Don’t get distracted by the name :) It’s a very cool, casual, but also a touch of a fancy place! The display of fish looks really nice, and fresh! The price setting feels a little bit higher than excpected, but overall I would recommend this place and be a regular here.

The restaurant is located on a side street off Ku'Damm. In summer, you can sit on the wide sidewalk, but the surroundings aren't exactly great: heavy traffic, and the S-Bahn bridge is nearby. But here's the big BUT: the fantastic food makes up for it all. There were five of us there, and we all had something different; and everyone loved it.

I've rarely experienced such professional service, especially the waiter. The food: unbelievably good! The freshness of the products, the presentation, the flavors... Great! And the wine, too. It was a truly wonderful evening! The way to a person's heart is through their stomach. A good meal with attentive service is simply quality of life and an art that makes life better! Excellent dishes, especially the fish, and outstanding service – we come regularly! However, in the summer, it's very hot without air conditioning, which is stressful for guests and especially for the staff. With air conditioning, it would be perfect!

A magnificent evening in a stylish ambiance. Upon entering, the impressive fish counter catches the eye – fresh daily and beautifully presented. The preparation is spot-on, sophisticated, and full of flavor. The starter was a delicious seafood pasta dish, which perfectly fit the concept without overshadowing the fish. Accompanied by a fine glass of wine, the evening was a perfect one. A definite recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy first-class fish in Berlin!

We visited this restaurant for lunch, the staff was very polite and friendly. A large selection of dishes, the choice of fresh fish and seafood is unreal. To our taste, the food was mediocre, without any delights. Quite a lot of sauces in each dish, which clearly interrupts the taste of fish and seafood.

Amazing cauliflower! This green dip is also pretty good!

High quality fish with a modern twist. Homemade sauces are spectacular. Gluten free and lactose free options. Many vegetarian sidedishes also available. We ordered sea bream ceviche, which was perfect in its citric flavour and texture, and the pulpo a la vera, which had an exceptional sauce with a spicy spark. All the vegetarian sidedishes had the perfect point of salt and texture. We loved the smoky flavour of the green asparagus. The service was exceptional. A must in Berlin if you are looking for fresh fish but want to flee the typical seafood or fish traditional restaurant, modern cuisine with a young vibe.

I go to Funky Fisch quite often because the food consistently exceeds expectations, it’s truly some of the best in town! But it’s not just the food that keeps me coming back; the staff is absolutely incredible. Every team member is friendly, attentive, and genuinely service-minded, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A special shout-out to Tzunami! He’s not only a fantastic host but also makes some of the best drinks you’ll ever have. If you happen to visit while he’s working, you’re definitely in for a treat.

Funky Fish is always worth a visit. Great food, great ambiance, great wines, and the icing on the cake are the wonderful people in service, behind the bar, and in the kitchen. Very attentive, always in a good mood, and always ready for a few personal words. We always enjoy coming back to "our" Funky Fish Berlin.

We really struggled to find a fish restaurant in Berlin but, luckily we found Funky Fisch. A little shabby chic from the outside but the welcome, the service and most importantly the fish and wine were fantastic. We are so pleased we found Funky Fisch for our last dinner in Berlin. Thank you team, you made our night.

Paid 45 euros for two portions of 'unfinished' poke bowls that I took to go. It's without rice and raw. Tastes spicy but nothing special. Had also 100ml of Riesling. The waiters, while very polite and friendly, told me they usually serve extra bread and olives but the bread is 'baking', so I didn't get any. The toilet smelled very funky, indeed, and the raw fish on display looked stale. The restaurant might want to consider joining food rescue programmes. Not sure why Berlin can't get fish right.

We both had the octopus, which was quite good quality. The portions were rather small. The tomato sauce, in particular, was far too overpowering for us and didn't allow the octopus to really shine. Not a good combination for me; I've had simpler, and therefore much more refined, dishes. Our second drink order was forgotten once, but otherwise the service was OK.

