We had a good starter soup but then we had to wait over an hour for the main course at the next table. The guests arrived later after us but they were served quickly. After complaining to the waiter I was told that we had had a starter and so we would have to wait over an hour for the main course. This is not understandable. They could have informed us beforehand, which is why I can only warn everyone to forgo the starter if they want the main course in normal times, even when it is busy.

We love eating here. It's very family-friendly and delicious.

You can enjoy excellent food and drinks to your heart's content. A lovely beer garden outside invites you to linger. The service is very good and friendly. 🫠👍👍👍

Whenever I'm craving excellent cuisine, I can be found here, usually on Sundays. Pacco and his team are committed to ensuring that upscale, home-style cooking isn't lost for me and my family. He loves what he creates in the kitchen, and you can feel it in every bite. You can order any dish from the menu without hesitation... because everything is always freshly cooked. You'll receive fast, comprehensive, competent, and friendly service... It's great that it still exists. A toast to the Swiss culinary arts, which crowns you, the guest, with its form and perfection, presented as the best "Kaiserschmarn" ever. Thank you Pacco and thanks to the entire team!

Very good food, very good service...great beer garden

The food in the restaurant was truly delicious and freshly prepared – nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the service significantly dampened the positive impression: The staff was extremely slow, orders were taken late, and the wait between courses was far too long. It's a shame, because the food would have earned a much higher rating if the service had kept pace. The outdoor chairs were very uncomfortable!

We ate there with friends, and I have to say the staff were really nice and polite, coming by every now and then to ask if we needed anything to drink or if everything was okay. It was busy, but the atmosphere was still good. We can only praise the food. They even had something for the kids to play with (we don't have kids anymore), but there were plenty of options. We'd love to go back. A really nice atmosphere for families and adults without children too. It won't be the last time we're there.

Very nice beer garden, perfect to combine with a bike tour

The food was okay overall, but the meat could have been prepared with a little more care—it wasn't quite cooked to perfection. I found the prices a bit too high for the quality offered. The service deserves special mention: The staff was friendly and attentive.

Definitely recommended; the service couldn't be better. The staff has been there for years, which says a lot about the working atmosphere, and that also benefits the guests. We come here often for dinner, and all the dishes are highly recommended.

Unfortunately, it was disappointing for us and the last time we ate here for a while. I had reserved a table in advance, but when we arrived, we were told we could choose our own seats. Beer is only available in 0.5-liter bottles. That was too much for my colleague, as it was hot and she would have preferred a small one. The appetizer salad wasn't washed properly and crunched when chewed. The dressing wasn't as tasty as usual. It was kind of watery. My husband's Cordon Bleu tasted bland. The Jägerschnitzel comes with a mushroom cream and dark sauce on the menu. Luckily, we ordered the sauce separately. It was tasteless and either straight from a packet or thickened with a lot of Mondamin. The mushroom cream sauce the schnitzels were served on was mushy, with some flour lumps in it, but it was okay. The mushrooms were probably frozen. It could have been much better. The schnitzels, which are already crispy thanks to the addition of panko breading, could also have been placed a little away from the mushroom mush to keep them crispy. The breading wasn't well seasoned. The fries were just fries. A slice of lemon would have also been good for the Jägerschnitzel. We weren't asked for any other drinks or requests for a long time. Then we lost our desire for dessert or an espresso. One server's snippy manner showed a lack of interest in the customer. The other two, a young woman and a man, were courteous. But they were inattentive to reorders. We know that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find good staff in the restaurant industry. The size of the beer garden is ambitious for the number of staff, who have to cover a lot of distance due to the logistics of the bar and kitchen. Perhaps the number of tables should be reduced and more emphasis should be placed on quality and service. That would be good for the customers. The menu could also be adapted somewhat to the temperatures. At almost 30 degrees Celsius, you probably don't feel like eating beef with horseradish sauce... What bothered us a lot were the dogs we brought along. They sometimes make a lot of noise and bark. It's annoying.

First time there. Everything was great. Very good food, friendly service, and the prices were right. Very nice beer garden, and no long wait times.

