Fischers Cafe-Bar-Restaurant in Leinfelden-Echterdingen

We went to Fischers for breakfast today, January 4th, 2026, and the entire room was cold and uncomfortable for sitting down to enjoy a birthday breakfast. After directly addressing this issue, as did guests at the next table, the only response was that they had been closed for a week and that the large windows didn't have blinds. (However, according to the internet, this isn't true, as they apparently reopened on January 2nd.) There was no offer of a complimentary hot tea or any other small gesture to show appreciation to the guests, which is what one would expect from good service. The only comment was, "We're cold too." As a result, guests simply stayed away, as this situation doesn't encourage repeat business! This has nothing to do with good service! There are countless ways to listen to guests (e.g., a hot drink, a blanket, or the outdoor heaters).

A very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Excellent value for money. Perfect and friendly staff. I'd gladly come back.

We were here again for breakfast today. A very good selection on the breakfast menu: porridge, fruit, yogurt, eggs and bacon... and, of course, rolls, cheese, sausage, jams, honey... tea, coffee... Everything you'd love for breakfast and more. Very friendly and attentive service. Reservations aren't necessary, but it also depends on the day of the week.

I haven't been there for at least two years. The ambiance hasn't changed; it's stayed the same. Which is fine. But the service has. We sat outside on the terrace. We sat outside for a long time, and there was a plague of wasps, so annoying. I ordered a chai latte, but unfortunately, it wasn't my cup of tea. Unfortunately, the worst chai latte tasted like tea, and €4.90 is a pretty steep price. The staff was very inattentive. The table was covered in wasps, which attracted more wasps. Only when I told them to wipe the table did the wasps disappear. The two women serving preferred to sit outside and smoke together, which was completely unprofessional, instead of even asking if we wanted another drink. We were then asked to move because a larger group was coming and needed that space. I couldn't understand why, as there were several empty tables. They could also be pushed together. We moved, which was fine for us, but the table was covered and sticky again, just like the other table before. I then told the waiter, who wiped the table. That's not my job (good staff notices this), and I had to ask twice for the table to be cleaned. We then ordered a salad with breaded chicken, which was also very good. Except the bread that came with it was very dry. Then, unfortunately, there was a hair baked into my last piece of meat, which was so disgusting because I'm very picky. I then told the waitress. She apologized, left, and came back and offered me a coffee or espresso as compensation, but I'd already lost it. We paid and left. Conclusion: Unfortunately, disappointing.

Finally, a restaurant where I, as someone with "exceptional mobility impairment," felt comfortable. Most of the restaurant is accessible. The staff were very friendly and helpful, for example, in finding a different seat than the one provided at the table. I can recommend the cappuccino and espresso. Good still water at a reasonable price. The breakfast was good, if you don't overdo it. (I'm very picky), but for my taste, the quality of the smoked ham and the sliced ​​cheese could have been better. Finally, don't forget a good iced coffee and a tip for the excellent staff, who were truly very accommodating. I hope for more pleasant stays.

Today, as we often do, we wanted to reserve a table in your café. Unfortunately, we were told by phone that everything was already fully booked - even the seats at the bar. However, since we have been here several times and have a good idea of ​​how busy it is, we decided to stop by anyway. And – unsurprisingly – half the café was empty. We are honestly disappointed that an employee is so carelessly prepared to send regular customers to the competition. It's a shame that an otherwise beautiful café loses its charm due to experiences like this. We very much hope that more emphasis will be placed on genuine service here in the future - because we actually enjoy coming.

Nice location with, depending on the season, nice outdoor tables. The rose breakfast with scrambled eggs for two people was great and is really recommended. Service very friendly and attentive. Price/performance is definitely very good. Gladly again. 👍

First the positives, ambience, service and also the breakfast are very good, although the price is a bit high in my opinion, but quality comes at a cost. Now to the negative, which is why I unfortunately won't be eating breakfast there anymore! Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, it's OK. Last Sunday a lady with a dog came in and was tolerated. When I asked why a dog would be here now even though it wasn't allowed, the BOSS replied because it suits him and he decided that way and left me sitting. He then probably noticed that we were discussing the situation, he came back to the table and wanted to explain himself somehow. If he had done it decently from the start and not so arrogantly, O.K. Despite all that, you either have rules or you don't!

Unfortunately I have to give fewer stars here. We have enjoyed coming here for years but what happened to us today is an outrage. We ordered breakfast according to the menu for €22.xx. We even talked about whether it was worth taking this one, as the individual menus were around €10. When paying, the lady wanted €25.90. When I asked about the price difference, they first said: ah yes, that's the scrambled eggs (we didn't have any), then that would be the price increase. That really doesn't work. Lost a customer here and will no longer recommend it. Edit: We complained locally. Other cards were brought with new prices. The problem was not solved. We had seen the price on the menu and had not “remembered” it from previous visits. The answer is therefore no help at all. The oversight would not have been a problem if it had been resolved. Instead we had to pay the new price even though we had ordered this menu under different conditions. After the annoying payment, the waitress then told us that new cards had been available “recently” and that perhaps we had an old one. impertinence. NEVER AGAIN

Update 11/2024: Staff is still very friendly, food with cocktails is delicious. But what doesn't work for us now are the prices. Price increases for food are ok, understandable, even if a bit high (e.g. €19.90 for a small turkey steak, all side dishes cost extra, from €4.90). But what's not possible in my opinion: Our little son had fries for €4.90. But then another €2 for a bit of ketchup? A little herb butter with a small steak even costs €2.50! How excessive are these “additional prices”? 50 cents would be appropriate. Just happened to be driving through the area and needed to eat. Very satisfied. They have a menu in English for those of us who aren't fluent in German. Standard fare, burgers, salads, pasta. Something for everyone. Plenty of street parking.