I highly recommend "Funky Fish"! The food is truly excellent and the atmosphere is super cool! We've been there several times and had a great evening every time. We'd love to come back!

Delicious, pleasant, worth the price We really enjoyed our dinner for five: If you like, you can choose a piece of fish at the counter or choose from the menu. We had ceviche, fried calamari, and Pimientos de Padron as starters, and prawns, fish with risotto, and bouillabaisse as main courses, along with cocktails and a Sauvignon from the Palatinate region. Everything was extremely tasty and prepared in an original way, but without being awkward or contorted. We were delighted with the chocolate with ice cream and the crème brûlée with passion fruit for dessert. The service is particularly pleasant: consistently friendly, competent, and always available without being intrusive. The ambiance is bright and relaxed. One very small criticism: tablecloths would be nice!

If you love fish, you should definitely visit this restaurant.

Like the name you get all sorts of funky fish here - from tuna, hamachi, octopus, scallops and oysters. Everything cooked to perfection - grilled and served with just a little salt and tangy, funky sauces. If you fancy anything not on the menu, just ask. We wanted one raw oyster and one tempura oyster each - just fantastic!

Hausgemachte Limetten-Limo: sehr gut Service: aufmerksam, professionell, kenntnissreich zum Angebot und freundlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Meine neue TOP Empfehlung in der Berlin City-West, wenn es um Fisch geht.

Wieder ein tolles Erlebnis. Natürlich ist es etwas teurer, aber qualitativ sehr gut. Toll gewürzte Poke, zarter Oktopus im (großen) Salat, perfekt gegarter Thunfisch auf außergewöhnlichem Kräuterreis, zarter Tempura-Gemüse-Fisch-Mix, kräftige Hummer-Pasta und zum Abschluss eine feine Crème Brûlée mit Ingwereis. Sehr kreativ und handwerklich perfekt. Der Funky Fisch Rosé war glücklicherweise nicht fruchtig und passte ebenfalls sehr gut. Der wirklich perfekte Service rundete einen für uns sehr tollen Abend ab. Lieben Dank noch mal und macht weiter so. Wir kommen leider nicht oft, aber sehr gern wieder.

It was an amazing experience! The service in this restaurant is the best from what I saw in Germany so far. They proposed me to have an extra meal for free because I didn’t enjoy a soup (not because it was bad, but because it wasn’t for my taste). I said that I’ll take 2 oysters instead, and the waiter said he will bring 3 :) when he came back, he brought 4 oysters for me for free… I was amazed. Also the waiters answered all our questions, were very nice and caring. It was such an experience. 💛

The staff is very polite, but what bothered us was the seating. First, we were asked if we were in or out. Out. Okay. Then please go to the left. We sit down, no, the table is only for four. Mmm, then to the right, but also at a small two-seater. Okay. Fun fact: During our stay, only teams of two sat at the four-seaters, which was very unpleasant. The service was mixed; on the way back from the restroom, I had to walk around a group of employees in the middle of the way. Sorry to bother you! But let's get down to business... The food was delicious! We had the tacos (!?), the small flatbreads with filling. They were so good that we had a second portion. Ceviche was super fresh. The popcorn prawns were amazing 👍! The tuna risotto was also great. And the dessert, creme brulée with ginger ice cream, was also a great combo. I have to say, the food was the best of all the TV chefs! Fresh, light and delicious!

Nach längerer Zeit wieder eingekehrt: der Oktopus war fest wie Leder, ließ sich kaum mit dem Messer kleinschneiden und das Kauen war eine Zumutung! Sowas haben wir weder in Berlin noch in Frankreich oder Spanien erlebt. Die Bouillabaisse kam eher einer Gulaschsuppe mit Fischeinlage gleich. Wir verzehren wöchentlich gegrillte Fischgerichte und Meeresfrüchte, während unseres jährlichen Langzeiturlaubes am Meer sogar täglich. Unser Abendessen war eine große Enttäuschung bis auf die Austern.

