Fuego del Sur in Kiel

I've only ordered takeout from there twice in the last two months: pizza and pasta. Pizza: Throwing on toppings is one thing, but if the base is already bad, the enjoyment is ruined. I mean, the pizza base was a bit soggy and completely tasteless. Pasta with porcini mushrooms: I understand that food prices are rising, but what kind of porcini mushrooms (canned) were on there??? And again, flavor neutralizer, and with porcini mushrooms of all things! Even the biggest glutton can get some flavor out of them with decent ingredients. It seems to be a financial issue here. I think that for €19.00, you can expect a bit more quality when ordering pasta out.

Very friendly service, delicious food and a perfect steak

Super nice, friendly service! We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco, which we enjoyed so much that one of us ordered another, and then we were offered a complimentary glass! The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious! We were also served bread with a selection of dips beforehand… these days, that's not something you can take for granted. We felt very comfortable and realized that guests really get their money's worth here! Hospitality is clearly a top priority! Thank you so much, we'll be back!

We celebrated our wedding at Fuego del Sur in May – and it was simply fantastic! Everything went absolutely smoothly, even during the planning phase. Communication was always open and very pleasant, which was especially important to us. All our wishes were taken into account, and the team went to great lengths to make them a reality – we want to emphasize that. On the day of the celebration itself, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff provided outstanding service. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we felt completely pampered. Our guests were also delighted. The food was truly excellent – ​​from classic dishes to vegetarian and vegan options, which were specially prepared for us. Individual requests from our guests were also easily accommodated. We particularly appreciated the fair and transparent pricing. There were attractive packages that could even be adjusted flexibly, so we ended up with a very well-rounded overall package. All in all: a beautiful venue with great service, fantastic food, and a team that is truly passionate about what they do. We can wholeheartedly recommend Fuego del Sur and are very grateful that we were able to celebrate our wedding there.

Wow! Fantastic, very friendly and professional service, amazing food, and generous portions. Highly recommended. We had the steak cooked on a hot stone, which was incredibly tender. The side dishes were perfect. We also ordered the Penne Fuego with beef and a creamy tomato sauce. I don't like penne, so I chose tagliatelle, which was easily arranged. The sauce was very light and fresh, not heavy like you often find elsewhere, and the meat was beautifully tender. Absolutely delicious! Great wines too!

We ate at Fuego del Sur twice during our week-long vacation, and it was fantastic each time! The first time was for my birthday. Everyone was welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine, and to top it all off, I got a tiramisu with a fountain. I was totally surprised and thought it was super nice! 🥳 If you'd like to eat a steak, we can wholeheartedly recommend the fresh steak on the lava stone, where you grill it yourself and can even control how cooked it is 👍🏼😋 But our other dishes (lamb and pizza) were also delicious! It was one of the best restaurant visits. And the most affordable meals I've ever eaten.

We always enjoy visiting this restaurant whenever we're in Kiel. The food is delicious and of high quality, and the service is very friendly.

It has so many good review, so I will list down what we have experience just to be legit. 1. We heard its very good so we called prior to book a table. We arrived and have to wait for a while until we have to approach the service. We were then lead to the outside table(which was fine) to an unclean table. Some people use it before. There were crumbs on the table and the cuttlery were not refilled. As the food arrive I have to walk in to ask for new cuttlery. 2. The food: we order steak medium well and get a well. It was okay overall. The salom pasta come with 3 pieces of Salmon about one iches each. The best tatsting food was the appetizer, which is baby calamari. Overall the ingredients quality (meat, calamari & salmon) were just okay. 3. The service: well no one was ever there. At the end we get the wrong wine (they put soda water in) and we wait to ask for changes but no one literally was ever there at our table except the moment they bring food out. So we have to go in and leave The bill over is normal price for eating for two, about 85. But if you are looking to take your partner somewhere nice with smooth service for a great date may be try to consider other place in Kiel too.

So, we spent our 10th wedding anniversary here, after having already celebrated our wedding here. We arrived an hour before closing time, and the team welcomed us warmly and, even though we were very short on time, served us excellently. They were very accommodating and simply fantastic. The food is of very, very high quality. We are very satisfied and will definitely be back. Yes, we spent an average of €50 per person, but we also had a good time and didn't pay attention to the money.

All in all, it's a good restaurant! We were a large group at this establishment, so the service during the ordering process was rather slow. In the end, we were only able to order our food after being there for 45 minutes. On the other hand, the drinks, as well as the food, arrived quickly. I had one of the house-made drinks, but unfortunately, I didn't like it, but that's a matter of taste. The appetizer was unworthy of this restaurant. The bread for the bruschetta was neither toasted nor garlicky. The tomatoes were covered in cheese and basil. Why!? For my main course, I had the fillet steak, and it was again outstanding. The fries were delicious and plentiful. The steak was juicy, tender, and extremely tasty. Unfortunately, the cooking was a bit underdone; my companions had better luck. The price is obviously very high, so I have to give it three stars. For the price, I expect a much better appetizer and faster service.

