Quite nice. However, the price/performance ratio is not right. The dishes weren't a culinary revelation either. Expect to pay €70 - €100 per person.

A restaurant with potential but a major lack of hospitality The restaurant has received a lot of praise in the area. The cuisine is truly outstanding and offers an impressive range of dishes of excellent quality. Unfortunately, my positive experience with increased visits was greatly marred by the unfriendly and arrogant nature of the service staff and the owners. Instead of taking care of the guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere, there is always an unpleasant atmosphere. It almost seems as if the staff are more concerned with themselves than with the guests. The combination of excellent food and such rude service is truly unfortunate. I would have liked the staff to complement the quality of the food with an equally positive attitude towards customer service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend visiting this restaurant. There are many other places where you can enjoy both delicious food and friendly hospitality.

I celebrated my birthday twice in this restaurant 😍It was wonderful, they will meet you speaking Italian. They are very cozy and delicious, the prices are a little above average, I recommend this restaurant if you want to try something new. The only thing is that I would not come back a third time, as I always like to taste something new, and the menu for me it was difficult to find something interesting for myself, from what I had already tasted🥲But despite this, I definitely advise you to visit this restaurant, you will not regret it!)

We had a really great meal outside under the shady olive trees. The waiters exude a very friendly Italian vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice location and cozy atmosphere. Some of the waitresses didn't speak German and therefore didn't know what we wanted to order. The drinks menu was missing from the menu and it was only after repeated requests and surprise on my part that the missing page was added. The starter came relatively quickly and from then on we were kept waiting. Used dishes were not cleared away. We then waited more than 45 minutes for the main course after the starter and it was only brought to us after we asked again. Our visit was very sobering...

Recommended because the "passion for cooking" is convincing & the service team does an excellent job & the boss lives hospitality & the sheltered outdoor and dignified indoor areas are attractive! So, even a long journey is worth it for everyone who knows high prices ;)

Four of us ate here yesterday and it was simply indescribable! The owner, as well as the daughter and son-in-law, are incredibly warm people. We received such a warm welcome and service, that was half the battle! When it comes to food, I don't even know where to start!! You can taste the love for food in every bite! It was an experience that cannot be described in words, you just have to experience it for yourself! Incredibly great food, very friendly owner and staff and the atmosphere was just WOW. We felt like we were in Italy! New favorite Italian, we are already looking forward to our next visit!! A clear 10/10!!

A culinary journey through Italy... I ate there for the first time with my mother and stepfather. What can I say, the food was an absolute dream. We ordered a selection of appetizers, and one was better than the other, my absolute favorite was the tuna tartare with avocado, I've never eaten anything so delicious, it was just perfectly seasoned, I can't describe how delicious it was , I definitely have to try this!!!.... 100 out of 10 points. All three of us ate pasta and they were absolutely perfect in their own way. The pasta was PERFECTLY aldente, perfectly seasoned and the combinations of acidity, sweetness and herbs was incredible, the pasta with calamari was to die for. I could have eaten 10 plates. And the tiramisu was also super tasty, the mascarpone was not heavy at all and again perfectly seasoned. If you like wine, you've come to the right place here, we tried 5 different wines, out of an unbelievable 700 or more wines and everything was to our liking. The only thing I didn't think was great was the service. Yes it was full, but you often had to ask 2-3 times to get tickets or wine or something else, which was a shame but nonetheless everyone was very nice! I can only recommend Gallo Nero. If you want an insight into VERY GOOD Italian cuisine, this is definitely the right place for you Despite the service, I give it 5 out of 5 stars 🌟 I will definitely come back for special occasions

Service not professional... Price performance doesn't fit at all... The food was tasty, but not exceptional and simply too expensive

I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. The waitress made us feel like we weren't typical guests (rich Winterhuders). In my opinion, other guests were given preferential treatment because we had to wait a long time for the menu, the wine list and the wine, even though others came in after us and already had the starters. I might be able to “understand” it if we barely ordered anything. But this wasn't the case: we had a bottle of wine, several starters, main course and dessert. I was really very shocked that you would be treated like this in an overpriced restaurant where the food is mediocre. When I asked what kind of pesto was included, I was just looked at stupidly and the waitress said: yes, pesto (as if I were too stupid to know what pesto was). From the restaurant's responses to the bad reviews, you could have guessed that the service was a complete disaster... I look forward to your reply.

