You were very nice. We were able to eat well here and take a short, pleasant break in the middle of our trip. Of course, the food was delicious too. Thank you very much for that. I'll definitely be back.

A rich buffet... it changes a lot, especially in the evenings. Unfortunately, it's always the same in the morning. My tip: Kaiserschmarren! 🙂

Catastrophe...still no response from hotel management. How sad when these people don't even keep their word. Sad and shameful. We didn't like anything about this stay. Hard-heartedness is the order of the day here. The behavior of the management is sad and as a manager I would be deeply ashamed if I treated a guest like that. It's all just an illusion. The warmth was feigned and the friendliness disappeared the moment we turned to management for help. We arrived on Friday evening, June 7, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m. and were still received warmly at that time. We had already paid in advance and were looking forward to a wonderful short vacation. On June 8, 2025, our daughter called us early in the morning and told us that our dogs were vomiting foam. My wife is a veterinarian and asked about other symptoms and ultimately determined via remote diagnosis that it was only severe poisoning. She immediately called a colleague and sent her to our house to provide emergency treatment for both dogs and to transport them to an appropriate clinic. About 15 minutes later, we received a call informing us that our smallest dog hadn't made it. Our little Anni bled to death internally within a very short time. We were both devastated and left before breakfast. I asked the receptionist how we should handle the reservation I had already paid for. I was told that one night's stay would be credited, and the remainder would be refunded after consultation with management. I would be informed promptly. After about a week, I still hadn't received any information from management, so I inquired accordingly. I was told that there would be no credit or any accommodating treatment for the booking. I was told that this would not be possible if the booking was made through booking.com. We rent out a holiday home ourselves and know that it is entirely possible to process a refund through Booking.com. This is precisely where the difference lies: humanity, understanding, and warmth have no place at the Werdenfelserei. Hard-heartedness is a major concern here. At the end of the day, it's all about profit. Even when fate strikes so hard and a family member is taken from us, you can't expect any understanding or accommodating treatment of a booking at this hotel. On the contrary, they profit from people mourning the loss of a beloved pet. It's sad, and as management, I would be profoundly ashamed if I were to treat a guest like that.
