Café Bleu in Karlsruhe

Café Bleu is always worth a visit for me. It's also a great place to spend time alone. Especially on a Sunday, the café, combined with the Nottingham complex, has a very nice feel. The food is worth the price and I enjoyed it. I especially highly recommend the Kaiserschmarrn with cherry sauce (depending on where you stay). All in all, definitely worth a visit!

...came across the blue café while searching Google for a breakfast option with nearby parking... We both went for the "France Hammer," which turned out to be truly amazing! A hot drink called a latte arrived lukewarm in a Lavazza cup... I'm guessing the famous coffee roaster from bella Italia wouldn't be amused if he knew what kind of liquid was being served in his name?! ... Well, the second surprise followed immediately: A pastry called a croissant graced the breakfast plate. My guess: it had probably been taken out of the freezer and was allowed to thaw in peace for several days... That's certainly how it felt in my mouth! This little gem probably hasn't seen the inside of an oven 🤔 ...the scrambled eggs were bland, the salami was too fatty, and the muesli consisted of soggy cereal camouflaged with G&G strawberry-flavored yogurt. It's a shame that there's nothing more positive to say about a place like this with its appealing enamel sign flair 🤷...except that the Hoepfner Pils and the blackcurrant spritzer were nice and cold, and the Hanuta was also excellent...

I ACTUALLY enjoy coming here all the time, but I've been vegan/vegetarian for 7 years, and I was actually very disappointed. The reaction there was also rather unimpressed, so I decided to leave it alone. Here's my feedback: Since the Hammers can't be changed, you can only order designated products. There's a huge selection of affordable meals for meat eaters here, but all the designated vegetarian products are actually arranged in a really strange way, as if our tastes were different, instead of considering that we just don't eat meat. For example, at the Hammer 3 (classic), why isn't that also offered with a vegetable schnitzel? We can eat the potato fries too ^^!? Instead, advertised on the "regular menu": 1 vegetable schnitzel with salad and tzatziki (also non-changeable). Of course, ordering fries (an extra portion, because you can't change the dish) will incur an additional charge, as will the sauces. Alternative? See for yourself on the awesome menu included. Meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, as well as a vegan dish (there's exactly one - I personally don't find it appealing - it was a vegetable curry), are offered, but in my opinion, you should rethink or revise the concept a bit. Personally, I don't really feel welcome, and eating just spaetzle and salad at your place is unfortunately not an option either. Overall, it's always crowded here, but you tend to get seating. The team here is also very helpful and ensures that everything runs smoothly. I think the place is super beautiful, and the collection of signs completes the whole atmosphere. Prices are ACTUALLY unbeatable. Not so much when putting it together. Today, Café Bleu was better. The food, Hammer 3, was too salty. Frozen food... The service was better, friendlier, and faster than usual. It was due to the time of day. Around 1:30 p.m. It was very quiet and extremely pleasant, with significantly fewer customers.

Nice outside area. Cheap food for students and everyone else. Reservations by telephone are recommended. Otherwise you'll be waiting for some time.

For having been going to Café Bleu for ages, we were totally disappointed today. Breakfast subpar, service subpar sorry don't like to write negative reviews.

Food was okay, for the price you can't complain. The waffles are not fresh. The atmosphere is very chic with lots of signs. Pretty crowded on Saturdays

I can highly recommend this. We go there often. Food is wonderful. Service is always friendly no matter who you are. The food always comes quite quickly. Not to forget the salad, which is always very fresh and wonderfully prepared.

I've known Cafe Bleu for 15 years. Here, you can enjoy a meal and a drink at reasonable prices in a cozy atmosphere. In addition to the regular menu, there are nine amazing meals for €8.50 each. I usually have the schnitzel with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes are more like fries. I always enjoy coming here. It's always busy. It's also suitable for a solo meal.

Been there several times and will always come back! Totally nice people, great atmosphere! The price of the food is amazing, I always enjoyed it. No matter whether it's breakfast (which you get all day), lunch or dinner (which you can order at 10 in the morning!!!) Of course, if you're expecting an upscale restaurant, go somewhere else.

We spontaneously stopped by Café Bleu after the show at the Sandkorn Theater. Super fast and friendly service, food open until 11 p.m. (including breakfast), delicious home-cooked meals with local specialties, and a pleasant atmosphere. A great way to end a lovely evening.

