Gasthaus Bär in Herzogenaurach

Great location. Unfortunately, the food was very, very poor. I chose liver from the daily special, young beef. It was very tough, you could barely cut it with a knife, so it was left alone. The fried potatoes were soft and oily. The salad served before it was good. The waiter didn't comment on the full plates being returned. Very poor by German standards and a complete failure for Franconia. I don't understand a restaurant in Franconia.

We have been there many times and mostly satisfied. Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly. The prices for it have increased. The asparagus soup was so salty that it was actually inedible. The potato salad tasted like bucket goods. The other food wasn't anything special either. You couldn't pay with VISA. It's not surprising that even on Easter Monday the inn was practically empty. Quite a disappointment.

Anyone looking for hearty Franconian food will find it here. Simply delicious!

Very good food, fresh and tasty. Game we hunt ourselves is particularly recommended. Cozy guest room and nice courtyard to sit outside. Super nice host family. Food can also be ordered to take away.

Although it was a quiet Wednesday evening, it took 1.5 hours for the food to be served. My peppered carp was very well peppered, while others in our group complained that the carp was too salty. Overall, the meal wasn't a real treat for anyone. There was no apology for the long wait, nor was there any offer of an espresso or something similar from the owner. Despite being thirsty and having empty glasses, the owner took his time. We had to call for him to come and take our drinks. It was almost as if he was calling it a day...

Very tasty carp, but €28 also quite expensive

Thank you! Roast, sauce, dumplings, bratwurst, potato salad - a warm welcome to Franconia in the most beautiful summer weather. For a long time it looked as if we would have to forego the Franconian dinner because there was little in the city center in Herzogenaurach on Mondays and many things were closed. We were greeted warmly and seated outside on the covered terrace. The drinks were quickly consumed, but the children's special requests for food were “of course” no challenge. It was good that we were there early, the tables filled up quickly. The food came quickly: everything was delicious and plentiful - please keep it up for a long time.

Thank you very much, Mr. Bär, for the successful festival weekend and your care. Rooms were clean and a window had a mosquito net so it could be left open all night. At breakfast, what was empty was immediately refilled - everything was there to get the day off to a good start. Thank you for your hospitality - if we go to the festival again, we will be happy to come back.

Very nice service, very clean inn, but the quality of the food has deteriorated badly. Had schnitzel with fries, the fries tasted old and seemed like they had been warmed up again, the schnitzels (3 each) were very small and thin and anything but decent schnitzels, the mixed salad was plentiful, but ready-made salad. For this price range you should expect good food... You could hear swearing from the kitchen - not commendable! In short: great on the outside, poor quality. It's good that there are still restaurants that operate in a customer-oriented manner. For us it was the last visit.

German cuisine, very good food. Price-performance ratio ok. Nice and friendly service. EC card payment possible. A thoroughly satisfying evening for us.

Überragendes fränkisches Essen!

Village inn with a beautiful, large rural covered and open barn with table sets. Unfortunately, the service wasn't exactly the fastest this time and you had to make yourself known as you seemed to quickly become overwhelmed. The food was of good quality and tasted very good, the portions were sufficient, as was a very good salad. All in all definitely highly recommended. And the dark beer or shandy, really great.

Guter Landgasthof. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der gute, für die Region typische Karpfen oder die Wildgerichte. Das Wild kommt meißt aus der eigenen Pacht oder der von befreundeten Jägern.

Sehr leckeres Essen, nettes Personal. Öffnungszeiten bis 22.00uhr laut Betreiber, nach dem Essen (ca 21.00) fragte man uns ob alles passen würde, hätten gerne noch Espresso gehabt, dies war aber leider nicht mehr möglich. Warum auch immer.

Sehr gute fränkische Küche. Die Preise sind zwar nicht ohne, aber für Qualität passt auf jeden Fall.

Geheimtipp ! Traditionsreiches Haus mit gehobener fränkischer Küche. Hier kocht der Junior-Chef mit sehr viel Liebe. Gastraum mit altem Flair, am Stammtisch kartln noch die Honoratioren und ein gestandener Kellner bedient. Gerne auch mehr als diese 5 Sterne.

Das Essen ist immer frisch und lecker zubereitet. Am Salat spürt man, daß er nicht aus dem Glaus kommt, sondern frisch zubereitet wird. Die Bedienung freundlich. Preise sind über dem üblichen Niveau vergleichbarer Gasthäuser.

Restaurant hat uns sehr gefallen: Freundliche, lustige und flinke Bedienung sowie feines Essen (Pfefferkarpfen mit super Kartoffelsalat und echt gute Käsespätzle). Wir kommen gern wieder. Die Apfelküchle danach übrigens auch prima!

Essen war gut, Bedienung konnte freundlicher werden. Wir hatten das Gefühl hier zu stören.. Achtung Gast - es droht Arbeit!!! Fliegen im Gastraum sind genügend vorhanden...

Wir waren im Gasthof zum Abendessen. Der Service war gut, schnell und freundlich. Das Essen (4 unterschiedliche Gerichte) war durchwegs gut. Es wurde gleichzeitig serviert, also konnten alle am Tisch gemeinsam essen. Parkplätze stehen im Hof zur Verfügung. Absolut in Ordnung, wir werden sicherlich wieder Mal vorbei schauen.

Essen gut, aber die Anzahl der Fliegen in der Gaststube und wahrscheinlich auch in der Küche waren grenzwertig und Ekel erregend. In den Sommermonaten ist dieser Gasthof nicht zu empfehlen.

Nicht der klassische Biergarten. Viele Tische unter einem Vordach. Daher für Schattensucher optimal. Essen gut.
