My Schnitzel in München

By far the biggest schnitzel I have ever eaten. The price-to-price ratio is wonderful, although the store is often very full. If you are more than 2 people, you should make a reservation during peak times

I put 2 stars because we booked a table on Sunday at 15:00 to eat for 2 people and there was 1 and only waiter who did not have time to serve. We waited 15 minutes for him to bring a catalog and 40 minutes for him to take an order. We left without eating.

Cool atmosphere. Very nice service. The steak was very well prepared. I highly recommend this place. You can eat well, drink good Bavarian beer and have a nice time. During the May weekend, it was one of the few places available. 5/5

Great bar that serves tasty and huge schnitzel. Definitely recommended. Reservation does help a lot. Otherwise, finding a table may be challenging. The staff is super friendly and accomodating.

Nonchalant staff (at least he who served our table) and very large portions that were not informed by the waiter when ordering. Slow with menus and orders and forgot things that were ordered. Have eaten better wienerschnitzel in Sweden...

With a request for new staff. At 11 p.m. on Friday, despite supposed opening hours, none of the Gen Z employees even glance at you. Even the greeting is ignored by the staff. After 20 minutes of waiting, we left the restaurant in disbelief and disbelief.

I like going to Steinheil, of course because of the (usually) wonderful, large and delicious schnitzels. Unfortunately, “sometimes” it’s not that tasty and disappointing. 🙁 You then sit in front of an ordinary schnitzel that is also chewy and is a maximum of 2/3 of the “normal” Steinheil size. It would be nice if the quality could continue in the future, but don't give up and come back. 🙏 The staff is ALWAYS excellent! (this was about the classic Steinheil pork schnitzel)

Excellent experience, although if you are on the terrace it is extremely cold, I recommend going inside and making a reservation because when we went it was already full at 7:00 p.m.

Nice pub, fast and welcoming service. I recommend booking. Four of us ordered two currywurstels with fries, a chicken cutlet with fries and a meat and spinach flan, served with a mushroom cream and potato gnocchi. All satisfactory, generous portions. The only flaw was the cooking of the cutlet, it was burnt on the sides and the breading came off very easily. The average number of dishes is around 15/20 euros, one is plenty enough to feed you. With a water, a medium beer and a small beer we spent around 84.

The portion is large and cheap. The fried pork chop is just right for two people. It also comes with salad.

The fried pork chop is okay. I see it is available on almost every table. It should be the dish in the photo. The beef stew tastes just fine. I don’t really like the texture of the pasta that comes with it. It looks like scrambled eggs, but it does taste like flour🤣🤣

Abundant portions but made not at all artisanal, everything is pre-made and you can see that they use frozen for Milanese and potatoes, A lot of dirt on the floor, food remains, papers, in the bathroom also discarded papers. It's a shame you can't give a 6-star rating. The restaurant is unbeatably good. The service was impeccable and the staff were competent and courteous. We were given a table, without reservation, saying we had an hour. We then waited between 30-45min for two schnitzels. Food was good but not worth such a long wait with no apollogies or updates on how long it will take. Salad came first but, apart from ketchup and mayo, there was no complementary oil, vinegar, salt, pepper or other condiments one could use for their bland salad which i tasted from once and it was enough. My partner asked for a lemonade and they brought her a sprite, they could have just said they don't provide that instead of taking payment for something she didn't want. We asked for complementary water but apparently they don't do that so we ended up paying for a whole bottle which we didn't drink much from. Servers were busy, since there were many people, but i didn't feel they were very friendly. Some of them were totally avoiding eye contact so i had to get up and hoist if i wanted something, and others were in such a hurry they didn't answer other customers. I do not recommend this place if you want to enjoy a quick dinner with great service.

The Wirtshaus is well know for it amazing schnitzel and nice atmosphere. Yes the Schnitzel is good but not the best one I had during my stay in Munich. Price is really good, the staff young and very friendly. Highly apprichiated: although the place was packed with people, also later in the evening, they did not rush us out after we finished our dinner. So overall we had a nice relaxed evening.

Schnitzel was very dry and panada didn't stick, which was a shame. Potato salad delicious. My companion's cheese spaetzle was good but very fattening. Never leave with a little hunger. Portions are huge. Small restaurant in a good location with outside seating.

Many thanks to the friendly team, the modern, cozy atmosphere, and the friendly service. Of course, I'd also like to highlight the delicious Wiener Schnitzel (nice and thin, crispy breading, crispy fries, and a crisp salad) and the grilled turkey steak (nice and thin, smooth quark with a baked potato, perfectly cooked fresh pan-fried vegetables, and a crisp salad). Amazing food for a great price. The staff were very friendly. We were seated right away. The schnitzel portion is big, and the potatoes are top-notch. They have vegan and puten options as well. Would definitely recommend this great place to hang out with family or friends.

We arrived without a reservation at a busy Saturday afternoon, but after a few minutes of waiting, a kind gentleman found us a table for two. We got their specials, schnitzel and curry wurst, and both were pretty tasty! Portions were more than satisfying, so you won’t leave hungry!