Basically it's quite nice here, but there are star deductions; On the one hand, I can't understand why the restaurant itself isn't air-conditioned despite its modern furnishings; you're completely overwhelmed here in the summer. Dogs are also not allowed inside, which I rarely see in restaurants. The service is also subpar, unfortunately not attentive and so you wait forever until you can even order something. Personally, I think the price is a bit higher. Food is ok, the burger was delicious but unfortunately the baked potato was nothing. It tasted totally mushy without any grilled flavors. A pity.

The Fischer has actually been the place to be for us Echterdingers for years. We were here yesterday and actually wanted to order the salad with shrimp. When I looked at the map I couldn't believe my eyes. The prices have skyrocketed so much that we decided to just drink a glass of wine and go to another restaurant to eat. Unfortunately, €19.90 is not justified for a salad that is cheaper everywhere, even in downtown Stuttgart. Unfortunately you have lost us as regular guests. But the service was still very friendly.

Nice terrace, good cake, good coffee specialties. We were there again on Sunday with our rock'n'roll section. Reservations etc. everything went very well. Because of the unsettled weather, I was even called back in the morning to ask whether we would like to sit outside or inside. We were all served quickly and it was again very tasty. Very unfriendly staff and contradictory behavior among each other! I called Fischers in the morning and asked whether it was possible to order iced coffee to take away. The lady on the phone was courteous and said the cup was a little smaller, but if it was okay with me I could come over. No sooner said than done, after half an hour I was there and walked to the bar and greeted the two colleagues at the bar with a friendly “good morning”. I then mentioned that I wanted to pick up 2 iced coffees, as previously discussed. All I got was a blunt “NO!” “Let’s NOT do it!” replied succinctly. I was surprised and explained that the lady had previously said the opposite on the phone. I then only got a cheeky answer that said, “It’s just a little PISS CUP, that’s why we don’t do it!” then my back was turned and I was ignored, without a goodbye and without being asked if I could get something instead would like something else. I will NEVER go there AGAIN and I will strictly advise those around me not to! This is unacceptable behavior towards the customer, the gentleman at the bar urgently needs a course in which he learns how to deal with customers and how to talk!

Cozy, fair price-performance ratio

I wanted to have lunch here on Saturday at around 12:00 p.m., but that wasn't possible - because I wasn't offered the breakfast menu until the afternoon. The breakfast offered for two was varied and delicious - including warm egg dishes, German rolls, salmon, sausage, cheese and several spreads. Overall the service was friendly and efficient, but the decision not to offer hot food on Saturday lunchtime remains incomprehensible. In the future I might go for a coffee here again - it's worth it for a warm meal, but then I'd rather look for a "real restaurant" in LE. It's a shame, because Fischer's was always a good choice in the past, but unfortunately that has obviously changed - at least at the weekend!

A party with 80s music was announced on March 15th, 2024. Basically a cool location, but music from the 80s was largely absent. Where was U2, Madonna, Michael Jackson, NDW, Queen, AC/DC......? The DJ did an easy job and simply played four hours of hip hop. A pity!!!!!!!!

But our self doubts were completely blown away with the amazing food that they offered! Pros: 1. Amazing Food (Steak was amazing) 2. The waiters are really helpful and courteous. 3. The vibe is very good 4. The place definitely needs reservation. 5. The drinks were really good too! 6. The toilet is in the basement and it was clean too. Cons: 1. The salmon steak was a bit dry. However we did not ask the waiter to get it replaced. 2. The place can get really loud.

Sehr laut, das Essen ist gar nicht gut, die Burgerpatties sind billiges totgebratenes Fleisch, die Pommes versalzen. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, jedoch ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr schlecht. Weiterhin ist die Lautstärke dort unmöglich, so dass man sich nicht vernünftig unterhalten kann.

Leider gab es am Sonntag um 12:00 nur Frühstück. Eine Unterhaltung war praktisch nicht möglich weil Kinder durchs Lokal tobten und Babys weinten

Great place for breakfast. We came over yo here by selecting it quite randomly from the list of other coffees. It was a perfect match. The food is tasty, the service is warm, and we feel welcomed here. Highly recommended. By the way, cappuccino is very good. It looks like they use quality coffee beans.

Ich freue mich sehr, auf einen baldigen Besuch dort, da ich es bisher noch nicht geschafft habe aufgrund meiner Entfernung zum Restaurant, denn durch meine Freunde habe ich nur Positives gehört!
