Essen ist ok, aber sehr lange Wartezeiten. Es dauert auch sehr lange bis man die Tische abräumt.

Sehr schönes Ambiente. Leider wirkte die Bedienung sehr desinteressiert.

Wir haben am Sonntag Morgen zum Frühstück reserviert… was Mann auch unbedingt machen sollte und waren rundum zufrieden. Sehr guter Service!!!

Absolute Top Location! Wir haben sehr gut gegessen und das Personal war super freundlich. Trotz ausgebuchter Terrasse am Wochenende haben sie uns kurzfristig einen Tisch fertig gemacht.

Wunderschöne Lage für ein Restaurant. Atemberaubender Blick auf den Rhein, Bonn, den Drachenfels und das Siebengebirge!

Für Feiern nicht zu empfehlen. Wir haben unser Hochzeitsessen mit 15 Personen im Gasthaus auf dem Ölberg ausgerichtet. Positiv und professionell war die Kommunikation zur Planung im Vorhinein, der Tisch war toll eingedeckt und das Essen sehr lecker. Die Mitarbeiterin, die uns betreut hat, war sehr bemüht und freundlich. Das Ambiente war wie immer sehr schön. Negativ war, dass sich nicht an die Planungsabsprachen gehalten wurde, es fehlten z. B. Gerichte und Weinempfehlung auf der verkleinerten Karte, wir haben enorm lange auf unser Essen gewartet (auf das Hauptgericht 1,5 h) und am Ende hatten drei Familienmitglieder, die das gleiche Wildgericht gegessen hatten, Symptome einer Lebensmittelvergiftung. Die Reaktion auf die Rückmeldung dazu am nächsten Tag war ernüchternd und unverschämt. Es gab keine Entschuldigung, sondern eine Abwehrhaltung. Schade, dass unser Hochzeitsessen so verlaufen ist. Für Feiern würden ich das Gasthaus auf dem Ölberg wegen der schlechten Organisation von Veranstaltungen und den langen Wartezeiten nicht weiterempfehlen.

Das beste Restaurant in der gesamten Region! Das Essen ist außergewöhnlich gut. Es gibt viele Wildgerichte und saisonale Gerichte. Die Portionen sind groß und die Preise sind fair. Wenn viel los ist, muss man sich auf etwas längere Wartezeiten einstellen. Drinnen ist das Ambiente sehr gemütlich und draußen hat man die beste Aussicht in ganz NRW.

Aussicht top, Essen war leider durchweg alles viel zu salzig, teilweise haben wir es stehen lassen, weil's so extrem war. Es war extrem viel los als wir da waren und nachdem wir (mit Ankündigung) fast ne Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet haben wollten wir dann auch nicht alles reklamieren und nochmal warten...

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Service war exzellent und das Frühstück außerordentlich reichlich 👍 Die Aussicht rund um das Siebengebirge ist einfach nur traumhaft 🤗 Eine traumhafte Location 🤩

Äusserst unfreundliches Personal. Nachdem wir uns an einen freien Tisch gesetzt haben, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass dieser reserviert sei. Ein Schildchen war nicht vorhanden, sodass dies nicht erkennbar war. Auf meine Nachfrage, ob der nächste Tisch frei sei, wurde dies bejaht. Als wir uns dort gesetzt hatten, kam eine andere Kellnerin wie eine Furie, herrschte uns grundlos an und forderte uns auf, aufzustehen, da dieser in 30 Minuten reserviert sei. Wir haben freundlich erklärt, nur eine Kleinigkeit essen zu wollen und schnellstmöglich zu gehen. Auch das wurde abgelehnt. Mangels Alternativen versuchten wir es am inzwischen dritten Tisch. Dort bekamen wir übrigens mit, dass der angeblich reservierte Tisch keine 5 Minuten von derselben Kellnerin mit Gästen besetzt wurde, die nach eigenen Angaben nicht reserviert hatten. Wär das nicht die einzige Einkehrmöglichkeit weit und breit, wären wir gegangen! Nochmal komme ich nicht!

Hervorragendes Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Ein wunderbares Ziel für einen Tagsausflug.