There is smoking outside. The ambience is very nice, the wine in particular creates a good aesthetic. It took the waitress a long time to come to us. The starter took a very long time, the bruschetta cost €12 and was just bread with ONLY tomatoes. The waitress gave us a greeting from the kitchen. (€3.50 PER PERSON) The pasta was mediocre, the pesto wasn't good, everything was too expensive.

Undoubtedly delicious food, even if I don't mean bolognese/minced meat by ragout. The service was rather inattentive and came too rarely. We had ordered a different wine, but the one that was brought was delicious. I also find it stupid when I'm still eating the starter and then the main course is served. Ambiance was nice.

Even though the dishes are relatively small and expensive, they are still very tasty! It's also really nice to sit in the Gallo Nero. The only thing that is a shame is that the service for everything took a very long time. Of course, this could be due to the abundance of the restaurant, but in my opinion it should be manageable given the long experience of a restaurant.

Best Italian in Winterhude. Despite no reservations and with a stroller, we received a very friendly welcome and a table was set up for us within minutes. The staff is very attentive and loving, the food is great and you can relax comfortably on the terrace.

Unfortunately expectations were not met. The food was tasty/good. The service and pricing policy, on the other hand, are not. 10 euros were charged per bottle of water, the bread and olive oil that were on the table without being asked were charged, apparently the "greetings from the kitchen" are also charged, the truffle pasta for 32.50 was very small and a 0.3 beer was with 5.30 euros at the pain threshold. On the bill, 2 bottles of water were overcharged (i.e. 20 euros) and 2 wrong dishes were brought. Both of those were corrected, but still a lot of confusion. In other words, the food was on the table and then taken away again and kept warm. Not ideal for truffle pasta because it slowly melts together. Somewhere else you would have at least gotten a shot on the house, but not here. There were also no windows that could be opened on a muggy summer evening.

No recommendation - food delicious, boss/service very bad We have been to Gallo Nero several times and have always been impressed by both the ambience and the food. Hence our renewed visit a few days ago. However, we are very disappointed with our last visit and will not be visiting there again in the future. We had reserved the table, but when we arrived we were told that it was still being prepared. I wonder how long it can take when you know that the guests have reserved at a certain time - actually this should be done beforehand. What bothered us more than this fact, however, was the tone that we were treated to - not only were we rudely escorted to the table after more than 20 minutes and repeated questions, we were also asked to please wait outside (it was raining !). Neither an apology nor anything similar came from the boss or the waitress - I know Italian hospitality differently. When we were seated, we told the boss that it wasn't actually very friendly to keep someone waiting so long, to which we were told, "You can go somewhere else, we're not a bank where you have to keep appointments" - why do you reserve then a table? The bigger problem, however, was the position of the table. In the middle of the passage, chairs were wobbly and there was no chance for the wait staff to get past without bumping into one of us. Very uncomfortable! And now the highlight and a very disrespectful behavior, especially as a boss and restaurateur: we were given the menu and ordered a bottle of water. When the waiter wanted to pour, the boss stopped him. According to the motto “not them at first”. Impudence! We got up and left the shop - here again it was misconduct on the part of the boss - grabbing a person's upper arm very tightly who actually just wanted to explain the situation and then directing them away from the restaurant by pointing at the door is absolute inappropriate and should be avoided, especially in this form of gastronomy. I really think it's a shame, because Gallo Nero was actually one of the restaurants that people enjoyed visiting, but this misconduct is absolutely out of the question and unacceptable.

ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTING!!! We have never experienced what happened to us in this restaurant. In the end we felt so bad that we left before even ordering. But let's start from the beginning. We had a reservation for 5 people at 8 p.m. and were really looking forward to an evening together with friends. We chose the Gallo Nero because we were here about a year ago. We were quite satisfied at the time, even if we didn't think the price-performance ratio was quite right. When we arrived this time, we were asked to wait outside for a moment because they still had to prepare our table. However, this was still occupied by other guests. After waiting outside for 10 minutes in the rain, we asked again and were asked rather rudely to continue waiting. After more than 20 minutes of waiting, we were shown to our table. In our opinion, this was far too small for 5 people and was more or less directly in the passage. The chairs were a bit wobbly. Within the first 2 minutes we were slightly jostled several times by the staff passing by, which was definitely due to the unsuitable location of the table because it was too narrow. When we wanted to mention the long waiting time again, we were told in a very unfriendly manner that “this is not a bank where we have to keep appointments and we could go somewhere else”. Why do you reserve a table at a specific time? All we would have liked was an honest apology. We then ordered a bottle of water to arrive properly. When the service wanted to pour it for us, the boss held him back. Unfortunately, this was finally too much for us and we decided to leave. When we finally wanted to have a clarifying conversation, a friend of ours was grabbed by the arm and directed towards the exit. At this point we would like to make it clear that this invasive behavior is in no way acceptable. We will never visit Gallo Nero again. We cannot and do not want to subject ourselves to what we believe to be absolutely disrespectful behavior from the boss again. We definitely know Italian hospitality differently!

