OSCAR BAKLAVA in Weil am Rhein

Fantastischer Service, fantastisches Essen und ein fantastisches Dessert!

Heute habe ich mir eine gemischte Baklava-Packung gemacht, weil ich schwanger bin und so einen Heißhunger darauf hatte. Leider war sie so altbacken, dass ich alles wegwerfen musste. Ich bin so enttäuscht! 30 CHF verschwendet! Was für eine Verschwendung!

Das Baklava war viel zu klebrig und wirkte nicht frisch. Es blieb an den Daumen und Fingern hängen und war dadurch unangenehm zu essen. Für mich leider keine gute Qualität. Schade.

Ich habe ein zweites Exemplar gekauft, aber dieses war nicht frisch, es waren Haare darin und es roch widerlich; es war ungenießbar. Ich würde es nie wieder kaufen.

Bis gestern bin ich immer wieder gerne zu Oscar Baklava gegangen. Dieses Mal bin ich mit meinen Freunden gekommen und habe ihnen das Restaurant empfohlen – das Ergebnis war leider eine Enttäuschung. Da ich mein Essen nicht aufgegessen habe, wollte ich es mitnehmen und habe dem Kellner gesagt: „Bitte einpacken.“ Zwei Minuten später kam er mit zwei Behältern zurück und meinte, wir müssten das Essen selbst einpacken. Auf meine Nachfrage hin sagte er nur, dass der Chef das so möchte. Das Personal könnte auf jeden Fall höflicher sein! Und das Baklava ist auch nicht mehr wie früher. Ich hatte es vor zwei Wochen gekauft, aber der Geschmack war ganz anders – es hat überhaupt nicht mehr nach Baklava geschmeckt. Es war wirklich nicht gut. Eigentlich hatten wir vor, in den nächsten Tagen zum Frühstück zu kommen, aber jetzt haben wir gemerkt, dass wir uns das gut überlegen müssen!

Ich habe alle 40 Jahre mal richtig Lust auf Baklava, und das hier ist eine totale Enttäuschung. Das Baklava ist nicht geschichtet, sondern nur Teig. Im Pistazien-Baklava sind gar keine Pistazien. Vielleicht wurden ein paar reingestreut, aber wahrscheinlich sind es iranische Pistazien, und man schmeckt sie überhaupt nicht. Im Söbiyet (einer türkischen Gebäcksorte) sind auch gar keine Pistazien; nur ein winziges bisschen am Rand. Die Butter schmeckt komisch. Früher haben wir das öfter gekauft, und da war es gar nicht so schlecht, aber jetzt haben sie es echt vermasselt. Ich will ja nichts Schlechtes über das Essen sagen, aber der Geschmack ist einfach nur schlecht. Ich hoffe, ihr bessert euch. Der Baklava-Laden in Mannheim ist sehr berühmt; vielleicht verkauft ihr es teurer, aber es sollte doch nicht so schwer sein, es genauso gut hinzubekommen. Ich bestelle ab jetzt lieber in der Türkei; das ist besser.

Die Künefe hat sehr gut geschmeckt, aber leider gab es kein Kaymak. Baklava war auch gut.

Ein hervorragendes Restaurant! Das Essen war perfekt zubereitet; ich bin sprachlos angesichts des Börek und des Poacha, und das Pide war einfach himmlisch. Der Service war erstklassig, die Mitarbeiter aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant war blitzsauber! Absolut nichts zu beanstanden.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sevda ist eine unglaublich freundliche und aufmerksame Kellnerin. Sie begrüsst die Gäste immer mit einem Lächeln und sorgt dafür, dass man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Der Service war schnell, herzlich und sehr professionell. Das Essen im Oscar Restaurant ist sehr, sehr fein, geschmacklich hervorragend und wunderschön angerichtet. Dank Sevda und der tollen Küche war unser Besuch etwas ganz Besonderes. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder absolute Empfehlung.

Wir gehen schon seit Jahren als vierköpfige Familie regelmässig hier Frühstücken. Leider wenn ich die Preisentwicklung der letzten 3-4 Jahren anschaue, finde ich die Preise nicht mehr verhältnismässig, dass Frühstück 18 Euro und ein Poulet am Spiess oder Adana-Kebap gleich teuer sind, ist schon fraglich. Das wars leider, nie mehr. Für 70 Euro kann ich auch gemütlich zu Hause auf meiner Terrasse frühstücken.

Believe me, there's no such thing as delicious food. The food is amazing with our family. This is our first time here. From now on, this is our place to eat. Especially the lahmacun is Antep style. Everything is delicious. Highly recommended.

The price/performance ratio is very poor. ​Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of our expectations. We paid 20 \text{ Euro} for 6 baklavas and 2 teas. Frankly, this price tag is quite high, even for a dessert shop in a European city like Germany. It doesn't make sense that 3 small baklavas cost 8 \text{ Euro}. This is the same price as a very large portion of döner kebab (8 \text{ Euro}). The pricing policy definitely doesn't reflect the quality and quantity of the product offered. ​Service Quality: The attentiveness and professionalism of the service staff were also not at the level we expected. While the restaurant tries to project a luxurious image, the service unfortunately doesn't match this image. ​Conclusion: I believe the prices are excessively inflated, given the advantage of being close to the Swiss border. This high pricing policy will drive away customers and locals in the long run. Four of us went there for breakfast yesterday. I ordered the breakfast menu with egg – for €18, I honestly expected a bit more. There was only one egg in the pan, which is really disappointing considering the price. The others at the table had ordered "Menemen" and received significantly larger portions. Unfortunately, the value for money here is completely out of whack, which is a real shame.

