Best fish (and seafood) in a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff is very attentive & up to the task (aka knowledgeable about the items on the menu, including wine). The interior is very basic but spot-on for a guide-ranked resto. Highly recommended while it’s still newish as it will likely get harder and harder to get a table there as time goes on.

The restaurant truly surprised us and exceeded our expectations. The service, in particular, was first-class, always proactive and attentive without being intrusive. The selection of fish and dishes is excellent, especially the various smaller appetizers to try. You can also order a tuna steak here. The price is quite high, but ultimately we felt it was appropriate for the quality. We would be happy to come back again.

Can't like the place with its canteen atmosphere. It may be that my taste is special or just different, but a nice ambience in which I feel comfortable and am happy to pay these prices looks different to me. This didn't make up for the food...it was a maximum of a 5 out of 10...I won't go back

Absolutely stunning, can't wait to come back to Berlin just to go to this restaurant. Staff were attentive but not fussy, we asked if we could lick the plates and they said there was nobody stopping us! They make one of the sauces for the gambas from shrimp they pulse in the thermomix, which adds a richness to it that is divine. We had 300g yellowtail, 4 oysters, two sides, two glasses of chardonnay, 4 giant prawns, 2 scallops and each mouthful was as delicious as the last. One of the most memorable meals of my life.

If it wasn’t for the rushed and not very attentive service, this place would get a 5/5 review from me. Incredible dishes, amazing mix of flavours, beautifully presented, high quality fish and seafood, as well as amazing wines. Unfortunately however, from the beginning of the meal a certain time pressure was put on us by our server… after not coming to our table once for the first 20 minutes she then arrived and while she took our order she said she’d have to bring starters and mains at the same time because otherwise we “wouldn’t have enough time”, blaming us for arriving late, which we didn’t… later when we were considering getting dessert she said “you don’t have time for that” and came with the bill as we were still finishing up, then sending her colleague to urge us to pay. For the price of this restaurant I found this unacceptable.. there shouldn’t be such a tight time slot for customers as it takes away from the enjoyment and relaxation that is meant to be a part of one’s dining experience.

We came by without a reservation, everything was fully booked, hopeless. We were very sad and very hungry... you could tell that. As we were about to leave, Steve gave us the good news that two more seats at the bar would still be possible, just for an hour, but better than nothing. We had a great meal and felt completely at home, very nice service, great atmosphere. An all around successful experience! From the excellent service to the fine fish dishes. We really enjoyed the evening and were particularly impressed with the sauces for the fish. Absolutely worth the price. 10/10!

Great fish restaurant, food was delicious, maybe best popcorn shrimp ever. Was for a birthday dinner, so ready to splurge a bit. End to end everything was really good, the only area for improvement would be the daily fish board. As only English speaker, this as you pick fish special was bit challenging to fully understand, even though the waiters were trying to explain, was just a bit difficult to translate it all via discussion. Which put a bit of a damper on the meal. Would still go back, and maybe second time that we know the score it would be better

€20 for a glass of 0.2 wine (prices on the menu are for 0.1 but you get 0.2 without asking) is pretty steep. Some fish that was probably good and delicate but was served in a kind of super sour lemon sauce together with far too spicy chillie. In addition, there is a completely aloof waiter who talks to you the whole time. I think there are much better ways to leave €100 in the area. Nothing about the experience was exclusive or in any way good enough to justify the price…

One of the best restaurants I've ever visited! We had salmon and octopus carpaccio as a starter - both incredibly fresh and delicious. For main courses we tried the tuna with risotto, funky pasta, king prawns and the tuna steak. Every dish was perfectly prepared and a real taste experience. We also had an excellent wine that rounded the whole thing off wonderfully. The location is modern and stylish, the staff is super friendly and attentive. You can tell that great emphasis is placed on quality here, both in the ingredients and in the service. For me, FunkyFish is a highlight in Berlin and a clear recommendation for everyone who loves fresh and excellent food. Thank you for this unforgettable evening!

