A wonderful café with excellent cakes. We love stopping here to escape from everyday life. Also worth mentioning is the friendly, attentive service. Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back.

We celebrated a milestone birthday with 39 guests at the Jules Verne. The party began in the afternoon with coffee and cake (at the chef's suggestion, two cakes were baked specially to be lactose-free). Afterwards, we showed our guests, some of whom had traveled from far away, the Drachenfels and Drachenburg Castle. Meanwhile, the Jules Verne was being re-set and our dinner buffet was being prepared (starters, fish, various meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, and dessert). The food was very good and wholesome. We were able to play our playlists throughout the celebration using the existing music system and even dance after dinner. Since our guests had booked all 11 hotel rooms, we celebrated until 1:00 a.m. without disturbing anyone. The next morning, we all enjoyed a delicious breakfast together at the Jules Verne, even those who hadn't stayed there. We and our guests really enjoyed our stay at the Jules Verne. The planning of the party, the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the food, the service, the rooms, the cleanliness… everything was perfect.

It was about my sixth visit to Jules Verne in a longer period of time – and my last! I don't know what happened to the location... Our breakfast started at 10 a.m., so we should have had a leisurely two hours to enjoy our €17.90 breakfast in peace. However, the quality and quantity of the buffet left much to be desired; apart from a "fruit salad" that consisted of 90% apples, there was no fresh fruit at 10 a.m. After the children had devoured the "tomato and mozzarella" (which we thought was perfectly fine), no more was served. Unlike before, pancakes were no longer offered, and scrambled eggs could not be ordered with either tomato or cheese. The selection of cereals and other side dishes was limited, and I don't want to know how long the cold cuts sat unrefrigerated on the buffet table. The service consisted only of the filter coffee initially served in a thermos (even the first cappuccino had to be paid for separately) and unseasoned scrambled eggs. There was no salt or pepper anywhere, and we had to specifically request a cereal bowl, water, etc. – and they weren't even brought to our table on the terrace. We placed the used dishes on a distant table because the flies were getting too intrusive. What was unbelievable, however, was that not only was the buffet not refilled, but it had apparently been completely cleared by 11:00 a.m. – when my daughter wanted more shortly after 11:00 a.m., there was nothing left. According to the notices in the restaurant and on the website, breakfast is served until 12:00 p.m. ... When I complained about this when paying, I was told I could have asked – my comment that breakfast was clearly stated as being until 12:00 p.m. and that nothing had been refilled by 10:30 a.m. was apparently of no interest. The quality, quantity, and hospitality presented at the price of €17.90 – no thanks, not again! There are plenty of great alternatives in Königswinter's old town. What a pity, Jules Verne!

The shop is really nice, the service was very nice... but the manager, unfortunately, was not. Our group of 50 people was kicked out at 11 p.m. (we were already being asked to leave at 10 p.m.!) for allegedly disturbing the hotel guests... even though we had requested and discussed it differently beforehand (at least with his staff). We weren't booking a 35-year-old high school reunion so we could go home by 11 p.m., so some people drove hundreds of kilometers. And then they accused us (all over the phone) of getting away with €25 per person, which was exactly what we wanted. What a disgrace! The price was negotiated, not extorted... by the way, for schnitzel and a couple of quiches, the small salad bowl was immediately empty and wasn't refilled. Anyway, that was all fine; we were just enjoying the get-together... unfortunately, that was completely ruined. And apparently the waitresses also had to go to bed, because it's "breakfast time" the next morning. After I asked the young ladies, they didn't care and wouldn't have had a problem working until midnight or 1 a.m. This all just "smacks" of a "quickie" to me and not of good gastronomy, at least not in the evenings. No matter how or what, you announce it clearly beforehand, or find a nice solution spontaneously... as so many good restaurateurs do. And you shouldn't advertise the space as an event location if the conditions aren't right. A real shame... and sad again for Königswinter! In addition to your answer below: No, we definitely never discussed having to leave by 11 p.m. ... and when I offered at 10:40 p.m. that we could of course and very happily turn off the music completely (I have 50 witnesses!), you said no and said that otherwise the police would come. There are no two truths, as you say. We're all over 50 and not teenagers, so don't treat us like that. Otherwise, I'm glad you've "only" had good experiences with your guests, but that didn't help us that evening.