Das Personal war wirklich unfreundlich. Wir kamen nach einem langen Fußmarsch an und hofften, zum Mittagessen freundlich empfangen zu werden. Die Kellner beachteten uns nicht einmal. Wir versuchten, Englisch zu sprechen, aber sie antworteten nur auf Deutsch. Man wies uns besetzte Plätze zu, und wir warteten 20 Minuten, ohne dass jemand kam, um zu bestellen. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Wir wollten am Samstagmittag – wie viele andere Gäste auch – gemütlich auf der Terrasse etwas essen und trinken. Vor Ort waren mehrere Tische bereits eingedeckt und offenbar reserviert. Auf unsere Nachfrage hin wurde uns vom Kellner jedoch recht ruppig mitgeteilt, dass keine Tische mehr frei seien, kein Essen mehr rausgegeben werden könne und wir uns stattdessen ja an die Bar setzen könnten. Grundsätzlich ist es natürlich nachvollziehbar, wenn Kapazitäten erschöpft sind oder Reservierungen Vorrang haben. Allerdings wäre es in so einem Fall sehr hilfreich, dies im Vorfeld klar zu kommunizieren – etwa am Parkplatz, auf der Website oder bei Google. So könnten Gäste ihre Erwartungen besser anpassen und sich den Weg sparen. Der Tonfall im Umgang mit Gästen hat leider zusätzlich einen negativen Eindruck hinterlassen. Schade, denn die Lage und das Ambiente sind eigentlich sehr einladend.

Ich empfehle, die Kellner zu schulen oder sie alternativ zu entlassen. Sie sollten die Gäste freundlich begrüßen, Bestellungen aufnehmen und dafür sorgen, dass sie sich wohlfühlen. Ich kam mit der Erwartung einer angenehmen Atmosphäre an. Ich fragte nach freien Plätzen zum Mittagessen, und man zeigte auf einen runden Tisch, an dem gerade Leute aufstehen wollten. Dann verschwanden die Kellner. Nachdem die Herren aufgestanden waren, setzte ich mich, in der Erwartung, dass der Tisch abgeräumt würde. Stattdessen wurde mir bei jedem neuen Gast, der nach einem Platz fragte, der Tisch gezeigt, an dem ich saß. Wir saßen schließlich zu vielen an diesem Tisch, der noch von den vorherigen Gästen schmutzig war, und eine halbe Stunde lang kam niemand, um ihn abzuräumen. Also ging ich. Schrecklich! Ich rate dringend davon ab, dieses Restaurant zu besuchen. Bringen Sie sich lieber ein Lunchpaket mit und genießen Sie die Aussicht.

Wir haben hier Mittags darauf gewartet bedient zu werden. Nachdem 5 Minuten lang zwei Kellner nur an uns vorbeigerannt sind und uns ignoriert haben sind wir auf eine der Kellnerinnen hinzugegangen und haben höflich gefragt ob sie vielleicht noch etwas frei hat. Sie unterbrach uns mit einem nebensatz von wegen hm nix frei und ging weg obwohl man sehen konnte das drinnen noch etwas frei war - scheinbar ist man sich hier zu gut für Neue Kundschaft… sehr schade (und ehrlich gesagt ich war selber Kellnerin: sehr peinlich schlechtes Benehmen)

Die Aussicht war sehr schön. Der Service und die Qualität des Essens ließen zu wünschen übrig. Der Käsekuchen war trocken und geschmacklos.

Super Aussicht! Sehr nettes Personal und auch sehr hilfsbereit. Top!!! Der Fußweg ist sehr angenehm und wenn man man Zeit hat auch nicht steil da es mehrere Varianten zu laufen gibt. Das parken an der Margeretenhöhe kostet aber leider 3,00 für 3Stunden. Resultat: Sehr nettes Restaurant und sehr empfehlenswert

Ich habe vor kurzem meinen Geburtstag dort mit 8 Personen gefeiert. Das Essen war vorzüglich und alle waren sehr zufrieden. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Ich bin von der fantastischen Aussicht auch immer wieder begeistert.

Wunderschön beschreibt es nur mässig wenn man einmal den Weg nach oben erklommen hat. Apropos Weg, er lässt sich gut laufen und die Freude auf die tolle Aussicht, das Ambiente und des sehr gute Essen lässt einen gleich beschwingter gehen. Wer gerade am Wochenende einen Tisch haben möchte, sollte vorab reservieren.

