Fischkutter in Berlin

For us, the fish restaurant in Berlin! Great and fresh fish dishes. Good wine selection. Friendly service. Highly expensive, but value for money is right. The mixed grill plate for two people is recommended. Very fresh baguette with our own olive oil, which we bought straight away afterwards. Being able to sit on the outside terrace in warm temperatures is a special experience. Thank you, gladly again. Update 03.2025: Something different this time. Redfish and cod. Extremely fresh and fried to perfection. Once again we were very impressed with the service. Very happy again

I have rarely been so disappointed. We were at KaDeWe today and wanted to eat in the Fischotter restaurant - full of anticipation because the atmosphere looked really promising. It was busy, which is completely understandable. But the treatment of the guests was simply disrespectful. We stood in line for a long time and were completely ignored by the manager - a man in a dark blue suit, blonde hair slicked back. No eye contact, no explanation, no assessment of the waiting time. Other guests even kindly pointed out to him that there were a lot of people waiting and no one could find their way around. But he simply brushed it off as if it wasn't his problem. When we finally asked politely whether it would be our turn soon, we only received the short and unfriendly answer: “You don’t have to eat here.” We were so irritated that we asked whether we had really understood that correctly - whereupon he repeated it almost to the letter and in a much louder tone. It was so loud that surrounding guests also sat up and gave us understanding looks. This behavior was not only unprofessional, but downright condescending. We didn't feel like guests, but like disruptors. It's a real shame - our visit to KaDeWe was completely ruined. From a restaurant in a place like this you expect respect, service and a minimum of politeness. Unfortunately, all of that was completely missing here.

We go to the fishing boat very often and love the atmosphere and the very good, freshly caught fish.

I made reservations for three people this evening three weeks ago. I just received a call telling me that there is an evening event taking place this evening and that I should look for another restaurant. I find this to be a very unkind act.

A chilled-out sixth floor at KaDeWe with a variety of culinary delights. The Fischkutter offers a wide range of fish, from delicious crustaceans to Finkenwerder plaice. Of course, the matching wines round out the whole experience. I'll definitely be back.

Seafood salad very tasty. Corner table was an advantage and it was a Saturday afternoon and therefore a bit noisy. We'd love to come back because we were able to enjoy everything in peace despite the noise.

I had a wonderful lunch at Fischkutter today. The service was truly attentive, polite, and charming. You (unfortunately) rarely find that in Berlin. Jana served us and gave us excellent advice. I'd love to come back soon!

A real highlight for fish lovers! I ordered a whole sea bass with homemade salad at Fischkutter in KaDeWe for €33 – and it was absolutely worth it. The fish was fresh, perfectly prepared and tasted excellent. As a starter I had the oven crabs, which were also very tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the attentive and friendly service - the service was always present without being intrusive. Overall, a great experience for anyone who wants to enjoy high quality fish in a pleasant atmosphere.

We had an extremely friendly waitress who checked on us regularly, provided us with additional baguettes and seemed very attentive. The food, in this case a salmon, with the accompanying sauce and a small salad, wasn't a special offer but was worth it.

The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, the table and bench were a bit unclean and crumbly and the service was sometimes unfriendly.

Today we spontaneously went to dinner in the fishing boat. The food was very good and Jana was very attentive as a server. We were definitely not there for the last time :)

We had a great experience at the fishing boat on the 6th floor of KaDeWe. The waiter, Ken, was exceptionally attentive and friendly. As soon as we arrived, he pointed out a suitable table with a smile and made sure that everything was perfectly prepared. Our order was taken with attention to detail - even small requests such as water at room temperature were taken into account. Ken also explained the menu to us in detail and professionally and clarified any special requests with the kitchen. Top service as you would expect! Big praise – thank you very much!

A very nice, well-kept fish restaurant on the upper floor of the KaDeWe. The courteous service and the delicious fish dishes have made us stop by several times. We were always very satisfied. Disappointing visit to the KaDeWe fishing boat – quality varies: Yesterday evening I went to the KaDeWe fishing boat to eat fish again, as I have done many times before. A very friendly and attentive young lady greeted me and assigned me a table. Surprisingly, it was unusually quiet this time, which created a pleasant atmosphere. As usual, I ordered my favorite dish: a nice portion of monkfish fillet, accompanied by a salad as a starter. But unfortunately the quality this time left a lot to be desired. The salad came to the table lukewarm, as if it had been waiting all day. Although it wasn't spoiled, it wasn't really fresh either - rather disappointing. Even more surprising, however, was the 15 to 20 minute wait for my monkfish fillet, even though three chefs, at least three other cooks and service staff were present - and that was at low capacity. When my monkfish fillet was finally served, I was initially pleasantly surprised: the portion was generous, even slightly larger than usual. But with the first bite my good mood suddenly disappeared. The fish, although tender and visually appealing, was completely tasteless - no aroma, no taste, no enjoyment. If I had closed my eyes, I could have been chewing on a soft bun. Since I was very hungry, I ate the fish anyway. But as a regular guest who has a direct comparison to the visits of the last few weeks, this drop in quality was clearly noticeable. It seemed like the fish was either not fresh or had been previously frozen and thawed - which leaves exactly that tasteless impression. I honestly ask myself: Did I have to wait so long because my fish needed to be defrosted? Or maybe it was refrozen after thawing? In any case, the result was not a culinary delight, but rather a feeling of fullness - with a bit of bad luck, this can even lead to digestive problems. My conclusion: Unfortunately, the quality in fishing boats varies greatly. Next time I have an experience like this, I will approach the chef directly to request fresh fish. However, I would like to highlight the service positively: The staff is still very friendly, attentive and accommodating. I hope that the fishing cutter will raise the quality back to its usual high level in the future.

Ahoy, you hungry privateers! The "Fischkutter" is no ordinary restaurant - it's a pirate fortress full of delicious loot! As soon as you enter, you feel the touch of adventure: wooden planks, sailor's knots and a menu that could be designed like a treasure map. The kitchen? A real piece of gold! I boarded the “Kutterplatte” – a mountain of tender fish, crispy side dishes and a sauce that probably came from the depths of the treasure chest. Every bite was a treasure find, and I almost said "Arrrr!" knocked out with excitement. But the real highlight of the evening was Mr. Zingelmann, our charming and funny deck officer (aka waiter). With his humor and his perfect service, he rounded off the evening as if he were handing a bottle of rum to victory over the royal navy. His effort was so outstanding that even Captain Jack Sparrow would have been jealous! Conclusion: The “Fishing Cutter” is a paradise for hungry pirates. 5 out of 5 sabers - and I'll definitely come back to recover the next culinary treasure! 🏴‍☠️⚓️🐟

Coming here since 2010. the location has changed. The clientele too. More wannabes in KaDeWe nowadays . But the crew, service and attention i knew from the early days are still here and the food and wine is still amazing. Obviously little more expensive nowadays.

This is a place we visit every time and it is amazing every time. Remember to get in line at 11:40…. The restaurant opens at 12 but is very popular. Everything you try is great and of very good quality. You can also ask for a separate menu for oysters

The KaDeWe institution “Fischkutter” on the sixth floor certainly lives up to its reputation as a culinary highlight. Our experience was absolutely fantastic, with professional service ensuring every detail was taken care of with care. The highlight of the menu was undoubtedly the Scholle Finkenwerder Art – a traditional dish cooked to perfection and truly showcasing the charm of classic German cooking. It's comforting to know that some things never change, and the sixth floor of KaDeWe remains a foodie heaven, where nostalgia meets culinary quality. "Fischkutter" is a must for anyone who appreciates tradition combined with first-class quality. We will be back soon!
