Food very tasty but not cheap either

Honest Swabian cuisine with fresh, seasonal and regional ingredients. Great and varied lunch menu, always with a veggie dish on offer. Reusable option for collection is offered. I have been a regular customer for many years.

While looking for a restaurant with regional cuisine, we happened upon the Ratsstuben and decided to stop by. The welcome was very friendly and even though there were many reservations for the evening, we were given a table and were able to eat without any time pressure. Eating, that brings us to the highlight of the day... There were three of us and we all decided on the venison goulash, as well as pumpkin soup, fädle soup (beef broth) and goat's cream cheese as starters. It was simply phenomenal, a culinary delight. I can't describe it any other way. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, paired with a lot of “artisanal” skills. The whole thing is rounded off by attractively large portions, so we can speak of a perfect price-performance ratio. The council chambers are more than recommended.

Food is very tasty. But the prices have risen enormously... a few months ago the onion roast was still €27.90 and a side salad was included. Now it costs €32.90 without salad and you can order a salad for €5.90. This means that the same meal now costs €38.80 and is therefore simply €10 more expensive...

Superb. The swabian roast beef was exactly what I was looking for. I'm not German but it certainly tasted what I think is authentic... Regardless - it was fantastic. Tasty, plenty of it, and good service without the pestering that sometimes happens with overzealous waiters. A couple of beers to wash it all down and a nice double espresso to cap it off. 5 stars.

Typical traditional German restaurant, in particular there are typical dishes from the Stuttgart area including spatzle. The environment is a little outdated but it makes it seem even more typical. A little far from the center of Stuttgart but close to the fair if you are there for work

An extremely bad visit to the restaurant and a rude waiter/waitress. Although there were many free seats in the restaurant, we had to wait a long time without a waiter serving us. They acted like they didn't see us. I even suspect they are racist.

Excellent food. Probably the best side salad that I ever tasted in Germany. The waitress mentioned in should try the main salads next time as they are wonderful too. I believe here. Lunch menu available Monday through Friday (discounted price).

Very rustic furnishings and excellent, freshly prepared food. I can only recommend the restaurant.

We picked up the food to take away and it was simply delicious. Can only recommend really good home cooking. Staff was also very nice. Everyone should try it there

My rating is for all the food we ordered. I had the skinny steak which was very good, I recommend that! The rest of the food we ordered was just ok. Definitely not worth the price. It was difficult to get the server’s attention and it wasn’t very busy. It may have been the management had them working inside and outside. The bill was easily split without any difficulty by the server. We were thankful for that as we had twelve people. The location was perfect and the atmosphere nice. The bathrooms were very clean.

The Ratsstuben restaurant is well suited for Swabian gourmets. The menu includes Swabian specialties such as Maultaschen and onion roast beef with salad, spaetzle or fried potatoes and wild potatoes. Steak variations and menus. The prices are a little higher.

Unfortunately, the service and quality do not correspond at all to the high prices quoted here. There was a moldy tomato in the large salad plate, which is absolutely disgusting and also harmful to health. We made the staff aware of this, but the lady didn't care at all. I think an apology would have been the bare minimum in this case. Furthermore, orders are taken incorrectly and instead of a small side salad, the larger side salad is served and billed for.

From the food to the service, consistently perfect.

Cozy restaurant with outdoor seating. Food was excellent, service was top, no errors with the orders, special requests were accepted, fillet of beef was excellent, I recommend the Ratsstuben plate. Prices are a little higher than others, but you get great service, delicious and fresh food with local ingredients. The restaurant is clean and the seating is not too cramped :) highly recommended!

Low expectations lead to pleasant surprises. Germany is not famous for the food, this place was better than expected

There are very good, regional dishes here at a reasonable price. The service is friendly and attentive. We have always been completely satisfied (and fed up) and recommend the restaurant without reservation. Even with a dog, we were warmly welcomed here. You can also sit outside nicely, but I don't find the chairs particularly comfortable. Inside it is rather rustic, but also very cozy.

Were with you last year and this year too. Wanted to order the delicious onion roast again. Unfortunately, we found that the prices had skyrocketed and all the dishes that were great were taken off the menu. Never go there. Sorry. It was really great last year. E.g. Onion roast for €27.50. But now over €32. That doesn't work.

