Fliegerklause Lützellinden in Gießen

Fries ok. Unfortunately no EC payment possible. In my opinion, the sign is not as obviously hanging as claimed. This ended in an unpleasant ending with driving around and getting money with tired children in our luggage. Alternatives such as Paypal or similar are not possible. The fact that you as a guest are then annoyed is perhaps understandable and, in my opinion, unnecessary in 2024.

You can eat there. It doesn't taste bad either. Unfortunately not the best price-performance ratio. My schnitzel for 15 euros was the size of a CD. I had to buy fries and salad separately. For our children (both under 2 years old) we asked what they offer for the very little ones. (We usually take pasta with tomato, spinach or cheese sauce, fish fingers, chicken nuggets or grilled or buttered vegetables.) The waitress pointed out to me that only fries were available for children, but they were very popular with the little ones. However, these fries later turned out to be very heavily salted (okay, I should have pointed out that small children don't tolerate a lot of salt) fried potato slices. Unfortunately, as soon as they were no longer boiling hot, they became very hard. No problem if you have good teeth as an adult. Our children (with their 6 baby teeth), on the other hand, tried, but couldn't chew them and were very desperate because they were hungry. Since my schnitzel was also very hard (they gave up after a few attempts at chewing), they could only eat mushrooms from my hunter's sauce and went home hungry. The ambience is ok, but some of it has come into the Jajre and is no longer so nice - you can tell that from the front door, which is definitely older than me. But people don't come because of the interior, but to see the planes. In short: In other restaurants in Giessen you eat better and for less money. If you have small children and want to eat here, you should bring something for them. And if we come back again, we will probably do so with a full stomach and look at the planes from outside. That's a shame, but obviously we're just not the target group here.

Yesterday we went to the Fliegerklause with friends, the food was delicious 😋 and the service was very friendly and attentive!!! We'll be back!!!!🫶

I don't understand why you have to serve the guest a burger with a rather tasteless industrial-shaped patty for €18.90 or why an original Wiener Schnitzel comes with a simple breadcrumb coating.

Great food, nice staff, but when the sun is shining the air inside is... At the end there was a schnapps from the boss himself. There was even an alcohol-free option for the driver.

The location of the restaurant is great, right at Lützellinden Airport you can watch the (hobby) flight operations when the weather is good. This is a real highlight, especially for children. For younger guests there is also a small playground with a climbing frame. Nothing particularly big, but the little ones still appreciate it. The food is mixed. The portions are generous for the prices quoted. Some dishes are great (e.g. fries, garlic sauce, burgers), others are unfortunately a letdown (spare ribs/“bones”, seasoned and salted way too much, and not tender either, just dry.)

I think the food here is delicious and when the weather is good you can sit outside and enjoy a beautiful view. You can also see the planes taking off and landing. You can also watch parachute jumpers.

The Fliegerklause restaurant is really an insider tip! The atmosphere on the terrace is simply fantastic - with a wonderful view of the airport. It's the perfect place to unwind and watch the planes fly by. The food is first class. The schnitzel and fries in particular are excellent and highly recommended. You can taste that the cooking here is done with love and skill. The staff is friendly, courteous and always brings a smile to the guests' faces with their humor. It feels like you're visiting good friends. I can only warmly recommend the Fliegerklause and am already looking forward to my next visit!

You can sit here on the terrace and relax, enjoy delicious food and drinks and watch the planes. Ideal with small children who can play in the fenced playground. The self-service area between kitchen opening times is also recommended.

Nice view of the landscape and the airfield. Very good food. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly. We always enjoy coming back.

We went there for dinner yesterday based on a recommendation. After reading the well-written menu, we initially hoped we had found a new place to stay. But as soon as we ate the starters we quickly checked the whole thing off. The main courses confirmed our decision. We have rarely been so disappointed. It was the worst barking shoe I've ever been given, and the bones were also sad. The kitchen should have more courage when it comes to seasoning and taste. The atmosphere due to the sports airfield is very nice, but it doesn't really do it either. The service should receive some training in dealing with complaints. But don't worry, we won't be coming to the Fliegerklause in Lützellinden anymore.

Have been here several times, even with friends, great outdoor terrace, very good service and always friendly, even when there's a lot going on - the menu is varied and there's something for everyone, I would say - the food is delicious anyway - we'll be happy again The temperatures rise and you can sit on the terrace again and enjoy.

The Fliegerklause offers a beautiful terrace, nice service, even if it sometimes takes a while, and reasonable prices. The food wasn't that convincing, I've had much better hand cheese in particular, and it's not particularly comfortable inside. Ultimately, I can recommend it because it's so nice to sit outside

We were there on a beautiful day and wanted to have a drink and something to eat on the terrace with our dog. Unfortunately the terrace was closed. The boss told us that dogs are not allowed inside. The boss also reacted very rudely to our suggestion that we sit outside and order food/drinks inside and pick them up. Okay, if dogs are not allowed, but a little friendliness also applies to guests who have a four-legged friend. We won't come back without a dog either.

