Gasthaus Alter Wirt in München

Nach einem tollen Nachmittag machten wir für unser Abendessen gestern Abend einen Zwischenstopp beim Alten Wirt.Wir genossen den Gastgarten für Kinder ist ein Spielplatz dabei.Freundliches Personal,Essen sehr gut und Portionen groß.Wir können das Lokal sehr weiterempfehlen gerade wenn man dann noch eine Stunde in die andere Richtung unterwegs ist.Service geht auch schnell immer gut wenn Kinder mit dabei sind.

Essen war super lecker, Preise für München ok, Biergarten war auch top, Spielplatz für Kinder vorhanden.

Es handelt sich um eine einfache, preisgünstige Unterkunft, die nicht für jeden geeignet ist, aber genau das bot, was ich mir erhofft hatte. Ein funktionales Zimmer mit einem bequemen Bett in einer ruhigen Gegend, nur 5 Minuten von der U-Bahn entfernt, über einer tollen Kneipe und in der Nähe eines Supermarkts, einer Bäckerei und einiger Restaurants.

Riesiges Zimmer für unsere Familie. Sauber , ruhig und großzügig. Ruhige Lage für Stadt. Zentral zum Zoo und Spaziergänge in Thalkirchen. Mitarbeiter bayrisch freundlich. Preis natürlich Münchenlike, aber man kriegt gutes Essen für sein Geld. Toller Biergarten mit Raum für Extra- Wünsche

Ein schöner gemütlicher Biergarten. Sehr freundlicher Kellner. Wenn ihr die Möglichkeit habt dort Spätzle zu essen, macht es. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Hatte noch nie so gute. Ich hatte Schweinelendchen mit Pilzsoße dazu. Eine riesige Portion. Ich hatte aber die kleine. Schon was weggegessen, bevor ich das Bild gemacht habe. Kostenlose Parkplätze vorhanden

Das Hähnchengeschnetzelte mit Tomatensuppe waren sehr gut. Mir gefallen auch die Tische innen - von Profis abgeschliffen und lackiert.

War nur auf ein Helles da am Nachmittag, das war aber nicht gut - weil das Bier überhaupt nicht kalt, sondern eher warm war. Die Bedienung sagte, dass wäre so normal direkt aus dem Faß. Nicht gut.

Ich kann nur das Zimmer beurteilen und nicht das Essen. Das Zimmer selbst war sehr einfach gehalten, aber für ein bis zwei Nächte vollkommen ausreichend, wenn man keine allzu hohen Ansprüche stellt. Das Bett war angenehm zum Schlafen und insgesamt war das Bad in Ordnung. Es gab eine Dusche und auch einen Fön, was für mich absolut ausreichend war. Ein TV war ebenfalls vorhanden, allerdings kam ich mit der Bedienung überhaupt nicht zurecht. Das war für mich aber nicht weiter schlimm, da ich ohnehin noch arbeiten musste. Bei der Sauberkeit sollte man allerdings besser nicht zu genau ins Detail schauen. Außerdem gab es zwar ein Doppelbett, aber nur eine Lampe am Bett, was etwas unpraktisch war. Die Steckdose zum Laden des Handys war leider auch recht weit vom Bett entfernt. Positiv hervorheben möchte ich auch den sehr freundlichen Empfang. Man wurde nett begrüßt und fühlte sich direkt willkommen. Gut fand ich außerdem die Lage: Fußläufig gibt es einen Bäcker sowie einen Edeka und einen Netto. Außerdem stehen Parkplätze direkt auf dem Grundstück zur Verfügung, was in der Gegend wirklich hilfreich ist, da ansonsten fast überall nur Anwohnerparken oder Parken mit Parkschein möglich ist. Insgesamt also eine einfache, praktische Unterkunft für einen kurzen Aufenthalt.

Nettes Gasthaus, Service war Mega Schnell, Essen kam schnell und war auch sehr gut. Waren nur zum Essen, Zimmer haben wir nicht gesehen daher kann ich Sie nicht bewerten.

