Fratellis Downtown in Frankfurt am Main

The food was excellent, and the host was very friendly. Highly recommended.

We came as a couple based on the reviews and its proximity to the hotel. Declaring Radeberger a local beer in Frankfurt, well, it's the same country. A 0.5L Coke Zero for €6.80 is acceptable, but not appropriate. We followed the recommendation for pizza, since everyone can eat pasta, and had certain expectations after that recommendation. Two pizzas arrived, some with generous toppings, and both were completely bland. Making the Tartufo and Parma pizzas completely tasteless is truly remarkable. The crust was crispy and thin, and the tomato sauce was 100% unseasoned. Neither of us has ever eaten a pizza with so little flavor; €14.50 and €18.00 were actually good prices. We both had a long journey to Frankfurt, were hungry, and finished our meals, but not because of the taste. When asked if everything was alright, I replied with "unfortunately, no," and received no response. All in all, I have to say I don't understand the negative reviews. 4.6 stars is a far cry from what I experienced. Perhaps you'll take this rating more seriously than my assessment on-site.

I ordered a pizza, but it came with a burned crust. Some of the burned part had been scraped off by hand, and another section was cut away with a knife. I ended up eating it without the crust. When I asked for the bill, the waitress brought the credit card machine instead. I told her I needed the bill, but she said the bill would come after I paid.

I've never been disappointed by the food and service. Both pizza and pasta were always delicious and obviously prepared with fresh ingredients. The staff are always attentive and prompt.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge worker at our hotel on a layover in Frankfurt. The food is amazing, service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Our server not only gave us samplers of drinks but also was very helpful in recommending dishes for us to try. Would definitely recommend for people looking for a great Italian spot.

We were passing through on our way north and stumbled upon this restaurant due to traffic. When we arrived, there was a table outside, which was quite surprising for a Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. Our food also arrived relatively quickly, almost too quickly. We had pasta and pizza, and we can't fault the taste. The staff was also very friendly.

Six of us wanted to end the evening at Fratellis Downtown as part of a professional celebration. Unfortunately, the end of the evening left a rather unpleasant aftertaste, as the service seemed unfriendly and annoyed. This is precisely why we decided not to leave a tip, which ultimately led to grumbling and arguments. Embarrassing.

We ate at Fratellis in Frankfurt Niederrad yesterday and experienced a very embarrassing and inappropriate situation. The waitress in charge did not treat us or other guests with the respect they deserved. Her manner was neither friendly nor professional. When we decided not to tip, based on her behavior and the consistently poor service, she became loud and confrontational. And she did this in front of all the other guests. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable and lacks any form of hospitality. A restaurant should be a place where you can look forward to good food and a pleasant atmosphere – not to potentially unpleasant encounters with the staff. Unfortunately, the opposite was the case here. We urge management to urgently intervene and take responsibility. Anyone who takes the restaurant industry seriously must also ensure that their employees are properly trained and act appropriately in their roles. We definitely won't be coming back; it's a shame about the potential of the place.

The food is okay, the service is bad. When I ordered the bill for 6 people, I paid almost 500 EUR and the waitress wanted a tip which is unusual in Germany. When I refused she insulted me and the other guests. We left immediately.

We went here because it was the only place open. Seems like more of a hangout spot than a place to go for an actual meal. We ordered a couple pasta dishes and they came out in a matter of minutes, which felt suspiciously quick and seems like they might have a lot of stuff pre-made and just heat it up. The staff was OK, but not the most welcoming people in the world.

Was directed to table, nice so far, then proceeded to wait fifteen minutes. No menu, no mention of any kind. Had to walk out to find another place able to actually service customers.

A delicious and atmospheric Italian restaurant

They have no idea about gluten-free dishes – I was sold supposedly gluten-free and cross-contamination-free pinsa, which ended up containing 6% wheat flour. And I explicitly stated several times that, with celiac disease, I really can't eat any gluten. In restaurants, you should know what you're offering.

We were with friends. We sat comfortably. But the steak we each ordered spoiled the mood and was terribly oversalted. It was sprinkled with coarse salt on top. The chef must have fallen in love.

We went for dinner, walked from the office as it was not that far and weather was great. Clearly a popular spot, was busy but I saw staff bringing out new tables and chairs to accommodate other customers. Food excellent.

The food and service is of Italian quality. Here they have a lot of feeling for the customer and knowledge of good food. We could sit outside on the terrace. Unfortunately, the area is mainly focused on offices and therefore less attractive to look at.

A two-hour wait for food is at least an hour and a half too long! The food was okay.

There were 20 of us there and we waited 2.5 hours. The bread was dry and tasted like it was yesterday's. The waitress told us they were out of bread. Our neighbor's table was then given fresh bread. Note: Large groups will be refused pizza or burger orders. So if you're expecting pizza and are coming with a large group, you might want to consider another restaurant.

Service was very bad, I just said I wanted a drink and didn't ask what exactly I wanted, and I got beer and had to take it, incomprehensible service and mentality.

Absolutely not recommended! The service is abysmal! Plates and drinks are simply slammed onto the table without asking who ordered them. You feel completely unwelcome! Never again at Fratellis!!!!!

Super delicious food and very friendly staff!