Restaurant with great panoramic views. Service was friendly, prices were okay, home-made fries were great, burgers were delicious, only the meat was too firm and unfortunately tasted like a finished product. Something should be changed about that, then everything would be perfect.

The food was really delicious. Thanks to the service staff: you never had to wait long and there was always someone there to make sure everything was okay. In summer and without rain with a view of the airport it's probably even better if you can sit outside, but we chose April... I will come back 👍

Food was very tasty. Aviator fries TOP! Staff friendly. The furnishings are simple, but you have the airfield in front of the window. It wasn't our first time there and we will definitely come back.

The food was consistently great, including ice cream and espresso. The service was also very attentive and everything ran like clockwork. Highly recommended!

Very good and tasty food with really good service. We were able to enjoy the dishes with a view of the landing/runway of the airfield. Be sure to make a reservation on the weekends, others also know where you can eat well! We'll definitely be back.

The Fliegerklause is a very nice destination for hiking and cycling tours. We were a large group and were all very happy with our food. Courteous friendly service. The ambience/furnishings inside are rather simple. The terrace, the view of the runway and the wide view are very nice.

Alles soweit okay. Mehr aber nicht. Habe Burger gegessen. War gut, jedoch hatte ich schon bessere. Service noch das Beste.

Das Essen ist lecker, der Ausblick sensationell und das Personal auf Zack! Alle sind nett, zuvorkommend und der Chef kommt auch mal für ein Schwätzchen an den Tisch, genau so muss es sein. Ich komme gerne wieder!

Also gutes Essen aber die mitarbeiter und besonders der Chef ist unglaublich arrogant und unfreundlich.

Nettes Ambiente und für Kinder viel zu sehen, wie die Flugzeuge landen und abheben und wie die Gleitschirmspringer landen. Dass Essen ist auch zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Preise sind angemessen.

Im August waren wir das erste Mal 2022 in der Fliegerklause essen. Wir sind Gäste der ersten Stunde, waren früher regelmäßig in Linden, damals nach Mutter Schmidt und sind dann gefolgt nach Lützellinde. Meinen Schwiegereltern habe ich das Lokal angepriesen als beste deutsche Küche der Region. Beste Schnitzel, beste Steaks und richtig tollen Hausgemachten Krautsalat. Das Essen war bis zum besagten Augusttag immer gleich bleibend spitze. Die Schnitzel die sonst dick und saftig waren hatten Imbisswagen Niveau, total dünn und mehr Panade wie Fleisch. Das Rindersteak das sonst immer butterweich war und eine hervorragende Fleischqualität hatte, war sehr sehnig und irgendwie Überwürzt. Der Krautsalat hat nicht ansatzweise so geschmeckt wie früher, sehr salzig und nicht wie hausgemacht. (Eher wie aus dem Eimer und mit etwas Schmant oder saurer Sahne gestreckt) Vielleicht hatte die Küche einfach nur mal einen schlechten Tag, oder wurde vielleicht der Koch gewechselt, oder ein andere Fleischlieferant…? Wir werden trotzdem wiederkommen, und hoffen dass es eine Ausnahme war und ihr eurem Ruf wieder gerecht werdet, nämlich die beste deutsche Küche in der Region zu haben. Anmerkung noch zu eurem Service Team, das war wie gewohnt immer auf Zack und sehr freundlich. Bitte nicht falsch verstehen, aber positive sowie negative Kritik muss manchmal sein. Nur so kann man seinen Standard halten oder eventuell verbessern.

Da will man mal zu den „freien Tagen“ hin und dann sind ausgerechnet da Betriebsferien 😵. Unglücklich geschlossen zu haben wenn viele Leute Zeit haben.

Schönes Ambiente, man kann beim Essen das starten und landen der Flugzeuge beobachten sowie das landen der Falschirmspringer. Das Essen war auch sehr gut und von der Portion her mehr als ausreichend.

Ganz okay, aber nicht der Knaller. Das Essen ist ganz lecker, die Bedienung ehr träge und das Restaurant an sich war noch nie super schön, was aber leider am Besitzer und nicht am Pächter liegt. Der Ort und die Aussicht sind allerdings toll!

Wow also hier waren wir definitiv nicht das letzte Mal. Ich freue mich schon unseren Bekannten die Fliegerklause weiter zu empfehlen. Alles hat gepasst. Super leckeres Essen und die Bedienung war Top. Sehr sehr freundlich und man konnte an Hand Ihrers Verhaltens sehen das Sie mit spaß bei der Sache sind. Es gibt nichts negatives zu berichten.

Das Restaurant liegt am Flugplatz von Lützellinden. Die Anfahrt ist über Lützellinden oder Münchholzhausen möglich. Im Sommer gibt es eine sehr große Terrasse, von hier lassen sich die Flugzeuge und Fallschirmspringer beobachten. Für Radfahrer und Wanderer gibt es auch einen SB-Bereich. Die Küche ist gutbürgerlich. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die Schnitzel und die Knochen. Das Team und die Karte ist aus dem ehemaligen Restaurant "Mutter Schmidt" in Kleinlinden. Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich.
