Gasthaus Festsaal in Garrel

The waitress was talking very loudly to regular customers at the next table and across the store. It was very cold in the restaurant, so you got cold fingers. The comment that it was very loud was only answered succinctly... Only in an absolute emergency.

The hotel is located directly on the Thülsfeld dam and has a beautiful coffee garden facing the promenade. The furnishings in the rooms are a bit old, but the price/performance ratio is good. The breakfast is very good and rich. You're not really prepared for dinner, so you have to announce it well in advance.

A very nice restaurant, pleasant atmosphere. Food was okay. Kale was delicious but the fried potatoes with the fish were fried in old fat. Very questionable taste. The little health food store next to it is charming.

Got brutal food poisoning with multiple hospital stays.
