Even though they explained the concept, the long wait is annoying. After placing the order, I asked when it would be my turn and it turned out that you are randomly called by names (without numbers) listed at the top of the order form. The menus I chose for the meal (Istanbul... and Chicken...) contained too much garlic. Yes, maybe I'm fed up, but I think I'll try other methods next time. 😀

Frittenwerk is actually always recommended. The staff is nice. The dishes are prepared quickly and tasty. The prices are more in the upper segment.

It was too inconvenient for me to order at the terminal, but the staff helped me right away. They were friendly, the restaurant was clean, the food was delicious, and we didn't have to wait long for it.

It was a nice experience. We tried Germany's famous French fries. There are many options. The place is very clean and tidy. You can order either from the cash register or from the screen. Very filling and delicious.

Food is very greasy and quite ok. When we were there it was very quiet but the tables still had traces of previous guests. Personally, I didn't think it was that great. The conclusion can be made, but it doesn't have to be.

You wait forever for a few fries that aren't even good...

While I was waiting, I could have peeled and fried the potatoes myself at home. Half an hour for fast food….

Unfortunately the fries and other dishes were really bathed in fat. The food wasn't very tasty either. Shortly afterwards I had severe stomach pain and nausea.

Very small restaurant and because of the ordering machines everything is a bit tight when you want to get to your seat. Toilets were unkempt. Tip to owners: closed trash cans in the toilet. Tables weren't cleaned and there was something lying around everywhere from previous guests. Floor also quite grubby early Saturday evening. Food was quick and tasty. Portions decent. Many young people use this fast food joint. We were there because of the very hungry teenager.

I had dinner here with two friends. We ordered and one of my friends didn't get a receipt to receive her order. Then the names of the orders got wildly mixed up and I got the wrong menu. The toppings for our portions, for which we paid an extra €5 each, were partly missing or mixed up. One of my friends had a vegan alternative to sausage. However, this one was extremely nasty! And the garlic fries were unfortunately extremely soggy and tasted cheap. In conclusion I would say it is not worth the price. (a portion of currywurst: €15).

I think the service was pretty good I was very impressed with this meal. You really enjoyed the chili cheese and I found it really tasty. It only took about 2 minutes, which is what I expect from a good restaurant 10/10

A modern chip factory in Heidelberg. I can recommend fried falafel and Quebec poutine. If you're not hungry, there are also small snack menus.

One of the few restaurants that still had free seats when we visited Heidelberg. Unfortunately, the small shop was hopelessly overcrowded and the staff was a bit overwhelmed and therefore quite unfriendly. One of the three self-service terminals ran out of paper. In the half-hour or so we were there, it wasn't refilled; instead, people stood in line at the other two terminals and almost sat on your lap. The drink prices are outrageously high for a self-service restaurant. We will only do take away shopping here.

Food was absolutely delicious. It was clean, quiet, the staff were friendly. Only the falafels look a bit ugly. Just reminded me of dog food. But they taste good, don't let the appearance put you off.

A convenient and fun spot with lots of options. I came by myself while visiting Heidelberg as a tourist, but I can definitely see this being a place where I would regularly hang out with friends if I lived here. I got the chili cheese fries and some pistachio white chocolate churros. I’d personally like a bit spicier of a chili, but that’s probably my American palate talking. The churros were divine. The location is also perfect - right on a cute and bustling street that goes to the castle. A great place for a bite to eat, especially for tourists who need sustenance for a lot of walking!

Finally a curry sauce that doesn't give you heartburn! Fries were great and there was a lot to choose from. Unfortunately everything is very narrow and not very comfortable.

Waiting forever for a handful of fries with sauces. Plus a cola. For 2 portions 26€, but an eternal wait, self-service and clearing up yourself and the shop was full. I'd rather go to the extra sheet.

It's a shame, for €28 we could have gone out to eat in a restaurant. Then it's better to add another 10. Food completely overrated, the pulled pork lacks the bang, fries were just fries, I would have expected more. Service? All I saw were people preparing the food and then pushing it across the counter, mumbling.