I've been here twice within two days and unfortunately I can't report anything good. On the first day, I had tagliatelle with salmon. First of all, it always takes quite a while for the food to arrive. I've eaten this dish many times in various restaurants. But here the pasta was quite dry, there was hardly any sauce on the pasta, and I had to search for the very few small pieces of salmon. I'm used to it differently. The worst, however, was a dead bluebottle that I found after I had emptied three-quarters of my plate. Unfortunately, there was no apology, other than the suggestion that I could have sent the plate back and asked for a new dish. How could I, when I only saw the dead insect on the floor? An apology with a small shot of schnapps for disinfection would have been appropriate. My companion had pasta with what was supposed to be beef fillet, which looked more like soup meat. The waitress didn't comment on this either. The next day, I had pizza, which looked good on top but was quite black underneath. I will avoid eating here in the future if possible.

I was there in the evening after a trade fair visit. The menu was small, but it sounded good. The slight pressure when choosing and eating was annoying. The food itself was average at best. The beef fillet was unseasoned, with no roasted flavor. The pasta was okay, but the sauce was boring. The panna cotta could have been a ready-made one from the supermarket. The farewell was really bad, when the boss obviously checked with his waiter with his thumb to see if I had paid. Somehow inappropriate for a restaurant that isn't even cheap. I wouldn't go there again.

If you are staying in one of the surrounding hotels, it is a great option for dinner. A nice atmosphere and delicious Italian delicacies. I especially recommend their pizzas and pistachio soufflé.

Ambience like the previous one before Corona. Lunch sounds better than it is served. Beef fillet strips fried too long, a bit hard and dry. Baked fish is not a nice piece in breading but individual, small, even dry pieces. If the service had been quicker, he could have sold a second glass of wine.

Overpriced. Almost €7 for a 0.5l cola. Pasta with pesto and burrata comes with half a burrata at almost 20€ price.

I was there by accident. It was the only restaurant near Motel One. I was even more surprised by the food. I thought it was Italian. Actually, you don't know what it is. The 350 gram entrecôte was excellent. Perfectly fried with potatoes and vegetables. Bernaise sauce was out, so I used mustard sauce. Much better than the Bernaise. Before that there is warm flatbread with this Spanish garlic sauce. I can't remember the name. Absolutely recommended.

Landed relatively late in Frankfurt only to find the bar and restaurant in the hotel closed (on a Saturday, shocking I know). Which turned out to be a godsend, as we stumbled about this wonderful Italian restaurant, which also happens to be named like my favourite band. Service, food and drinks outstanding. Spaghetti cacio e pepe, spicy salami penne, tiramisu, everything was perfect. Grazie mille ❣️

There were 17 of us, so we only got a small menu because "the kitchen wouldn't be able to do that otherwise." We were given 3 starter platters (not ordered), which later cost €16.25 per person. cost. So a total of €243. Or €81 per record - completely exaggerated, especially if you don't communicate this beforehand. The same thing happened with 8 water bottles that were left on the table without being asked and paid for later. Communication would have helped. When paying, I expressed my surprise, which resulted in loud, aggressive behavior from the waitress. Then I didn't get to say anything else. The customer is NOT king here, there is still a lot to learn. Never again!

I ate a pizza with pistachios. For 17 euros I found the price-performance ratio outrageous. We were there as a group. And were offered starters. Per guest for 16.25 outrageous. A record therefore costs 80 euros. BOTTOMLESS. As a group we only received a small card. I've never experienced this before: I can't get pizza in a pizzeria. I'm definitely not going there anymore. A colleague was even spoken to rudely. NOT RECOMMENDED

We were there as a group. Company event. A totally overpriced antipasti plate was served to you (a plate of antipasti was intended for 5 people, which you were only told afterwards. Price €16.25 per person😳). After complaining you were insulted, which would be a shame to condemn a high-quality Italian restaurant like that. Food was okay. Prices but overall not justified.

Incredibly rude, unfriendly staff.

Very tasty Pizza Diavolo. The topping was very tasty, but the absolute highlight was the base. I had never tried anything as crispy as a pizza base before. I'm looking forward to my next visit when I'm in the area again.

The restaurant is located in the industrial area and offers an outdoor terrace and indoor seating. Therefore, unfortunately, there is a slight deduction in the stars. What surprised me very positively was the "little greeting" from the kitchen, which included olives, delicious baguette and a dip, and this at lunchtime! The service was very courteous and friendly. Very easy to reach on foot from my motel!

The food was carelessly pushed onto the table. This is where quantity counts more than class. Fast processing with new guests constantly being accommodated in the hotels near the airport.

The food was mediocre - steaks and fish not good or not well fried, noodles had a boring taste. The service was either absent or, if there was, not friendly. Very tasty pizzas but the pasta is also excellent

Nach einer langen Wartezeit kam katastrophales Essen: Fisch versalzen und angegammelt, Gemüsebeilage auch angegammelt und Kartoffel fetttriefend.

The starter carpaccio was delicious, the main course “Tagliatelle with pine nuts and fresh (!) pesto” was unfortunately ready-made pasta (which is basically okay) with pesto from a jar! The employees even showed it to us, it tasted like Barilla Genovese, so really not spectacular…. A note when ordering would have been nice, or please change the text on the card, because you don't have to go to an "Italian" and pay €15 for that...what a shame!
