Frischehof Döpke in Garrel

Stopped in from Dortmund this afternoon. What chaos. High prices, cold fried potatoes for €24 with schnitzel was too expensive. With four people, my mom ordered plaice. She got her food 20 minutes later, by which time we were finished. As an apology, she was promised ice cream. It was a bubblegum ball of cheap vanilla ice cream. We couldn't believe it! We'll never set foot in the courtyard again. Have a nice Sunday.

We just had breakfast here again – great service, very friendly staff, and absolutely excellent value for money. I'd happily recommend it.

We were there for breakfast, ☕ everyone gets full

Disappointing. No preparation or effort was made for guests arriving to celebrate a special birthday. There were no water or glasses on the table, no cups for coffee, no plates, and no napkins, which I had to ask for. It was unacceptable. Confusion about who had ordered which drinks was confusing. When a party is booked, much more effort is needed to get people talking.

We just had lunch for the first time, and I highly recommend it. On Tuesdays, they serve stew to fill you up, and on Wednesdays, they always offer potato pancakes. They also have chanterelle mushrooms on the menu right now, which is a real recommendation 👍. The service is also excellent, and a nice touch is a service cube on the table. If you activate this, the waiter will come, so you don't have to wait long.

Very good food, absolutely child-friendly, pleasant atmosphere, and attentive service. Only the service could have been a bit more cheerful. We had the daily special and potato pancakes. Super good! Fresh, cooked and baked to perfection. There's a playground and play area for children, and there were things to draw while sitting down. We would love to come back.

Best strawberry sundae in the world.

Our first visit to Frische Hof Dopke was for coffee and cake, and a delicious, large slice of Schwarzwalder cake. Then, on Saturday evening, we attended the grill evening. You pay a starting price for salads, bread, and herb butter. You order meat (and vegetarian) in individual portions. Enjoy a variety of dishes and perhaps share them with your dinner companions. Enjoy a warm summer evening on the terrace in a beautiful setting with delicious food—what more could you ask for? We're fans, and today we went à la carte, and it was another pleasure :)

The RV pitches are very good, you can also walk your dog here, the food is excellent, and the staff is friendly. All in all, it was a lovely stay for us...we'd love to come back 👌🏼🥰🤗

It's just lovely here! I can recommend everything: the breakfast, the coffee and cake, the pies. We've even celebrated there. It's fantastic! Always friendly service, I can't say anything else. The farm shop is also really well-stocked, with a huge selection! Simply fantastic! We're always happy to come back!

We were at Döpke (Frische Hof) today, May 31, 2025, at lunchtime!!!!!! The food was a disgrace!!! My wife and I had chicken strips in curry sauce with rice! That's what we ordered! The staff weren't overwhelmed, they were just lazy! At some point, I started clearing the table! Then the food arrived!!! Imagine briefly seared pieces of unseasoned chicken!!! Canned cocktail fruit just poured over the top, and rice (cold). With the curry sauce, it didn't even have a hint of flavor! Zero salt, zero pepper, simply bland and unloving! We've been to Döpke many times, but today was definitely the last time!!!

We had a three-course asparagus menu. The asparagus came fresh from the farm. The ham, schnitzel, and tenderloin were delicious, and we finished with a strawberry dessert. Everything was delicious and plentiful.

We went to Döpke's for an asparagus dinner on Saturday, May 17, 2025, and left thrilled. Each dish contains plenty of asparagus (around 10-12 spears), the meat portions are equally generous, and at around €25 per plate, it's a value for money you won't find anywhere else at such a low price. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were served promptly and courteously, which further rounded off the excellent impression. We'll be happy to come back...thank you so much!

A farm shop to kneel down on! Very good strawberries. The asparagus salad and the potato salad are a revelation. That's why we're coming back! Fast, very friendly service in the restaurant with excellent asparagus toast.

Great selection, super tasty and large portions 👍 It has become one of my favorite places and no matter when we are here it is always nice 👍 The control cube is very nice and practical and also ensures a pleasant process 👍 The small, in-house market is not only sweet but also has a large selection of healthy and tasty things. 👍 The staff has a lot to do but still remains nice, friendly and finds time for their guests. 👍💞 Everything is good here and we keep coming back. 👍

Very nice service, food... well, the menu is very limited and nothing that blows your mind away. One meal was completely over-sweetened. During strawberry season I would have liked to have more strawberry dishes, like ice cream with strawberries and strawberries with cream or something like that. But nobody needs strawberry ice cream (or clouds) with flavors. Ambiance is very old-fashioned. There are lots of chairs outside, but unfortunately only for narrow people. Grandma couldn't even get her butt in there. Someone who is not yet operationally blind should take a look at one or two corners. Toilets were extremely clean, despite a lot of traffic. Price-performance in the restaurant was okay. The shop next door was pretty expensive.

The small asparagus buffet was very tasty, but you shouldn't make a reservation too late as not everything might be available later. The ambience of the farmer's barn reminded me of a canteen.

I can't say anything about the food or the quality... but the service leaves a lot to be desired. After my 0.3 Pilsner I had to ask twice. I had to wait a similar amount of time for the bill. Ambience could be nice... but the expressway ruins it all. One truck after another. I actually won't stop here again.

We went shopping here. There was an impressive selection of fruits, vegetables, spices, oils and so on. At very reasonable prices. There is also a fresh produce counter with cheese and a small bakery department. If we lived closer we would definitely be there more often.

Great playground with cable car and old tractor. There are a few goats and two ponies in the enclosure next to it. The kids had a lot of fun.

