Gasthaus Iberg in Heilbad Heiligenstadt

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while searching Google Maps. What a lucky find 🥰 We initially sat outside and enjoyed a fantastic view. When it got too chilly, we were able to easily move inside. The decor seems to have stood still. But that wasn't a problem for us at all, because we received super friendly and courteous service! The food is solid, and we were extremely satisfied with everything. We highly recommend it. Please note that card payments weren't possible today, at least. If we're on vacation here again, we'd definitely be happy to come back! :)

Very friendly welcome, menu straightforward but good, traditional German fare, prices OK, food delicious, great rustic ambiance, we'll be back if it works out.

Time seems to stand still here, and you feel like you've stepped back into a GDR restaurant. They serve simple, delicious home-style cooking, accompanied by a cold beer and a wonderful view. The service is prompt and friendly, and the prices are moderate, although they have increased somewhat. In any case, it's great that the restaurant is still going strong; many places in Heiligenstadt have closed. We love coming here.

It's just a simple restaurant with a small menu, decent service, and decent food. Nice, shady outdoor seating.

A gem in the middle of the forest

If you feel hungry or thirsty on the hike on Iberg, you can take a break here and get simple regional dishes. The innkeeper Micha looks after the guests very nicely during the day, and for the expanded evening menu from 5 p.m. he gets support in the kitchen so that everything runs smoothly and courteously. Inside it has been kept rustic and outside you can sit in the shade under the trees. We recommend making a reservation for the evening as it is always busy here.

The Gasthaus Iberg is beautifully located and offers a wonderful view of Heiligenstadt. I love coming up here and enjoying the delicious food - all homemade, of course. Just great.

Visited again after over 30 years, and apparently little has changed, which is a good thing. 👍

9/12/2023How nice to even find something like that. All hiking trip inns are closed. We got coffee, cake and a glass of champagne and if it were near us, we would definitely eat there too ‼️ That wasn't our last stay there. Sitting under old linden trees. Please stay.

Freundliche Bewirtung mit sehr soliden Preisen !!!

Es war wie immer sehr schön, gemütlich und lecker. Wir hatten einen Spaziergang durch den schönen Ibergswald über den Birkenweg gemacht und wollten anschließend auf das Iberghaus, um dort einzukehren. Sehr positiv zu bemerken ist, daß es Montags geöffnet hat, sogar bis 24Uhr. Ich bin gerne in diesem Gasthaus, weil es schöne Kindheitserinnerungen in mir weckt, es in der Natur umgeben vom Iberg liegt. Mir gefällt das gewisse, alte Flair und die rustikale noch alte Einrichtung. Auch die Speisekarte bietet leckere Gerichte die sich in Grenzen halten, aber völlig ausreichend und sättigend sind und vom Geldbeutel bezahlbar sind.

Ein schönes Ausflugsziel in einer wunderschönen Lage. Trotz Feier einer geschlossenen Gesellschaft, hat sich der Wirt die Mühe gemacht uns ein Getränk zu servieren. Ein sehr guter Service. Gerne kommen wir zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt noch mal wieder.

I Berg gabs schon zu meiner Kindheit als Ausflugsziel.Es gab Waldmeisterlimo und Bockwurst und Spielplatz.Das war vor 65 Jahren.Dieses Jahr haben wir es genauso schön vorgefunden.Gutes Essen und nette Wirtsleute.Zu jeder Zeit wieder.Wohne nur etwas weit entfernt im Erzgebirge.

So wunderbar sitztan sonst selten. Große Linden, frisch gezapftes Bier, die besten Bockwürste. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Gemütliche Athmosphäre, Essen,Preise,Bedienung ok.

Nach einer langen Wanderung über den Dün, den Neun Brunnen und den Iberg sind wur hier angekommen und haben ein warmes gemütliches Plätzchen gefunden um die müden Knochen auszuruhen und den Bauch mit leckeren Speisen zu füllen. Ein Käffchen dabei und alle waren sehr zufrieden. Hier hatten wir einen gelungenen Tagesabschluss. Wir kommen gern hier her.
