Great food, attentive service and great location!

"We recently visited the Altes Fährhaus again and were, as always, thrilled by the excellent quality of the food and service! The terrace is a real gem - a quiet and cozy place to enjoy a good meal and soak up the sun. The service is always friendly and attentive, the waitresses are always smiling and helpful. But the highlight is definitely the salads! We chose the one with sheep's cheese and were thrilled by the fresh and diverse selection of ingredients. The combination of crisp leaves, juicy tomatoes and creamy dressing was just perfect. We always enjoy coming to the Altes Fährhaus because we know that we can expect excellent food and great service here. We are already looking forward to our next visit! 5 out of 5 stars!"

Most beautiful terrace on the Rhine.. The service was incredibly friendly.. I had a lot of laughs with the boss of the house.. the food was fresh and tasty.. the recommendations for the right wine were straight to the point.. Thank you for the pleasant time with you and we'll be happy to come back again and again. My dogs/hiking group wishes you a successful season. See you soon👍🏼🌻

It's unbelievable how they react!! Maybe you should work on your cretic skills. I was also part of the society and fell ill, like almost others 15 PEOPLE!! Now I would probably be quiet with your accusations about the number. For me it started during the night. Your reaction to it really says it all. Our reaction to this will be that we will definitely never enter this store again and will not recommend it to anyone else. We will contact the health department. Have a nice day

We were there as part of an event and what can I say? Almost everyone who ate the side salad had food poisoning the next night. Unbelievable... this can't happen. That was extremely violent. Under no circumstances will we visit this store again. P.S. Your reaction says it all. I will contact the health department. And look forward to receiving comments from other guests. I know 10 alone!!! personally who felt the same way. And it is wrong that the effect sets in immediately. That depends on the pathogen. Do you still remember EHEC???

Excellent food, really fresh and tasty. We chose the jägerschnitzel and the spinatknoedel. We liked that there were some vegetarian options in the menu, which wasn't the case for the other restaurants of the area. The restaurant inside is quite cozy. I highly recommend it.

I see a certain discrepancy between the prices and the ambience. Food was tasty! Strangely enough, there is only Flensburg beer there. And of course wine.

Top food, top wine, top service – the old ferry house impressed us across the board. The rustic decor gives the whole thing a charming, cozy character, but the highlight is clearly the food. The goose was buttery soft, an absolute delight, and the cordon bleu was simply delicious. Particularly worth mentioning is the regional wine, which complements the food perfectly - simply delicious. Everything is just right here - a place you should definitely visit if you're looking for great cuisine

Cozy restaurant with super delicious and plentiful food, right on the Rhine in KöWi

A beautiful, cozy, old inn with a beer garden, located directly on the Rhine. There is a large wine list, not too many, but very tasty, also seasonal dishes. I had water, a Pinot Gris from Rheinhessen, a chicken soup first and as the main course a winemaker's roast with boiled potatoes and salad. When the food comes, the smell hits your nose and your mouth starts watering, then you don't have to say much about it! Eat like your mother's! Highly recommended!

Nice service, great food, great ambience

We simply love the Altes Fährhaus - the boss often makes the bread herself which is simply a heavenly delight! The other dishes are also skillfully and tastefully prepared! Thanks to the chefs!

Today we had a meal in the old ferry house with four people in the afternoon and were treated to delicious food. The atmosphere down there on the Rhine in the beer garden in the shade of a huge plane tree is simply wonderful. The menu, including a board with current daily specials, is clear, but all the dishes we ordered were fresh, tasty and really worth the price. The service also left nothing to be desired. Gladly again.

We were there for dinner with 6 people in sunny weather. Very nice terrace. The food was also very good. The service was extremely quick and friendly, even though it felt like 35 degrees that evening. Quality of the food was very good. The atmosphere that evening couldn't have been better. We really liked what bothered others, if you can deal with the service's sayings like "There's no beer here, we're a wine bar. But there are also Flensburgers..." It all worked out for you nice relaxed evening.

Eating with a view of the Rhine and good, down-to-earth cuisine

The food was ok, although 0/8/15. We came with a group of around 30 people and unfortunately we weren't allowed to order everything, only selected dishes. There was a bowl of fries for 4 people (not enough)!

I always like to come here, especially in autumn/winter when there are mussels. They are prepared very tasty here and served on particularly pretty dishes.

I've wanted to go there for a long time and stopped by spontaneously yesterday. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and you could even have fun together. We had sausage salad with fried potatoes and sheep's cheese. Both very tasty and recommended. The apple spritzer was also very good. It goes without saying that you pay a little more in a location where many day trippers come. We will be back.

A very cozy old wine bar in a beautiful old ambience. The service was very friendly and reordering the side dish (fried potatoes instead of fries) was no problem. The food was fresh, tasty and the portions were very generous.

Unfortunately the conditions were not very friendly. When asked whether there might also be Jägersoße/Jägerschnitzel, the cheeky answer was no, then we would have listed it. We would also have liked to have fried potatoes instead of fries with the schnitzel (fried potatoes are on the menu), but that wouldn't work either, instructions from the kitchen. We're not coming anymore! Positive: We called 30 minutes in advance and got a nice spot with a view of the Rhine.

