I don't know what to say... in truth, you have to stay there to truly appreciate this place. The Boutiquehotel Werdenfelserei is a complete experience. The breakfast is simply indescribable, with an immense variety of regional items, jams, cakes, and so many other delicious options. In fact, breakfast in Germany is truly unparalleled. The rooms are super comfortable, impeccable in every detail, and the staff service is flawless—attentive, kind, and always available. And what about the sauna and the heated pool with the Alps in front? A true living painting, impossible to describe in words. In short, I can only recommend the hotel! A memorable stay in every sense.

We checked in here for two days. The hotel is very beautiful, with lots of wood and natural materials; it's been furnished with care and attention to detail. I'd especially like to highlight the breakfast (I have high standards, having stayed at the Adlon in Berlin). The hotel is right next to the spa park, which you can reach from the terrace. The wellness area with its relaxation rooms is spacious, and the pool with its view of the Zugspitze is fantastic. The Christmas market is currently taking place right next to the hotel in the spa park. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

This was my second stay at the Werdenfelserei – great rooms, excellent location, free underground parking, free spa access until 2:30 pm on the day of departure, and above all, the food was superb (and very generous portions, almost too big!), good cocktails, and a nice selection of non-alcoholic drinks, including wine and sparkling wine. The value for money is excellent! The garden studios are thoughtfully furnished and well laid out; the smell of the wood is wonderful, as is the view! You can hear the street with the window open – I've always stayed here in winter and therefore kept the windows closed at night. The reception staff is a mixed bag – there were many very capable and friendly women, but also one man who seemed somewhat overwhelmed (perhaps linguistically?). The reception in February, with a different staff, was also a bit bumpy. Unfortunately, there's a lack of space – the walkways to the restaurant/breakfast buffet are a bit too narrow, and people are constantly getting in the way. It's even worse in the spa area. It was very crowded every day. Sometimes there are no free loungers, and sometimes it's simply very noisy due to the constant coming and going (searching for a spot or going to the sauna), loud door closings, voices from the hallway or the (small) pool, creaking footsteps on the gallery (another lounger area), and footsteps going up and down the stairs. Unfortunately, the abundance of wood, the stunning view, and the relaxing music can't compensate for this. The steam room wasn't really warm on any of our visits (perhaps a problem with the door or glass?); unfortunately, it smells musty (instead of, for example, a "forest" scent like eucalyptus or Swiss pine). Nevertheless, we would return and recommend the Werdenfelserei, though not primarily as a wellness hotel.

I often travel to Garmisch for work and finally treated myself to two nights at the Werdenfelserei. It was a truly wonderful stay. A very friendly check-in and lots of wood immediately create a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are incredibly cozy, again with lots of wood, a lovely bathroom, and a small sitting area. My room faced the street, but the windows are completely soundproof; you can't hear a thing, and the hotel is generally quiet. I slept incredibly well. The breakfast is high-quality, varied, and leaves nothing to be desired. A very pleasant extra was the small lunch buffet, which was included in my price. These lunch buffets were also of very good quality. I will definitely treat myself to this little luxury more often and will gladly book at the Werdenfelserei again.

We spent a great, long weekend here and it was really great. The Spa is really nice: the outdoor pool with great views, the Kaminraum is great to just chill and read for hours and there's a good selection of saunas. I particularly enjoyed the tea offerings The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a lot of good options and the lunch was also nice. The people at the reception were super helpful

From the outside, a very beautiful, authentic building – inside, unfortunately, far too much unnecessary frills… the spa area is very cramped and there are far too few spaces – the whole hotel feels like it's bursting at the seams; often less is more – there are definitely areas for improvement here… the food was imaginative, and the beds were very good.

At the Werdenfelserei, exclusivity and elegance meet family and warmth. We were able to completely relax and feel at ease from the very first minute. From the room to the spa to the food, it's a thoroughly successful concept, where you can feel the dedication and passion with which this hotel is run. We look forward to our next stay!

After a recent visit, I unfortunately have to revise my positive review: At first glance, the Werdenfelserei in Garmisch is indeed a fantastic hotel: The location is superb, close to the town center and offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The spa area is also impressive – stylish, modern, and very relaxing. The breakfast deserves special mention: plentiful, high-quality, and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the otherwise excellent overall impression is significantly marred by the staff. While the service seemed friendly at the beginning of our stay, their attentiveness diminished considerably. Over time, they appeared rather indifferent, at times even annoyed. This made us feel unwelcome and made us reconsider booking this hotel again. Another negative point: Our complaint about silverfish in the sink (on both days!) was completely ignored. For a hotel in this price range, this is clearly unacceptable. The cleanliness of the room also fell short of the standards one would expect at this price – the glasses and cups were not truly clean. All in all, a beautiful house with great potential, but it clearly needs to improve its service quality and cleanliness. Without improvements in these areas, unfortunately, I cannot give it my full recommendation.