Mit einer Gruppe unterwegs. Schnelle Bedienung, gutes, bayrisches Essen. Zum Glück gibt es kleine Portionen. Im Sommer auch Biergarten. In Zoo-Nähe.

Wir haben relativ spontan am Samstag im Restaurant noch Platz für 16 Personen bekommen. Der Service war wirklich sehr schnell, freundlich, und das Essen absolut phänomenal. Würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Mega altbayrisches Ambiente, super Essen. Da kann man jederzeit herkommen!

Wir waren nur zum Mittagessen hier, nach einem ausgiebigen Tierparkbesuch in Hellabrunn mit Freunden. Sehr schönes altes Restaurant, gutes Bier der Löwenbrauerei, wir teilen uns eine Rinderbrühe mit Pfannkuchenstreifen, danach wie so oft gute Kässpätzle und auch gute 1/4 Ente mit Knödel und Blaukraut. Obstler und Weinschorle auch sehr empfehlenswert, durchgängig warme Küche!

Kann Zimmer nicht beurteilen. War bereits sehr oft hier essen, aber heute den Vogel abgeschossen. "Gegrillter Lachs mit Spargel und Kartoffeln" für 27€ - ein absoluter Witz. Ich ärgere mich aus Hunger alles bis auf die kalten, abgestandenen und teils in der Mitte trotzdem rohen Mikrowellenkartoffeln aufgegessen zu haben. Der Lachs war auch nicht gegrillt sondern totgebraten, und 1,5 Stangen Spargel lieblos auf den Teller geklascht (siehe Bild). Ein absoluter Affront und ne Beleidigung. Wenn dann noch der Kellner "Ja, ich weiß, ich kann nichts dran ändern" sagt, weiß man schon Bescheid. Service ist nett, Standort auch gut, zum Bier trinken OK. Küche hat mich nicht zum ersten Mal enttäuscht, aber wie gesagt: Vogel abgeschossen diesmal. Mich seht ihr nicht wieder.

Die Zimmsr sind groß, die Möbel aber etwas verbraucht. Die Lage ist Top! UBahn + Iser sind nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Im Gasthof selbst gibt es leckerea Essen und einen gemütlichen Biergarten.

Die Qualität der Speisen ist einwandfrei. Das Ambiente im Biergarten sehr schön. Die Preise außerhalb der Mittags Angebote sind gehoben.

Wir können lediglich das Essen bewerten, da wir hier schon oft über Lieferando bestellt haben. Die Lieferung kommt jedes mal sehr schnell, warm und sehr gut verpackt an. Sonderwünsche werden immer berücksichtigt und geschmacklich einfach hervorragend!! Vielen Dank😊

Das Essen war Mittags unter der Woche mittelmäßig, die Ente relativ trocken. Kann man grundsätzlich bei Hunger machen, aber wäre keine Empfehlung von mir.

Urige Bayrische Gaststätte, rustikal eingerichtet. Sehr gutes Essen, bayrisch und Burger. Ausreichend große Auswahl an Speißen und Getränken. Sehr gutes Personal, immer freundlich und auf Zack. War nach längerer Zeit wieder hier, die Gaststätte hat stark nachgelassen. Essen war mehr kalt wie warm und nicht im Ansatz so gut wie früher. Im Moment nicht empfehlenswert.

Das Essen war 10/10 und der Service erstklassig. Der tätowierte Kellner mit den dunklen Haaren war einer der besten, die ich je kennengelernt habe.