Fries not cooked through, no seasoning, dirty floor, tables, chairs, employees playing with cell phones, the best thing is a deposit of 15 cents for drinks. Even though you eat in the store🤔 that was the first and last time you saw me inside. Just a rip off, too expensive😤

I actually really like Frittenwerk – the creative fries creations and the cool atmosphere are great. But the combination of piping hot curry sauce and cold sausage and fries really didn't convince me this time. This stark difference in temperature somehow ruined the food. It would really be better if everything was evenly warm. What I also noticed: the moss wall, which is otherwise a real eye-catcher, was damaged. It's a shame because it actually really adds to the mood. Still, overall it was okay, but there is more!

Every time I'm in Heidelberg I eat here and every time I've been impressed. The restaurant offers a great selection of fries and sides in a cozy atmosphere. The variety of products is impressive and the quality of the ingredients is excellent. The service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. Overall a great place for a tasty snack or a relaxed meal.

Poor hygiene standard Ordered a Montréal Style Poutine with garlic French fries for takeaway, was delicious. However, I found a long hair (which was definitely not mine) inside the cheese and gravy sauce which I think is unacceptable in gastronomy. Although the fries were tasty, hygiene should be above everything else. As this was a takeaway, I couldn’t complain on spot.

So I really expected more for the price. The fries are soggy and the employees are incomprehensible and the quality of the food isn't really good in terms of taste either. There were 4 of us there and no one was really at peace. The only positive aspect is that it looks very nice but nothing more!

Frittenwerk is a very good choice for a chip shop, but why I give it 3 stars is described below. Prices are OK because a normal fries costs €3.90 but with KETCHUP OR MAYONNAISE it costs €4.80. I think it's a bit expensive. And sometimes your fries need several 15 minutes to be ready. But when it comes to food, there isn't much to discuss - lots of delicious varieties. But as I said, the prices are not 100% correct for all dishes. Otherwise I would actually recommend it.

Leider nur Enttäuschung, trendig? nur weil schön dekoriert sind? nein. Wir haben tolle crosse Pommes erwartet, sollen hier der Renner sein leider am unsere Abend war nicht der Fall. Am Abend ist der Frittenwerk nicht zu empfehlen, dort gibt es nur kaltes Pommes, die waren labrig und nicht wie auf den Bilder zu sehen sind. Klar, man bekommt die schöne Schale aus Pappe aber das war. Wir haben mehrere Sachen bestellt: Poutine, Pulled Pork, Tijuana, mit mehrere soßen dazu. Der Verkäufer war sehr entusiast und wollte unbedingt die Soßen verkaufen: Mayo Vegan hat uns nicht geschmeckt, Knoblauch war angenehm aber die Avocado! lieber die Finger weglassen... 2 Sterne war die Bedienung -in seine halbe Sprache- (englisch könnte er ganz gut) nett war.

Frittenwerk Heidelberg has slowed down... once I was enthusiastic about crosse fries and sauces, now I'm completely disappointed. As a few others have already written here: the fries are soft, soggy (we ate there around 8 p.m. and they just tasted like fries from the evening) and the quality has deteriorated. The staff is nice, unfortunately they seem tired and don't want to just work there to earn some money? An expensive menu like fries with pulled pork... (over €10 just for fries! without a drink) only had a blob of meat and a lot of cabbage salad. Something that was annoying: Offers are printed in large size: e.g. (Summer special menu including drink mega discount) then only 0.50€ extract and that without a deposit? This is called a discount?... Information should be more transparent for customers. If it's all about cool food then Frittenwerk is unfortunately over for me.

Unfortunately very disappointing, the fries factory in Heidelberg gave us old and simply warmed fries instead of freshly fried ones :(

Frit work as you know and expect it. The food is always delicious and the selection is huge. The prices are of course pretty steep. But every now and then you can afford it.

There are flies everywhere, the employees are always busy on their cell phones, the store is very small, almost no good seating, tables and chairs are not cleaned!

Hello there The fries were very tasty and so was the curry sauce. But stay away from the currywurst. Pale and the taste is just an industrial product. I eat a lot of currywurst, that was nothing.