Food was very enjoyable, service felt a tad cold and no music at lunch service. I think possibly this is more geared towards the evening crowd but I can only rate based on my experience.

The best schnitzel in Munich is here, although the staff is a little abrupt when they tell you to wait for a table, when they serve you they do it well, however it is worth the wait, it is a soft and rich schnitzel, with an amazing buttery flavor, and I recommend that you order it with "Fried potatoes or Frieterten Kartoffelen" it is the best accompaniment, I would really like to congratulate the kitchen staff, thanks to you I am not saying that German food is bad. A great recommendation, but if you are close to the Pinakotheken, it will take about 15 minutes on foot. Simply impressive!

There seemed to be a lot more locals than tourists. I ordered schnitzel, goulash, and beer. Each salad was brought to me with a beer first, then a dish was served. It takes a while to fry and cook, but it's freshly fried and delicious, and the male and female staff were really friendly and nice.

This places amazes me with its price-performance ratio every single time. Their soy schnitzel is one of the best in the city, and the portions are huge (which I love). I love that you get a nice bowl of salad, a whole portion of potatoes, and 2 full pieces of schnitzel at 16,90. Can only recommend it to all schnitzel lovers. ❤️

We had a lovely evening in the restaurant and the food was really good. The schnitzels are very large and really fill you up, the fried potatoes as a side dish are highly recommended. Unfortunately the service was very poor. After we placed our drink order at the beginning, we weren't asked if we wanted something more until we left. Even the completely overcrowded table with three schnitzels and side dishes didn't really interest the waiter, so we had to hold the salad in our hands while we ate.

Small restaurant with schnitzels worth mentioning. These are very large and pounded nice and thin. I've been there twice now with a long time between each other. However, what I noticed negatively about the schnitzels both times: I have the feeling that they are too big for the pan or that not enough fat is used or that the cook can't quite keep up. In any case, there are a few parts of each schnitzel that are not fried so crispy but rather "doughy". It's a shame otherwise it would be one of the best schnitzel restaurants I know and there are a few. But since it has now happened twice out of two visits, it is probably the case more often. Add 30 seconds per schnitzel and it would be perfect. Still recommended and definitely better than burned. 4/5 stars and third test will follow.

Mahh man they have the snithzel the size of a big baloon. You can get a good vienna snitzel with potatos and salad for a really good price. Split the food or if you want they give you the option to take away the leftovers. 👌 Tasty and the service is great. Good music, nice atmosphere.

Massive portion for 1. Recommend ordering one if you cannot eat it all. Comes with Salad too but didn’t manage to eat it. I got the pork schnitzel with potato fries for 17.90 euro.

Extremely delicious food and great service. We had three dishes: Wiener Schnitzel (huge), Käsespätzle (absolute soul food with lots of cheese) and Chili con Carne (great spiciness, super fresh) - all tasted excellent. Very nice and friendly service who enjoy their work - always smiling, friendly and accommodating. If we lived in Munich, this would be our local pub.

It's a small and delicious place, we ate schnitzel and beer, it was extremely nice. It is recommended that you go by Rez. Since it is close to Munich Technical University, it is a student-dominated area. You can visit the campus area and eat there.

Among the restaurants I've been to recently, this is the only one I've given five stars to, based on my criteria. The place is quite small, with limited seating, but once the food arrives, that doesn't really matter. There's also an art exhibit on the walls featuring the artist of the month. There can be a slight delay in service due to the crowds. My food recommendations are the turkey schnitzel and the spätzle. For those planning to visit, I have two pieces of advice: Make a reservation and go very hungry. "Go hungry" was actually a suggestion from a previous reviewer, but I'm upgrading it to "go very hungry." The prices weren't significantly different from other restaurants I've tried in this city.

Had dinner in this typical Munich restaurant not on a public holiday, very crowded (we had booked at 9pm). great difficulty in choosing from the menu not knowing the dishes on offer, when in doubt I took the breaded turkey steak which is offered in 3 sizes, size no. 2 was already huge! Side dish potatoes and first a salad. I have to say everything is good. Correct quality-price ratio

Steinheil 16 is a very good place to eat. The schnitzels are huge and my companion enjoyed them too. I had the salad with goat cheese and it was more than enough. The prices are also very pleasant for Munich. The service is very attentive and friendly. You can really enjoy coming back here again and again.

Very full place, not large and very noisy. It can happen that you share a table with others and all in all it was a good experience. We ordered the famous schnitzel with potatoes and beer. All very good.

Totally delicious food - very large portions. Price-performance perfect. However, it doesn't get the full 5 stars because it is unfortunately very loud and super cramped. The argument between 2 employees at the front door was unpleasant for us.

Very pleasant restaurant near the TUM. The portions are generous and the value for money is excellent. Of course, the most important thing is that the food tastes good – and it definitely does. The only thing that could be criticized about the restaurant is the rather cramped atmosphere. It happened more often that someone had to walk past my seat and brushed against my jacket. However, maybe I just had an inconvenient seat. All in all, a great experience and I would love to come back!