We got a reservation day of. Helpful, friendly staff who explained the fresh seafood on display. We ordered a mix of menu dishes (Gambas, Octopus, sides) and picked out fresh fish. The sauces were on-point. The pulpo (octopus) was a tad chewy, wish it was tender but overall, satisfied with our dishes. Got a window table, which had nice ambience and privacy. Service time was a bit slow. Would return here again

You can order at the counter at a well-stocked fish counter with fresh products. Choose preparation and side dishes, as well as suitable wines from the rare menu. Service very committed and friendly. The slightly simpler version of Ducs Restaurants but great quality, very tasty and absolutely good value for money.

Recommend the Spicy Popcorn Shrimp and the Sea Bream Ceviche!

Friendly and attentive staff, good pace of service -- we went for lunch. Menu has a lot of options without being overwhelming and we loved every dish we ordered making it hard to pick a favourite. A little on the pricier side but still fair all things considered.

It is also one of my absolute favorite restaurants, especially in my beloved Kantstr. You can't eat fish better anywhere in Berlin. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely pay a visit to the restaurant and be impressed by the fresh fish counter. The selection is outstanding and everything is incredibly fresh. No matter what we have tried so far, everything has tasted incredibly good. And as with all Duc restaurants, the service is outstanding and every visit becomes a real experience 👌🏼

If you make a reservation at 8:30 p.m. you expect to have a table then. Unfortunately, we had to wait 30 minutes for our table and were asked if we wanted to walk around the block in December... so we waited in the entrance and were offered drinks, but unfortunately there was no accomodation due to the delay. Even though it was just water. Unfortunately, everything is a bit disappointing in that regard. Especially at the price. But the main thing is to try to sell us a second bottle of wine three times. Food was ok. I won't come back as I expect slightly better treatment. Thanks :)

What can I say except WOW!? Thanks to the fabulously relaxed, friendly team in front of and in the kitchen. You can have fantastic food in many places in Berlin, but the unpretentious yet highly professional and attentive nature of the service team at Funky Fish impressed me. I'll be back.

Nice staff and super delicious food

We are regulars at Madame Ngo and wanted to finally try Funky Fish today. Unfortunately we were ignored at the entrance until the head waiter came and arrogantly asked, “Oh, that’s how you were at first?” We answered “Yes”. The other guests clearly looked “like more money”. We were rejected at 3:13 p.m. because there were supposedly no free seats without a reservation. I come from the catering industry myself and to us it seemed more like they wanted to keep the space free for people with “more money”. There was also space everywhere in the restaurant, which of course makes sense at 3:13 p.m. In the Afterwards we could see that guests left the restaurant right after us and made room. It's a shame we had a bad experience here, we would have liked to try the fish and also had patience to wait. We can therefore no longer recommend the store. Thank God there are still many alternatives in Berlin that people from your professional field also accept.

Food was tasteless, octopus was firm and rubbery, aioli was almost plain mayonesse and waiter was making us feel that we need to rush. Had big expectations from this place. Totally dissapointend!

Endlich mal wieder einen Laden in Berlin gefunden, wo man alles bekommt !! Das Essen war eine 10/10 (Popcorn Shrimps - ich will nie wieder etwas anderes essen), das Ambiente ist super sympathisch, rustikal und gemütlich und der Service ist mehr als einwandfrei!! ROMAN hat uns ab Türschwelle durch den Abend begleitet & weiß einfach genau was zu tun ist, damit sich jeder Gast maximal wohlfühlt, bester Mensch ! Danke für diesen super Abend bei & mit euch <3

No te dejes llevar por el exterior desaliñado. En su interior se encuentra lo más fresco de pescado fresco, mesas ordenadas y una decoración magra. Todo es sobre el pescado, pero las verduras al lado siendo tan bueno fue una sorpresa positiva. Los lados estaban un poco en el extremo caro pensé, pero los platos principales a un precio razonable. El restaurante es muy bueno en ostras - mi esposa tenía tres variedades diferentes y respondía por la frescura. Mi bacalao estaba perfectamente cocido al igual que el rodaballo de mi esposa. Este es un lugar agradable y sin pretensiones que hace exactamente lo que su título dice. Todo es sobre los peces. Y lo hace bien.

