We visited the Rechthaler Hof restaurant in Munich on the way back from Garmisch. The restaurant is located directly at the main train station. The atmosphere is very nice and the service was very friendly and attentive. A star deduction for the menu because we had to choose twice because the dishes from the standard cooking menu were sold out shortly after 12 p.m. So we had to take what was available and not what we wanted.

Very good food in a nice atmosphere and courteous service. We'd love to come back.

We went for Sunday brunch today. It was legendarily delicious ambience, a ten out of ten staff and service a ten out of ten food and quality a ten out of ten. Always my pleasure. Only recommended…!!!

Aside from the two Germans - one who keeps pointing and laughing at me and the other foreign guests, and one who keeps staring at me and making me feel uncomfortable - everything else was pretty good.

It looked exactly like you would imagine a Bavarian tavern to look like, BUT we were led in, straight to the kitchen, only to be shooed back to the other side. Then bills and receipts were checked at the table opposite for a quarter of an hour (don't you do something like that after closing time or in a separate office?), I asked for a recommendation as to what went with what I wanted to order. Answer "whatever you want"...um...ok.... I don't understand all the good reviews about the food. The potato seed is tasty, but otherwise... Spaetzle is not spaetzle, but knöpfle and comes completely without sauce, but only tastes like butter, bread like rubber, dumplings firm and chewy, not tasty, I didn't finish them and asked if they were are homemade/homemade or freshly made. Answer “no idea”. .... Service otherwise friendly and quick. Too fast, because my mushrooms were also rubbery, i.e. from a can, and the food itself wasn't hot, just lukewarm. There are no children's portions either. :( Our table was so close to the kitchen that we heard shouting and hustle and bustle all the time, as well as noises like vacuum cleaners for several minutes and we weren't there at peak time, but earlier in the evening, late afternoon. The price is ok, but nothing more. All in all a rather average experience. Not for dinner again.

At the last minute and despite everything very friendly and hospitable. Boys/girls - my respect! The visit was worth it and I'll be back next week. Unfortunately I can't judge the food, it was late.

Just cozy and perfect. We didn't have a reservation and still got a good table. The food and drinks are top. The staff, especially Rosa, were very accommodating and friendly. Because we liked it, we went back the next day and weren't disappointed. The only drawback...the toilets could be cleaner 😉

The large one was not normal, we eat it together at home. The kitchen was actually already closed, but if I ordered quickly I was allowed to go inside.

Very good restaurant. Excellent knuckle and beers. Very well priced. The only problem was that we booked with Google and when we arrived they didn't have the reservation. I explained that I had the confirmation in my email and at the restaurant they told me that no one from Google had told them anything. I think Google should reflect on how it acts with its reservations

I can't say anything about the food because the not very friendly gentleman at the counter graciously gave us a table but immediately informed us that we wouldn't get anything to eat. We had to wait two hours for a train so we sat down and ordered drinks. At around 1 p.m. the restaurant was pretty empty, but even then we weren't offered any food to order. So it stayed with drinks. The inn is very nice and quaint. The location at the main train station is very good. The toilet, however, should be renovated. There is a strong smell of urine here, some of the tiles are broken. No hygiene products available...

The atmosphere is rustic, the staff are classic Bavarian and the food is a real treat! The inn may be in an unusual area right next to the train station but it was a great surprise on the way home. Before our train left we wanted some good food and were rewarded for this decision!

We had a great evening with delicious food and an absolutely fantastic Maria who served us very friendly. Thank you again. Would love to come back.

Great place if you dont mind Mice and Cockroaches running through the dinning room. Staff finds this kind of stuff amusing and named the Mouse Jerry.

This is the second time I have been to this inn and I am thrilled again! The freshly prepared suckling pig is an absolute highlight – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and incredibly tasty. You can immediately tell that quality is important here. I find it particularly impressive that the meat is prepared fresh every day in our own oven, exactly as it should be. The team is extremely friendly and creates an authentic, welcoming atmosphere. A place where you simply feel good and are spoiled with culinary delights. Absolutely recommended!