Pizza basically had no crust in the middle, it just consisted of tomato sauce. The edge was too thick in comparison. Pizza was delivered cold, we reported this to the waiter. Five minutes later the exact same pizza came back to the table “warmed up”, still cold, tomato topping now the consistency of soup. Actually, in a restaurant of this quality you would expect that you won't be charged the full price for a pizza that you complain about. Ambience: In the back right corner of the restaurant you sit so close to the neighboring tables that the neighbors completely entertained our table. Forcibly.

How would I bring together one of the most beautiful countries in the world, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, on one plate? Quite simply: "Gallo Nero" In the heart of Winterhude, this excellent Italian restaurant impresses with perfect cuisine, a very nice ambience and more than professional service with heart and skill. The waitress doesn't wash her hands after using the toilet! The quality of the food is like that of an average Italian restaurant. The prices, on the other hand, are like being in Monaco. A liter of water costs €9.80, absolute extortion. I definitely won't come back and regret spending so much money there.

We came with high expectations and were disappointed. The quality and preparation of the food does not justify the price. Gallo Nero's reputation is better than what lies behind it.

Location for special occasions. Very expensive, but also very good. We were there for a lavish banquet. That also worked great. The atmosphere is almost family-like. The fish that we had ordered in a salt crust was presented to us again beforehand. We also had a starter, salad and dessert. And matching drinks. Everything was very tasty and attractively served. The atmosphere is bright and friendly. The restaurant is rather small and angled, so it fills up quickly. But you sit spread out enough and not shoulder to shoulder. You should definitely reserve in advance. Finding a place spontaneously might be difficult. The service was attentive; We were a little early and were treated to dinner at the bar. Only later, when we - like the other guests - had completed various courses, did we often have to wait a bit. Understandable after such a day at work.

It was a very successful evening. The food was great and the waiter was very committed and accommodating.

Anyone who doesn't look like the typical Winterhude clientele - or is significantly younger - receives a somewhat condescending treatment from some service employees. The old balsamic vinegar was missing when we welcomed the house, glasses that were not yet empty were taken away and the pasta was not al dente and only average in taste. Excellent food meets excellent wine

On the occasion of my birthday we were guests at Gallo Nero. We were really looking forward to the evening and had high expectations based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, when we got there we had to speak to four different people to be brought to our table. In the meantime, a group that arrived after us was brought forward and seated at a table. Unfortunately, only the guests in front of us were asked whether we would prefer to sit inside or outside, but not us. Overall, the service was average to poor: among other things, we were repeatedly asked to turn on the heater because it was cold outside or we were not asked if we would like something more to drink. The starter and main course came quite quickly. So quickly that we hadn't finished the starter yet and the main course was already being served. Some of the things were cleared away while two of us were still eating. Overall, the food was expensive and tasted very weak. We had three pasta dishes and a pizza, which were consistently unconvincing. Additionally, -17€ - was charged for -3- prawns, which were ordered in addition to a pasta dish. On the bill these were billed as “various dishes” without comment. When asked what these “various dishes” were and that the price was unjustified, a bottle of olive oil was given as an apology. Nice accommodation, but overall just unpleasant and not something I would expect from a restaurant like this. Upon request, a dessert with a candle should be brought to the table due to the birthday. This never happened and after all this it was too stupid for us to have to point it out. What a shame! We were happy to be able to visit you and would have liked to come back.

This place was packed and recommended to be the best italian restaurant in Hamburg. I don't know why this saying exists because it's not. I tasted it and it was definitely not the best.