Die Gaststätte ist wirklich zu empfehlen. Ein ruhiges Lokal, mit sehr gutem Essen, große Portion und auch preislich i. O. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und wirklich auf Zack. Bei den Zimmern kommt es drauf an welches man bekommt. Unser Sohn hatte im 2. Stock ein schönes, großes Zimmer. Wir waren im 3 Stock (51 Stufen) und hier was das Zimmer kleiner. Hätte uns weniger gestört, aber da eine Dachschräge im Zimmer ist, war es umständlich ins Bett zu gelangen. Bei der linken Seite musste man gebückt ins Bett, aber rechts musste man vom Fußende her rein krabbeln, da das Bett direkt an der Wand stand. Die Dusche ist auch klein und der Duschvorhang klebt dadurch gern am Körper. Da wir ja nur zum Schlafen dort waren und ein Parkplatz vorhanden war, hat es gepasst. Es kommt wirklich auf das Zimmer an. Hätten wir das von unserem Sohn gehabt, wäre es wesentlich besser gewesen. Die Gaststätte ist aber wirklich sehr zu empfehlen und die Lage war für uns perfekt.

Im sehr schönen Nebenraum hatte ich meine Geburtstagsfeier. Meine Gäste waren sehr zufrieden, das Essen ausgezeichnet und der Kellner Luigi ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. So freundlich bedient zu werden ist selten - danke dafür !!

Zimmer kann ich nicht beurteilen, da ich nur essen war. Bayrische Gastronomie, sehr lecker 😋. Wir hatten Paprika-Gulasch mit Knödel und gemischter Salat sowie ein Krustenbraten mit Knödel und Krautsalat. Fleisch durchgehend mager, so dass alles mit Appetit gegessen werden konnte, Krautsalat der Hit und Knödel sowieso gut. Sehr zu empfehlen. Gesagt werden muss außerdem sehr nette junge männliche Bedienung, trotz relativ vielen Gästen keine Hektik verbreitet, immer freundlich und mit Lächeln bedient. Sehr zu empfehlen, nicht zuletzt durch sehr gute Lage Nähe Tierpark, bzw Bus 135 und U-Bahn-Station U3 Thalkirchen, plus eigene Parkplätze

Wir waren heute dort das erste Mal essen. Wurden freundlich empfangen, die Karte wurde uns direkt gegeben, so dass wir uns was zu trinken aussuchen konnten. Kurz darauf, brachte er uns unsere Getränke und wir konnten direkt das Essen bestellen. Nach ungelogenen circa 5 Minuten kam der Kellner und brachte uns unser Essen. Ich hatte ein Cordon bleu für 21,90 € und es war für den Preis ausreichend groß und lecker. Wir waren beide baff wie schnell das ging. Bei meiner Begleitpersonen jedoch der das Essen auch geschmeckt hat, waren leider zwei Haare im Essen daher nur vier Sterne. Aber ansonsten würde ich dieses Gasthaus weiterempfehlen. LG

Bier war Hammer. Die Bedienung war sofort da um die Bestellung aufzunehmen. Das Essen ging schnell aber hatte Unglaublich professionelle Qualität. Auch beim bezahlen kam die Bedienung noch mit den Getränken vom anderen Tisch in der Hand um das abzuwickeln. Noch während Die Dame unser Geld entgegen genommen hat war sie schon die Getränke für den anderen Tisch am austeilen. Ich habe gutes Trinkgeld gegeben und zurecht! Wenn ihr gutes Essen mögt und ein typisch Bayrisches Gasthaus liebt, kommt hierher!

Der alte Wirt gehört zu unseren mit am meist besuchten Gaststätten. Das Ambiente ist toll, das Essen gut und die Preise fair. Allerdings ist der Service leider langsam und unaufmerksam. Tatsächlich finde ich es auch schade, dass wir als Stammgäste nicht wiedererkannt werden. Trotzdem wird der Alte Wirt unsere Stammgaststätte bleiben.

I've been going to the Alte Wirt regularly for 13 years, at least three times a month. Unfortunately, it feels like my first visit every time: there's no recognition whatsoever, no friendly, personal word. Since many of the staff have been working there for years, this can hardly be due to staff turnover. Over the years, the service has deteriorated significantly in my opinion. You often have to wait a long time to be served, and genuine friendliness is sadly rare. Nevertheless, I still enjoy coming for the food, which remains very good.