Hey, hey, the Werdenfelserei is truly an absolutely dreamy wellness hotel. Everyone is so incredibly friendly, and everything about this hotel is anything but ordinary; everything you experience here has a special touch. The rooms are super cozy, the food is exceptional, made with love, and absolutely delicious. The spa area is divine, an oasis of relaxation. If you really want to pamper yourself, you absolutely must treat yourself to a Lomi Lomi massage with Evi – simply heavenly! Love, Sabine ❤️

We stayed two nights at the Werdenfelserei and felt very comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy, with a welcome glass of Prosecco in the lobby. The hotel is warmly and cozily furnished, dominated by wood and alpine charm. The staff were all very friendly. We had dinner at the Wurzelwerk restaurant. The food was excellent and offered very good value for money. We would suggest expanding the wine list to include wines from the "New World" or simply adding a few more robust wines overall. The red wines, in particular, were a bit too weak for our taste. But that's a matter of personal preference. Breakfast was also fantastic, with a very good selection! The spa and wellness area was also very nice, featuring a great outdoor pool, two saunas, and a steam room. The relaxation room offered a wonderful view of the surrounding nature and the Zugspitze mountain. Overall, we found the value for money to be very good. Unlike many other hotels of this type, you don't feel ripped off. They don't charge for every little thing. For example, a parking space in the underground garage is included, and the prices for drinks and food are reasonable, etc. We've had different experiences in Switzerland and South Tyrol. What bothered us: We didn't like the dogs in the hotel, especially in the breakfast room. If dogs are allowed in a hotel, perhaps they should be kept in a separate room, particularly during meals? On the first morning, a medium-sized dog with a lot of fur sat next to us. It shook itself several times, shedding quite a bit of fur, which then spread throughout the breakfast room. Not ideal for allergy sufferers. People taking photos and videos in the spa area or pool, or even talking on the phone while in the pool, were also a problem. This simply shouldn't be allowed in the spa area. The sauna area is for ages 16 and up. I would recommend the same for the pool. It's not suitable for small children anyway. During our stay, there were several small children present, and their shouting from the pool unfortunately carried into the relaxation room, which made it difficult to unwind. ... Unfortunately, our room faced partly the street with a view of the Zugspitze (which we had specifically requested) – however, we weren't aware that rooms with this view also have a correspondingly high level of street noise. We usually sleep with the window open, so that wasn't possible. As a result, the room was also incredibly hot. Next time, we would definitely book a room facing the park and forgo the view.

Werdenfelserei exceeded our every expectation. It really does manage to strike the right balance in offering a polished, spa-centred stay for couples and families alike. We stayed in a spa suite for four days and wished we had planned for a full week. From the moment we found our parking space reserved for us on arrival, to being greeted with treats and bubbly, to the bottle of wine and send off bag, we felt totally looked after. Breakfast is a wide spread of cheeses, meats, cured and smoked fish, veggies and fruits, yogurt and jams, pastries and breads galore. The “light” lunch is an array of salads, soups and a warm entree. Dinner is bright and sensual with all sorts of local flavour and colour. The spa experience is well-designed and does the trick - gorgeous outdoor pool for soaking and taking in the alpine views, a round of sauna and steam rooms, and a warm, quiet lounge area which we referred to as the Nap Room. Finally, the location is perfect for exploring both the town and the absolutely top notch hiking nearby. This was the autumnal holiday we were dreaming of. Highly recommend the spa suite for a splurge. Can’t wait to come back - for skiing next time!

A first-class hotel where dogs are also welcome. Excellent service, spacious and clean rooms, direct access to the spa gardens. A generous breakfast buffet and a large outdoor terrace.

I didn't find the staff in the restaurant particularly friendly. We had a reservation for 8 p.m. We arrived at 8:30 p.m., but I had called ahead. I had also mentioned in advance that I wanted a particularly nice table. There were two tables right at the front, toward the window. We asked if it was possible to have one of the two tables. The answer was "no, absolutely not, everything is reserved." The two tables remained free the entire evening. I wanted to let them know before ordering that I had a voucher and how it worked. The same waiter again said, "Yeah, yeah, we'll sort it out." Our cellar was fine. He did tell me once that the side dish was included, but then I forgot, and when I ordered, I wasn't told again. In the end, I lost it and ordered myself. At breakfast, the blackboard with the Sunday specials was all over the floor. But no waiter pointed out to us that we should order directly from them. At this level (including the prices), you expect better service. Best regards

This hotel was fabulous. It was a very pleasant surprise. The food was amazing and the spa experience was too. I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had and left feeling relaxed and recharged. Cannot recommend enough. Will be back.