The food and the location are good. However, the service leaves more than to be desired. There were 8 of us eating and we had a low four-figure bill. We had to wait a long time for our drinks and only got them after asking several times. Upscale Italian with charm. Every time you visited Gallo Nero you felt very well looked after. The staff is always very attentive and makes the customer feel like they are there for them. Of course, you shouldn't expect to leave here with €10-15 per person, as this is an upscale restaurant. But even the higher prices are absolutely justified given the quality and dedication of the cuisine. The bread in advance tempts you to eat your fill because it is fresh and traditionally prepared. The greeting from the kitchen was always a successful surprise. The changing recommendation menu is worth trying out if you want to try something special Italian food away from the classic dishes. Another wish for improvement would be to recognize regular customers who have been there more than 5 times and to treat each other more personally and, like in many Italian restaurants, to drink a grappa or limoncello together ;-)

Super tasty , super great service, definitely a 10/10

Unfortunately a big disappointment and unfortunately overrated. After the wine was poured several times and the “greetings from the kitchen” (in which the beans were really supposed to be the best dish) were served two additional times, even though only two were specifically ordered, the carpaccio and the vitello tonato were rather tasteless . The pasta dishes that followed were extremely bland. The truffle, at a daily price of 33 euros, was hard, sticky and tasteless. The other dishes were also not convincing. At best the shrimp/aubergine dish was okay. We would have liked to have ordered another dessert, but wanted to avoid further disappointment. The service was also not particularly friendly or helpful. At the end we weren't asked how we liked it. Hence this review here. In Berlin, a restaurant with such high prices and the same quality would probably have little market chance. It's a shame, we really hoped for more!

In fine Winterhude near the Outer Alster, the whole world of Italian hospitality welcomes you. Of course you are proud of your performance, it was earned with consistent quality. The salt-crusted sea bass or the grilled beef fillet are top notch. What we really like is the 4-course surprise menu, it represents a nice cross-section of the Gallo Nero cuisine. The pizza with potatoes and truffles is a dream and if there is fresh octopus in tomato sauce, be sure to grab it, the taste is excellent. If luck greets you, you can also have veal cheeks or the very fine yellowfin tuna. Days like these make a stay in Gallo Nero an experience. You consciously live the fresh and high-quality creative Mediterranean cuisine. What is characteristic of Gallo Nero's cuisine is the high quality and consistency with which the dishes are prepared. Of course, for this reason the menu is kept small and the guest is informed daily about the special dishes. We just say veal cheeks! Gallo Nero uses high-quality meat from Fassona beef, which is one of the finest cattle in the world. Anyone who tries this meat will be amazed by its tenderness and taste. The service is very good, if not perfect and with good expertise. You know the menu as well as the wine list, so you can get very good advice here. The wines from Aetna, which Seniore Falco imports herself, are now an experience for us. Thanks to detailed advice and of course tasting, most of our rosé comes from this region. If you feel like it, you can enjoy the variety of three walk-in wine cabinets and their wealth of selection and regions. In summer you can enjoy Bella Italia on the covered terraces.

As always - fantastic service, great food, good wines

Food was good - but to be honest, like every Italian restaurant around the corner, it was only twice the price. The “greeting from the kitchen” was hard bread from 3 days ago that not even ducks would eat. But at least you were allowed to pay for it. Hard white bread with olive oil for €5 - who wouldn't buy that? Service was heartless and unaccommodating - also rather untypical for Italians and even more so in the price range. We had to ask several times if we could refill the wine as it wasn't on our table. After our main course was cleared, we wanted to order dessert. But we were ignored for 20 minutes. We had heard a lot of good things and therefore had very high expectations for the evening. Unfortunately, these were not even remotely fulfilled and it was our first and last visit.

Gallo Nero has been my favorite Italian restaurant in Hamburg for many years. I have no idea how many times we've eaten there, we've never been disappointed! Yesterday I celebrated my birthday there - it was a great experience all around: the lively Italian atmosphere, perfect service from Ludovika in perfect harmony with Corrado and his daughter Nina and a great menu with precisely matched wines ( Franciacorta brut Rose Monterossa, 2020 I Ferretti (Friolano) Luisa, 2016 Casalferro (Merlot) Barone Ricasoli) gave me a wonderful evening, for which I would like to thank you very much: We first had a "special greeting from the kitchen", then Norwegian salmon tartare with avocado cream of ponzu sauce. This was followed by toasted sourdough slices with melted Scarmorza cheese, covered with lots of slices of winter truffles. The next course consisted of a trio of classic Italian starters, followed by homemade fine ribbons of pasta in a Parmesan wafer, topped with lots of truffle slices. We then drizzled a few drops of the outstanding olive oil over it and served it with the home-baked bread. The main course consisted of either monkfish medallions with date tomatoes or tagliata from Piedmontese Fassona beef on rocket salad, Sicilian date tomatoes and old balsamic vinegar. The ladies at the table chose the fish, the men the meat and everyone was very happy with the choice!😎. The finale was a matcha dessert... No question, the kitchen had once again outdone itself and when we left well after midnight, we were just happy that we celebrated our birthday at Gallo Nero - a big thank you from all of us 🥰 PS: please don't forget to reserve in advance (even on warm days when the garden is open), because all tables are always occupied