We were served by a tall lady with a ponytail who always smiled and cared about the needs of the guests from time to time, making the guests feel at home. The meals were large and delicious, and the beer was delicious. I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Munich.

When we are in Munich, we love going to the Rechthaler Hof inn. It's cozy, you can eat well or just have a drink there and you'll always receive a friendly welcome and friendly service. The veal schnitzel is a dream 🥰

Last night we spontaneously decided to go on a date here. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly! We tried a few different dishes and every single one was exceptional.

We had dinner with 15 people. Portions were plentiful and the taste was also super good. We'll be back.

Unfortunately, some of the service staff are very unfriendly (the gentleman at the counter who distributes the tables). Food is good, but often without side dishes, which you then have to add to each dish. Have been here several times, if the service and prices were a little friendlier, I could recommend the restaurant.

(VISIT DATE AND TIME: FRIDAY, 3.1.2025, APPROXIMATELY 20:35) AVOID IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SHOUTED AT BY AN ANGRY EMPLOYEE. Yesterday me and two friends went to the restaurant to have a calm late evening meal and enjoy our time, but sadly the middle aged waiter had other plans for us, as soon as we got seated it was absolutely obvious to us that he had no intention to serve well and do his job efficiently. When the bill finally came, we wanted to separate it so each of us pays exactly for what he got, but no the waiter didn’t like it at all and started throw a fit as if we wanted to do something forbidden or rude, but no we just wanted to pay our bill and go home, because our night was absolutely ruined by his unpleasant attitude towards us. At the end when we were about to leave he started even arguing with us and raising his voice and literally threw a tantrum, which made us feel threatened by him. It’s so sad to see a grown up human being act as unpleasant and unprofessional as he did. And not to mention that when ever we tried to order something he would repeat the sentence: “ich habe keine Zeit, ich habe andere Gäste.” But at the end it was okay for him to argue with us for over 5 minutes. If you can’t handle the pressure of a job just quit already because people come and pay to eat and have some fun, not to be shouted at by an angry employee.

An exceptionally clean and well-maintained restaurant with excellent customer service.

Restaurant with a typical Bavarian atmosphere and traditional dishes. It could have been an extremely positive evening but unfortunately we were disappointed by the behavior of the waiter. Also due to the language barrier, once we had chosen the dishes which also included the side dishes, it made us understand that instead of the fried potatoes we could have another type of side dish (however potato-based). He gave very thorough advice but forgot to specify that this involved a cost (over 14 euros for three). And he also asked for a tip!!! We felt cheated!!! I recommend paying attention to false kindnesses and advice aimed at ripping people off! A little honesty wouldn't hurt!!

A visit to the inn - an experience that you don't forget so quickly, but unfortunately you don't remember it fondly either. 1. Waiting time for a seat: It felt like we waited longer for a table than for a new Oktoberfest date. No problem if everything works fine afterwards - but it didn't. 2. Service: After 10 minutes the menu finally arrived. Probably because the waiter happened to walk past our table. You obviously feel like a second class guest here - or third class. 3. Weissbier Gate: The first wheat beer? 2 cm of foam under the calibration line. On the second attempt: 1 cm. Progress, but just short of it, is also over. When I asked the waiter about it, he explained to me with stoic composure that in Bavaria there is a lot of foam. It remained unanswered whether there was also a lot of beer involved. Tip? He basically took it “in advance”. 4. Food: The schnitzel was okay, but not outstanding. The cranberries – the main side dish! – were simply forgotten. When asked when paying, the waiter said with a shrug that he “didn’t know anymore”. It can happen, but why so much at once? 5. Overall impression: Listless waiters, food without heart, and the beer... well, it just falls short of expectations. Conclusion: If you're looking for little beer, lots of foam and missed side dishes, you'll find what you're looking for here. Fortunately, there are enough alternatives for everyone else in Munich. Cheers, but somewhere else!