€18 two beers and some potatoes with salsa and jalapeños. Hot beers without a glass/glass (and small ones), French fries. They don't take care of you, you do everything yourself at a machine, you go to the bar to find it and then you collect it in the trash. Toilets with password and dirty. Before paying at the machine it still asks you for a tip, to serve you..! This site is a scam.

Fries were really good. I didn't think you could complain about currywurst either. Regarding the other comments: Of course you shouldn't expect a health fountain. But I don't eat fries to get fit either ;))

It was our first time at the chip factory. We liked the wide selection and the taste. What could be improved is what happens on the screen after the order is placed: I didn't realize that the first word on the receipt is called up for the order. Even though there wasn't much going on, the order took quite a long time. Even if the prices are quite high, we would come back.

I entered the restaurant with high expectations and left feeling nauseous. I ordered Ottowa style potatoes with geavy sauce and the salt was poison. I never recommend it, the prices are too expensive.

Disappointment about an unexpected offer The restaurant looked so inviting from the outside that we spontaneously went in. The interior was also very attractive, and I particularly liked the fact that you could order directly at the counter. However, I was disappointed to discover that the Chili Cheese was only offered in a vegan version - and in general the offering seemed to be heavily focused on vegan products. As much as I appreciate the ambience and the service, I think it would make sense to clearly communicate such information from the outside. Unfortunately, my visit ended with a certain degree of disappointment.

The workers are good but can't explain well at all. I got the pulled Pork it was an absolute joke of a food, terrible taste horrible texture and was for some reason slime. I even tried asking for some sauce and they charged me 1.20€ for it. Also the fries were not crunchy at all. I would recommend avoiding this place.

Fries were good, great selection, churros were also very tasty BUT (of course it's no one's fault) it was extremely full, there were long queues at the ordering terminals and we had to wait a correspondingly long time to eat. But it was worth it ;)

Very varied menus, the dishes are delicious.

Food was very tasty 😋 had the shawarma fries and avocado balls. It was a taste explosion of different flavors. Would go again. Portion also fills you up well. What was a shame was that the air conditioning didn't work inside and it was very warm inside while we waited for the food.

Large selection of fries variations. There were options to order both vegetarian and gluten-free. After inquiring about allergens, you could check either online or via a list on site. A negative point was that the rooms were not air-conditioned. It was very hot the day we were there and it was very uncomfortable to eat in the restaurant in the heat. There was an option to sit outside, but unfortunately everything was occupied.

I recently ate at the Frittenwerk and have to say that the taste was really convincing. The Istanbul Style fries – fries with chicken in a kebab flavor – were very tasty. Unfortunately the portion was shockingly small for the price of €13.95. For this price I would have expected much more, both in terms of quantity and value for money. For the same money you can enjoy a rich kebab plate or grilled dish at a Turkish restaurant. Overall, a disappointing impression remains, despite the good taste. It's a shame, there could have been more. #glutenfree

We were there for the first time today. Found it very tasty, fries in a completely different way. I especially think it's great that you can choose from the poutines whether you want normal fries, sweet potato fries or garlic fries. We had several people and all of them were delicious - however, as absolute garlic fans, we have to say that the garlic fries didn't taste like garlic enough to us (they smelled a lot like it! 😅). Ordering can be done either via the staff counter or via a terminal - there are three available. This is very simple and clear, so it's easy to get along with! Yes, the prices are impressive, we paid €29 for two poutines with a drink each, but let's be honest, you don't do it every day so it's okay. What we found very funny and great, there are no numbers in the orders but names - we were Elektra... a Batman came in front of us, Jim Knopf was also there. Just a great change from the usual numbers. So we give it a thumbs up and if we see a chip factory again, it's quite possible that we'll go there again.

The poutine portions are pretty small for the price. The women toilets are really dirty (not only from the day usage, but the walls are dirty and there is dirty on every surface, they just don't clean them)

Coming from a guy who is part Canadian (and typical tourist from America) this place is actually a hidden gem for a nice meal!!! Definitely try the bacon mayonnaise sauce It is wonderful.