We were there again for the fireworks menu, and it couldn't have been better. Service, ambiance, food, and even the consideration for special requests were top-notch in every respect! We'd love to go back!

We would like to give 6 out of 5 stars...we had a wonderful time in Garmisch, and our stay at the Werdenfelserei contributed to that. It's a fantastic hotel that has everything you could wish for on vacation. The wellness area, especially the pool with its magnificent view of the mountains, the cozy relaxation areas, and the wellness offerings were all excellent. The day started well with a rich and appetizing breakfast. The evenings at the bar were enchanting. The bartenders, especially Simon, were very attentive. The hotel room was superb and comfortable. We felt completely at home. The hotel's peaceful and relaxing atmosphere was striking. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the hotel staff who made us feel so comfortable. Breakfast, food, and cleanliness in all areas—everything was perfect. We would love to come back. All the best!

We spent wonderful and relaxing days at the hotel. Despite its proximity to the city center, it is very quiet, especially at night. The food (both breakfast and dinner) is very good, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is definitely worth the price.

Fantastically maintained, charming hotel. On the 3rd floor, there's a small but lovely heated outdoor pool with a fantastic view. Something you don't have on the lower floors. The apartment on the 3rd floor is exceptionally well-maintained and complete. Clean and fully equipped. But... unfortunately, no view. You're supposed to look out onto the park, but you can't see it because of shrubs and trees right in front of the balcony. The park and mountains are not visible. The separation between the bedroom and the bathroom is a thin curtain. I don't like sleeping in the bathroom/prefer a closed bathroom. But that's a personal preference. The cuisine is excellent, especially regarding the very extensive breakfast. Lunch and dinner are fine, but less original. The dining room is cluttered and not intimate. The staff during dinner is not as friendly as our other experiences at this hotel. If you choose a 3-course menu, you are required to choose dessert before you finish eating. They strictly adhere to this. This is really not suitable for guests staying for a week for €600 per night! The location in GP... A bit cluttered. Especially from the dining room, you have a view of shrubbery. Excellent parking garage underneath the hotel.

The hotel is nice. But be careful if you get a room overlooking the street. You won't be able to enjoy the car noise from the balcony. I closed the balcony because of the noise. The room became hot and I discovered that the air conditioner wasn't working. I called them and they came and couldn't turn it on. They brought me fans, and I was tired and wanted to sleep, otherwise I wouldn't have accepted this solution.

We had a wonderful day spa experience here. Advance reservations were easy, and treatments were also easily booked. The wellness area was impressive. Everything was inviting. I booked an aromatherapy massage; it was the best I've ever had! My partner made extensive use of the sauna and loved it. The outdoor pool on the roof was heated and offered a magnificent view. Unfortunately, I have to criticize the food. Drinks... except for the tap water 😞, were subject to a charge. I've seen this differently at other hotels, especially at that price. The afternoon food selection was also very limited; we even had to pay for our own coffee. So, thumbs up for wellness, relaxation, and the wonderful pool with a view! The staff was friendly and accommodating! Otherwise... for the money, you should really consider it. It's better to pack a thirst quencher and some snacks.

Fabulous hotel in Southern Germany, the Alpine area in Garmisch, DE. Very "Alpine-like" architecture, made of wood, and beautiful. Very rustic area, heavy forest, rainy ... all the food at the restaurant was amazing, local German Alpine area cuisine. Service first class, rooms super comfy. Would definitely go back, and likely will when traveling to that area! Highly recommend Werdenfelserei!

Catastrophe...still no response from hotel management. How sad when these people don't even keep their word. Sad and shameful. We didn't like anything about this stay. Hard-heartedness is the order of the day here. The behavior of the management is sad and as a manager I would be deeply ashamed if I treated a guest like that. It's all just an illusion. The warmth was feigned and the friendliness disappeared the moment we turned to management for help. We arrived on Friday evening, June 7, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m. and were still received warmly at that time. We had already paid in advance and were looking forward to a wonderful short vacation. On June 8, 2025, our daughter called us early in the morning and told us that our dogs were vomiting foam. My wife is a veterinarian and asked about other symptoms and ultimately determined via remote diagnosis that it was only severe poisoning. She immediately called a colleague and sent her to our house to provide emergency treatment for both dogs and to take them to an appropriate clinic. About 15 minutes later, we received a call informing us that our smallest dog hadn't made it. Our little Anni bled to death internally within a very short time. We were both devastated and left before breakfast. I asked the receptionist how we should handle the reservation I had already paid for. I was told that one night's stay would be credited, and the remainder would be refunded after consultation with management. I would be informed promptly. After about a week, I still hadn't received any information from management, so I inquired accordingly. I was told that there would be no credit or any accommodating treatment for the booking. I was told that this would not be possible if the booking was made through booking.com. We rent out a holiday home ourselves and know that it is entirely possible to process a refund through Booking.com. This is precisely where the difference lies: humanity, understanding, and warmth have no place at the Werdenfelserei. Hard-heartedness is a major concern here. At the end of the day, it's all about profit. Even when fate strikes so hard and a family member is taken from us, you can't expect any understanding or accommodating treatment of a booking at this hotel. On the contrary, they profit from people mourning the loss of a beloved pet. It's sad, and as management, I would be profoundly ashamed if I were to treat a guest like that.