Wir haben hier sehr leckere und gute bayrische Küche gegessen. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente ist wie man sich ein bayrisches Gasthaus vorstellt, sehr gemütlich. Sehr gutes Oreu Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Es ist sehr gut mitdenken öffendlichen Verkehrsmittel zu erreichen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Friendly service, cozy inn Duck (€21.90): Large portion, tender meat with a lovely, deep game flavor, pleasantly salty and partly crispy skin. Glossy, noticeably acidic gravy (I've had it spicier, but it was good). Red cabbage flavorful, not too sweet or sour, with distinct onion notes, hearty. Minor criticism: The acidity of the gravy and the red cabbage clashed and didn't complement each other very well. Overall, down-to-earth, I like it!

We had lunch here with the family. A brief email inquiry was answered very promptly and helpfully, and the reservation by phone was easy and the service was very friendly. The food was varied and delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Anyone looking for good Bavarian cuisine will not be disappointed. We will definitely come back!

I absolutely do not recommend the accommodation, for that kind of money one would expect something better and not mold on the walls near the windows, the windows do not seal so that every morning there was a pool of water under them. Under the beds they had not been swept for a very long time, the walls have also outlived their usefulness, the doors are peeling... something disgusting. I do not recommend.

Near the Heilbronn Park and Zoo youth hostel lies the restaurant "Der Alte Wirt" with its spacious, cozy rooms. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The menu is clearly structured and offers both a daily specials menu and an evening menu. Dishes can be ordered in two portion sizes – ideal for larger or smaller appetites. The food is of good quality, and the prices are fair and reasonable.

Disclaimer - Racist Venue My friend and I have travelled to more than 30 countries, and never have we felt as humiliated as we did here. We walked in excited to enjoy a Bavarian meal, but instead we were completely ignored while other guests were served immediately. Standing there, waiting, hoping someone would acknowledge us — it genuinely hurt. It made us feel invisible, unwelcome, and completely out of place. No traveller, no person, should ever be made to feel like that. This experience ruined our evening and left a painful memory of Munich. I truly hope the management understands how deeply this affects people and ensures no guest is ever treated this way again.

I was here yesterday evening, and was racially discriminated by the service staff as they never came to serve us, inspite of us being seated for 25 mins. We did try to wave and call for them politely, but they acted all busy. What made it worse was all the white people who came after us got served and were gen half way done with the pint when we figured out what was going. Hope there is action take on the 3 waiters from last night (15/11/2025)

We were at the Gasthaus Alter Wirt today, in the beer garden at the back. It was sunny, and our 2.5-year-old daughter was enjoying the small playground – perfect for eating outside, we thought. The waiter looked at us and simply told us to go inside, as there was no room outside. Odd, because there were several free tables and it wasn't crowded. Our daughter was just about to sit down at an empty table when we had to explain to her that it was "not allowed." She was, of course, disappointed. We decided to at least eat inside, and my wife calmly asked if we could perhaps stay outside – after all, more tables were becoming available. The waiter turned around, looked at her, and shouted in a tone that was simply disrespectful: "NO, NO SEATS!" And this despite the fact that there were several free tables on the left side – according to the sign, the area where table service is provided. So I'm not even talking about the right side. Even other guests who were leaving told us to sit down; they also found the behavior strange. After such an unfriendly, arrogant manner, we honestly had no desire to spend another cent there. Very unprofessional and disrespectful treatment of guests—especially families. Anyone who speaks to people like that should perhaps reconsider whether the hospitality industry is the right profession for them. It's a shame, the place would have been lovely.

Delicious food, excellent value for money! It's definitely worth coming back from Baden-Württemberg to Bavaria. A big thank you for the wonderful atmosphere – we'll gladly come again!

Yesterday, six of us, along with our little dog, spontaneously stopped by the Alten Wirt for lunch. Although the restaurant was very busy, we received prompt and friendly service. The food was delicious and good value for money. We'd be happy to come back.