For several years now, whenever we're nearby, we've enjoyed eating at the Eschweilerhof. For years, the atmosphere has been great, the service is excellent, and the menu is extensive. However, on June 21, 2025 (we were with ten people in the beautiful beer garden), we noticed that the quality of the schnitzel dishes (and cordon bleu) had changed, to our detriment. In the past, the "homemade" pieces of meat were of varying sizes and served with the right ratio of meat to breading. The pieces served on June 21 appeared to be ready-made products with a lot of breading and very thin slices of meat? Or are the schnitzels prepared by a new chef? Although the prices have been raised somewhat, as is the case everywhere, and the food was once again tasty and plentiful, the schnitzel and cordon bleu unfortunately lowered the number of stars for the food somewhat!

We spent a lovely evening in the beer garden; the rump steak is highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

A superb ambiance and exceptionally friendly staff, which is an absolute rarity these days. The food is delicious, and the prices are very fair for the quality offered.

The Eschweiler grill plate was served cold, the pork was tough, the portion was an absolute joke: 3 small pieces of meat, a small woman's handful of fries, and all for €25.80? It's no joke, after that I had to go and get another kebab, which I was really full of. I was very disappointed yesterday, even though I've always been very satisfied. My wife also packed her entire meal, which is very untypical; she packs at least half of it, but even her cheese spaetzle for €16 only lasted a short time. It absolutely doesn't justify the price-performance ratio. If we hadn't been under time pressure, I would have returned my cold plate. I won't be going there again; it's far too expensive if you don't even get half full.

We've enjoyed coming back to the Eschweilerhof for years. The same friendly, attentive service, delicious food, and a perfect atmosphere. The value for money is also excellent!

Schon mehrmals zum Muttertag dort gewesen, weil das Restaurant und drumherum meiner Mutter gefällt. Das ist das Wichtigste! Meiner Mutter hatte es auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Mir allerdings gab es am Muttertag einen Schlag in die Magengrube. Als Veganer ist mir bekannt, das die Auswahl gering ist. Wenn ich dann jedoch für eine gefüllte Paprika mit Reis, nenn Klecks Sauce knapp 20€ bezahle, Warenwert ca. 3€, dazu der Salat mit Sahnedressing statt abgemacht OHNE Sahne serviert wird, kann ich keine 5 Sterne vergeben. 3 Sterne vergeben ich, weil es wie erwähnt meiner Mutter hervorragend gemundet hat.

I tried to contact you via email, no response. I've known the restaurant for what feels like 40 years now and until three or four years ago it was always great across the board. Over the last few years the food has gone down a bit. No matter - new season, new luck. We were there on the first Sunday of March. Cream schnitzel, farmer's salad and water just under 40 euros - would have been ok if the quality had been right. Fried potatoes thick as tar black on one side, raw on the other side, cream schnitzel with fries worked like that, a little lightly seasoned or salted but with a sweet cream sauce it wasn't really great - half went back. I politely declined the waiter's attempt to make up for it with ice cream. Hunger got the better of me, I didn't feel like having dessert anymore, I would have preferred a good meal. Shortly afterwards it hit my stomach, as did my girlfriend towards the evening. That could have come from something else, but we didn't eat much else that day. I used to like coming to you. At the moment you only have the beautiful beer garden and good service. In the future, I won't be leaving a lot of money on bad food with you. Fried potatoes have probably been a problem there for a long time.

I stopped here during my hike on the Biergartenweg. It's an inn as it should be. Friendly staff, beautiful decor and the food is fantastic. The crispy breading of the schnitzel - simply world class 😍👌🏼🍗🍺

We were there for the second time today. The food was again very tasty. Our many special requests were responded to in a very nice and friendly manner and we got everything exactly as we wanted it. The starters came very quickly, and before that there was even a greeting from the kitchen with delicious garlic quark and bread. The main courses were also on the table very quickly and everyone enjoyed them very much. I have to say that I ate the best schnitzel breading there in recent years. I can really recommend the schnitzels! We will go there again, the next table is already reserved!