Aussicht fantastisch...Service unterirdisch. Wir haben nach einer Stunde aufgegeben, da unsere Bestellung nur teilweise serviert wurde. Auf die Frage , wann mit den restlichen Speisen zu rechnen ist.. erhielten wir die Info, das der Kellner in der Küche gestürzt sei... Eben jener Kellner fuhr munter mit seinem Auto an uns vorbei beim Abstieg... Häää?

Wundervoller Ort mit grandiosem Ausblick vom höchsten Gipfel des Siebengebirges! Dazu feines Restaurant mit sehr guter Küche und sehr freundlichem Service! Wir haben dort einen sehr schönen Mittag erlebt.

Nachdem uns der Aufstieg etwas ins Schwitzen gebracht hatte, konnten wir von der gepflegten Terrasse des Gasthauses den tollen Ausblick auf das Rheintal genießen. Wegen des kühlen Wetters sind wir aber nach drinnen gegangen. Hier saßen trotz des Wochentags schon einige Gäste. Es war jedoch kein Problem, noch einen Platz zu finden. Zusammen mit dem frischen Blumenschmuck waren die Tische hübsch gedeckt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, und unser Essen bekamen wir nach einer angemessenen, nicht zu langen Wartezeit. Unsere Gerichte (vegetarischer Gemüseteller und ein Fleischkäse vom Wildschwein) waren schmackhaft, die Portionen groß. Speisen, die zu anderen Gästen getragen wurden, sahen ebenfalls sehr gut und reichlich aus. Die Preise waren sicher nicht im untersten Bereich anzusiedeln. Angesichts des heute in Restaurants ohnehin hohen Preisniveaus, war das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis jedoch in Ordnung. Vor allem Wildliebhaber werden die Vielfalt der angebotenen Wildgerichte zu schätzen wissen. Für den dem Wild weniger zugeneigten Gast wäre auf der Speisekarte durchaus etwas „Luft nach oben“, etwa in Form eines Salattellers.

Sehr nette Lokation. Sauber, gemütlich, toller Ausblick! Waren hier zum Frühstück mit einer größeren Gruppe am Samstagmorgen. Essen war gut, Kaffee leider kalt. Service freundlich, kam nicht richtig nach, vermutlich weil viel los war.

Wir waren früh oben und haben den herrlichen Ausblick bei einer Tasse Kaffee genossen. Der Aufstieg dauert etwa 30 Minuten. Gegessen haben wir nichts, aber das testen wir bei Gelgenheit. Reservierung ist angebracht. Bewertung wird dann erweitert.

Uriges kleines Gasthaus, sehr leckere Wildkarte mit regionalem Produkteinsatz. Habens uns sehr wohl gefühlt trotz Dauerregen.

Absolut empfehlenswert! Das Essen war richtig lecker, die Portionen großzügig – man geht definitiv satt und glücklich nach Hause. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich und liebevoll mit frischen Blumen dekoriert, was eine tolle Atmosphäre schafft. Der Service ist herzlich und aufmerksam, und zusammen mit dem schönen Ausblick war es ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Es ist ein wunderschöner Ausblick. Jedoch sollte man sich das Essen besser selbst auf den Berg mitbringen, wenn man nicht enttäuscht wegen bereits 90 min zu früh geschlossener Küche oder einer nicht ausgeschriebenen Reservierungspflicht sein will. Eins muss man dem Restraunt lassen Bewertungen löschen können sie gut.

Schöne Aussicht, aber leider wurde unserer kleinen drei Personen Gruppe hier trotz sichtbar freien Tischen kein Platz angeboten. Es wäre alles voll hieß es. Kurz nach uns kamen andere, etwas ältere Gäste, welche nach kurze Gespräch auch keine Reservierung hatten. Für die war seltsamerweise noch Platz. Essen kann ich also nicht bewerten. Außengastronomie war auch geschlossen. Man hätte sich irgendwo selbst etwas holen können an einem kleinen Kiosk(?) oder so ähnlich. Naja Aufenthalt war nicht so schön. Sind wieder hungrig gegangen und haben ein schöneres Lokal gefunden.