Extremely overpriced, baklava and c.o. did not taste good, very dry

A 25.5 Euro account is charged 30 CHF. When asked why, "That's how it is with us." In short, they assumed a policy of "if it suits their interests." Is this even possible? My husband bought baklava yesterday and had it packaged. He asked for cold baklava and small slices of baklava. Tell the staff that cold baklava and regular baklava should not be put in the same package. It didn't taste good either, it was sugary, both our money and the baklava were wasted, you ruined my Sunday fun!!!

We went for dessert, there was no problem with the service but the baklava was very stale and dry and the pistachio was of very low quality, the Kunefe was made instantly but we did not like it at all, I would not choose it for dessert again.

Where we got our food, we had to leave after 5 minutes because the store closed, even though there were still a lot of people inside who were just getting their food. We had to pay for food we couldn't eat. A very bad store with shady staff. Never again.

I deducted one point for the ambiance, but that shouldn't be overstated. When "Oscar Baklava" is busy, it can be loud, and people sit very close together. We had a truly delicious meal there for the second time and were simply thrilled. As far as I can tell, the food is freshly prepared. The salads, which are always important to me, were fresh. The staff is friendly and attentive to guests' wishes. We'll be happy to come back if we're ever in the area again.

I have had such an uncomfortable experience in very few businesses in Germany. The attitude of the cashier was unpleasant and I wanted to pay by card, but they said that it was not possible to pay by card. The payment was calculated with a simple calculator and no receipt was given. This situation felt like a conscious choice to evade tax. I can understand paying in advance, but not giving a receipt is unacceptable. Also, your prices are quite exorbitant. This kind of service is unacceptable

They charge 30 euros for 1 kilo of baklava and they sell it as pistachio baklava, which has absolutely no pistachios in it, but I don't know what's in it because it doesn't taste like pistachios at all. It's definitely a place to stay away from.

In my opinion, Oscar Baklava isn't what it used to be. The only thing that's still good is the service and attentive staff. The food and the ambiance aren't inviting.

We are staying at Weil, we bought Dessert 3 times, they gave us Stale Dessert every time we bought it, the day we went again, we complained and the owner said, give me the money for it and send it back. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone ever again.

Neither the peanuts taste like peanuts nor the dessert tastes so sweet (there was also a tongue in the green painted areas, 600 grams in total) they charged 27 euros for the dessert, it's really a shame.

AWAY, One of the worst restaurants I've been to! Bland dishes, hard and disgusting old bread, the staff I don't even dare talk about.. Very good baklava and kunefe but expensive

I recently visited this restaurant and was one of the first guests. Mostly Turkish guests came after us. Despite our early order, we were the last to be served. The food was substandard and absolutely not worth the price. I found it particularly disappointing that we were the last to be served because of our background. I've been eating breakfast at oscar for years, everything used to be extremely tasty and prepared with love. For the last 1-2 months it's just been a disaster. It's just like soup. Tomatoes haven't ripened properly and the meat just doesn't taste like anything, it's a shame!!! Arrived at 8:00 and wasn't served until 8:30. Hopefully things will change in the future. Oscar Kahvalti & Baklava is truly a highlight of a Turkish breakfast experience. The service is remarkably quick and friendly, you immediately feel welcome and cared for. The dishes – from soup to menemen to pide – were all freshly and deliciously prepared. Particularly noteworthy are the baklavas, which taste exceptionally good. Compared to other breakfast restaurants in Weil am Rhein, Oscar Kahvalti & Baklava is the best for me. If you are looking for an authentic and high quality Turkish breakfast, I can heartily recommend this place.

First of all, we ordered meatloaf, mixed grill plate and baklava. It was more delicious than we expected. The waiter took great care of our order. This is the first time we have found a business that responds to such special requests. We are very pleased and now we have a restaurant that we will visit every time we visit. I give 2 stars for service and atmosphere You can eat your meal while fighting the flies. Having air conditioning in the workplace is not a problem. We ate well the service is there only small b soft when paying no credit card just cash and reported nowhere for this reason I will not return there.

Even at the entrance there was no hello or anything. We were looked at as if we were unwanted. We had Adana Kebap on yogurt sauce with bulgur and my wife with fries. First, the salad. It tasted old and sticky. The bread was hard and I assume it was in the oven too long. About Adana: The meat didn't taste freshly prepared. As if it had already been fried, put it on the side and then warmed it up in the microwave. The yogurt sauce was very watery and the tomato sauce was just as thin. Bulgur was good. The fries were a complete disaster. They were fried, cooled and then heated in the microwave. There was no ketchup with it. We had to ask specifically. The order also took a long time even though it was very empty. Many of the sweet dishes on the menu were no longer available. Another big point of criticism: no card payments possible (you can imagine why). I won't be coming here again, which I think is a shame.

We went there for breakfast and the breakfast used to be really good. When you walk towards the toilet, you see the trays already lying on trolleys and the trays are not being washed properly. We traveled 150 km to buy fresh baklava. We bought incredibly bad stale baklava. I definitely do not recommend it. It's a waste of your money. People think a little bit and wonder if people will not understand if you gave them stale baklava. I will definitely direct neither myself nor anyone around me to this place again. In a word, not even 1 Euro will be paid for your products.
