We highly recommend this restaurant; the food is excellent and truly worth the price, the service is friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is original. We'd go back anytime.

Today, Sunday, we were outside in the beautiful playground with the 4 children, as the weather was great. We've known the Hoffgut Maxau for many years, we've never had a real restaurateur at the helm, and unfortunately there isn't one now, which is a shame, the location is just beautiful. There are countless tables prepared outside and only 3 tables are served, apparently because only the 3 tables have a QR code, outside there was a tarte flambée, 1 lady alone who no longer knew what and how with 1 tiny oven and 30 people who had to wait 2 hours for a tarte flambée, we were told that everything should go much faster inside, so we went inside, asked for 1 table, got 1 table, we were told that at least the drinks inside too It would take 30 minutes, food would take a while longer... well with 2 waitresses and a chaos concept it can't go well... We have no problem with self-service or anyone there, but walk from table to table with 4 children who want to eat and drink something and in the end you get nothing because everything is just chaotic. You don't have to reinvent gastronomy, just imitate what the big ones do and that's enough. Good luck anyway.

Here you can spend great time with children. A very large playground, farm shop with its own products, a fine restaurant, stalls with crepes, coffee or mulled wine. Nice view of the Rhine.

We had one Piece of cake and coffee. You can get everything here in the form of self-service, the staff is very welcoming! Unfortunately there is no possibility to change babies in the outside toilets, but we were openly and kindly invited to change diapers directly in the small indoor area of ​​the farm shop. So it wasn't a problem! The playground and the great location right on the Rhine are great! We'd love to come back!

Attentive, good service, nice little restaurant, chic furnishings (rather old-fashioned with flair and modern in the right places, for example the lighting), parking spaces in front of the house and exceptionally good food quality - we had a salad as a starter, my wife had the dumplings with sauce and I had the rump steak. The quality of the meat was great, it was cooked to perfection and the fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I highly recommend it and we will come again

A beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view of the water! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting – perfect for a lazy Sunday. Particularly noteworthy are the two waiters (whose names I forgot :-) sorry, on February 16th. were both present), who made the lunch even more pleasant with their friendliness and helpfulness. You can immediately tell that they enjoy their work - and that is directly transmitted to the guests! The restaurant is also ideal for families with children and dog owners. There is a child-friendly environment and four-legged friends are also welcome here. The food was an absolute delight! Especially the spinach dumplings with the Parmesan sauce – a real highlight! Thank you for the great lunch, we will definitely be back.

Here you can enjoy fine coffee and cake in the farm shop and buy your own products. In the restaurant you can dine very finely, friendly service, nice atmosphere. In winter I prefer a delicious crepe with coffee or mulled wine outside at the nice little houses.

Reserved a table via Google. When we arrived and wanted to have a drink, we were informed that you can only eat and not just drink. To do this you have to get something outside. When I looked around there wasn't a soul in the restaurant. You should correct your homepage and confirmation email to prevent errors. It's questionable whether we'll come again. Unpleasant service.

Six stars for the cake, one star for the coffee. The cake (rhubarb) was incredibly good but for the price of the coffee I expect more than from a fully automatic machine.

The location on the Rhine is very beautiful and ideal if you go for a walk there. The cake is very tasty. But I thought my cappuccino was very overpriced. Unfortunately the taste is not good and the price for a vending machine coffee is not justified. The staff is very nice and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at this farm! The location is idyllic, the surrounding nature invites you to explore. The children's playground is well equipped and kept our children busy for hours. The paths are well developed and are perfect for long walks. We were particularly thrilled by the great view of the ships passing by from the dike. The Hofgut offers a variety of delicious dishes and the staff was friendly and helpful at all times. We'd love to come back!

Actually 5 stars everywhere. We come in every season. A walk with your dog along the Rhine and then a cozy stop in autumn/winter or enjoy the great outdoor bar in spring/summer.

First class inn. There were eight of us here with two children. The waitresses were friendly and accommodating across the board. The menu is small but nice. I consider it a quality feature anyway. The ingredients are fresh and of high quality. The beef is from our own farm and tastes excellent. Our company thought it was excellent. I had the beef burger, which I highly recommend. In terms of price it's in the upper midfield, but given the quality it's absolutely fine. I recommend the convenience trash that is in most restaurants. is offered, no longer see it. A fantastic place to stop off. Beautiful in nature right on the Rehein. Great offer for children to play and run around too. There is something for everybody. There are stalls selling chips and crepes right next to the playground. A pretty farm shop and a cozy place to enjoy coffee and delicious cake. Surrounded by trees and flowers and umbrellas that provide shade. The restaurant also looks very inviting, although we haven't eaten there (yet). There is also a nice corner to sit and enjoy alcoholic drinks with pleasant music. We were very excited.

Wonderful place right on the Rhine and an oasis of relaxation. The service in the inn is professional, very friendly and responds to your wishes. The food tastes very tasty. Afterwards, a small regional court museum opposite invites you to visit. Or a walk through meadows - or simply along the Rhine or simply watching the children romp around in the large playground. The drinks and food stalls around the inn leave nothing to be desired for snacks in between. An ideal place for a few hours of time out.

We celebrated our company summer party in June 2024 with over 100 adults and many children. Wonderful ambience, many different seating options and lounges, best service, there was a barbecue and there was a rich buffet, everything was very tasty. The large water playground thrilled the children. You can party late into the night as there are no neighbors to disturb you. We'll be back!!

The food is so delicious that even the most calorie-conscious scales at home will jump for joy. The waiters are so friendly that you almost expect them to personally serve you the smile on your plate. The place itself? Simply wonderful! You can sit there so comfortably that you almost forget to get up again. There are plenty of parking spaces - no one has to fight for the last available space here. And the Rhine is so close that you could almost believe it was a personal invitation from nature. In short: a visit to Hofgut Maxau is like a short vacation - only without packing your suitcase. Beautiful place for a little break located directly on the beautiful Rhine. There's good cake and coffee in the farm shop, you can sit outside in a nice atmosphere and enjoy. Likewise in the restaurant, beautiful surroundings and good food. With children you can spend time in the playground, and it is also wonderful to sit on the seats right by the water. It feels like a day of vacation.

Very tastefully decorated restaurant. The accompanying playground is great! The food was tasty, but the portions were rather small. For the high prices there could be a little more on the plate, especially for the children. Our 3 year old son couldn't get enough of the children's meal (1 dumpling and sauce) for €8. I think 2 dumplings would be appropriate here. By the way, we adults didn't get enough either.

I don't understand why you are turned away during normal opening hours when the terrace is half full. Then you should also remove the advertising displays with references to catering and point directly to the snack bars in front of the farm. What's interesting is that we ate at the not-so-great snack bars and an hour later only the remaining guests from before were still sitting there, right in the middle of your opening hours. However, I know from my partner that your food is good. And our neighbor's company always holds a company party at your place. But apparently you don't need any more sales.

Parking in front of the inn without any problems. In summer you can sit outside. Inn itself well furnished. The staff is good, the price of the food is high, so you expect quality. In some cases, finished goods are used. Some of the taste is okay. There were no wines on the menu, you can order at least three types of spritzer. Would I stop there again, perhaps in the summer when I would be on the Rhine, although there are better options nearby, in Germany and in nearby Alsace.