We had an all-around fantastic stay at this wellness hotel. The excellent breakfast, with its wide selection and high quality, deserves special mention. The wellness area with its mountain views was simply stunning and provided perfect relaxation. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, making us feel immediately welcome. Our room was a very good size, modernly furnished, and offered every comfort you could wish for. The bike rental also worked smoothly, which we greatly appreciated for our excursions in the surrounding area. The location is also unbeatable – just a few minutes from the center. We can wholeheartedly recommend the hotel and would love to come back!

A hotel with great attention to detail. The only thing that matters here is that you feel at home. I fell in love with the hotel immediately.

I wish I could add an additional star to Hotel Werdenfelserei, as it truly deserves it. The room (it was a suite) was impeccable in every respect: the bed and the mattress, the linings, the shower, the decor, the balcony overlooking a park across the stream, room cleanliness, coffee - everything was next to perfect. The breakfast is an experience by itself. It's much easier to spell what wasn't there - nothing. The variety of food, the quality, the service, 2 juice machines, 3 coffee machines, selection of breads and so on. The food is with a local swing, of course. Yet somehow it fits various tastes and breakfast habits. I admit: one day we intentionally got up a bit earlier to enjoy the breakfast to its fullest. Excellent experience! And having a very good Wurzelwerk restaurant on site adds to the experience (a separate well-deserved review). After talking with Monica, the hotel's owner, we better understood the spirit and the emphasis on a team work, which always start from the leader! The location is very good, the parking is convenient, the roof pool is quite, the SPA is spacious and will equipped. The only suggestion I have is about the SPA. We wanted to have a massage one day and it was impossible to find somebody who manages the schedule. We moved between the hotel reception (not much help) and the spa reception (nobody was there) and eventually gave up. Boutiquehotel Werdenfelserei pays back an excellent value for your money. Highly recommend!

On our way home from Italy, we treated ourselves to a night in this beautiful hotel, which was absolutely perfect in every way. We've known the Werdenfelserei for a while, having visited for coffee, an aperitif, or a bite to eat, but this was our first time staying there and we were thrilled with everything. The interior, the mattresses, the entire sustainability concept, the smell, the spa area. Everything feels inviting and harmonious. The breakfast was a dream and left nothing to be desired. We will definitely be back!

An absolute dream, the rooms, the spa, the food (even for vegetarian and vegan diets) the staff. We just spent the week end there and could not be happier about our stay. I usually do not go to hotel cause you rarely get the value for your money. This one proved me wrong!

Simply thrilled, such a beautiful hotel... you feel at home, the staff are extremely friendly and they try to ensure that every guest has a pleasant stay. The rooms are very clean and beautiful. The breakfast and all types of food are simply fantastic. Everything is beautifully presented and really very clean everywhere, every corner, everything was perfect. The pool on the roof is simply beautiful, overall we really liked this hotel and we would love to come back. Also worth mentioning is the fresh bread and rolls - the Kaiserschmarrn, every pastry and everything else too, good quality every day/morning, everything well sorted and very tasty. You feel welcome and you can really relax. The surrounding area is also worth exploring and it is not far to the Zugspitze. Wonderfully beautiful, please stay like this, we really had a great time and we will come again.

Lovely, smaller hotel close to restaurants and bars in Garmisch-Partenkirchen city. The hotel has own parking in the basement, guaranteed if you book a suite. Book on the hotels own site. We booked from Sunday and got an early-arrival brunch included (remember to ask for the served dished complimenting the buffet on Sunday!) as well as a full-body massage. Superb breakfast buffet with lots of options. Many juice options as well as a make-your-own juice buffet. Egg station with omelet, fried eggs, scrambled etc. Many cold cuts, cheeses, and local specialities. Varied bread options and some deserts as well. Breakfast and lunch resturant offers outdoor as well as indoor seating. The suites 3xx is located just by the spa on the 3rd floor with easy access to the spa. Sadly, the spa is closing at 20.00 but still lots of time to enjoy the pool, outdoor sundeck, many sofas, two saunas and a steam bath. If you are not familiar with German spa etiquette, remember that they are textile-free (no bathing suits - just use towels). The Fire-suite offered a great terrasse, large double bed, seating area and small, included mini-bar with a few drinks (filled daily) as well as an extra room with 3/4 bed for 1 or 2 kids or an adult. Visitd in July 2025.