delicious breakfast, special ambience, friendly service - we would love to come back

We went to the Jules Verne Café on Sunday and enjoyed a really great breakfast buffet. The selection was varied, fresh and lovingly prepared - there was something for every taste. We would particularly like to highlight the extremely friendly service staff, who made the stay even more pleasant. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back. Absolute recommendation!

We spontaneously made a reservation for breakfast the night before and were absolutely thrilled. The table was beautifully set and everything was perfect. The cheese selection was particularly delicious. The filter coffee and orange juice, which were included in the price, were also excellent. The atmosphere is very cozy, and the buffet was constantly being refilled, ensuring that everything was always available for everyone. The service was also extremely friendly and even gave us a tip for our hike. Thank you for this lovely morning!

Let's start with the coffee, the employee slammed the vacuum jug of coffee on the table without any politeness. (Coffee tasted like instant coffee) unfortunately. The buffet was lavish, the salmon, the tomatoes, the mozzarella, the croissants, the jam was good, the butter and the cream cheese had already expired for 8 days, that shouldn't actually happen. The boiled eggs were also tip top, the rolls tasted like baked rolls from the discount store and looked like them too. The O juice also tasted artificial and had been on the table for a long time so that one edge had already dried up. The bottom line is that for a €17.90 per head buffet, I would have expected a little more quality. The restaurant was well attended, but I think we weren't the only ones who noticed a thing or two. Maybe we'll try it again because you grow from criticism. We weren't angry, it shouldn't be here either. We were rather disappointed that with such a big name like Jules Verne the rest doesn't fit. Too bad.

I ate a piece of apple pie, which I really enjoyed. It also had a rather large latte macchiato. The service was excellent and very friendly. I think the room is beautifully decorated. But I think the chairs could use some cushions. Overall, I was satisfied.

At dinner the waiters were very inattentive, but everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is next to the cable car that goes up to the dragon castle. Everything was delicious, and the owner speaks Spanish and advises you on what to order. The hotel is also beautiful, with themed rooms. Thank you, Amparo, for your attention and warmth. It's appreciated that you are served in Spanish.

We were there for breakfast. Unfortunately the service wasn't good. Were not greeted when we arrived and waited 30 minutes for the waitress to take drinks. Unfortunately he didn't understand German well either. Never came to the table again to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything else, they always had to call over. There were only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant so it wasn't due to lack of time. The food was good, enough to fill you up. We had hoped for more.

We would like to thank the Restaurant Jules Verne and the staff for their helpfulness, friendliness and delicious cuisine. There were many highlights, but the ambience of this restaurant is very good for smaller groups (10-20 people). This made our small wedding a great success.

Reservation was confirmed the day before, for 7 p.m. At 5:20 p.m. I get a call that the kitchen was closed at 6 p.m. due to a lack of staff.

We had a beautiful room with a nice story in the background. The bed is super comfortable. The bathroom has everything you need. It was very pretty. A delicious breakfast buffet in a cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed the stay. Lucky that the wine and wine festival was happening at the same time. We would like to come back next year. 😘👼🍀🐞⚘

We went here for breakfast and we really enjoyed it. For €17.50 you can always get coffee and orange juice refilled. The selection isn't huge but what is there is of very good quality. You will also be asked directly if you would like scrambled eggs. This is then made fresh in the kitchen. We were able to reserve via Google and it also worked to get a high chair straight away. We were both able to specify the reservation directly. The atmosphere is super nice and everything is geared towards Jules Verde. We really liked that! The furnishings are also rustic and nicely done! We'd love to come back!