Yes, it's a student bar where, before various crises, we could get our fill for €2.50, and now it costs more than double – but that's still cheap. And the so-called "Awesome" food has more selection than ever. So, don't feel blue about the Bleu. Go there and enjoy some cheap student food.

Nice little cafe with a great menu and plenty of choice. From breakfast to dinner, everything at fair prices. Something for everyone. Always my pleasure. Is very centrally located and still has a quiet location.

Been there again after a long time (I now live in SH). Equally good quality, good service...and there are always nice conversations.

The atmosphere there is great. However, the food is just cheap stuff from the deep fryer. Unfortunately, there's no cooking involved. Cheap is fine for a less affluent clientele, but it's better to pay more for something tasty. Fried potatoes from the deep fryer are completely unacceptable. Zim beer, though, is sufficient.

We went there for dinner today, and everything was absolutely fantastic, except for the fact that we discovered a dead mouse under the bench, which is so disgusting! That shouldn't happen!

I last ate here today for the second time in 9 years and I am very disappointed. I ordered a turkey schnitzel with salad and the schnitzel was 100% not fresh, but from the freezer. The salad was also so covered in dressing that it gave me a stomach ache. My girlfriend also didn't have a good experience with the potato hash browns, as they were almost certainly just ready-made. The price really reflects the quality. Almost too expensive for that. I somehow remembered my last visit better.

Quite nice to just have something to eat. Unfortunately the fries were pretty hard. The schnitzel was okay so far. It was a shame that you couldn't swap the side dish for the turkey schnitzel and so there was only the pork schnitzel with fries. The service was friendly. Some things you had to ask several times but you got everything.

Nice place. It's close to the city center, but in a small (relatively) quiet green area. Not the right place if you want to have a "particularly good" meal with your friends, but quite good to meet friends in a relaxed atmosphere and maybe have something to eat along the way. Since they have a “beer garden” you can meet up with friends there when the weather is nice. Even in bad weather, it's worth meeting up with friends at Café Bleu. The interior is very nicely done and various types of old signs hang on the walls. However, indoors is often full in bad weather. With a small group of up to four people you could still find a place, but you would need luck, patience or a reservation. So my conclusion: It's worth a visit to meet up with friends.

A great find! Within walking distance of our accommodation. Staff were so pleasant and helpful (and all spoke English) we visited on three consecutive nights. Food was well cooked, hot and portions very generous. Facilities were clean. Great atmosphere.

There is almost no alcohol in the cocktails. When you've been to the toilet, there's no paper to dry your hands with.

I love this shop, have been coming for years. The amazing food is simply amazing. Almost all of the service staff are very friendly and competent. The ambience inside is very cozy and inviting, with all the old enamel signs. The outdoor area is very beautiful and invites you to linger for a long time.

The sausage salad...you might think it was briefly soaked in vinegar and served. Not really tasty. The cheeseburger...the picture says it all. My Cordon Bleu cheapest frozen goods. It's a shame actually. Ordered 1 liter of beer and 3 glasses. One might assume we would want to split the beer. A beer mug to serve yourself...that's our idea. But there were 3 glasses and a quart of beer... hard to distribute. A quick hint and we would have ordered 0.3 liters each. Luckily, tastes are different. Good for Café Bleu.

Very nicely and comfortably furnished, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly; the way you like it. You might spend a few euros more there than at other places in Karlsruhe, but you still can't call it expensive. All in all very satisfied👍

Was there on Sunday with the family. Schnitzel for everyone! These are good even considering the low price. The bottom line is that the drink prices are fair. I don't understand some of the reviews - given the prices and the general situation, how naive do you have to be to expect mostly "home-cooked" food here? I think you can definitely tell here and there that someone has cooked. For example, the paprika sauce with the schnitzel is really good. The breading was okay too. Ambiance and service anyway. I always enjoy coming back here - it's unbeatable outside in the summer and also very rustic in the winter with the enamel signs. If you want better food, you pay more than twice as much in a restaurant. 80% of these restaurants want to offer more, but can't. I praise Bleu for its clear concept!

Von der früheren Kette ist das Café Bleu das einzigste welches das Erfolgskonzept, des Gründers beibehalten hat und damit sehr erfolgreich ist, deshalb eine klare Empfehlung und die verdienten ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ und ist legendär in Karlsruhe!