It was an absolute pleasure for us to be guests at the wonderful Werdenfelserei again from June 21st to June 28th, 2025! As a couple with our 9-month-old baby, we felt completely at home and secure for the second time. What can we say? The service was simply outstanding! Every single member of the team was incredibly courteous, helpful, and always had a smile on their face. You can tell the warmth that goes into their work here, and that's so comforting, especially with a small child. A huge thank you to the entire staff. You make all the difference! The hotel itself is a dream: modern and stylish, but at the same time so cozy that you immediately feel at home. And the location is simply unbeatable! Right next to the picturesque park with its gently flowing river, it was perfect for relaxing strollers and created a wonderfully peaceful and idyllic atmosphere. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and were able to fully enjoy our time as a small family. It's truly impressive how the Werdenfelserei continually outdoes itself. We're already eagerly anticipating our next visit, because one thing's for sure: We'll always be back!

This hotel is an absolute highlight. You feel at home from the very first moment. A place to relax and be. You're allowed to be yourself without being categorized. All the staff are super friendly without being intrusive. Florian at reception, in particular, anticipated our every need and was a real treat with his charming manner. You can feel the attention to detail and the magical quality of this hotel. The breakfast and the food in general are fantastic. It's hard to describe in words the soul-stirring feeling.

We had such a wonderful time at the Werdenfelserei – simply unforgettable! We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed our welcome drink on the beautiful terrace by the stream in the garden. We were also treated very kindly at dinner. My sister-in-law brought her 3-year-old son with her, who was also given a very warm welcome! We would go back anytime. The staff is also particularly friendly and helpful. And the breakfast buffet… simply amazing. I felt so comfortable. I'm already looking forward to my day spa with you in July!

The hotel meets the highest standards, is easily accessible, and has a large underground garage with ample parking. The rooms are very well-equipped and have comfortable balconies. The breakfast is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired. In addition, the staff, from the restaurant servers to the housekeeping staff, are always friendly, courteous, and reliable.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffet, nothing was left to be desired. The swimming pool is great, and I also really liked the fact that you can walk directly from the hotel to the park. Personally, I found the bed much too high and the armchair in the room uncomfortable. It's a very dog-friendly hotel.

Wow, what a hotel! Tasteful rooms, great spa, good food, excellent location, close to the train station and bus stop (no need for a car). Right next to the park. Amazing breakfast and a fantastic view from the spa area. What more could you want? The reception staff should be a bit better trained. Hiking trails and weather are a basic requirement for a hotel like this in the mountains. We'd love to come back!!

We were absolutely thrilled: The hotel has so much to offer, and the surroundings are simply stunning, with an adjacent park and access from the hotel (where you'll find a Kneipp pool!). The service was very attentive, child-friendly, and sensitively accommodated all our special requests. Our breakfast lady, Nurhana, especially made our stay more enjoyable every day – kudos to her!!! Our room was beautifully decorated with attention to detail! The food was simply fantastic – a huge selection, fresh, high-quality products, something for every taste! The only thing we had to wait quite a while for the fresh eggs was the omelet, which was too dry due to the way it was prepared (very flat, like a pancake), and the toppings weren't fried beforehand. Axel's massage was excellent and effective! The pool temperature was very pleasant at 34 degrees, and the view was absolutely stunning! Perfect hotel for a long weekend or when passing through. We'll be back!!!

A very nice hotel just a 5-minute walk from Garmisch's shopping street. It boasts a wonderful, natural design, comfortable rooms, and wood as the preferred building material throughout. The spa area invites you to linger with various saunas, very cozy relaxation areas, and a heated outdoor pool. Yoga and exercise classes are free. The bartenders know their business. There's a ski rental shop in the underground parking garage, and there's also a ski storage room.

We were truly very satisfied! The restaurant was also really good, and we all enjoyed the food. The wine selection is also good.

We were at the Werdenfelserei for a special occasion. We enjoyed the day spa with a massage. Great ambiance, perfect location, lovely and relaxing feeling. The massage was very good! In the evening, we enjoyed the 4-course menu. From the service to the food, everything was excellent! Our lactose intolerance was kindly accommodated 🙂 Which, unfortunately, isn't the case in many restaurants. Many thanks to the entire team. We'd love to come back!!!

We were here for Sunday brunch. The weather was so nice that we could sit outside, and we loved the ambiance and the decor. The brunch buffet left nothing to be desired. It truly had EVERYTHING your heart could desire. From fish to Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes) to hot dishes, everything was there. There was even a juice bar, as well as coffee machines with oat, cow's milk, and even lactose-free milk. They've truly thought of everything here! Highly recommended!

