Extremely delicious food and great service. We had three dishes: Wiener Schnitzel (huge), Käsespätzle (absolute soul food with lots of cheese) and Chili con Carne (great spiciness, super fresh) - all tasted excellent. Very nice and friendly service who enjoy their work - always smiling, friendly and accommodating. If we lived in Munich, this would be our local pub.

It's a small and delicious place, we ate schnitzel and beer, it was extremely nice. It is recommended that you go by Rez. Since it is close to Munich Technical University, it is a student-dominated area. You can visit the campus area and eat there.

I've loved this place since I was a student - and that was quite a while ago now - but it's still as MEGA as ever 👍

Place is nice, food is fresh and tasty however stuff shocked with there unprofessional approach on there own mistakes! They mistakenly got us wrong beers on order on our polite request to make it right we got it! “ you have to learn how to order! “ incredible! All please learn how to order before you visit that place! Especially when you did nothing wrong!

Among the restaurants I've been to recently, this is the only one I've given five stars to, based on my criteria. The place is quite small, with limited seating, but once the food arrives, that doesn't really matter. There's also an art exhibit on the walls featuring the artist of the month. There can be a slight delay in service due to the crowds. My food recommendations are the turkey schnitzel and the spätzle. For those planning to visit, I have two pieces of advice: Make a reservation and go very hungry. "Go hungry" was actually a suggestion from a previous reviewer, but I'm upgrading it to "go very hungry." The prices weren't significantly different from other restaurants I've tried in this city.

A reasonable restaurant price level for copious and quality dishes, plus the service was pleasant and efficient. The lemonade was really good too! An ideal evening restaurant with a great atmosphere! I highly recommend!

Very full place, not large and very noisy. It can happen that you share a table with others and all in all it was a good experience. We ordered the famous schnitzel with potatoes and beer. All very good.

Had dinner in this typical Munich restaurant not on a public holiday, very crowded (we had booked at 9pm). great difficulty in choosing from the menu not knowing the dishes on offer, when in doubt I took the breaded turkey steak which is offered in 3 sizes, size no. 2 was already huge! Side dish potatoes and first a salad. I have to say everything is good. Correct quality-price ratio

Steinheil 16 is a very good place to eat. The schnitzels are huge and my companion enjoyed them too. I had the salad with goat cheese and it was more than enough. The prices are also very pleasant for Munich. The service is very attentive and friendly. You can really enjoy coming back here again and again.

Totally delicious food - very large portions. Price-performance perfect. However, it doesn't get the full 5 stars because it is unfortunately very loud and super cramped. The argument between 2 employees at the front door was unpleasant for us.

Very pleasant restaurant near the TUM. The portions are generous and the value for money is excellent. Of course, the most important thing is that the food tastes good – and it definitely does. The only thing that could be criticized about the restaurant is the rather cramped atmosphere. It happened more often that someone had to walk past my seat and brushed against my jacket. However, maybe I just had an inconvenient seat. All in all, a great experience and I would love to come back!

Mega delicious schnitzel, highly recommended!

Trying German food for the 2nd time and I am so happy to try authentically here in Munich! The food is made fresh and absolutely delicious. The portions are very large and filling. I believe my pork schnitzel (larger than both my hands) is enough to feed 2 adults and a kid. It came with sliced baked potatoes and a salad which helped cut the oil from the meat. I was very happy with the service and the design of the restaurant. Dim lighting and plenty of seating. Our server spoke English so it was nice since our group is North American and 1 from London. I would definitely come back here again with friend and family and highly recommend this restaurant for locals and visitors looking to try German food.

Our visit to Steinheil 16 was mixed. Although we had reserved, we were seated at a rather uncomfortable table - with a rather unpleasant and direct view of the kitchen, even though other tables for two were free. We couldn't sit directly across from each other. At the beginning there was a kitchen employee sitting at the end of our table who didn't seem very motivated. Later, three more guests were seated at our table, which resulted in my husband having to stand up several times during the meal so they could be seated. That was very disturbing and significantly spoiled the atmosphere. The nice service should be highlighted positively: the employees were friendly and the food came quickly. Nevertheless, the process had more of a mass processing character. Unfortunately, the generous portions and the solid quality of the food cannot fully compensate for this. Steinheil 16 may be suitable for a quick, down-to-earth visit, but we wouldn't recommend it for a relaxed restaurant evening.

One of the best schnitzels in Munich. It is a shop that mainly locals come to. Not at all touristy. One should definitely visit this particular shop. It would be good to make a reservation.

5 out of 5. The best German cuisine I've ever tasted. The spirit of a pub, combined with the service of a good restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. I made another reservation as soon as a paid my bill to make sure that I will visit it again.

Great little neighborhood restaurant. While the ambiance isn’t the most traditional, the food definitely is. The XL sized veal schnitzel is the obvious choice, especially if you worked an appetite.

First of all, I was very surprised about the place. Although it is in a not very busy place in a side street, it is very successful and the portions are very satisfying and it costs around 20 euros per person. A must try, reservation is a must.