What an incredible experience! It was our first visit and our waiter really made it special. They suggested burgers and fries and I have to say – they were absolutely phenomenal.

Every dish was a masterpiece. The ingredients were top notch and it showed in every bite.

Had lunch at lunchtime...so far everything was good...the menu was on the table and the waitress brought the lunch menu!!! (we had lunch) then ordered onion roast beef from the lunch menu for €18.90...when the bill came...we were charged €32.90 instead of €18.90... .....when we pointed out that something might be wrong, we said we should have said something about it from the lunch menu... Sorry for the rip off!!!

We had an hour or so to burn while waiting for our train out of Munich, and this place is conveniently located right near the station! We were surprised to find a decent traditional German spot so close to the Hauptbahnhof and had doubts as to its authenticity. But we were pleasantly surprised to find the inside decked out in typical Bavarian decor and tons of Christmas decorations (we came in December). The staff was amazing (Lederhosen and Dirndls) and so friendly and helpful in ordering. We got some of the Münchner Schnitzels, which come with a great cucumber potato salad side and horse radish inside and atop the Schnitzel. And it's surprisingly inexpensive for the portions! Everything was tasty, but the real star was the Apfelkücherl for dessert, which the waitress convinced us to get instead of our naïve initial selection of the pancakes. I'm so glad she steered us in the right direction because dang were the donuts fantastic! We're very happy we stopped in here, so I highly recommend to anyone looking for a solid, quick German meal while they wait for their train, or just because they're hungry!

Was here on New Year's Eve 2024 and had to pass the time until my train left. This is a great success in this typically Bavarian inn. First-class service served the dishes that you would expect in Bavaria (I had liver dumpling soup and roast pork), plus an excellent wheat beer (Ayinger Urweisse). Extremely close to the north exit of Munich Central Station, I can highly recommend this restaurant.

We have been to the Rechthaler Hof several times because the food always impresses us. The Bavarian specialties are really excellent, and the rustic, traditional ambience invites you to linger. Unfortunately, we always notice that the service is not particularly friendly. That's a real shame, as it always spoils the otherwise positive impression. We would love to come back because of the food and the lovely atmosphere, but we would be very happy if the service was a little warmer. Then it would be perfect!

Five of us had lunch here today and I am very happy that we chose this restaurant. I've been here several times for Sunday brunch and today I ate à la carte for the first time and I was really impressed. The food was ready really quickly and tasted great too. Price performance was definitely right. Each dish was around €20 but the portions were also very large and filled you up. The restaurant is exactly as you would imagine a German restaurant to be. It's nice and quaint and cozy. Our service was very nice and friendly. Can only recommend this restaurant. For brunch and normal eating.

As always, it was an excellent experience. The food was fantastic and the presentation was great.

The colleague was enthusiastic about the suckling pig, unfortunately my duck was no longer so warm and one dumpling was a bit small. The beer was very tasty. Service itself was good. You should make reservations for safe places, especially in groups. Card payment is possible.

TLDR: bad food, worse service We ordered the grilled duck and schweinshaxe The meats were tough and dry, like they've been sitting under a heat lamp for hours before service. The apple strudel dessert was bland, and the cream sauce had clumps of flour in it. Service was bad to the point of being insulting. We were ignored for at least 10 minutes after walking in. When we finally got the attention of a waiter, he simply said we'd have to wait without a reservation. I informed him that we did in fact have a reservation, and he seemed angry at having to go out of his way to look up our name.

Very good service and the food was also very tasty. The waitress was very friendly and they even made me a meal shortly before the kitchen closed. Thanks also to the chef. 5 stars 🌟

Love the atmosphere and decor Service was quick. Dark beer from barrel was good. Cant finish 500ml as we have small tummies. Roast pork with dark beer sauce was good. Potato soup with veinese sausage was rich and thick. Good for this cold weather. Wife loved the apple strudel we had for dessert . Overall good dining experience.