We booked a short break at the Werdenfelserei on a whim, and what can I say? It was wonderful, harmonious, and I can only recommend it! You arrive and immediately feel at home. From the wonderful ambiance and the very friendly service to the fantastic spa area with the warm rooftop pool. The extensive lunch and breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired, with something for everyone. You can also feel the attention to detail in every corner of the hotel. A hotel like no other. The rooms are very tastefully and simply furnished. You immediately feel at home. We particularly liked the spa area and the outstanding breakfast. I have never enjoyed such a balanced breakfast buffet in any hotel. There really is something for everyone, and allergy sufferers are also catered for. Truly top-notch. The spa area up on the roof is also an absolute dream, with a pool and a view of the mountains. You're sure to find a quiet corner to relax here. All in all, it's absolutely worth the price!

I was assured over the phone that it would be possible to have a quiet hen party there (without alcohol, etc.). So I set up a date with the group of 10 people, collected the money, and wanted to book. It wasn't on the website, and then over the phone, they changed their minds and said that hen parties weren't allowed after all. Very annoying for the planning and the unnecessary hassle I now have. A bit of a lack of goodwill, but okay... Perhaps better communication in the future would be nice. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the rooms or hygiene since we're not allowed to go there.

This hotel is simply perfect. The rooms are tastefully furnished, high-quality, and in keeping with the surroundings. The breakfast and lunch buffets are more varied and delicious than I've rarely experienced in a hotel. I didn't try the restaurant in the evening. The spa leaves nothing to be desired. The relaxation rooms and the large terrace with a view of the Zugspitze massif are particularly wonderful. Every single member of staff was friendly, polite, and professional. There is a wide and interesting selection of wellness treatments. I had two massages, both of which were excellent. I also participated in several sports classes, which are free for hotel guests and highly recommended. The surrounding area offers so many recreational opportunities that you could easily spend an entire week here. For example, I rented an e-bike from the hotel to ride to Lake Eibsee. Small requests and inquiries at reception were immediately fulfilled. I will definitely be back.

Actually, I don't really feel like joining in the praises of other reviewers :-). Everything has really been said... But hey, what must be said, must be said! We had a wonderful time at the Werdenfelserei. And we're actually still a little sad that we had to leave. For a full eight days, we were able to enjoy the excellent service (ALL staff were very friendly and accommodating), the great room with a view of the park and the mountains, the truly beautiful spa area (34-degree infinity pool with a view of the train-powered fire engine), and the more than delicious breakfast. You'd have to look very hard to find a point of criticism. On two evenings, the chronological order of the drinks and food serving was a bit odd. The presecco order took 15 minutes longer than the wine order, and my starter arrived before my wife had already finished her main course. Anyway, it happens. Ultimately, the food speaks for itself so much that any criticism would seem somewhat petty. And here's a tip for anyone interested: If you can, book at least 7 days. Because then you can expect some great extras. For example, a free so-called "hat meal." Something new for us as northern Germans. NO, you didn't have to wear a pointed hat to eat :-). Prepare to be surprised. We were surprised and were very impressed. Culinary but also entertainment-wise. Little spoiler: At the hat meal, you get several dips and sauces as a side dish, all homemade!! No frozen or convenience food or anything like that. And sorry, Mom, the homemade hollandaise sauce in the hotel was absolutely amazing. I hate to say it, but you've been dethroned ;-). And one more thing... YES, the hotel isn't exactly cheap. BUT, it's REALLY worth every euro. And when you consider that in other hotels, for example, you pay up to 17 euros per day to park your car, while the Werdenfelserei's garage is free, the total price is already somewhat put into perspective ;-). Oh nonsense, the price is actually relative in so many ways, there's no need to justify the room prices at all. We looked for accommodation for a long time and, in retrospect, are glad we didn't choose one of the other three options. The combination of cozy, rustic Bavarian style (without having to endure carpet in the rooms :-)), modern, the food, the location, the people, the spa area... The Werdenfelserei feels completely unrivaled in Garmisch, despite the large number of hotels. Dear Werdenfelserei, it was a celebration for us! We've only been back in Hamburg for a day and we're already suffering from withdrawal symptoms. What, no more Kaiserschmarrn in the morning from now on??? No more really crispy bacon, no more delicious almond spelt bread, no more green or orange smoothies, and no more cute mini meatloaf with sweet mustard? What a cheek! We'll be back and thank the entire team for their wonderful hospitality. Much love from Hamburg!

An absolute dream! I've rarely felt as comfortable as I did in this hotel. Attention to detail, fantastic service in all areas, excellent food, and a beautiful spa area. This hotel is worth every penny and truly exceptional. An absolute oasis of well-being!