All in all, a great evening in a lovely atmosphere with excellent food. Beforehand we ordered a Margherita (13.50 euros) as an appetizer to share. The dough was very airy and delicious. The tomato sauce tasted fruity and fresh. For the main course we ordered the truffle pasta (daily price, for us 32.50 wuro each). A culinary delight. Accompanied by a matching bottle of red wine (Verruzo, 53 euros). We immediately remembered it for home. A bottle of water for 9.80 euros. At first we were seated at a small table, an attentive waiter kindly offered us a larger table, which we found to be very attentive. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. Poured wine regularly. It is particularly positive to note that I... I reserved a table online in advance and I am usually mistaken for a man because of my ambiguous name. This is the first time this hasn't happened, which I found to be very professional. There is nothing to criticize. The price category is a bit high, but you get great food and ambience for it. In total we paid 141.30 euros.

The fat waiter with a beard was extremely unfriendly to us, he laughed at us because we only ordered a small amount. Also, our one pizza came 10 minutes after the other pizzas came. Definitely not a recommendation. Throw the fat one out!

Unfortunately, it felt like I was a tourist abroad being ripped off while visiting a restaurant. As is usual in such establishments, you are given bread at the start and a rhetorical question as to whether we would like olive oil with it. Since it's common to get butter or cheese with it, I just said yes. When we sat down we were also asked whether we would prefer still or carbonated water. The type of question gives the customer a different feeling. Let's come to the main course, unfortunately there was little to no choice of pasta with meat in it. When I asked, the waiter offered to put strips of beef on it. I already knew that it wasn't free. However, looking at the bill was shocking. 10€ for a bottle of water 5€ for the bread 5€ for the olive oil The price of my main course was DOUBLE. I have no problem paying a lot of money for good food and service. However, I also expect corresponding quality and service. In a restaurant of this price range, it's really shocking how hidden extra charges are thrown at you. The quality of the food was above average. I wouldn't recommend it, there are much better alternatives in Hamburg.

We've been so happy several times that we wanted to come back. This time, however, we were not received with a menu, the water we ordered, bread or attention for over 35 minutes. The food was first returned, but then it was oily, low-spice pasta and the wine only came after we asked again. The tables were not full, which would have made us excuse this inconvenience. What's going on there? So we won't come back. A pity!!!

One of the worst experiences in all of Hamburg. The service wasn't worth a cent, unfriendly and incomparably unprofessional, the food wasn't even remotely worth the price and we were just happy when we were out again. Definitely never again.

The food was very good. Unfortunately the service is not. The main course came and we hadn't finished the starter yet. There was no more Aperol and no alternative was offered. We took Rose, the first one wasn't half dry as requested, so the waiter said he couldn't give dozens of bottles to try. We just asked for an alternative. Overall, you had the feeling that you wanted to have a quick breakfast. Given the prices, I hoped for more.

In my opinion a very cozy little restaurant. We sat a little apart, which made it easy to chat even with many visitors. A small recommendation from me is to dust off more often. This is particularly visible in the many sauce lids. (That's why 4.5 instead of 5 stars) We ate our way across the menu and were ultimately very happy with the selection. For some of the dishes we relied on the waiter's recommendations and I didn't regret it. Bruschetta, burrata, truffle pasta, pizza and dessert were delicious. As far as I know, the dishes were slightly adapted to the German palate (at least the pasta). But I don't see that as negative in any way, it's just a feeling on my part. We'll definitely come back. If necessary with customers from Italy to challenge everyone in the kitchen. :)

Wow Wow This place is special from start to finish with an amazing array of dishes and wines. Such a selection it makes it hard to choose but both my dishes were winners.

Unfortunately, unfortunately this restaurant has suffered extremely. Especially with the exorbitant prices, which are absolutely not justified! E.g. for a glass of 0.2 wine €15.90 - that's bordering on usury! A bottle of mineral water €9.80! Also usury! Over €83 for 4 glasses of wine and 2 bottles of water...is that still possible? This restaurant is canceled for me!

