BLOCK HOUSE Kiel in Kiel

Das Restaurant liegt nahe an der Fussgängerzone. Wir sind da ohne Reservierung hin und haben einen schönen Platz am Fenster erhalten. Die Speisekarte enthält schwergewichtig Fleisch, die Auswahl fällt nicht leicht. Wir haben uns für Steaks und Filet entschieden. Die Qualität des Fleisches war gut, nur hatte der Koch die eine Seite deutlich durchgebraten, die andere Seite war gerade noch OK. Grundsätzlich aber war es fein, genauso wie die Beilagen. Auch die Mengen waren gut proportioniert. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Preise sind sicher an der oberen Grenze, jedoch ok. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

Wer sein Steak Erlebnis auf die nächste Stufe erhöhen möchte, empfehle ich dieses Restaurant. Es muss einen dort klar sein, dass man für diese spitzen Qualität auch einen gewissen Preis bezahlen muss. Die Steaks die wir bestellt haben, waren auf dem Punkt so durch, wie es jeder haben wollte und die Beilagen haben die Gerichte bis zum Maximum perfektioniert. Dafür ein dickes Lob an die Köche. Der Service war top, super nett und hilfsbereit für ein paar Empfehlungen. Deshalb eine klare 5/5

Abendessen im Blockhouse Kiel Nach einem Spaziergang entlang der Kiellinie verspürte ich Hunger und machte mich auf die Suche nach einem Restaurant. Leider fand ich an der Kiellinie keine passende Möglichkeit zum Einkehren, also beschloss ich, in der Stadt nach Alternativen zu schauen. Gegen 21:30 Uhr fiel mir das Block House auf, wo ich auch zu dieser späten Stunde noch problemlos etwas bestellen konnte. Das Restaurant ist offen und einladend gestaltet, was für eine angenehme und entspannte Atmosphäre sorgt. Unterstützt von freundlichem Personal und gutem Service ließ sich der Abend entspannt ausklingen. Bestellung Nach einer kurzen Anmeldung am Empfang wurde mir ein Platz am Fenster zugewiesen, und ich wurde schon wenig später von einer freundlichen Mitarbeiterin bedient. Die Bestellung verlief schnell und unkompliziert. Ich entschied mich für den Steakhouse-Salat mit American Dressing. Der Salat war frisch und bestand aus einer Mischung aus Blatt- und Eisbergsalat, Tomaten, Paprika, Gurken, Zwiebeln, Rettich und Radieschen, ergänzt durch würziges Tomatenconfit und Kürbiskerne. Als Hauptgang wählte ich die Fitnesspfanne, die aus knackigem Gemüse und saftigen Rindfleischstreifen in würziger Pfefferrahmsauce bestand. Das Rindfleisch wurde wie gewünscht medium gebraten, und das Gemüse war, wie in der Speisekarte beschrieben, schön knackig. Dazu gab es das Block House Brot mit Knoblauch, frisch aus dem Ofen, sowie ein Glas Wasser. Die gesamte Mahlzeit wurde seitens Blockhouse mit 25,50 € berechnet Fazit Das Block House in Kiel überzeugt mit einer offenen Gestaltung und einer freundlichen Atmosphäre, die zum Verweilen einlädt. Schon beim Betreten war die positive Stimmung spürbar, und sie hielt während meines gesamten Aufenthalts an, was den Abend besonders angenehm machte. Obwohl das Block House in erster Linie als Steakhouse bekannt ist und der Fokus auf Fleischgerichten liegt, gibt es auch eine Auswahl an vegetarischen Speisen, die in der Karte klar gekennzeichnet sind. Zudem bietet die Website die Möglichkeit, sich über Allergene und Nährstoffe zu informieren – ein nützlicher Service für alle, die darauf achten müssen. Insgesamt bietet das Block House eine gelungene Mischung aus Qualität, Service und Atmosphäre, die mich gerne wiederkommen lässt.

We spontaneously decided to visit Block House and were extremely happy with this decision. The service was great and so was the food. We asked several times whether everything was OK, not intrusively but politely. A clear recommendation.

The staff was very attentive and absolutely friendly. There wasn't a long wait for the food and the drinks arrived very quickly. The food was very good and the meat was perfect. The side dishes were a bit clear for my taste but still within reason. Prices are reasonable.