We were very impressed; it was very quiet and not much going on. You can enjoy the peace and quiet there. Relax. It was beautiful.

We've been coming here for years but the service here too is lacking, except in the kitchen.

We were here over Easter for a short wellness stay and what can I say - it was fantastic! The hotel is a wonderful place to relax, the service in all areas is top notch and the restaurant is second to none. We were guests here every evening because we had two days of rain due to the weather and didn't want to go out to eat in the evening - hence a few pictures of our culinary experiences. We chose a different dish every evening and they were all very tasty. We would love to come back and are already looking forward to it 🥂

We booked the hotel for one night as a short wellness trip at the end of March. It was a dream. Check-in was super quick, easy and friendly. We then had to wait a bit until the rooms were ready, but the time passed quickly since we were from the "Marenn" (small lunch buffet) were well looked after. Then we spent a wonderful afternoon in the spa area with organic sauna, steam bath and pool. We didn't manage to use the infrared loungers and the other sauna, time for dinner :-). The relaxation area is very attractive with a log fire, calm music and a relaxed atmosphere. The service and food in the restaurant in the evening was also very, very nice and accommodating. Definitely highly recommended. Thank you for the great stay.

Arrive and be amazed. We haven't stayed at such a great hotel in a long time. Everything is just perfect here. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The breakfast is amazing, and the spa area is simply wow.

A really great upscale hotel. Certainly not cheap, but it also offers a lot. We have stayed in many hotels, including better ones, and you can say that the breakfast here was the best ever. The selection, freshness and regionality particularly stand out. You have the opportunity to squeeze fresh juices and white sausages are also on the menu. Dinner was good, but there is still potential in terms of service. We had to change places for safety reasons, which is completely understandable, which was a shame, I had to move my drinks and bottles back and forth on my own. Here, in a hotel in this price range, I would have expected that this would be regulated by the service. The sauna area is very comfortable. An outdoor sauna and a whirlpool would be great. If we want to treat ourselves to something again, we'll definitely come by again. Keep it up.

A beautifully designed hotel with great views, great rooms and very, very good cuisine. Unfortunately, and hence the deduction of stars, the staff was very condescending and not very service-oriented. Which is simply not allowed in this category of hotel and price range of our room.

After an exciting day on the Zugspitze, we were in the wonderful Werdenfelserei. As a hotelier myself, I was particularly interested in the concept of this boutique hotel. What can I say: Great - everything was really right for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Special mention should be made of the great breakfast experience and the unique service.

A great experience in a very accommodating, chic and cozy boutique hotel. Among other things, we went skiing in Garnisch. The hotel offers everything to enjoy and relax. We stayed at the Werdenfelserei in October. My wife had specialist medical treatment in Switzerland and our 3night stay was on our way home. We loved the hotel and our stay. The weather was 'cool' but good. The timber hotel in keeping with the location. There was plenty to do in Garmish and Zugspritze is a worthwhile trip not too far from the hotel via train. We ate at the hotel a lot, more than we usually do , I think because the food was good and the staff so great. Lunch was provided. The atmosphere is a cosy chalet vibe. 'Homey' casual. There is an adjoining park for walks. Town is a 5min walk. The pool on the rooftop relaxing. Overall a very relaxing stay. Thus is a great experience! Would we stay again .... absolutely YES !

This hotel truly means vacation, vacation for the soul and being free from worries. It offers a wonderful atmosphere that defines both the decor; but especially created by the friendly staff. We have been coming to Werdenfelserei as often as we can since 2020. All the staff seem incredibly friendly and live by this friendliness. Unfortunately, I can't name all the employees I spoke to and highlight them all because they are all totally welcoming in their own unique way. They manage to create an atmosphere like being in your own living room, so that coming on vacation always feels like coming home. But that's something; That I can't even describe, you have to experience it yourself. So let's get to the facts: The rooms are beautifully furnished and always clean. I'm a bit of a mimosa most of the time, but I really can't find anything to complain about here in terms of cleanliness. The breakfast buffet offers a large selection, even in my diet I unfortunately already eat 3000 calories there because everything is so delicious. Also very friendly for vegans. There is also a large selection of “snacks” for lunch, which will leave you more than satisfied. The restaurant is also incredibly delicious and vegan options are also offered here. The wellness options are wonderful. You can look out over the beautiful park in the sauna, in the steam bath or on infrared loungers. The relaxation area really invites you to fall asleep and my highlight is the pool. An outdoor pool with a view of the Zugspitze and an integrated lounger with whirlpool function are my personal highlight. The massages are also great. I had mine with Peter. All I can say is that afterwards I felt 10 years younger again, like 12... young and fresh 😁 From there you can start great hikes and the Eibsee is not far away by car. You can just go shopping in the city or hike into the mountains on the other side. The location is also great. Lest you think I was paid for this review; Because I've only been bragging about it with enthusiasm so far, there is only one small point that isn't perfect for me personally: There is an underground car park, but I personally find it quite narrow. Nevertheless, I always managed everything in one piece. However, the people here are so friendly that if I were to despair, I am sure that if I asked, I would get support here too. So far, solutions have always been found for everything and I have rarely experienced such an attentive hotel. Thank you very much for that and we'll be happy to come back again and again.