The best ceviche I’ve ever had. The sea bream. Don’t skip it. My server was awesome. So fun to talk to. Same with the hostess. Great food and a really beautiful modern atmosphere. And comfortable counter stools!

Hervorragendes Essen, vielfältige Auswahl, aufmerksamer Service, uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert! Wir wurden sehr gut beraten für eine richtig gut passende Speisenwahl.

Die Speisen waren sehr gut gewürzt, abgeschmeckt und auf den Punkt gegart. Die Bouillabaisse mit sehr gutem Geschmack aber überschaubarer Einlage. Ceviche und Tempura-Gerichte sehr gut. Durch die Betondecke ist es ungedämpft recht laut, im Vergleich mit dem benachbarten 893 unter gleicher Regie etwas robuster aber fast ebenso teuer. Die Preise - insbesondere für Getränke - sind recht hoch. Insgesamt ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, das man sich leider nicht allzu oft leisten wird.

The dishes were very well seasoned, seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bouillabaisse with very good taste but manageable contents. Ceviche and tempura dishes very good. Due to the concrete ceiling it is quite loud when unmuffled, compared to the neighboring 893 under the same control it is a bit more robust but almost as expensive. The prices - especially for drinks - are quite high. Overall, a culinary experience that unfortunately you won't be able to afford very often.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This place is the best!!! We had an opportunity to meet the interior designer of the restaurant and she is the sweetest person ever! The interior is spectacular. The neon lights make it modern and chic. The warm toned wood makes you feel cozy and relaxed. The stainless steel finish brightens up the place, and the open kitchen gives you a sense of comfort and familiarity. The staff is amazing! They are very hard working people and the nicest people I’ve ever met! Come visit funky fish if you want to try the best fish in town and like a good atmosphere! This is the best place I have ever been to in Berlin! The stuff is very hardworking and professional as well as nice and super sweet!! I could not recommend this place more! I got a chance to speak to the interior designer of the place who is also one of the nicest people I’ve met. I am very impressed by the interior and overall concept of the place. Very thankful for the opportunity to visit this amazing place. The restaurant is amazing! Please go there!!!!

A bit much “light and shadow” in one place. The starter - a mixed tempura - was good, but not “exciting”. The Japanese mayonnaise served with it was very good. For the main course I chose a young turbot from the display case, a beautiful, fresh fish. Since I wasn't asked how it should be prepared, I was a bit "sceptical", but decided to let myself be surprised. Unfortunately, that was a mistake; the fish came out of the oven with an unhealthy, dark color. Unfortunately, the upper fillets were completely overcooked, dry, almost leathery in consistency. The lower fillets are at least not quite as dried out, but unfortunately over-seasoned with a very salty seasoning mixture. Unfortunately, this fish died in vain, everything that could be done wrong was done wrong here. The waitress probably guessed - at least I wasn't asked how it tasted. Service was otherwise casual and good, although the waitress seemed a bit unexperienced when filleting the flatfish and also “cut away generously”. She obviously didn't know that the skin of turbot is removed (leathery, or with the cartilage that gives the "stone" butt its name) - but after the fish was so overcooked, removing the skin was a challenge even to me Challenge… The dessert, a wonderfully light and good creme brûlée made from passion fruit, was the best dish of the day, there's nothing wrong with it. Overall, a bit too “funky” and for me one of the worst prepared fish I have ever eaten in a restaurant that specializes in fish. It's a shame, because the restaurant actually promises "big things" in terms of presentation and the great fish counter.