A very mixed evening at Gallo Nero. Beforehand we had only heard good things about this Hamburg Italian. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Basically a nice atmosphere, but the clientele who mainly dine there is probably a matter of taste, flashy Rolexes and a certain arrogance seem to be part of good form. The food was generally okay, but nothing outstanding. However, what struck us most negatively was the waiter who served us. When serving the amuse gueule, I placed the cloth server on my lap so that the waiter could put the plate down, who then reached into my lap and explained to me how to use a cloth server in an upscale restaurant. Extremely unpleasant. Furthermore, the amuse gueule was already served while we were all still looking at the menu. Furthermore, the restaurant advertises its large selection of wines, but the two wines we ordered could not be served to us because they were not chilled or could not be found. We were then served a much more expensive wine and were told without asking that this wine had less acidity than the one we wanted anyway. The waiter, with his exuberant demeanor, would probably be better off in a marketing department, but this demeanor was completely inappropriate for the service and led to an unpleasant atmosphere at the table. The menu was also decorated with many unmentionable details. Cold-pressed olive oil is to be expected in a fine Italian kitchen... Basically, it's definitely not a bad restaurant, we were probably just unlucky with the waiter who served us.

Price-performance ratio is not right. The food is good, but not exceptionally good. And the service isn't exceptionally good either. The bottom line is that it’s too expensive.

Wir mussten trotz Reservierung 30 Minuten draußen auf den Tisch warten; keine Entschuldigung oder einen Drink aufs Haus! Der Service war schlecht, und das Essen mittelmäßig. Wie gehen nie Wiese dort hin!

The best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The atmosphere the food the service everything was excellent. Mr. Savvas was very hospitable, and he has huge knowledge and experience about wines. I highly recommend it.

Meine Frau und ich waren gestern zum erste und bestimmt NICHT zum letzte Mal ins Gallo Nero und wir waren restlos zufrieden. Das Restaurant hat einer sehr schone Atmosphere, und die Speisen hatten eine sehr gute Qualität. Wir haben jede eine Vorspeise und ein Hauptgericht ( und eine Flache Wein ) und wir waren so satt das wir kein Platz zum Dessert hatten. Alles hat wunderbar geschmeckt.

What a pity! You invite your friends to “my favorite Italian restaurant” and experience a service disaster. We could have dealt with being unfriendly and inattentive, but everything that was preachy and even rude was very disappointing. Luckily the food and ambience were very good - as usual.

We made reservations with a larger group and it was no problem getting a large and relaxed place, even on Valentine's Day. The food was great, the wine was good and absolutely normal for a restaurant in this location. We had both pizza and pasta and everything was delicious. The service was super nice and we had a great evening at Gallo Nero and will definitely come back. I would still like to point out two things: We would have liked a little more bread, the tables of two around us had almost as much bread as the six of us. (Of course we could have spoken to them on site, but the main courses arrived promptly. A little more bread would still have been great.) And in some cases the portions were a bit very small. (especially with the filled pasta, two more would have been great to fill you up at that price) The desserts were very tasty and the affogato in particular was highly praised. :)

The waiters were stressed the whole time and passed that feeling on to us. The burrata pizza was bad as the burrata was very cold.

They lie about the prices, even though they obviously have cheaper prices on the online menu than what you end up paying. NEVER go there again. Brazen.

The food was, as always, very tasty. Due to additional sales based on recommendations, you can easily be asked to pay €125 for one person instead of the €30 for the main course, and this at a round table in the passage despite a reservation.

Dear Gallo Nero team! We went to Gallo Nero for the first time with our friends on Friday and can't understand the bad reviews at all. Our meals were really very good, and the dessert was also delicious. We would also particularly like to highlight the service from Chippi (Klaus-Johannes ;-)), such a friendly and nice person, we will definitely go to Gallo Nero again, even though we live on the other side of Hamburg. Keep it up!

Very nice staff, best pizza bread, and lots of fresh bread. We ordered starter variations for our group. It was served little by little in small, very tasty portions. The pasta was freshly made and tasted perfect. We relied on the wine recommendation and the wine went very well and was excellent. Perfect Italian food

We recently visited Gallo Nero and had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a staff member who unfortunately came across as quite unfriendly, leaving us initially wondering about our choice. However, the atmosphere shifted positively thanks to our amazing waiter. He was incredibly attentive and went out of his way to accommodate my girlfriend’s food intolerances, which was greatly appreciated. As for the food, it was delicious and well-prepared, though I must note that the prices seemed a bit steep. It appears that you're paying a premium for the location. Overall, while the service from our waiter was outstanding and the food was enjoyable, the initial interaction and the pricing did somewhat impact our experience