Don't expect any highlights. Food is good, even the soup is served hot. Part of the food is heated, other part freshly prepared.

I have to digress a bit: my parents met in Hamburg. So you know Blockhaus. My father invited me here in Kiel. That was really great. Today I invited my sister and my godchild here for dinner in the afternoon because I wanted to treat the two of them and myself to something other than some stupid fast food. Everything's okay, let's come and sit down. We order something for children for the little one and for both of us beef fillet 200g for (€33 each without side dishes) with fries (extra costs) medium rare The meat comes raw, smells bad and tastes metallic. First of all, you might think you have to come in there or whatever. The meat was so inedible that we had to leave it behind (pressed) after half of it - €30 You should let that melt in your mouth......... I'm leaving out side dishes here. We then expressed our opinion and showed the meat, whereupon we were told that we could be offered dessert or coffee. We accepted that. That was fine. I pay for my meal - who am I? So I left €90. The food for the little one was great. I won't go here again Even if my dad invites me I feel like a piece... This was all SO unpleasant for me... I stand for that with my name

When I see a Block house, I have to go in and eat! Tried it in Berlin and Lübeck, now here in Kiel! And it better not disappoint at all, you get the most delicious t-bone steak! In good quality. Their baked potatoes are so perfect every time! Always worth a visit! Keep up the high standards!

Great food, nice service and great ambience.

We where robbed by the waitress. Steaks where reasonable, but service was bad. We goto now forks, i had to order a glass of whine three times and got it while my diner was finished. The male waiter was rude when we asked to pay. The waitress said the tip was not included in the bill. We said we did not want to give a tip, but pay the amount in the bill. She sneaky added a 10% tip (9 euro’s) and did not show the amount by turning the paying machine away from us. It was not until we were home when we found out she tricked us.

When the opportunity arises, we often go to Block House Wille Str. The food and service couldn't be better, until the next Bon Appetit 😋😋😋😘😘😘💪💪💪

Beste Steaks überhaupt in Kiel. Hatten das Rinderfilet einfach super zart und perfekt auf den punkt gegrillt. Wir kommen wieder.

We had a great evening at the Blockhaus in Kiel. The service staff (Madeleine, Marianne O. Ä) were so attentive, funny and friendly!!! We were totally thrilled. The food was also very, very tasty! :-)

We had the pleasure of enjoying a 180g filet mignon at Block House and it was an excellent choice. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy – ​​simply perfect. We were really impressed by the quality. The service was excellent. Our waitress was extremely friendly and cheerful, which made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. All in all, a wonderful dining experience. We'd love to come back!

Systemgastro, the potato gratin as a side dish to the steak is a joke. Meat quality average. Service, especially Susann, was very friendly. Unfortunately, the operations manager, Mr. Finn Niclas Becker, was all the more unfriendly. Please be careful with dessert, the Belgian waffles are Liège waffles warmed up in the microwave. Don't let them fool you. Ordered two simple espressos, received single ones, but booked them as double espressos on the bill. When I asked why double espressos were noted on the bill, the answer was that double ones were also served. No, definitely not. Even a non-coffee drinker would have recognized the difference in quantity. The evening there was a failure anyway, so we didn't feel like arguing over two coffees and went out. All in all: there are certainly nicer restaurants in Kiel.

I recently visited the Block House and was very disappointed with my experience. The service was extremely unfriendly, which ruined the entire evening. The salad that I ordered for a whopping €14.50 was far too small and actually only consisted of iceberg lettuce. When I complained about it, I was simply told that the salad was so normal, without any accommodation or understanding. For me this is pure rip off! In general it is also very loud and dark in the restaurant. Things got even worse when I saw that the food was coming into the kitchen in plastic bags. It was clearly ready-made food, which is absolutely unacceptable in a restaurant of this price range. Overall, the prices are far too high for the quality offered. I definitely won't be back and I absolutely can't recommend this restaurant.