Great stop to have a meal and beer about 15- 20 min drive from city centre. We bought only 3 meals for a family of four and lucky because they were massive. Price was around 18 each euro which i think was reasonable and the quality was fantastic. Atmosphere was also fun, busy but not anxious with a local ban play folk music. Very good first german pub experience.

Extremely unfriendly waiter in the beer garden. After waiting for half an hour without a chance to order (we felt like we were being deliberately overlooked), we left. It's a shame—I remembered the place as being much better.

It was packed. People felt comfortable. The food was good, Bavarian, of course. The beer was good, too. But there was also good wine. It's just the way it is that some people don't behave.

Last night, my wife and I had dinner at the Gasthaus Alter Wirt. We both enjoyed simple food. I had a deliciously prepared sausage salad, and my wife had fried potatoes with a fried egg and salad. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and presented. The portion sizes were above average. Our waiter, who we learned was of Croatian origin, was very friendly and attentive. We will remain loyal to the Gasthaus Alter Wirt and eat there again on our next visit to Munich!

There's still such a thing: an honest, down-to-earth Munich restaurant where retirees can still play cards (or are allowed to). Good food, a large, varied menu, friendly service, and a lovely, shady outdoor area. Always happy to return.

We only stopped in the beer garden for dinner. The seating outside is quite comfortable, but hard, on the classic chairs. The waiter only spoke the bare minimum, and then only when asked. Must be the Bavarian charm. The food itself was rather average; the meat was cooked well despite our request for medium, and the sauce had a hint of gravy powder. Well, at least it wasn't cheap. Munich, after all.

The price/performance ratio is right. Very hospitable. We'll be back.

The food arrived quickly. Our two dishes (Tiroler G'röstl with roast beef, potato dumpling G'röstl with vegetables and egg) were a great combination with some salad. Happy hour from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 8 p.m. onward, each liter of beer is €8.90. 🍺

The waiter was exceptionally friendly, and the food was simply excellent. We highly recommend it; if you're ever in Munich, it's definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is very nice.

We weren't so satisfied. It was a large room with lots of customers. It was very loud. The waiters were stressed. We were overlooked several times at the table for our orders. The food, however, was very good.

We visited this restaurant yesterday. I've rarely tasted such good spaetzle. The roast pork in dark beer sauce with dumplings and coleslaw was also excellent. The server was friendly and accommodating. Reasonable prices for the good quality of the food.

We went there for dinner yesterday with seven people, and we ate and drank. Unfortunately, the waiter apparently didn't listen to us properly when we ordered and brought us eight main courses. When we asked if eight main courses made sense for seven people, he simply told us that we had ordered that... When we were paying, he suddenly said that the schnitzel would cost €20, even though we all wanted the €15.90 schnitzel from the daily special. When we asked him again, he replied that he had brought us the large schnitzel, which is why it cost €20... which makes me wonder again: why isn't this asked when ordering?! Just like the additional main course... All in all, a very disappointing performance by the waiter. Next time, we will deliberately sit at a table where he isn't serving!

Beautiful beer garden, pleasant atmosphere

It's actually quite promising with children, as there's even a playground. However, the service was truly unacceptable. The food was good overall, but nothing special.

We were visiting Munich from beautiful Hamburg for a few days and stayed at the Gasthaus zum Alten Wirt – and what can we say? Simply fantastic! We received a very warm welcome as soon as we arrived – we were offered something to drink and asked how the trip was. Such a friendly start just makes you feel good right away. Our room was incredibly cozy and clean – we immediately felt at home. And even when we spontaneously wanted to add another night, it wasn't a problem at all – we could even stay in the same room. The food at the inn was also truly delicious, and the service was consistently warm and attentive. You can tell that the work here is done with love. In summary: A fantastic place with a truly feel-good factor. Good food, super friendly service, and comfortable rooms – we would come back anytime!