Sehr gutes Essen, aber Kartenzahlung-only für viele Kunden unpraktisch Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und qualitativ hochwertig – geschmacklich absolut empfehlenswert. Was allerdings irritierend war: Es wird ausschließlich Kartenzahlung akzeptiert. Gerade bei einem Wanderlokal ist das für viele Kunden unpraktisch, da man nach einer Tour oft nur Bargeld dabeihat und nicht mit einer reinen Kartenzahlung rechnet.

Als ich heute spontan den Ölberg besuchte und sich Hunger auftat, hatte ich nicht die Hoffnung, dass mitten in der Woche so abgelegen eine Gaststätte auf hätte. Umso überraschter war ich, dass es nicht nur gut besucht war, sondern auch mit vorzüglichen Speisen daher kam. Ich hatte ein Kalbsschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und einer hervorragenden Champignonsauce. Für ein spontanes Mittagessen ein Festmahl. So ging es bergab dann schneller, als gedacht.

The service was abysmal, a stark contrast to the breathtaking view. Anyone who wants to forgo the view altogether should definitely sit at the very bottom in the dark, cramped hunting lodge.

It's better to bring your own food, because you'll not only be met with unfriendly, but also ignorant staff. You'll wait forever before you can even place your order, and once you've overcome that hurdle, you'll wait at least an hour for your food... Even the most laid-back people will reach their limit here! A real disgrace!

Toller Ausblick und auch das Essen ist absolut empfehlenswert! Plant mehr Zeit ein, denn bei gutem Wetter und zu Stoßzeiten wartet man hier etwas länger! Trotzdem lohnt es sich! Es gibt sogar ein Getränke Automat mit ein paar Sitzplätzen für den Durst!

Very unfriendly and the atmosphere is not at all inviting. If they don't want to run a restaurant, then just don't. Nobody's forcing them to. My recommendation: Enjoy the view briefly, but eat and drink somewhere else or bring your own.

Sehr leckeres Essen! Auch mit lokalem Wild! Herzlich und familiär geführt, Preise völlig in Ordnung. Da steckt Herz dahinter! Gleichzeitig das schönste Panorama was wir in der näheren Umgebung von Bonn haben. Ich wünsche den Betreibern alles Gute und viel Erfolg!

Überall steht dreckiges Geschirr herum, der ganze Laden wirkt ungepflegt und schmutzig. Als wäre das nicht schon genug, wurde ich dann auch noch von der Bedienung blöd angesprochen – sinngemäß, dass „die Liebe zum Bier ja groß sei“, nur weil ich nach so langer Wartezeit endlich eins bekommen habe. Absolut unprofessionell und kein Ort, den ich weiterempfehlen würde.

Dirty dishes were scattered everywhere, the whole place looked neglected and dirty. As if that wasn't enough, the server then made a rude comment to me – essentially saying that "the love of beer must be great" – just because I finally got one after such a long wait. Absolutely unprofessional and not a place I would recommend.

Gestern besuchte ich mit Freunden nach unserer traditionellen Herbstwanderung wieder einmal das Gasthaus auf dem Ölberg. Herzlich empfangen, kulinarisch bekocht und mit erstklassigem Service versorgt. Es ist immer eine Freude bei Euch Gast zu sein. Danke dafür und bis bald.

The hike up to the resturant was lovely, and the resturant itself had a nice and cosy atmosphere. However, the service: tragic. When we arrived, we stood for 5 minutes before someone came to seat us. Moreover, it took us 75 minutes to recieve our food after ordering, and when I recieved my forelle and avocado tatar, it was switched to smoked salmon without any consultation, and when I recieved my food, there was no apology for the slow service or the cancellation of what I had ordered.

Hot meals only until 4:30 p.m. Not served continuously!

The view up here is great, but that's about all the positives. There was a sign outside in the corner saying you should wait until you get a table. We did that for a few minutes, but there was no waiter in sight. We couldn't see anyone inside either. So we just sat outside, as there were a lot of dirty dishes lying around and it looked like there hadn't been any service outside for a while. When we asked again inside, we were told that it was self-service outside and that you should order at the counter in the basement. The counter was filthy and littered with empty glasses and bottles. It took a total of 30 minutes to get our two coffees. There was no cake. Even though it's nice up here, with this level of service, I would never come here for food and drinks again. The place seems messy, dirty, and disorganized; I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. Appropriate signage indicating that it's self-service would really be useful. The coffee was delicious. But there was no spoon to stir the sugar either.