I am deeply disappointed with my recent visit to the Block House. The price for a Caesars salad is an absolute disgrace. I was offered chicken as if it was a special extra, and then you only get three tiny pieces of bad chicken and pay almost twice as much - €15 instead of €8. That's a disgrace. My family's food was also disappointing, especially the chicken legs, which were way too fatty and made one of them sick. In addition, the waiters reacted extremely unfriendly and uncomprehending to my complaints. Their handling of the situation was unacceptable and made our experience even worse. I will avoid this restaurant in the future and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Update: Lunch today with a larger group, again top service, super friendly, delicious food. Highly recommended! Lunch or “lunch time” in the Kiel Blockhouse. Very friendly welcome and service. Pleasant atmosphere and very tasty food. It is generally recommended to reserve a table, especially on days with special offers.

And just then...I actually expected something better...It looked so terrible on the plate that we didn't even take a photo... We had a unique evening and not just because of the food but especially because of the exceptional service. We will have extremely positive memories of this for a long time. The steaks were perfect.

We didn't have a reservation but managed to get a spot due to the early time. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was nicely presented, but didn't have the wow factor we expected. The sour cream on the baked potato wasn't that tasty. But that might just be a matter of taste. The steak was overly peppered. But it was fried to perfection as requested!

Dejlig udendørsfaciliteter. Virkelig fint sted. Maden var af superkvalitet, virkelig velsmagende, lækker og perfekt stegt kød. Vi fik henholdsvis avocadotatar og carpaccio til forret. Hovedret var lam m/kartoffelgratin og flødestuvet spinat samt Huftsteak. Kød var noget af det lækreste længe. Meget personale, og så fint sted. Ikke et biligt sted, men absolut pengene værd.

This place is perfect for a delicious steak or other American-inspired specialties. I like to write reviews a few weeks later to see what important things remain. The friendly service, the delicious food and the interesting salad bar are particularly memorable. The service was courteous, friendly and always there when we needed something. This is exactly how you imagine good service. The food was great. We chose the hamburger, i.e. the minced steak, and salad and were not disappointed. The quantity was good to very good and it tasted excellent. It was interesting that there was a typical American salad bar in the entrance area, but this was only used by the waiter. Well, it doesn't matter - at least you could marvel at what was on offer at the beginning. We enjoyed the stay and the food.

Restaurant super full, waiters at their limit (but still attentive and friendly), sauces only came after the meal. Payment is only possible after multiple requests. Portions (skirt steak) are becoming smaller and smaller (coleslaw salad size is one tablespoon full) and prices for standard steaks have been raised again. Block House has always been an institution for me for 20 years, but not a good development from my point of view.

Unfortunately, my fillet steak was a little overdone. Medium, yes, but close to the limit. Tastes very good! The gratin also tastes good, but the potatoes could be firmer. The boneless chicken leg was also very good, but the owner could have made it crispier. The baked potato was very good, plus the extra portion of sour cream! We were served very quickly and friendly. Jeanette was always there and regularly asked if everything was okay. Drinks and food came quickly. Unfortunately one starter came a little quicker than the other, so we ate it afterwards. Wasn't wild for us since she apologized for it and everything else outweighed it. Personally, I don't think it's good if there is a Mrs Rump steak with 180 g and a Mr Rump steak with 250 g. As a woman, you might think about whether it is even appropriate to have the large steak...

Comfortable area with outdoor seating. May not be a surprise but this is not a vegan friendly restaurant. However, you can expect to find high quality service and sweet strawberries to pair with smooth wine which all contributes to a lovely stop.

Great restaurant in Kiel! We weren't disappointed again. Very tasty, generous portions and great service. The meat was very well fried (medium), the dishes were top notch. The Block House has homemade sauces! Delicious. Not difficult to find, in the middle of Kiel (near the town hall).

The food is nothing special. It's system catering and the price/performance ratio didn't suit me. Just way too expensive. Sure, good meat costs a lot of money, but the little meat on the plate was disappointing. I won't go there anymore. The only good thing was the service. Very attentive and friendly. 👍

The waitress wanted to come across as funny, cool, young at heart and relaxed. Unfortunately, this led to some embarrassing and very invasive situations, which the waitress in question didn't notice. She was completely confident in herself. Example: she brought the menu for dessert when I was getting up to go to the bathroom. Then she loudly said: "...but you're hurrying up, aren't you?!" I thought I wasn't hearing properly and our guests at the table and at the next table (!) all looked irritated too! Luckily I didn't speak up and countered with "I don't know why I should hurry" and continued on my way. She also called us by first name and sounded like Everybody's Darling. This woman was just embarrassing and distant.
