After a short conversation with the host, it turned out that he was not from Greece. 1 star is given for the courageous decision to become self-employed as a restaurateur during such a difficult time that the catering industry is going through. It won't be easy, keep your fingers crossed. Come back in 1-2 months and see how things develop. Best regards K.S

We were here for dinner. We're not sure what went wrong here, but unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable. The waitress (probably the owner) tried hard, but unfortunately she only spoke our language very brokenly and we had to order using numbers. The new service, on the other hand, is very friendly and attentive. That doesn't feel that great given the price level and you would expect more here. The water bottle and two glasses were simply placed on the table and not poured. The starter salad was dressed with a ready-made sauce and tasted ok. The cordon bleu was a convenience product and tasteless. Unfortunately a no-go for over €20. The vegetarian grill plate consisted mostly of just peppers smeared with an inedible garlic sauce that my wife had to scrape down. We love garlic, but unfortunately this was inedible. For €18 (vegetable plate) we would have expected much more. We thought nothing could go wrong with an ice cream order and the evening could be saved somehow. Unfortunately, the two sundaes were the opposite of the crowning glory. Convenience at its finest with a careless sideboard and collapsed ready-made spray cream for just under €7 per cup. The cup of vanilla ice cream with hot raspberries was a mush with a huge wad of cream on top. A two year old would have done better. The service was friendly, although rarely seen. We wanted to have our food packed, but unfortunately the tzatziki and salad were forgotten. We won't be coming back and unfortunately we can't recommend the restaurant and can't understand the good reviews. We can't say anything about the hotel.

Lammkeule mit Bohnen lecker, Krautsalat vorher etwas essiglastig. Grillteller Krone auch gut. Speisenpreise i.O. Flaschenweine zu teuer. Biergarten gepflegt und einladend. Hoffentlich bleibt es so wie es anfängt...

We were there for dinner by chance. The inn immediately promised us the parking space from the outside. I haven't had such tasty and hot fries in a long time. The schnitzel was also super tender. My wife really liked the wine. The service was very friendly and nice. We'd love to come back.

Wir haben beruflich im Gasthaus Krone übernachtet und können die schlechten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt, hatten ein sehr großes Zimmer. Okay an der Dusche war noch ein Duschvorhang, aber dafür ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in diesem Haus sehr gut. Am Abend haben wir im Restaurant ausgezeichnet gegessen und auch das Frühstück, insbesondere der Kaffee, war top. Es ist alles sehr sauber und alle Mitarbeiter waren ausgesprochen freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit in der Krone Märkt gefeiert und es war atemberaubend. Super Atmosphäre, grandioses Essen und alle bekamen es gleichzeitig warm wie man es sich wünscht. Den einen Stern gibt es für die Lage und die Einrichtung des Restaurants, den zweiten Stern für die Bedienung (Chefin). Die Beschreibung der gehobenen Küche kann ich nicht teilen. Wir sind z.K. Restaurantgänger. Ein Cordon Bleu mit dem Gewürz "Rosmarie" ist in einer deutschen Küche fehl am Platz. Ich musste den Großteil des Fleisches stehen lassen und meine Frau konnte es nach dem Probieren nicht mal schlucken. Die Preise sind etwas zu hoch angesetzt. Dem Chef kann ich nur raten, auf Kritik einzugehen, und nicht -wie getan- frech zu antworten. Ein Gast hat geschrieben, nicht wir sind auf ihn angewiesen, sondern er auf die Gäste. Wenn er diese Einstellung nich ändert, sehe ich keine rosige Zukunft in diesem schwer gewordenen Gewerbe. Der Gast ist König nicht der Besitzer! Und einiges Geschriebene von Gästen stimmt leider. Und übrigens: wir sind nicht von der Konkurenz, sondern möchten helfen. Wir wünschen ihm dies. Und sieh da,der Chef hat wieder unqualifiziert geantwortet. Wenn er nur ein bisschen Anstand seiner Frau hätte, wäre es gut. Mit seiner Ausdrucksweise verliert er jegliche Respekt. Wenn er ein Chef wäre, hätte er nach dem Grund gefragt, warum zwei Drittel des Cordon Bleu auf dem Teller blieb. Aber er beschimpfte mich, mit anderen unter einem Hut zu stecken,um ihn schlecht zu machen. Dabei waren wir zum 1. Mal dort und kennen keinen anderen Menschen, der auch schon dort war! Ein solch arroganter Mensch nennt sich Chef eine deutschen Restaurants. Weiter so.......m

Fantastic!! Due to issues, I needed somewhere to stay from 10am to following morning and was lucky enough to come across this gasthaus. They have been so accommodating, specially preparing me a room. 'So' helpful and turning a rotten day into one that was very enjoyable and memorable.

Als wir ankamen war niemand zugegen, die Tür war zwar offen, aber es war niemand da, der uns ein Zimmer zuweisen konnte. Nach etlichen Versuchen, die so ca. 1 Stunde dauerte, konnten wir dann doch endlich den Chef telefonisch erreichen. Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich. Wirklich nett war das Frühstück, das uns von einer sehr freundlichen Dame serviert wurde und uns sehr versöhnt hat. Wenn wir wieder hinfahren, dann werden wir vorher genau abklären was wir tun sollen, um dann gleich ins Zimmer zu kommen.

- Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht. Nicht gerade günstig für die Qualität und die Portion. Essen war nicht so besonders. + Parkplätze direkt nebenan + freundlicher Service + keine langen Wartezeiten