Rip-off – after two hours, four of us ladies were escorted out. This wasn't mentioned when we made the reservation over the phone, and it's not listed on the website. We wanted to celebrate a birthday and were shocked when we had to leave so suddenly. I don't want to go back there again.

Das Essen war ein Geschmackserlebnis. Aber wir wurden nach 2 Stunden herauskomplementiert, die nächsten Gäste warten schon. Dieses wurde bei der Reservierung nicht gesagt und es steht nicht auf der Webseite. Das bei dem Geld, welches wir in das Essen investiert haben - über 420 €, fand ich mehr als dreist.

Very loud, expensive, the food was quite okay, the service was super friendly, but unfortunately, we were rudely kicked out after two hours because the "table had already been sold." This happened even though we had a reservation, weren't informed that we only had two hours (we wouldn't have done that anyway), and had to wait 30 minutes for our main course. So we stood outside in the rain with our birthday girl, holding a bill for €430 (for four people). This won't be my favorite place...

Really good fish, really well prepared, and really friendly, quite funny, AND professional service (yesterday, anyway, was a bit different). It's not cheap, but the food is worth the price. Just don't plan on spending a long evening sitting around; the ambiance isn't conducive to that, in my opinion.

We were here for lunch. Had the mixed temoura, fish buns, cod from the counter and the funky fish salad. We liked everything very much! Service was on point. We'll be back!

After a long time, I was back at FunkyFisch, where I used to enjoy eating. Unfortunately my last visit was rather disappointing. The service was very friendly and accommodating, but you couldn't help but feel like you had to leave as quickly as possible. As soon as we took our seats at 6:15 p.m., we were reminded that our table would be reassigned at 8:15 p.m. - information that was communicated to us both when we made the reservation and again by telephone. This time limit was like a permanent shadow over our entire evening: As soon as the plates were half empty, they were already cleared away and asked for dessert, and even when the glasses were half full, people actively asked whether we wanted to order more. This created an unpleasant, hectic atmosphere that made our stay quite stressful and un-relaxing for me. In the end we even decided to leave voluntarily before 8 p.m. For just under €100 for two and a stay of just 90 minutes, I found this experience to be inappropriate. The food was okay, but given the prices you can definitely eat better in Berlin - both in terms of quality and atmosphere. It's a shame because I used to really enjoy coming here. There won't be another evening visit for me any time soon - maybe once for lunch if I don't have much time anyway.

Die Speisekarte ist kreativ und bietet eine frische Interpretation klassischer Fischgerichte. Der Fisch war absolut frisch und perfekt zubereitet – ein echter Gaumenschmaus! Funky Fisch ist mehr als nur ein Restaurant – es ist ein Ort, an dem man sich wohlfühlt und gerne wiederkommt.

Quick Buissenes lunch for me and my husband. Try something new. When you come in you are called on your first name, which I personally find disrespectful. Bread and olives come quickly. But then... we wait. As other guests make their way to the (clear) fresh food counter and choose something, I wave to an Asian waitress and ask whether you order at the table or at the front of the counter. She answers "Yes". At some point we have our food (you could also order at the table) and it's okay. Not great, but okay. Ambience rather run down. Some pieces are missing from the wooden floor, creating a tripping hazard. Plus point: Warm water for washing hands in the toilets.

Fantástico restaurante de pescado con divertidos murales en las paredes y un mostrador de pescado fresco para que puedas elegir lo que te gustaría. El servicio estaba allí, ya que tuvimos que coger un tren. Nos encantaron las palomitas de maíz y todo estaba muy bien presentado.

Best fish (and seafood) in a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff is very attentive & up to the task (aka knowledgeable about the items on the menu, including wine). The interior is very basic but spot-on for a guide-ranked resto. Highly recommended while it’s still newish as it will likely get harder and harder to get a table there as time goes on.

The restaurant really surprised us positively and exceeded our expectations. The service in particular was first-class, always proactive and there without being a nuisance. The selection of fish and dishes is great, especially the various smaller starters to try out. You can also order a tuna steak here. The price was already very high, but in the end we found it to be appropriate for the quality. We would be happy to come back again.