We've been to Fuego del Sur in Kiel several times now – and we've been absolutely thrilled every time. This restaurant truly understands how to combine quality, service, and atmosphere. The steaks are prepared exactly as we ordered them every time – even medium-rare, which unfortunately isn't always possible in all restaurants. Everything is just right here: The meat quality is excellent, the preparation is spot on, and the side dishes are fresh, delicious, and lovingly presented. The service also deserves high praise: The staff is always friendly, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. As a guest, you feel well looked after without it seeming contrived – simply authentic and warm. It's especially nice when the weather is good: Then you can sit outside, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and feel a little like you're on vacation with pleasant background music. The volume of the music is just right – it sets the mood without disturbing conversations. On one of our recent visits, the restaurant was busy, and the previous guest apparently dropped something under the table. We briefly informed the service staff about it – they responded immediately, offering a friendly apology and cleaning everything promptly. We completely understand: It can happen in any restaurant that a guest drops something – it's important that the service staff is informed and takes care of it immediately so that the next guest finds everything clean and inviting again. That's exactly what happened here – professional and solution-oriented. All in all, Fuego del Sur has become a true favorite restaurant for us. We always enjoy coming back – whether as a couple for a cozy evening or with friends for a special occasion. A definite recommendation!

The starters and main courses were very tasty and the portions were more than adequate. Adam's service was excellent, friendly, and he made every effort to ensure our guests were happy. Since the meal was so filling, there was unfortunately no room for dessert, only a digestive. A special service: If a woman can't decide between two options, they simply bring both. Excellent! If we're ever in Kiel again, we'll be back here.

Last year, I celebrated my birthday at the restaurant and was very satisfied. Yesterday, we returned to repeat the experience. My husband and I ordered the same two appetizers (4 plates in total): chorizo ​​and black pudding, and the three empanadas. However, the waitress only brought two appetizers for one person (2 plates). We explained to her that we had both ordered the same appetizers, and that's why the three empanadas, the black pudding, and the chorizo ​​were missing. No problem—everyone can make mistakes. After about 15 minutes, we called the waitress again and asked about the missing plates. Her response was, "Which food?" Already annoyed, we explained again, but she looked at us as if she were from another planet. It really seemed like she wasn't taking us seriously. We paid, stood up, and left. Bad service.

The side dishes (especially the fried potatoes!) aren't just a side dish, they're truly delicious and made with love. What impressed me most, though, is the service. Friendly, attentive, but never intrusive – you simply feel welcome. Whether it's just for two or with a larger group, the atmosphere remains relaxed and stylish. For me, this is by far the best steakhouse in Kiel – honest, reliable, and delicious. I'm always happy to come back!

The antipasti seemed to have been sitting around in a package for three days. Everything tasted the same, and there wasn't much to see of the advertised meat and fish selection on the platter. The main courses were good. The service was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance outside could be nicer. Under the differently colored umbrellas with advertising, you feel a bit like you're at a swimming pool.

The Fuego del Sur is a good, cozy restaurant where you can get a good steak as well as a delicious pizza or pasta. We've been here a time or two. Unfortunately today the appetizer we actually wanted (provoleta cheese) was no longer available, but the empanadas with cheese and ham were also delicious. However, a little more than three small pieces of ham would have been desirable. The pizza was very good! Thin base, fluffy edge and plenty of toppings - what more could you want?! The grill plate (three kinds of meat with potatoes, vegetables and hollondaise sauce) is also highly recommended. Conclusion: The Fuego del Sur is always worth a visit.

Reservieren dringend empfohlen, sonst wird es schwierig mit dem Platz, weil es immer ausgebucht ist und das zu Recht^^. Wer hier was auszusetzen hat, selbst schuld und die anderen Gäste werden es danken, weil sie dann eher einen Platz bekommen 😉. Super good food and large portions. We always enjoy coming here when we travel to Kiel. The price-performance ratio is right here. The mixed starter from country and more is highly recommended. But also the grilled salmon and the tagiatelle in lobster sauce with salmon. The staff was also really friendly and attentive. I can only report positive things.

We were there for brunch on a Sunday. We can recommend it. There is enough and a delicious buffet, cold and warm dishes. Reservation required if traveling with more than 2 people. There are enough parking spaces in the area.

In terms of food, it's just great. I always enjoy going there. Unfortunately, you always have to dress warmer, especially in winter, as it is quite cold there. Otherwise the ambience is very nice, especially in summer with the outdoor area. The staff is always friendly, even if they are often understaffed.
