This place is an absolute recommendation, during our stay in Munich we went twice and the truth is it is perfect. The scitzel plate is for 2 people. There were 3 of us and we ordered 2 dishes to share of chicken or pork. 10/10

Schnitzel was delicious, rest was bad... bad service. Came in 2 parts, first Schnitzel was not really warm, 2nd was 5 minutes later. Ordered salad arrived when the first schnitzel was already gone. White wine was lukewarm. It's all a bit of a shame. The one schnitzel that was warm was certainly tasty. Wouldn't go back there again.

It's as good as the comments! We walked 30 minutes to get there (even passing near the square where the latest news from Munich was), it was very full, but they still accommodated us at a table. 2 schnitzel Turkey and pork, with salad and fries! 3 people ate perfectly. I hope to return soon. I recommend going with a prior reservation. The attention of the boy from Spain was very good.

I've been here many times but unfortunately the service has deteriorated a lot. There is far too little service, you are treated far too badly, but the food is actually really tasty, but unfortunately the service has become abysmally bad. It's a shame for a shop that I love because of the great food and good price-performance ratio.

Traditional German food. Everything was delicious, the waiters were very nice and friendly. If you order the pork schnitzel, say that it is very large. You can take everything with you in case you don't finish it. We definitely recommend it.

Very disappointing and overrated place. The staff treated better locals than tourists giving them free tables out of the order. The food by itself was just regular, nothing special. If you to have a good time and a tasty meal, look for another restaurant.

Perfect schnitzels. Enough for one adult and one child. Even the espresso is really good. Hausbrandt. And that's what a barista says. Great price-performance ratio.

It's delicious, but it's just a thinly fried cutlet, and for 17€ it's quite a rip-off. The cutlet you eat in Japan is cheaper and more delicious. I don't know why this is famous. I'd rather eat chili corn carne than schnitzel. When I went there, there was a line, and the staff should have been managing the line. There are quite a lot of people skipping the line.

MUST READ BEFORE YOU ORDER: TL:DR - portions are huge, consider sharing! So, we got here from the city center especially because we wanted a nice schnitzel place experience and this place was just the thing. We were 2 people and had the turkey schnitzel and the pork, and we realized it was just too much food going to be wasted... The dish comes with a small lettuce salad and fried potatoes but you can (and should) replace them with potato salad (Kartoffeln salad) which I think was great and balanced all the oil in the schnitzel. We had the house beer (they have small portion of 220ml or 0.5ml) which was also nice. Service was good and with a smile. I recommend reserving a table if it's a rush hour (noon or evening) because this place is popular!

I don't understand the many good reviews. The service was disastrous. Even after asking several times about the bill, there was no response. The waitress preferred to chat behind the counter, play on her cell phone or eat herself. After 20 minutes one of the waiters took pity on us. About the food: My schnitzel was soaked in fat and the salad had more sauce than salad. The fries also taste better at Macces. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

One dish from the daily menu was unfortunately disappointing (broccoli with gorgonzola and hash browns from the freezer). It's better to stick with the well-known, great classics that Steinheil is famous for (schnitzel and chilli con carne).

I can definitely recommend the restaurant and at the same time give the tip to reserve online in advance, we didn't do that on the first try and didn't get a seat. The dishes definitely taste good and, depending on the staff, they come pretty quickly. The service staff are super friendly and regularly ask if everything is ok. The reason why I didn't give full stars is because there is a shortage of skilled workers here too and there can be waiting times, especially during fabric times, but remember, where there is something good, there is always something going on and it takes time just sometimes. Schnitzel is very big like. Even if you are empty stomach you can share this dish with one person. There was a coldplay concert so city was crowded. Dont know if its related but we waited 20minutes in line. Its better to make a reservation

Super tasty food and quick preparation. You should definitely make a reservation in advance as the restaurant is very busy. Our highlight was the giant schnitzel with fries and salad. Our friends' dishes (baked potato and Jägerschnitzel) also looked very good.

Just arrived to Munich and wanted to try some local food. Look at the review and decide to go here. Food was excellent, the service very attentive although it was very full at late lunch time. We really enjoyed. We had the Vegan curry sausage that was very good and the turkey steak with 2 glass of great local beer. High recommend

Great meat and vegetarian/vegan options. Portions are huge!! Could easily share food without ordering two entrees. Food was good but my vegetarian option was very dry and needed a sauce like ketchup. I am always grateful for a vegetarian option so it is a must try and was yummy! Wait staff was excellent. Would recommend getting a reservation as we did so you can get a table. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

We waited 45 minutes and got nothing but drinks and all the tables around us that came after us had already gotten their food. After the 45 minute wait we asked and then they told us that our order would only be activated then. Shortly afterwards we got our salad and had to wait another 10 minutes for it to arrive. But as compensation we got a round of drinks on the house. But the food was very good.