We visited the restaurant with our two small children after a hike. First, the positives. The view is beautiful and the food was mostly delicious. The venison stew and dumplings were very good, as were the fries. The venison bratwurst, however, was deep-fried, but the kids enjoyed it. However, the service was truly unacceptable, hence two stars deducted. Basic communication skills could have improved a lot. When we walked in, we were simply ignored and left standing, even though we politely asked for a table. The waitress cleared a large table, simply turned over the very dirty tablecloths, and we were still waiting with two small children. Our question about whether we could sit down was simply not answered. Eventually, however, it became clear that we could. We ordered after a few minutes, but unfortunately, there was no indication that we would have to expect a very long wait. In that time, I could have hiked home, shopped, and prepared an elaborate meal myself. Drinks took over 20 minutes. When the food wasn't there after more than 60 minutes, we asked. A gruff response followed. Why can't someone be friendly here? The children were really hungry, so after we asked, they brought us some bread. The children's food arrived after 70 minutes, the adults' food after 90 minutes. By then, of course, the children were already full and had hardly any patience left. We were then told that the menu stated that if the house was full, it could take a while. We must have missed the hint while studying the menu! It would have been obvious to simply give the warning right at the beginning (30 seconds invested, nothing to lose). After all, we have no way of knowing whether everyone present has already eaten or is still waiting. As I said, the food is very good in itself, but for a family, this was not acceptable. A family with a baby next to us also had to wait that long and also complained about the lack of a changing area.

A beautiful place with fantastic weather—we had plenty of time, so it didn't matter that we had to wait a bit. We weren't on the run, we just wanted to enjoy a beautiful day...

Great view, decent and solid food. But the service is terrible. Two families with small children ordered cake, ice cream, coffee, and soda. Wait time: One hour and 20 minutes!! We asked several times (when a server – who doesn't deserve the name – came by). The snippy response was: "Then just don't come to the Mount of Olives on Sundays!" Interestingly, all the other tables received their hot meals faster. It turned out our order had simply been lost. That can happen, of course. But what made the whole thing truly outrageous was that they didn't even think it necessary to show any empathy for the situation or—heaven forbid—to apologize for the long wait. The location apparently allows for it. Conclusion: The food was okay, the view was fantastic, but the "service" was arrogant, inefficient, unable to take criticism, and generally massively overwhelmed. It seems as if the internal organizational structures needed to be improved. And not even all the tables were occupied.

Not okay! Here, you're forced to overpay, meaning you have to pay for the maximum parking time, because otherwise you won't get a ticket printed. So, if you're willing to pay for the last hour, you have to insert money after 8 p.m. This is a rip-off!

Attention, attention: I was attacked by the "resident Ridgeback" today and fell backward into the tables!!! The "resident dog" was tied to a long leash in the entrance area and suddenly charged at me and my DK - unbelievable! That could have ended very badly!!! But, not that anyone apologized. No, quite the opposite: the manager tried to argue with me that the Ridgeback was certainly not to blame for the situation. Hello, is that even possible! A male Ridgeback attacks a guest with his dog, and that's supposed to be normal?! No, more likely a complaint! It's irresponsible to let a male Ridgeback cover the entire entrance area, and on a leash, too. All dog owners are hereby warned about the entrance area!

Not what it used to be. Hard to reach. Online reservations don't work. We won't be coming back.

The food was too special for me, and at €6.50 for a fries, it was too expensive. Service was overwhelmed because I think the manager had no idea what to do. Waited 30 minutes for service and drinks.

Chapeau! We (10 people) spent a wonderful evening at the inn on the Mount of Olives. Thank you for the attentive service and the excellent food, which was of a high standard. The inn is highly recommended! Reserving a table is recommended! The view is sensational 👍

In any case – fantastic views and a friendly server. Due to a birthday party taking place at the same time, business was somewhat slowed down and the service was understaffed, but that didn't dampen our spirits. Delicious food.