My career took me to Königswinter. I came across it here and ordered the “Green Chicken” salad. For 15€ a little turkey meat (approx. 60g), a little lettuce, three cherry tomatoes, 4 slices of cucumber, 3 mushy slices of baguette. No herb butter, very carelessly prepared. Service staff tries to inspire professionally. I have to admit, I've had other positive experiences.

Staff was very busy with themselves. After waiting ten minutes we went to a restaurant with attentive staff.

We had made a reservation for breakfast for 4 people. Unfortunately there was only one table available for two. It can happen, we were outside and enjoyed the sun. The selection for breakfast was OK, but a bit poor. The quality was fine.

Until a few months ago, Jules Verne was an insider tip with the tastiest galettes and other delicacies at a good price. The chef has probably changed and today you get bad run-of-the-mill food there at an expensive price. What a shame!

What i like was the freshness of the wood and the home made taste of it. The menu may not be long but has something for everyone to try. They have good buffet breakfast too at the weekends. Their freshly baked cakes are also nice to try. Wide range of drinks are also available! The staffs are very nice and helpful.

We spontaneously looked for a restaurant for dinner and were not disappointed. There is good German Rhineland cuisine and very good French wine here. The currywurst at the neighboring table also looked very good. The service was top. Even if you don't sit directly on the Rhine, the covered terrace under the grapes is very nice and cozy. Highly Recommended!

Went there on a Saturday afternoon and received a friendly welcome from the waitress. What we highly recommend from the drinks is the homemade lemonade... It's very tasty... The dishes here are the classic ones like schnitzel with fries and tarte flambée etc... The waiting time for the food was completely fine and the prices were ok too. We'd love to come back :)

Unfortunately, I have never had such a bad meal for €26.90. Fried potatoes probably came from a package and were drowned in rosemary, the schnitzel was not beaten. The service was okay, the ambience was nice.

It's a nice place to sit at the beginning of the old town and maybe have a drink. The prices are set very high, but that's normal for a tourist spot. We didn't eat anything, we had a light beer and a homemade lemonade. Although the flow of visitors was limited and it wasn't full, neither outside nor inside, we had to wait forever for the waitress to place our order. Then the same time again until the drinks came. A wrong and too small glass was served with the bottled beer and the lemonade was quite small and too sweet for me personally. Everyone can judge for themselves how much of it was homemade. Overall you can say that both the outside area and the toilets were quite clean. We wouldn't come here again, but with these prices at least some of the standards should be right: Attentive and friendly employees and proper glasses are part of it for me.

Contrary to what is shown online, there are no vegan options. The staff and the atmosphere are nice, but it's a shame that an entire target group is simply neglected.

We had breakfast here several times (buffet from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.). Reservation - also online - absolutely necessary! The Jules Verne is part of the Hotel Bergischer Hof in Königswinter. Very nice selection of consistent, high quality dishes such as: Wholemeal rolls, croissants, fruit salad, yoghurt, muesli, cheese, jam, sausage, egg dishes (freshly prepared scrambled eggs!), sausages and bacon and much more. Tea, pot of coffee and orange juice included in the price and not too expensive. Very friendly and courteous service! We'll be back ☺️

It was delicious! Delicious!! There were seven of us. Four adults and three children, all very hungry! And we ate very deliciously, right across the crêpes menu and everything that went with it. The service was very busy, otherwise we would certainly have drunk more, but it was super child-friendly and that's the most important thing. Delicious, friendly and great ambience. What more do you want?!

There were six of us here today and everyone really enjoyed it. The Galettes Nordique were topped with enough salmon and the classic tarte flambée was also very good. The two service staff were extremely friendly and quick! We can recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back!

Today we sat in the very cozy dining room of the restaurant and had a delicious meal. The salad was super fresh and the dressing was very tasty. At my request, the seasonal soup was served without cream and was just as good as the tarte flambée with Camembert, cranberries and spring onions. At the end there was a great coffee and a piece of delicious pear tart. We recommend!

Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Königswinter, very nicely decorated, with an outdoor terrace, which, however, does not have very comfortable chairs. The menu offers something for everyone, both big and small, the selection of cuisine is rather poor, but the cake is very tasty. The service is friendly but unprofessional, there is still room for improvement. Unfortunately, cream is only available in a can, which is also a drawback. Nevertheless, I would recommend the place!

Have been there twice now. Once a few days ago in the evening and once yesterday for the breakfast buffet. Both were disasters. The schnitzel with potato gratin wasn't a hit, and yesterday's buffet was okay for the price, but still not a hit. It has little to do with France just because they put out a cheese plate.

Very nice cafe in Königswinter Service is very attentive and friendly, but had to struggle with relatively fewer tables. Visually, the food looks amazing - lovingly prepared and a fantastic play of colors. However, the sweet potato soup did not meet the visual expectations and was not tasty. Still completely solid products! The interior design is missing one or two details to round it off.

Schnitzel 'Viennese style' was frozen goods, the champion cream sauce was flour mush and the potato gratin was visually reminiscent of potato salad and didn't taste good. Ambience OK However, the entrance door hadn't been cleaned for a long time, which didn't increase my confidence in the kitchen...

Stayed at the adjacent hotel for a work trip. The Jules Verne has a small menu but the food is fresh and tasty. The service is a bit slow and it takes a while for the food to arrive but as long as you're not in a rush, well worth the wait.

Naja, also um einfach nur einen entspannten Kaffe zu trinken, ohne nervige Kellner die einen andauernd fragen: "ob es noch etwas sein darf"; ist es zu empfehlen. Für Gäste welche allerdings etwas Verzehren und Trinken und während und nach dem Verzehr gerne noch weiteren Service erfahren möchten, ist diese Lokalität leider, meiner Erfahrung nach, nicht zu empfehlen. Zudem besteht bereits bei niedriger Gäste Frequenz ein Konzentrations Abschwung des Personals, (bestellte Sachen werden vergessen). Preis-Speisenqualität war angemessen.

Idealer Abschluss für Siebengebirgswanderungen. Gute Lage wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof entfernt. Auf der Karte Getränke und Speisen für jeden Appetit und Geschmack. Empfehlung für Flammkuchen und Hähnchenschnitzel. Sehr netter Service. Wir haben als 7-köpfige Wandergruppe spontan einen Tisch bekommen (Freitags im Januar). Eine Reservierung ist aber sicherlich ratsam.

Wollten eigentlich frühstücken, leider weist ein Zettel am Eingang darauf hin, dass erst ab 12 Uhr geöffnet ist, sehr schade. Bitte die Öffnungszeiten bei gmap pflegen!

Das Ambiente ist wunderschön. Wir waren zum Frühstückbuffet da. Leider ist es überhaupt nicht kreativ und sehr ernüchternd. Das bekommt man zu Hause schnell selbst besser hin. Auch der Filterkaffee war nicht der Hit. Aufbackbrötchen.. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich aber für einen 5 Jährigen 16,95 EUR für das Frühstücksbuffet zu zahlen, haben wir noch nie erlebt. Auf unsere Nachfrage ob das korrekt ist wurde geantwortet dass dies der Preis sei… Das war das teuerste halbe Brötchen und Kakao den mein Sohn jemals verzehrt hat. Wir gehen demnächst lieber in einen der anderen sehr guten Läsen frühstücken.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden! Toller Service, alle sehr freundlich und das Essen sehr lecker!

Ich habe mir ein Crepe Tatin mit karamellisierten Äpfeln bestellt und feste Apfelscheiben erwartet, die in der Pfanne karamellisiert wurden. Die Äpfel erinnerten leider eher an Wackelpudding in ihrer glibberigen, durchsichtigen Art. Sie schmeckten nicht karamellisiert, sondern als wären sie aus der Dose, wobei ich das nur vermuten kann. Das Crepe an sich war in Ordnung. Für 6,90€ erwarte ich mehr. Beim Kartenlesegerät muss man anklicken, ob man einen Prozentteil Trinkgeld geben will bzw. keines. Mir gefällt dieses Modell nicht, da es den sozialen Druck erhöht Trinkgeld zu geben.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal. Zum wiederholten Mal dort gewesen. Diesmal mit der Familie zum Lunch in Kombination mit einer Rheinschifftour! Sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Auf der Speisekarte ist für jeden etwas dabei. Galettes, Flammkuchen und Kartoffelgratin. Dazu Cidre, Kir Jules Verne oder die Hauslimonade. Alles sehr lecker und zu vollster Zufriedenheit! Wir haben das Jules Verne schon oft weiterempfohlen und kommen immer gerne wieder.