I'm Japanese. It was right next to the hotel and I went in by myself. An easy-to-enter restaurant to enjoy German cuisine. The store staff worked hard and responded kindly and properly. I think everyone has their own tastes when it comes to cooking. For the sausage in the food photo, I ordered the Bavarian sausage plate. I gave a 10% tip.

There is a very nice and friendly atmosphere. 🔵I added the menu to the photos. 🔵We chose sausage, beer and schnitzel. The sausages were generally good, but unfortunately the schnitzel did not arrive as we expected. We had imagined it would be crispier. The schnitzel only comes with jam, so we added extra potato salad. The sausage base was perfectly fine.

Wonderful dinner on our last night in Munich! Book ahead! We came early and the host was very friendly and took good care of us. Our server was very fun and offered English menus…excellent service. The food was delicious! Great experience and our go to when we return…let’s hope the new train station is completed LOL!!

Danger! Hidden prizes! I ordered a breaded pork schnitzel. When the bill came, I had to pay extra for fries! I also ordered a small mixed salad (6.00 euros!) and 0.2 l apple juice (4.10 euros!). This restaurant is overpriced! For comparison, a roast pork in a very good Bavarian restaurant on Marienplatz and the surrounding area costs 18.50 euros and you don't have to pay any extra for any side dishes! In addition, the toilets were unkempt and not clean!

Incredibly great/good service (from Alex and Danny - I hope the names are correct). The two of us came to this inn shortly after 10 p.m. and we were warmly told that we were still welcome - even if the kitchen was already closed. Drinks were served to us very quickly and with a smile. We were thrilled, would love to come back and can therefore absolutely recommend this inn.

We were there for brunch. The economy is very nice and cozy. The waitresses are attentive and orders are delivered quickly. The brunch buffet was extensive and everything was available for hearty Bavarian lovers (duck, roast pork, white sausage). Fish, vegetables, antipasti, pudding, cakes, sausage platters and salads are also available and a little later the Kaiserschmarren was even added. There was also a basket of fruit, but it could have been a little more. Otherwise everything was plentiful and everything we ate from the buffet was very tasty! It is highly recommended for lovers of hearty brunches! Gladly again!

We actually got a free table on a Friday evening without a reservation. We really enjoyed the food, cordon bleu and schnitzel Viennese style, and the portion was more than enough! The service was also very friendly, the atmosphere was very appealing and the price was also ok for Munich standards. We will definitely come back next time we are in Munich!!!

I ordered half a Bavarian duck and half a beer. The duck was tasty, but a little expensive at €28 and it could have been a little crispier. A dumpling and some sauerkraut were served as a side dish. Here I would have hoped for an additional portion of dumplings (included in the price), as one piece is already quite small. But the dumplings and sauerkraut tasted great. The beer was freshly tapped, but after a short time it tasted a little pale. The service was extremely friendly, humorous and very accommodating. All in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant, the humorous waiter alone makes the visit definitely worth it.

Friendly staff with very good English as well as a menu in English. Roast Pork shoulder was wonderful. Wife had schnizel ans was very well please. Good choice. There was a line 10 people, mostly locals, waiting for the restaurant to open. That is a sign of something special.

Warm cozy ambience. Food is flavourful. We had potato soup with bacon, sausage and hell beer. Staff are absolutely helpful and friendly. I was translating the menu with google translate when a staff notice and gave me an English menu right away. We’ll definitely come back again to try all other food.

The portions are really huge so that even the most hungry ones will fill you up. With the Jägerschnitzel the sauce could have been a little thicker then it would have been perfect.

Incredibly rude. Our group had a reservation at 8pm. After a long day of walking around the city, we wanted a drink but we arrived a bit early (around 1 hour). We politely asked for a table perhaps is available? The waiter at the front desk loudly said "NO, NO WAY. The reservation is at 8 p.m." Just made no sense what the big problem was, we only asked politely if they could accommodate us a little bit earlier. A pity, because the food was nice 🤷 Won't be going back.