We were completely satisfied. The food was fantastic, the view was magnificent, and the service was friendly, even though we were almost an hour late. Google completely misled us (but unfortunately, it didn't respond to complaints from the restaurant and the Ittenbach residents). I should have checked the website beforehand! We can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, a very hurtful experience, and in a place where you're supposed to feel welcome. I was with a hiking group at a restaurant after a beautiful day. The joy didn't last long, however: As a trans woman, I was openly and clearly addressed as "Sir" when ordering my drink, even though I had previously been in direct conversation with the waitress and introduced myself as a lady. Respectful treatment looks different, as this was obviously a deliberate insult! The lady had already been very short-spoken, and friendliness wasn't her thing, in general. When I calmly and directly addressed the incident, the waitress initially responded with a condescending "Oh, isn't that right?", which only made the whole thing worse. Only after my much sharper feedback did she offer an apology, which I was willing to accept at the time. But unfortunately, her later "second apology" also seemed more like a performance of duty, lacking any real insight or compassion. I'm not writing this out of resentment, but because such experiences simply can't happen again in 2025. Respect shouldn't be the exception, but the norm, especially towards marginalized groups. It's a shame that this place is no longer one I'd like to return to.

The food is good and fairly priced. The real highlight, however, is the terrace with its magnificent view of the Siebengebirge and the Rhine Valley. A must for every hiker!

Well, actually a nice place. The fireplace room inside looks very nice and is lovingly decorated. But on weekends, people seem to come here more often for a break during a hike. And they want to sit outside in nice weather. And that's where it gets difficult: There's a sign saying you have to wait and be assigned a table. Unfortunately, none of the waiters seem to feel responsible for this. At least some of them don't. It gets unpleasant when you have to wait two hours for the soup of the day and one hour for fries. That's clearly the fault of the organization. Appreciative feedback is brusquely rejected and subject to persistent commentary. Hospitality and service orientation look different to me overall. Sorry that as a tourist restaurant, you have to meet different expectations than in fine dining. The view and the ambiance are beautiful, but the service doesn't live up to it. We "just sat down" and were promptly yelled at by the waitress. They said you couldn't do whatever you wanted; everyone worked according to their own rules. To be honest, I didn't expect that in a beer garden-like atmosphere; it wasn't immediately apparent as a guest. Certainly, that's no reason to be immediately rude. Other guests were also yelled at. Additionally, the waitress went to other tables and loudly criticized other guests with them. We certainly won't be coming back here; I wouldn't want to spend my free time like that.

The location and the view are truly beautiful—that's definitely the restaurant's biggest plus point. Unfortunately, several things didn't impress us during our visit. The coffee we ordered was listed on the menu as €3, but we were ultimately charged €6, with the explanation that it was a "pot." In fact, it was only a cup of about 200 ml, which doesn't justify the extra charge. Furthermore, there's no choice of seating. Although almost everything outside was empty, we had to wait about ten minutes before being seated. Cake also wasn't available before 2 p.m., which unfortunately wasn't indicated on the menu. Overall, we waited a very long time for our order and later for the bill. Unfortunately, the beautiful view alone isn't enough to give us a positive overall rating. Value for money and service urgently need to be improved.

We waited for 10 minutes in vain for a waiter to show us a table. Since no one came, we simply sat down at a free table ourselves. A few minutes later, a waitress approached us and very rudely asked us to leave. She claimed all the tables were reserved and didn't even give us the option of sitting inside. However, the view outside is phenomenal in good weather!

5 stars – Highly recommended! We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Gasthaus am Ölberg. The young waitress was extremely friendly and accommodating – we immediately felt welcome and in good hands. We had breakfast there: fresh, delicious rolls, a large selection of spreads and toppings – there was truly something for everyone. Everything was lovingly prepared and of high quality. We'd love to come back!

A beautiful day trip destination! A very exclusive location with panoramic views of the Rhineland landscape. Parking is available at the foot of the mountain. The walk up isn't very time-consuming, making it a great destination for families with children.

It's annoying that you have to wait to be assigned a seat. Even worse, and this is unfortunately becoming more and more common, is that you can only pay by card! The decision about how you want to pay is taken away from you. This is pure disempowerment and discrimination. And all because it's easier for the stores than using cash. I want to continue to decide for myself how I pay in the future. I can do without stores like this. Once and never again.