We had a wonderful confirmation, all expectations were more than exceeded. We received great advice in advance that addressed all of our individual requests. The service was friendly and accommodating and fulfilled all of our wishes in the decoration area. Everyone really enjoyed the food and was of a very high standard. Price-performance is a bit higher but definitely in line with the standard. We can only recommend it and wholeheartedly give it 5 stars for our party. The restaurant inside is not a visual eye-catcher, there was also a relatively strong smell of food hanging around in there. We were able to sit outside despite it being a bit chilly in the evening, which was OK. The menu is clear and, in my opinion, good. I particularly like the regional approach here. The food was good and the service was friendly, although not 100% professional.

Friendly team and delicious food.

All of the food here has always been very tasty, and the service is also very accommodating - I've been coming here for years and I always look forward to the culinary enjoyment.

One employee responded to a serious question that came over the phone asking when I wanted to reserve a table with the following statement: sikdir lan... I just asked nicely if 4 p.m. was possible and he threw this at me... Personally, I don't like hearing expressions like that, especially from someone like that...

Das Restaurant hat den Charme des letzten Jahrhundert. Bei der Pachtübernahme wäre eine Modernisierung dringend notwendig gewesen. Gemütlichkeit in den Räumen kommt nicht auf. Die Qualität der Speisen schwankt, mal ist die Suppe nur lauwarm, z.B. Spargelcreme, oder die Kraftbrühe schmeckt wie angerührt. Beim nächsten Besuch ist dann wieder alles bestens. In letzter Zeit stelle ich fest, dass die Portionen kleiner werden und die Preise dafür deutlich höher. Ich finde preislich ist bei den meisten Gerichten die Schmerzgrenze erreicht. Auch wurde die Auswahl der Speisen reduziert, es fehlen die Fleischküchle, die Linsen, die Rinderroulade, ein richtig guter Braten oder Gulasch. Es gibt hauptsächlich kurzgebratenes, wie überall. Die Weinkarte ist gut, die Preise im oberen Level. Das Servicepersonal ist stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ein richtiges Wohlfühlrestaurant sind die Ratsstuben für mich leider nicht.

COLLECTION, just picked up, for €26.90 asparagus with pancakes, unfortunately we are very disappointed. The very few 2 tablespoons of Hollaindaise sauce are flaky and were not included separately. The pancake is in the water and is mushy, as is the white asparagus, some of which is cooked too soft. As always, the taste was very tasty, last time the sauce was served separately and the rest of the food wasn't soggy. Restaurant itself is lit too brightly, not a very cozy atmosphere. A pity.

COZY AMBIENCE IN 70S STYLE. Cream of asparagus soup was very fine, although the asparagus slices in it were a bit too raw. ONION Roast very good, perfectly medium fried with Trollinger sauce and hand-scraped spaetzle. LAMB LIVER fried perfectly pink with a fine Trollinger cranberry sauce, glazed apple slices and wonderfully fluffy buttery mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious but unfortunately the side salad was forgotten for both dishes, which is a shame. Unfortunately, the consistency of the vanilla ice cream was not good. It was sticky and had strings. When my husband ordered a red wine after a glass of white wine, the service person wanted to pour the red wine into the used white wine glass, which is not possible

Very tasty and visually appealing, high quality food. Excellent service! We celebrated our daughter's birthday here and were given a very friendly welcome. There was even a gift from the house for the birthday child as well as a lovingly decorated birthday greeting on the side of the plate of the main course. Thank you very much again, we will definitely come back.

The food was absolutely tasteless and didn't taste like anything. There wasn't even salt and pepper on the table with which to season.

The restaurant offers a good selection of food and drinks, but the prices were found to be a bit high. Service was friendly and attentive, although there were occasional long waits. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting.

Beautiful daily specials, delicious sauces (homemade of course), very tasty Swabian cuisine

Generell hat das Restaurant sehr hohe Preise, jedoch ist die Qualität der Speisen auch sehr gut. Ich hatte an dem Zwiebelrostbraten (fast) nichts auszusetzen. Alleinig die Soße war viel zu dick (Stärke??) und war leider nicht ganz nach meinen Erwartungen. Auch der Preis mit 32,90 EUR ist ambitioniert. Die Ausstattung/Innenaum ist völlig ok, das beste was das man aus dem Gegebenen wohl machen konnte. Der Service ist tatsächlich sehr nett und und auch die Wartezeit hinsichtlich der Speisen war top!

Good atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food

Very tasty home-made food, especially the homemade Maultaschen and dumplings are a dream. What's particularly great is that allergy sufferers are also taken into account and gluten-free dishes are no problem. We would love to come back and can recommend a visit to everyone. A great cozy restaurant with very tasty food!