Overrated or it used to be better. I would NOT say the portion is huge... been here many times and not coming again after I was forced to tip the waiter (he included the tip in the amount I'm supposed to pay without even asking)

I understand that it is difficult to get in, everything is reserved, so at first the waitress said that there would be no seats, but we waited, seeing that two tables were free, we approached again and asked if they would accept us and the waitress was happy that we could sit down😊 The service is excellent, fast, the food is amazing, as we expected😍 The pork schnitzel does not fit on the biggest plate, they serve potato and delicious vegetable salad with the schnitzels, thank you! Really disappointing. This used to be a very cozy and casual student bar. Now the guests are being transported through here in piecemeal and are literally processed. Anyone who reserves a table has two hours to eat. These stressful feeding intervals are called “slots” quite nicely. It's uncomfortable. If you ask why it has to be that way, you'll be shouted at. There is no nice pub garden either, instead there is an ugly plexiglass greenhouse in front of the restaurant, which heats up accordingly in the summer. The food? Well, the schnitzels used to be legendary, and now they're just big and ok. The bottom line is that the whole menu is nothing special: you can get the same food everywhere in the surrounding taverns in Maxvorstadt. And there you can take your time to chew, enjoy and chat in peace - without the next “slot” on your neck. It's always a shame when people do gastronomy who have no feel for it... and are only looking for maximum profit.

The food is INCREDIBLE, the portions are huge (do share) and in general we liked it a lot. The only issue was that the waiter was a bit rude but we didn’t mind that much.

Incredible quality-price. The dishes are abundant. With three of us we had more than four people eating, as usually happens in German restaurants. We ordered the schnitzel, the sausages and the typical pasta. Everything delicious.

We were 3 people around 5 p.m. and it was difficult to get a place, but we managed. We ate the menu of the day, tagliatelle with meat and roast in chanterelle sauce with salad. Food very good. Maybe the weakest was the cooked meat from the daily menu, but it was also good. Very nice service. We didn't wait long for the food. The place boasts the largest and tastiest schnitzel. I've seen this dish at other places and it's actually huge. People ate it with gusto, so it must be good. Our food portions were also very large. We didn't manage to eat, but we easily received takeaway packages and took them with us. I highly recommend the place. It's worth it and the prices are moderate.

The portions here are huge and can easily be split into 2 meals. We tried both the pork and turkey schnitzel, with the pork being much larger. The breading was slightly different on each, and although both were good, I preferred the taste of the pork schnitzel over the turkey.

The schnitzel is very delicious and filling; there’s no need for any other dish. The salad that comes with the schnitzel is also fantastic. However, not accepting our reservation was a bit disappointing. Despite waiting, we couldn’t get a table. We went the next day with a reservation. I recommend being a bit more considerate in this regard. But the food is great.

We were here for dinner with 7 girls. Reservations are definitely a must! Everyone was totally happy with the food, everything was really very good! Would come back at any time!

Cool schnitzel restaurant in Munich, not directly in the city but that's exactly what makes it special in my opinion. Fair price and delicious food. Mega schnitzel salad and fries are perfect.

For dinner we ordered the recommended schnitzel (Vienna style) with fries, fried potatoes, sweet potato fries and salad. Of the side dishes, we were most impressed by the fried potatoes and the colorful salad, whereas the sweet potato fries were not that tasty. But we particularly liked the schnitzel, which tasted incredibly good with the cranberries. However, we found the size of the schnitzel quite surprising, as in our opinion it was two schnitzels in size. Despite the good food, the restaurant was too crowded and therefore very noisy. The waiting times were also longer than expected. For the reasons explained, I give Steinheil 16 four out of five stars.

The size of the schnitzel is huge compared to the price. If you look at Seojin, you will see that the meat is a bit dry, but it was still okay because it was large compared to the price. I had the same salad, but the turkey with the salad was delicious. I recommend it!!

The portions are very generous and the price is average. The Spätzle is very nice. It's located close to the universities. It has a small terrace and the staff is okey. At the evenings it's recommended to book a table in advance. For lunch it's less crowded.

Been coming for probably 15 years now. Before attending Oktoberfest in September we will fill up with a pork schnitzel and chips and then attend the festival and it will last us the whole day and night. Whenever I fly to Munich I stop here. My wife and I found this place around 15 years ago when we lived in Innsbruck. We were lucky to need to fly to Munich airport this year and literally the first things we did after our 23hr flight from Australia was pass through immigration control, go to our hire car company, drive to STEINHEIL 16. Such a local and international establishment. Pork schnitzels for the win.

I had the schnitzel. It was so big that it overflowed the plate, but it wasn't greasy at all, and the fries on the side were very tasty. If you don't finish all the food and have any leftovers, you can take them home with you, so it's safe even for women.

Often referred to as a student bar. Yes, it tends to be a younger audience, but the demands are higher. What we experienced: reasonably priced food and drinks. The Viennese style schnitzel (made from pork) costs less than 20 EUR. In return you get a very large and good schnitzel. As a side dish, either fries or fried potatoes (be sure to have them) and a salad. But the last one is a bit sad, you can leave that out. The schnitzel was nice and flat, but slightly over-seasoned - still very tasty. The service staff are very nice and quick. Nice shop.

While researching how to eat Viennese schnitzel, we went to the place without making a reservation, impressed by its high scores. Since we didn't have a reservation, we waited for a while and then they said we could stay for a maximum of 1.5 hours. Initially the service was slow and the table size was quite small for 3 people. After ordering, all the negativities went away and we loved the schnitzel. The portions are quite large and filling, and the salad and potatoes were delicious.