This was my first schnitzel in Munich and all of Germany as well. I really did enjoy the schnitzel. The ambiance was very nice as well as the food had very big portions. It was a pre-pricey to me, but same time. I think it was well worth it. we also had really good beer too, and I would recommend it again and next time I come here, I will definitely be trying to suit again.

Reservations are required, otherwise you may have to sit outside in cold weather. Schnitzel was nice but the portion was too big for one person. If you are not very hungry, you can share it with two people.

I go to Steinheil 16 often and I like it a lot. Like a Schnitzel with potatoes that is very delicious. The portion is large and I am very full. The service is very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is friendly. The prices are very good for the large portions. I really like the place and I recommend it to everyone who is in Munich.

It's been 8 years since I've been back to Munich since my Erasmus. The place has become a little sophisticated, but the schnitzel is still just as good, big and well priced. A pleasure to have remembered old moments with friends and visitors. For me the best schnitzel in the city!

The snitzel is highly recommended (very juicy and large), and comes with salad and chips. We ate somewhat cramped since the place is not spacious and was full. As for the service, correct. It is not in the center but you can walk back perfectly and you end up arriving at the Odeon Platz.

We were there today for my birthday. The food is really recommended! Delicious! We all ate the schnitzel with fries and loved it. The friendliness and competence of the employees should also be emphasized. The nice gentleman who served us today was really great! We would be happy to come back and recommend it to everyone.

I stopped by Steinheil 16 for lunch and the schnitzel was massive–plate overflowing massive! It had this perfectly crisp coating and buttery flavor that didn't overpower the tender pork. I also loved the cozy wooden interior, it made me feel riught at home.

We come here often and it's always good. However, without a reservation you have bad cards during normal meal times. The schnitzel is large and tastes good.

We had an early dinner with a great schnitzel, fries and side salad. The portion was large, so it's best to be hungry. The Augustiner Hell had it the perfect temperature, glass fogged up and beautifully marbled foam after drinking. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, there are only a few such cozy restaurants left in Munich. We'd love to come back!

Lovely and welcoming. Staff very helpful and polite. Had the largest Schnitzel I've ever seen, sliced potato too. Meat was so tender, and potatoes lovely and crisp. Would recommend even if just to witness the size of the portions!

Mahh man they have the snithzel the size of a big baloon. You can get a good vienna snitzel with potatos and salad for a really good price. Split the food or if xoz want they give you the option to take away the leftovers. Tasty and the service is great. Good music, nice atmosphere.

There will be three of us there! I had goulash and it was great. The other food was also good. The only thing was the timing, all the food came separately and by the time the third one came, the first meal was already cold 🤪 But the young man in service picked us up really well! That's why it didn't hurt anything at all! We'll be back 👍🏿

Small but nice and the only criticism you could make is that the tables are too small for the schnitzel portions if several people order one.

That was a great evening. We were 5 hungry and thirsty men on a company outing. It was right to reserve in advance. Everyone had ordered a different dish, and all the dishes came quickly and at the same time. Class! Everyone was happy and no one had anything to complain about.

Make a reservation! The place is small and very busy (this makes it a bit noisy, with conversations). The food is very good! Worth the experience!

Very cute place, had our lunch there, it was absolutely delicious and the price was right too. The service was excellent, with very friendly staff.

I was having difficulty making reservations (my phone was the issue). So, I went directly to the restaurant and within an hour KYRA was able to fit me in; even though they were completely full for the day with reservations. KYRA was a super awesome host and she went out of her way to take care of me as a tourist from Canada. She was super helpful in getting me settled and ended up giving me an awesome table. As I knew exactly what I wanted to order the process was quick and easy as they both spoke English (KYRA/CHRISTIAN) as my German is a bit rough around the edges. The beer was served quickly and was very cold as well as the glass; which I like very much. The food came out shortly thereafter and was piping hot and delicious. I super highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone that visits Munich. This is probably one of the best restaurants in the city..... I hope they will expand the restaurant or open another location. Thankyou to both KYRA & CHRISTIAN & THE OWNERS..... Well Done.....

Can't confirm the good reviews. Schnitzel didn't taste good, I don't want to write anything about the non-existent service. I am also very sure that the schnitzel is not prepared in a pan with clarified butter...! Unfortunately for me it was a failure...

Very finely fried fries. What I didn't like: Our table was sticky. The menus too. On the one hand the fries were very tasty but on the other hand they were very salty as I was always thirsty afterwards. Price is cheap for the huge portion.

Portions and pricing were good. The waiters were helpful and attentive enough. The pork schnitzel I ordered was very oily and tasted bad. I never imagined that I would feel the smell of burnt oil so much that I had to leave half of it on the plate.

A bit crowded (but with their quality it’s inevitable), the staff is super nice and helpful, and the food… DELICIOUS, and the portions are super large (two people could leave this restaurant well fed by sharing one schnitzel)!