Traditional German food, cooked very tasty! It has now become a rarity. Great service, as you would expect. The furnishing style is also typically German, reminiscent of earlier times :) Whether intentional or a renovation backlog is an open question. We were later told that this restaurant is very popular with AfD supporters. It wouldn't be surprising given the food and look of the place.

Excellent Swabian cuisine. Courteous service and very clean sanitary facilities. We were there after the fair, according to Google's recommendation. Terrific..

We have been to the council chambers several times; There is good food there and a good selection for vegetarians and vegans. For my birthday dinner it was no problem to set up a purely vegetarian/vegan menu with a great selection, and my guests were completely thrilled and found the vegetarian food extremely tasty, even though most of them were not vegetarians/vegans. With the generous portions that were served, no one went home hungry. We'd love to come back!

Very varied menu with typical dishes of the area

When I want to eat really, really good food, we go to the council chambers. The food here really tastes amazing. Even if you want to celebrate something, the table is beautifully decorated so that you immediately feel welcome.

We were there with 8 people. Well prepared plates - all dishes tasted very good! Particularly noteworthy is the great, attentive service - thank you Tina! If we are in the area again, we would be happy to come back.

Great place for good lamb!!! The plate I ordered is called the best of Lamb and, yes for my personal taste that lamb was extremely delicious. Comes accompanied with a huge portions of potatoes. I judge it by comparing with France, (which is the food that I know better) and its double the quality that you usually find there for the same price. Was enjoyable!

Even longer waiting times due to many orders were communicated in a friendly manner. Absolutely published is Tobias Morgentaler. He lives the job, it's great to watch someone who enjoys being a host and does everything to ensure that the guests go home with a soulful smile. I would also give 6 stars. I'll be back

Onion roast with spaetzle was very tasty and also very plentiful. Was fried to perfection. Price performance is right.

Regionale Küche in allen Preisklassen. Sehr lecker... Ich denke ich komme wieder. Reservierung empfohlen.

Sehr entäuschend, eines der schlechtesten Restaurantbesuche. Salat lieblos & in der Soße geschwommen und ungeniessbar. Kinderschnitzel klein, trocken und nicht paniert. Vegetarisches Gericht ebenfalls geschmacklich gleich 0. Keine Nachfrage des Servicepersonals, ob das Essen geschmeckt hat. Nicht zu enpfehlen.

Kontinuierliche Qualität zu bezahlbaren Preisen.

Abgehobener Saftladen, mit Bestellungen überfordert. Tage zuvor wurde extra gefragt, ob Essen zum Abholen Möglich ist. Es wurde zugesichert, dass es klappt und hierfür eine angepasste Silvester-Karte gibt. Als wir die Bestellung aufgeben wollten direkt zur Öffnungszeit, heißt es nein es geht nicht es sei zu viel los. Und die versprochene Karte ist online auch nicht verfügbar oder wurde auf der Homepage veröffentlicht. Ein Link ohne Funktion. Unfreundlich am Telefon und arrogant !

Wir waren heute spontan auf der Suche nach einem guten Restaurant mit deutscher Küche. Da viele geschlossen hatten auf Grund von Ferien (verständlich nach den Feiertagen) haben wir uns für dieses hier entschieden und was sollen wir sagen: wir hätten nicht glücklicher sein können! Der Service 1A, unfassbar nett und vor allem die Vorspeise war einer der besten Gerichte die wir allesamt je gegessen haben! Zum Hauptgang: das Fleisch vom Zwiebelrostbraten war Medium auf den Punkt getroffen, die Soßen allesamt cremig und keinesfalls wässrig. Die Frikadelle hat geschmeckt wie man sie von Oma früher kannte - mit voller Liebe gekocht. Wir bedanken uns herzlich bei den Köchen für dieses tolle Essen, dass man mit so viel Liebe angerichtet und gekocht hat. Danke auch an die Kellner, ihr wart allesamt spitze! Wir kommen unbedingt wieder! 10/10, bis zum nächsten Besuch! 😋

Das beste Essen was ich seit langem hatte! Haben spontan noch einen Tisch gebucht und keineswegs bereut. Sehr nettes Personal und super schneller Service. Wunderbare Vorspeise, ein Traum! Und der Hauptgang? Selten so etwas perfekt abgestimmtes gegessen einfach der Wahnsinn. Wir kommen wieder und empfehlen Sie weiter! Liebe Grüße

Wir hatten unsere Weihnachtsfeier im Nebenraum. Sehr guter und freundlicher Service. Das Essen kam schnell, obwohl das Restaurant gut besucht war. Alle Gerichte sahen super angerichtet aus. Ich hatte die Riesengarnelen. Optisch und geschmacklich ein Genuss. Aber auch die Hauptspeisen waren sehr lecker und reichlich. Alle schwärmten vom Kartoffelsalat. Bei der reichlichen Auswahl an gut bürgerlicher Küche wird jeder fündig. Man hat die Qual der Wahl. Komme sehr gerne wieder.