Sausage salad of horror. Eaten and handed over 15 minutes later. The only thing that was good was the bottled water. Maybe the view but that’s it.

We were there as a group in April. When I ordered a blind Pilsener, the lady with the gray hair gave me a curt answer: "We're a wine bar!" We didn't really feel welcome anyway because we were a relatively young group compared to the other guests. The choice of food this time was very poor. And the food was better quality a year ago. The waitress seemed annoyed and slapped us back into the restaurant like children while we were just outside the door to smoke. In the wrong end, the insistence on professional service was made. The lady came uncomfortably close to us as guests just to insert the water glass into each one. Which we found unpleasant. After the meal, no more drinks were requested and we ultimately had to ask the lady to come to the table to collect. The question was asked twice in a rough tone whether they would be paid together or separately. Conclusion. It's a shame that the red-haired colleague didn't host us again. A year ago, the service from her was top, warm and friendly. I'm just wondering why someone is so rude to their guests.

Very nice wine restaurant atmosphere. No draft beer, with an exclusive view of the floods, delicious Palatinate Saumagen from former Chancellor Kohl and a wide range of regional food and drinks. To recommend!

Super toller Abend mit Freunden! Die Gänsekeule war der Hammer! Rund um alles perfekt!

Hatte das Schnitzel Wiener Art. Es war grausam. Das Schnizel nicht richtig gebraten. Panade noch fast weiß. Bratkartoffeln viel zu ölig und von sehr hell bis völlig dunkel gebraten alles dabei. Das Essen bekommt für mich keinen Stern und war auch nicht essbar. Meine Freundin hatte die Gänsekeule. Die sah sehr gut aus und schmeckte wohl auch. Wenn man alles zusammen fast absolut nicht zu empfehlen

Wir waren gestern Abend mit mehreren Personen im alten Fährhaus in Königswinter. Bei strömenden Regen sind wir ohne Reservierung dort eingekehrt. Es gab tatsächlich einen netten Platz auf der ersten Etage für uns. Der Service war nett und freundlich und das Essen regional geprägt und gut. Alles in allem gut zu empfehlen.

Wie immer, wenn wir in Königswinter sind, müssen wir dort essen und einen guten Wein trinken. Es war sehr lecker 😋 und wie immer nett. Wirklich empfehlenswert!!!

Wir waren gleich 2 Tage hintenander dort, da es uns am ersten Tag so gut gefallen hat. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Das Ambiente ist super und passt genau in diese Gegend. Die Bedienungen sind alle sehr freundlich und locker und haben einen Zugang zum Gast. Wir würden immer wieder hingehen.

Wir haben dort nur etwas getrunken und können daher das Essen nicht bewerten. Aber das Ambiente im Biergarten war sehr angenehm und der Service sehr freundlich. Wenn wir noch einmal nach Königswinter fahren, werden wir gerne erneut dort einkehren.

Sind auf unsere Route von Rüdesheim Richtung Leverkusen am Rhein entlang und haben ein schönes Restaurant gesucht. Sind dann über Google im alten Fährhaus gelandet da wir natürlich auch noch die Aussicht ein wenig genießen wollten . Freundlicher Empfang durch einen schon sehr erfahrene Dame es ging wahrscheinlich aufgrund der hohen Temperaturen alles ein wenig langsamer. Unser Essen( Matjes und Saumagen) Vorspeise ( Schnecken) und Wein waren gut . Aber nicht herausragend. Service hätte ein bisschen umsichtiger sein können. Auch ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

Schöne Lokalität direkt am Rhein mit tollen Ausblick. Die Preise sind etwas sehr hoch, was einen etwas abschreckt, und zum weitersuchen bewegt.

Köstliches Jägerschnitzel mit Klasse Wein in Top Lage!

Gestern Mittag im Alten Fährhaus gewesen. Ambiente auf der Terasse sehr schön, Bedienung freundlich und schnell. Aber die Speise "Schnitzel Wiener Art" hat viel Luft nach oben. Es gab 2 industriell gefertigte papierdünne Schnitzel aus der Friteuse (wir wissen, wovon wir sprechen). Dem Wunsch, das Schnitzel mit Pommes statt Bratkartoffeln serviert zu bekommen, kam die Bedienung nach. Allerdings zu einem Aufpreis von einem Euro. Obwohl das zweite Gericht meiner Frau (Jägerschnitzel) nur mit Pommes angeboten wurde, begründete man meinen Aufpreis mit gestiegenen Ölpreisen - Lächerlich..... Eigentlich sehr schade, dass dieses Gericht mit besserem Schnellimbisscharakter (der Beilagensalat war ok) letztlich auf einen Preis von fast 20€ kommt. Hier gibt es wohl bessere Alternativen. PS: EC Kartenzahlung ging auch nicht, zum Glück genügend Bargeld dabei gehabt.