Can't like the place with its canteen atmosphere. It may be that my taste is special or just different, but a nice ambience in which I feel comfortable and am happy to pay these prices looks different to me. This didn't make up for the food...it was a maximum of a 5 out of 10...I won't go back

Absolutely stunning, can't wait to come back to Berlin just to go to this restaurant. Staff were attentive but not fussy, we asked if we could lick the plates and they said there was nobody stopping us! They make one of the sauces for the gambas from shrimp they pulse in the thermomix, which adds a richness to it that is divine. We had 300g yellowtail, 4 oysters, two sides, two glasses of chardonnay, 4 giant prawns, 2 scallops and each mouthful was as delicious as the last. One of the most memorable meals of my life.

We came by without a reservation, everything was fully booked, hopeless. We were very sad and very hungry... you could tell that. As we were about to leave, Steve gave us the good news that two more seats at the bar would still be possible, just for an hour, but better than nothing. We had a great meal and felt completely at home, very nice service, great atmosphere. If it wasn’t for the rushed and not very attentive service, this place would get a 5/5 review from me. Incredible dishes, amazing mix of flavours, beautifully presented, high quality fish and seafood, as well as amazing wines. Unfortunately however, from the beginning of the meal a certain time pressure was put on us by our server… after not coming to our table once for the first 20 minutes she then arrived and while she took our order she said she’d have to bring starters and mains at the same time because otherwise we “wouldn’t have enough time”, blaming us for arriving late, which we didn’t… later when we were considering getting dessert she said “you don’t have time for that” and came with the bill as we were still finishing up, then sending her colleague to urge us to pay. For the price of this restaurant I found this unacceptable.. there shouldn’t be such a tight time slot for customers as it takes away from the enjoyment and relaxation that is meant to be a part of one’s dining experience.

Great fish restaurant, food was delicious, maybe best popcorn shrimp ever. Was for a birthday dinner, so ready to splurge a bit. End to end everything was really good, the only area for improvement would be the daily fish board. As only English speaker, this as you pick fish special was bit challenging to fully understand, even though the waiters were trying to explain, was just a bit difficult to translate it all via discussion. Which put a bit of a damper on the meal. Would still go back, and maybe second time that we know the score it would be better

€20 for a glass of 0.2 wine (prices on the menu are for 0.1 but you get 0.2 without asking) is pretty steep. Some fish that was probably good and delicate but was served in a kind of super sour lemon sauce together with far too spicy chillie. In addition, there is a completely aloof waiter who talks to you the whole time. I think there are much better ways to leave €100 in the area. Nothing about the experience was exclusive or in any way good enough to justify the price…

One of the best restaurants I've ever visited! We had salmon and octopus carpaccio as a starter - both incredibly fresh and delicious. For main courses we tried the tuna with risotto, funky pasta, king prawns and the tuna steak. Every dish was perfectly prepared and a real taste experience. We also had an excellent wine that rounded the whole thing off wonderfully. The location is modern and stylish, the staff is super friendly and attentive. You can tell that great emphasis is placed on quality here, both in the ingredients and in the service. For me, FunkyFish is a highlight in Berlin and a clear recommendation for everyone who loves fresh and excellent food. Thank you for this unforgettable evening!

We got a reservation day of. Helpful, friendly staff who explained the fresh seafood on display. We ordered a mix of menu dishes (Gambas, Octopus, sides) and picked out fresh fish. The sauces were on-point. The pulpo (octopus) was a tad chewy, wish it was tender but overall, satisfied with our dishes. Got a window table, which had nice ambience and privacy. Service time was a bit slow. Would return here again

You can order at the counter at a well-stocked fish counter with fresh products. Choose preparation and side dishes, as well as suitable wines from the rare menu. Service very committed and friendly. The slightly simpler version of Ducs Restaurants but great quality, very tasty and absolutely good value for money.