Anyone who dares to publicly state the reality – perhaps in the form of a politely worded, factually accurate review – quickly learns the hotel's uncompromising approach: deletion instead of a learning curve! The love of truth doesn't end with the coffee here, but with the operator at the very latest. Conclusion: A must for anyone seeking something special – somewhere between panorama, pedagogy, and staff shortages. Anyone who makes it to the coffee has experienced more than just breakfast: a lesson in humility, humor, and timeless German gastronomic romance. Please only think about criticism internally – or have it deleted immediately.

I'm very disappointed! I was forced to pay by card, even though I hadn't been informed beforehand. We only had regular cash! Other visitors were forced to pay by card for us and received our money from the waiter. We're very surprised that you can no longer pay with regular payment methods in the middle of the forest. The view is good, the food is expensive, and the wait is long. A very large dog on a leash in the entrance area did its very large business right in the middle of the path. It wasn't cleaned up even after an hour. What a shame! Best location, and then something like this!

We came here for breakfast with eight adults and two children. The food was of excellent quality, and the selection was huge. There were fresh rolls, no pre-baked items, great cold cuts, cheese, fish, fruit, and some raw vegetables. The scrambled eggs were obviously made with fresh eggs. The service was very friendly, and we got everything we needed. The magnificent view rounded off this wonderful breakfast.

The food was very good. The staff was super friendly and apologized in advance that it might take a while, as we arrived without a reservation. They immediately served us something to drink and a small snack, so it was bearable until our food arrived. Unfortunately, because we waited a few minutes, we exceeded our parking time at the "Am dicken Stein" parking lot, and ended up paying a €29.90 fine. So, to anyone who wants to go to the restaurant, avoid the parking lot and enjoy the delicious food.

We were up here for the first time through a friend. The view (table caught on the railing) is simply magnificent and hard to beat, especially in weather like we had, 22 degrees and sunny. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Since we wanted to go further that day, we just wanted something to drink. Unfortunately, what was sold to us as cappucino and chocolate for a hefty price was simply cheeky. That was all, but neither a cappucino nor a chocolate, even the best frother won't help. The operator should go to the monastery ruins in Mariental, where you can get a cup of chocolate where you can also say cup. However, the food around us looked delicious and plentiful.

Were just upstairs at the restaurant. Unfortunately we were completely ignored by the waiter several times. On top of that, we heard a conversation from him in which he explained that the people who had reserved a table always had priority and the others had to wait because they would only have a quick drink and then leave straight away. Furthermore, not only were we without service (even waiters) but several of us also left. Absolutely an impossibility for me and my husband. Of course, when it's full it can take a while, I completely understand, after all we all only have two hands, but this behavior isn't possible!

Park your car in the parking lot and then walk uphill for 15 minutes through a beautiful forest. This morning we had breakfast in the Gasthaus when we arrived, but we received a very friendly welcome. The children even received chocolate for Easter. A really beautiful place and a very sweet dog too!

Leider ist das Gasthaus für Raucher nicht mehr empfehlenswert, da es den Anti-Raucher-Taliban zum Opfer gefallen ist und jetzt auch im Außenbereich das Rauchen untersagt. In den vergangenen Jahren habe ich im Sommer oft und gerne dort gegessen, auch wenn Qualität von Essen und Service manchmal "etwas klemmten" - aber das ist nun leider vorbei, denn dort, wo ich nicht willkommen bin, lasse ich auch kein Geld mehr. (Apropos - Bargeld mag man dort leider auch nicht mehr, und ich mag keine anderen Zahlungsmittel im Wald mit mir 'rumschleppen/verlieren.) Die Betreiber möchte ich bitten, zu überlegen, ob sie lieber den paar extremen Anti-Rauchern entgegen kommen möchten oder vielleicht doch der nicht gerade kleinen Zahl von Genuss-Rauchern wieder eine Möglichkeit zum Aufenthalt geben wollen. Und die anderen Raucher bitte ich, ebenfalls "mit den Füßen abzustimmen", denn die Anti-Raucher-Taliban lassen sich sonst immer weitere Drangsalierungen einfallen.

I can't judge the food... but the cappuccino and cocoa were really incredibly bad. But the view is great.