Rustikales Ambiente, stilvolle Einrichtung. Eine große Auswahl an leckeren Speisen. Online Reservierung möglich. Sehr aufmerksamer gut geschulter Kellner. Die Preise sind gehoben, aber trotzdem angemessen.

Es ist eines der wenigen Lokalen wo das Essen und der Service auf einem Super Niveau sich befinden. Der Service ist schnell sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit obwohldas Lokal und die Nebenraume belegt waren Es gibt Spätzle wie von der OMA und sonst war das Essen top Macht weiter so Von Toni

Auch für Menschen geeignet, die sich glutenfrei ernähren müssen (Zölliakie). Das Essen war sehr lecker und frisch. Der Service ist super, alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr bemüht und höflich und konnten Fragen bezüglich Unverträglichkeiten perfekt beantworten oder in Erfahrung bringen. Ich habe mich bestens aufgehoben gefühlt und kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen.

Das Essen hat mir geschmeckt. Der Service war nicht perfekt, mehrfach wurden bestellte Getränke zunächst an einen anderen, falschen Tisch gebracht. Das Restaurant macht eher einen ungemütlichen Eindruck, helle Lampen und altmodisches Design.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommene Einrichtung - nicht falsch verstehen. Nicht dass man den Eindruck hätte, alles wäre alt und renovierungsbedürftig - aber es ist einfach etwas spießig....und das ist ggf. auch dem Publikum geschuldet. Das Essen war aber wirklich sehr gut, der Service aufmerksam. Für ein Dinner würde ich aber dennoch nicht herkommen, da zu hell und eher etwas ungemütlich.

Gut bürgerliche Küche mit gehobenem Niveau. Es wird mit Zutaten aus der Region gekocht. Sehr guter Service. Parkplatzsituation könnte besser sein.

Es wurde uns empfohlen vom biggernox bbq, weil er den zwiebelrostbraten gegessen hatte. Ich habe es ebenfalls bestellt, maultaschen wrap und salate. Es war mega. Empfehlung pur. Ihr müsst es probieren. Preis und Qualität passt. Muss aber auch ein riesen Lob an die Bedienung Andrea und an den Koch geben. Gute örtliche Küche mit hohen Niveau. Satt wird jeder. Auch seine kreative saisonale Gerichte, lecker! Auch für Vegetarier wird gesorgt. Bei meinem Stuttgart Leinfelden Besuch, bin ich dort regelmäßig und immer aufs neue positiv überrascht und zufrieden. Voranmeldung bei mehreren Personen hilfreich.

Abendessen mit Freunden in diesem Klasserestaurant ganz in der Nähe unseres Hotels. Das von uns georderte Essen (Piccata von der Aubergine, sowie frische Pfifferlinge mit Serviettenknödel) war von sehr gutem Geschmack. Die dazugehörigen Getränke, vom Bier bis zur Weinschorle haben uns ebenfalls gemundet. Das Ambiente ist gut bürgerlich und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich folge dem Zwiebelrostbraten des außergewöhnlichen Kochs bereits seit Jahrzehnten durch verschiedene Lokale. Jetzt hat er sein eigenes und damit werden Zwiebelrostbraten und ich wohl ersteinmal hierbleiben :-) Für Liebhaber qualitativ hochwertiger Speisen sind die Ratsstuben in Echterdingen quasi alternativlos.

Very good traditional German food in a classical ambience

Wir waren heute zu fünft zum Mittagessen und es war einfach toll! Wir hatten als Hauptgänge das Rinderfilet, den Tafelspitzsalat und Forellenfilet auf Nudeln in Zitronensosse und es war alles sehr lecker! Und auch die Bedienung Andrea war super nett und ist auf alle Wünsche sofort eingegangen Wir kommen wieder :-)

Hat seit dem Besitzerwechsel leider sehr nachgelassen, was Qualität und Service angeht. Preise wurden, trotz des bereits hohen Niveaus, nochmal angehoben.
