Gasthaus Alt-Koserow in Koserow

We ate there two days ago. It was delicious, the staff were very friendly, even with small children, and it was pleasantly quiet.

The website and reality are far apart. Only open for three hours a day during peak season (according to the notice board, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.). According to the website, it's open until 8:30 p.m.! According to the website, it's closed Thursdays and Saturdays. According to the notice board, it's only closed on Saturdays. If you go by on Monday, August 25, 2025 (7:58 p.m.), the restaurant will already be closed. I think they're slowly sawing off the branch they're sitting on. By the way: This restaurant was great in the 80s and 90s. Back here in Koserow for the first time in many years - I'm disappointed.

After a while, we were assigned a table. Drinks were served, and our food was ordered. After an hour of patient waiting, the waitress came to the table and asked if we'd like to order food, as it was almost closing time. Her colleague had lost the order slip, and by the way, our ordered dishes were now sold out. We declined "thankfully." We were then asked to pay for the one drink, without even an apology! Never again!

My wife had the breaded cauliflower with croquettes, and I had the schnitzel with leccho. The food wasn't particularly good, but not bad either. It was enough to fill us up, but the value for money wasn't right for us. The restaurant was clean, but had the charm of a corner pub from the 1980s.

We stumbled across the restaurant spontaneously and decided to stop in. We received a very friendly welcome and didn't have to wait long for the menu. The selection was plentiful and appealing. After ordering, we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for our drinks. The food also arrived within a reasonable time. The portions were good, plentiful, and very tasty. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Although the ambiance was a bit dated, the food tasted good. Sure, a lot of it was deep-fried, but the clarified butter was fresh, which is a plus. There was no old, greasy taste. Additionally, everything we ordered was truly homemade (obviously, croquettes on the outside and the occasional salad). Service was friendly, but with a slight language barrier. The prices were fair for a tourist area. Also manageable with children (there are coloring books, etc.)

Yes, I definitely recommend this restaurant. We had dinner on July 18, 2025, and the wait staff greeted us very warmly. Our order was taken very quickly, and the drinks and then our food arrived within a few minutes. The plates were beautifully presented, and the food tasted wonderful. It was a truly fortunate coincidence that, after an exhausting and fruitless search for a restaurant on Whitsun Sunday, we stumbled upon this gem. Unassuming from the outside, not much going on inside... but the food 🥰 Very lovingly prepared, even the side dishes – the fish and pork schnitzel were truly a feast for the palate! The service was also very friendly :) The place is also child-friendly. Overall, we felt very comfortable with everything! The icing on the cake were the "lobster-shaped" salt and pepper shakers 🦞

The waitress, a woman, was very annoyed after we informed her that the chanterelles on our food were frozen. She ignored us and was in a correspondingly bad mood. After we asked for the bill, she made us wait a quarter of an hour and didn't come back to collect our money, so we had to go to her to get our money. That wasn't a nice gesture.

This evening we had dinner in the Alt-Koserow restaurant. You immediately feel at home in the rustic ambience. The food was very tasty. The employees there were all very friendly and accommodating. Our dog was also very welcome. We'd love to come back.

Well, I stopped in for dinner around 7.30 p.m. and the waitress had to ask the kitchen if they wanted to cook anything else 🤷‍♂️ even though it only opened at 5 p.m. and the opening hours only last until 9 p.m. The quality of the food was okay, but definitely nothing special. The schnitzel was good, as was the letcho, but the fried potatoes were definitely a miss for the pan! I'll be honest, there's no reason for me to come back again.

The food was ok. The portion was a bit small, but that's very subjective. People are friendly. You can definitely try it. The big drawback, however, is the lack of the option to pay by card!! That would actually be a reason to choose a different restaurant on your next vacation.

We were lucky to get a place. Due to a waitress's language barrier, other guests were always turned away with a shake of their head, despite there being free seats. The food was good, but quite expensive for the quantity.

For these prices I would have expected a little more. Very little side dish. Good average taste.

Unfortunately, like a review from a month ago, we had to wait 45 minutes for drinks and another 40 minutes for food. I understand the lack of staff and that you have to get your money's worth, but you have to make compromises somewhere. If you know you can't manage the staff, then I only take on a limited number of people. Food was still delicious. We have been coming here regularly for 10 years and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately not anymore after today, what a shame.

Small restaurant with good food, unfortunately we felt the price-performance ratio was overpriced because our schnitzel with peas was simply too small for 18.90 euros. Spaghetti with tomatoes? Our grandson didn't like the sauce. Service was very friendly.

Full points to be awarded. We ate here 3 times this week with 3 people and a dog. We made reservations in advance. Service, food: we were completely thrilled and satisfied. We were a bit disappointed with our regular restaurant this year (change of ownership).

So today I made a second attempt to go to this restaurant... but it will probably have been the last. A year ago I only got something to drink at 7 p.m. because the kitchen was already closed. When I came in today, the lady behind the counter disappeared without asking or saying anything to me... I waited for a while (as ordered and not picked up) and then left. It doesn't work at all... I ate and served super tasty and nice food somewhere else. When I walked past around 8 p.m., the restaurant was already closed... I have no idea. Although it's up until 9 p.m. and it's also on the internet.

This year for the 3rd time here, very friendly service and delicious food (fish three times). Strongly recommended!

Absolutely not recommended! Waited 45 minutes for drinks. Eating took another 40 minutes longer. The dishes are a mix of frozen and canned. The fried potatoes were Brandenburg style and the potato wedges were partly raw. That is not possible! At the end of the day, an experience richer...

Cash only, does not accept cards. We had a wonderful dinner for a reasonable cost. The staff were very friendly (even when I had to run to my hotel & grab more money because they didn’t accept credit cards). The restaurant decor was like eating in my grandmother’s house.

Absolut empfehlenswert, bin eigentlich nur aus Zufall drauf gestoßen und war total überrascht. Es dauert zwar etwas bis das Essen kommt, aber es lohnt sich definitiv. Hier würde man am liebsten jeden Tag Essen gehen.

Durch Zufall entdeckt, sind wir sehr positiv überrascht. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, Gastraum gemütlich eingerichtet und mit Vintage-Elementen ausgestattet, ohne kitschig zu wirken, Das Essen ist mit Liebe angerichtet, schmeckt sehr gut und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Das Restaurant können wir nur empfehlen. Weiterhin viel Erfolg!

Preis Leistung in Ordnung. Wartezeit aufs Essen war völlig in Ordnung. Nur Barzahlung, darauf wird lediglich mit einem kleinen Schriftzug an der einer der zwei Türen hingewiesen, wenn man draußen sitzt, sieht man ihn nicht.

Essen sah sehr lecker aus. Leider wird man als neuer Kunde um 19:55 schon abgewiesen und nach Hause geschickt - sehr schade.