We were there on a Friday evening with a larger group (approx. 15 people). The restaurant was full. So: definitely make a reservation! The menu scores with down-to-earth dishes, delicious salads and delicious starters at reasonable prices. Despite our larger group, all starters and main courses came to the table at the same time. A big compliment for this! Everything was also very tasty. The Eschweilerhof is definitely worth a visit!

Very good food, above the level of what is generally considered home-style. The beef carpaccio was very good, the lamb chops were perfect, as were the slices of saddle of venison in a great dark sauce. The fries tasted very good (from the deep fryer, not oven fries), the salad was also delicious. The service was attentive and friendly and recommended a larger table, which had just become available, so that the dog had more space. The toilets are new and absolutely clean. Oh yes, the prices are absolutely reasonable.

A home-style restaurant where we probably wouldn't have gotten a seat without a table reservation...and we now know why: the service is attentive, very friendly and quick! The menu offers a wide selection 👍 and the food is very tasty 😋 we had different dishes, everyone was thrilled. We felt very comfortable.

The Eschweiler Hof is a good, middle-class restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. The restaurant stands out with its extremely polite and courteous service. The personal highlight is the beer garden in summer, great atmosphere and quiet company. All dishes are recommended, my favorite is the grill plate.

Staff was very friendly. Food and drinks arrived quickly. Ordered champion cream schnitzel. 1. Schnitzel freezes. 2. There wasn't a single champion in the sauce and the sauce tasted very sweet, unfortunately not my taste. Otherwise pleasant atmosphere.

Apart from the somewhat small parking lot and the lack of a network connection, it's a really nice location.

Perfect experience, very courteous service and good food

Went there for dinner for the first time today. Waited an hour for food. It doesn't work at all. With the cream schnitzel there is only a dollop of sauce. What kind of cream schnitzel is that? The breading of the schnitzel was so salty that you couldn't eat it. Not recommendable!!! We won't be coming back. !!

Als langjährige Stammkundschaft wurden wir heute mehr als enttäuscht! Normalerweise verzichten wir auf Bewertungen im Internet, jeder sollte selbst seine Erfahrungen machen und beurteilen, aber heute hat uns nach mehreren berechtigten Reklamationen (Suppe lauwarm, beim Hauptgang, welcher bei moderatem Gästebesuch erst nach über einer Stunde auf Nachfrage unsererseits in der Küche abgerufen wurde, zwischenzeitlich hatten andere Tische, die deutlich nach uns bestellt hatten, ihr Essen bekommen) durch die Rechtfertigung des Kellners veranlasst, diese Rezession zu schreiben. Zum wiederholten Mal waren bei einem Gericht die Hälfte der Bratkartoffeln verbrannt und die andere Hälfte roh, auch die dann in Kürze nachgereichten Bratkartoffeln waren teilweise kalt und roh! Die Pommes des anderen Gerichtes waren scheinbar schon länger in der Fritteuse geschwommen, nicht wirklich zu genießen! Beim Versuch des Kellners, das misslungene Essen schönzureden anstatt sich zu entschuldigen und mit einem Getränk aufs Haus glattzubügeln, wurde angeraten hier keine Bratkartoffeln mehr zu bestellen, sondern Pommes (aber leider auch nicht zu empfehlen!) Nudeln oder Kroketten zu bestellen. Fast hatten wir den Eindruck, er wollte gerade sagen, wenn Ihr Bratkartoffeln wollt, müsst Ihr woanders hingehen, weil, Zitat: die machen wir immer so! Eschi, du bist nicht mehr das, was du einmal warst bei Inge und Helge! Auch bei einem Restaurant muss man sich jedes Mal und jeden Tag aufs Neue beweisen, sonst schafft man sich schneller ab, als man denkt. Auf eine Gespräch und eine Verabschiedung beim Verlassen des Lokals warteten wir vergebens. Wir werden mal ene zeitlang aussetzen, bis wir bessere Kritiken im Internet lesen, denn was man so liest, sind wir leider nicht die Einzigsten, die diese Erfahrung machen mußten.

A great beer garden with friendly staff and great food... My tip for the Cordon Bleu is to also order the paprika sauce... The cream sauce is made in the Swiss style and is too creamy for me (like with rye flour). Special requests for the sauce are never a problem... Really top...