Frozen fish on Good Friday, despite the name Frischehof, a lot of frozen goods. So far, stew and applesauce were the only homemade things we could discover. The lunch menu can only be ordered until 2 p.m. at 2:20 p.m. and can no longer be ordered. Guest satisfaction is not a top priority here, which is why we won't be coming back. We then stopped trying cakes and tarts.

Beautiful CP location in the woods, but close to a road with a lot of traffic. We had no problem and slept well. Electricity costs 3 euros. Parking space 5 can be enjoyed there. We did not do that, so no stars. There is a shop where you can buy everything you need. It looks nice with horses in a meadow and you can also walk or cycle there a lot. There are toilets, but no other facilities.

The service was friendly and attentive, the asparagus buffet was reasonable and good for the price. But we've had better things elsewhere. The ambience was below average. Unfortunately the premises have no flair.

Stayed here for one night in the motorhome and had breakfast directly in the Frischehof the next morning. Very inexpensive, tasty and completely sufficient, there is even plenty of tea and coffee! Highly recommended!!😃👍🏻

Large breakfast buffet. The cereal was rancid. There was nowhere to put your dirty dishes. And the atmosphere was like a canteen. The selection of dishes was very good in terms of quality and quantity. The service polite. Good value for money.

The farm was recommended to us. The shop is nice, with a large selection. The restaurant is rustic and functionally furnished. It lacks a bit of coziness. The cakes are delicious. Reasonable price-performance ratio. Drawback: They want to be wheelchair accessible, so they plan wide doors and build a specially accessible restroom. But then they place the shelves in the shop so close together that it's difficult to get through with a walker and have to take detours because decorations and display stands block the way. The same applies to the restaurant. The tables in the restaurant are arranged so that, when in use, the paths are blocked by other guests' chairs. Despite a reservation for four people, the table assigned to us only had three chairs (which was bearable now that one person had canceled). There was not much staff, but there was a gadget on the table that allowed communication with the employees. Only when you press the button does the light come on, but nothing happens. I then paid at the counter and had to wait there again.

From fruit and vegetables to flour, meat, sausage products (there is also a fresh counter), cheese, eggs, etc. The prices are good value for money. There is also a restaurant here with a changing menu. Here you don't just get coffee and cake, but also something hearty. You simply have to be here.

We were there on New Year's Eve, it was very full. We had already ordered our table in September and said where we would like to sit. That was also promised to us, and we arrived and couldn't get the place. We got a place by the kitchen door , it was very restless. The food was okay, but they didn't really keep up with the refills. There were simply too many people registered, which I thought was a shame. And then the price was too expensive at 44.90 plus drinks. That's just my opinion for New Year's Eve.

A very nice restaurant, pleasant atmosphere. Food was okay. Kale was delicious but the fried potatoes with the fish were fried in old fat. Very questionable taste. The little health food store next to it is charming.

The farm shop at the front is quite nice, but unfortunately you have to go into the next building for the breakfast buffet and that is canteen style at its best. No ambience, the tables were so small that the teapot was on the floor and the two tables were directly at the buffet. This meant that our table was invaded from three sides. I had some butt near my head the whole time, we know that Grandma Erna has an ear infection and at least 6 people could stare at me on my cell phone. After 40 minutes we were fed up, and that for €22 per person

The food is tasty and plentiful, the service is in the very good upper segment, as it is of course a bit restless with the mass of guests. Only four stars for the ambience, the attached Hof Shop fulfills all wishes at quite high prices, all in all, definitely recommended!

There were 5 of us eating, all 5 dishes were cold and tasteless, the only taste there was was the hollandaise sauce. Pork schnitzel with no taste, the boiled potatoes tasted neither of potatoes nor of salt, and the asparagus was also tasteless. Broccoli in a broccoli chicken dish was not cooked through, and the spices were also kept away from this dish. There was a vegetable meatball that looked like organic waste scraped together and, like everything else, tasted like nothing but powder. Fried potatoes had the same taste as the boiled potatoes and looked very similar. The staff tried to be friendly, but were unconvinced about returning the food and tried to argue. We were told that the asparagus is only steamed when people complained about it being tasteless (no excuse not to use spices throughout the meal). However, the returned food was taken off the bill, which was a positive thing. Despite this, €22.90 for 4 half boiled potatoes, 12 pieces of asparagus, a vegetable meatball and hollandaise sauce (everything without spice or taste, and cold) is too much.

Mega delicious food. We had schnitzel with fried potatoes and egg, schnitzel with croquettes, kale with mega tender smoked pork and hot salt potatoes, pollack with super good fried potatoes and chicken nuggets with fries. The service was extremely friendly and gave the children something to paint with. Highly recommended and thank you to the kitchen for this great meal. Will definitely eat there again. We stop here every time on the way to the North Sea. There is a nice playground for the children and the shop offers refreshments and local specialties.

All the stars deserved. The apple pie was still warm and very tasty. You can also buy good regional products in the small shop. Unfortunately, the muesli, for example, was expired.

Well looked after, always! And always fresh food/cakes/drinks. Service friendly and quick, always happy again. In 2024 we will be going on autumn vacation for the fourth time and will always be guests several times. The farm shop is also an insider tip!

Of course, a lunch menu is always just a flash, but here at least it's a consistently positive one! Soup, neck steak with pepper sauce (with fresh pepper pieces!!) and fries, as well as curd dessert with fresh strawberries. Also included was the salad buffet with 7 or 8 different salads (not industrial ready-made products either, but our own preparation from fresh vegetables!!) And all of this for an extremely fair €12.60!! Sometimes a flash is enough to make a good impression!!