Top hotel in Garmisch, located directly on the Loisach and in the center of Garmisch. The hotel is modern and comfortably furnished. Rooms are spacious and super clean. The balcony at the back offers a beautiful view of the quiet spa gardens. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You can easily park your car in the hotel's own underground car park. My highlight was the spa area. Very clean, very cozy, lots of places to rest and a fantastic view of the Zugspitze. Very impressive. There is a large rooftop pool, a steam room and two saunas. A lot of wood was used in the spa area. And that from absolute professionals!! An absolute dream; these perfectly crafted details. Not cheap in terms of price, but just justified. Everything is great. Gladly again.

We stayed in this wonderful hotel for the second time over New Year's Eve. Everything is just right here. The location is perfect, the rooms and service leave nothing to be desired. The restaurant is great, we'll be back, next time in the summer.

Beautiful hotel. We were guests for a week and had our dog with us. We were greeted very friendly with a glass of champagne and a small snack. Our room was clean and had excellent toiletries for us. There was a comfortable bed, a bowl and a blanket for our dog. This made me happy because I had already been to other hotels in the same price range where dogs were allowed but there was no bed for them. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had everything your heart could desire. I looked forward to breakfast every day. The spa area is beautifully designed, we used it every day. A highlight in the evening was the “Hutessen”. We could grill our meat on a “hat” and were served various side dishes. It's a shame it's over again.

I have to share my story despite not being a guest at the hotel. My wife and I last month were doing a morning walk we saw the building we liked it and we went inside to have coffee and see the place in case we wanted to visit in the future. After the coffee we went back to where we were staying. I realized that I lost my wallet which had my ID two credit cards and around £800 worth of cash. I went back to the hotel lobby looking for the person who served us. Dorina came out running to me handing over my wallet with a if smile. I thanked her personally and I am sharing this story because she deserves all the recognition for being service oriented as well as ethical at the same time. My wife and I will go back to this place and will stay there indeed and it is because of Dorina. I attached her name tag as I took this photo so I recognize her to the public. Thank you to the hotel management and looking forward to my next visit to Garmisch.

We were super satisfied, very modern and cozy hotel, rooms were very nice, good beds. The breakfast and brunch buffet was outstanding. Delicious, regional dishes, oat milk coffee alternatives and also many vegan products. The spa area is a highlight and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We have nothing to complain about and would be happy to come back at any time.

The beautiful balcony offered serene views, and the bathroom was exceptional, featuring a shower, standing tub, and multiple sinks with ample counter space — blending luxury with practicality. The rooftop pool was absolutely stunning—a highlight of our stay—with breathtaking views and a peaceful ambiance. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of Garmisch. The cocktails were fantastic, and we loved unwinding with a drink after a day of exploring. The breakfast spread was *absolutely* incredible, offering a wide variety of high-quality options to start the day.

Really beautiful hotel with super service. Spent Christmas 2024 here and only regret was we didn't stay for New Year. Christmas Eve dinner was really special. All the staff were attentive from the reception, restaurant to the cleaning staff. The hotel is close to the town and local amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. The snow arrived just in time for Christmas and so we had a special view from our room.(See below)

We spent the Christmas holidays in the Werdenfelserei. What can I say, excellent service, fantastic food and a very nice atmosphere. The employees identify with “their house” and this is noticeable in many little things. We look forward to our next stay.

At the day spa on the weekend you pay €92. In return you get two saunas, a steam bath and a small outdoor pool. A fancy Marenn is served at lunchtime. This cannot be deselected either. Despite prior reservations, the spa area can get quite crowded on weekends.

I already booked a table for 6 people for December 24th in November. reserved at 12:30 p.m. Since this is a special day, I'll be there on December 21st. personally went by to confirm the reservation. On this occasion I also asked what was for dinner. It was confirmed to me here that there was both a small lunch buffet and a small lunch menu. On December 24th At 12:00 p.m. I received a call saying: Today there are only sausages and potato salad. That was decided a week ago. It is simply an outrage! On the day itself, just call 30 minutes before making the reservation and let them know. If it had already been known, they could have told me three days in advance on site. In this case I might have been able to find an alternative. But 30 minutes before!