Rustikale liebevoll eingerichtete helle Räume. Dezenter Außenbereich. Sehr nettes Personal. Leckeres Essen. Der Salat mit Thunfisch und Ei war sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Die Karte ist übersichtlich und hat für den kleinen Hunger bis hin zur Hauptmahlzeit vieles zu bieten. Die Nachtisch Auswahl ist umfangreich. Hier wird der Eisliebhaber genauso fündig wie der Kuchenschlemmer. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Abend in einem sehr schönen Ambiente. Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letztemal hier.

Hat sich leider verändert / reduziert. Kein Restaurant mehr, sondern eher Snacks und kein vollwertiges Essen mehr. Schade. Habe eigentlich gerne dort mit Freunden gegessen.

Ich finde die hohe Sternebewertung für diesen Ort leider nicht gerechtfertigt. Das Ambiente ist toll. Insbesondere bei guten Wetter kann man auf der Terrasse sitzen. Das Essen hingegen war leider überhaupt nicht gut. Entweder war es zu fad oder zu überwürzt. Der Kartoffelbrei hatte auch eine ganz merkwürdige Konsistenz. Zu den Preisen habe ich mir besseres erwartet. Zudem musste ich etwas länger auf das Essen warten und die Vorspeise kam dann gleichzeitig mit der Hauptspeise. Besser ist es diese nacheinander zu servieren. Der Service war ok - höflich, schien aber manchmal etwas unbeholfen, wie zum Beispiel beim Servieren oder beim Tagesangebot. Es wäre für die Zukunft außerdem gut bei den Gästen während dem Aufenthalt zu fragen, ob alles in Ordnung sei, was bei mir leider nicht der Fall war. Für ein Getränk oder Snacks ist dieser Ort glaube ich gut, aber für mehr aktuell leider nicht. Ich hoffe, dass sich es in Zukunft bessern wird.

Das Abendessen im Hotel Bergischer Hof integriertem Bistro - Jules Verne - war nichtssagend bis echt schlecht. Mein Mann hatte ein Wienerschnitzel von der Tageskarte bestellt, dass den Namen nicht verdiente. Es hinterließ ganz schwer den Eindruck von schlechtem convenience food. Ich habe noch nie eine so merkwürdige Panade gesehen. Das sehr dicke Schnitzel wurde vermutlich mit einer nicht genau bestimmbaren Flüssigpanade zubereitet. Normalerweise wird ein vorher plattiertes Kalbsschnitzel mehliert in ein verquirltes Ei und danach in Semmelbrösel gewälzt und in viel gutem Öl oder noch besser Butterschmalz gebraten. Das macht es dann zu einem Wienerschnitzel. Dieses Schnitzel war sehr, sehr weit davon entfernt. Dazu gab es Kartoffeln in Fett geschwenkt und eine winzige Menge Gurkensalat. Nachdem wir das bei der netten Mitarbieterin moniert hatten, gab es bei der Rechnung einen Abzug von 5 €. Und sie versicherte, dankbar für diese Kritik zu sein und man entscheide, ob dieses Gericht weiter verkauft werde. Aber an alle die das lesen: Bitte bestellt dieses Gericht nicht!!! Es war furchtbar. Ich bestellte den Grünen Ziegenkäse im Salatbett mit Honig und gerösteten Walnüssen aus der normalen Speisekarte. Dieses Gericht war okay.

Sehr leckeres und reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Ich komme gerne wieder.
